Please use proper spacing and paragraphs.Yu Chu was a powerful character in a novel who constantly stirred up trouble, but after transmigrating, he turned from a little demon that kept the masses under his spell into a pitiful little thing that everyone bullied.
Drugging, power struggles, fratricidal rivalries… Yu Chu resolved everything one by one. He snickered and prepared to recuperate in this peaceful world. As for those noisy “flies” that disturbed him, they were slapped to death by his hand.
Looking at those foolish “flies”, Yu Chu did not have the slightest ups and downs inside and slowly extended his hand of fate to the “flies” necks…
Slap!
The hand of fate was heavily slapped away.
“What are you staring at people for? It’s just that you didn’t get the last two custard buns. Do you still want to kill and rob them for the buns?” Xie XingMu, with his serious handsome face, lectured him coldly.
Yu Chu was very dissatisfied with this mysterious pseudo-‘former personal bodyguard’.
Even though Xie XingMu was tall, handsome, and rich, and had saved him many times from life and death; even though this man, as a former bodyguard, gave him food, shelter, and money when he, a young man, was living on the street, he was not pleased.
Xie XingMu controlled him to death in all aspects, not only checked his whereabouts at any time, but also installed a tracker on his cell phone, and was always buzzing around like an old mother.
Yu Chu was living with this oppressive wife and touched the back of his hand, which was slapped red. He was fierce in his heart: Sooner or later, I will kill this biggest “fly” by holding it down.
Later, he was held down, indeed, held down.
He cried and was pressed beneath Xie XingMu and almost killed.

it wasn't great, but it wasn't bad. I do have to disagree, however, with some of those that said that the plot flew off in the second half. Although it was no longer on the island, the overall plot of putting the bad guy away and finding the key was still very much written out. The only difference is that it wasn't as interesting as it could have been and was watered down with slice of life bs.
i do definitely feel like they missed the mark. This could have been a bit more interesting if the MC was more of a fighter like they made you out to believe he was when he fought with the ML but in the end, a lot of it was just him catching lucky breaks and ending up with weapons to take them down with.
also, maybe it's just me, but I feel like they missed out on a heart to heart moment where the ML finally believes the MC being transmigrated and talking about his story and everything he went through in his world. Like had that been a conversation in the storyline, then it would have given the ML a better understanding of the MC and could have been a way to corroborate more smoothly or at least know what we was getting himself into when allying himself with someone that would sell you out if it benefited him.
The author tried to write it as the MC finally believing and accepting himself to be yu chu, but to do that, he'd have needed to at the very least pretend to care about the things going on. Not still be caught up in what happened in his last life and have an actual interest in the world around him.
Also?? Where did being a pastry chef come from? The whole time he wasn't a fan of super sweet sh*t so why did he suddenly want to be a pastry chef? Went from wanting to create skins to wanting to bake? How's that correlate?
like I said. Read this if there's nothing else to read because it's okay. It's not to the point of needing to turn off your brain to follow the logic, but it is lackluster. It feels like a build up to something amazing only to have it peter out right at the climax.
3.5 on the low end
The worst part about the entire novel was probably that it didn't go along with the summary as much as I would've loved it to, but the novel was simple and cute, and overall a good read!

- no big downsides except I wish the issues with MC's family had been sprinkled into the plot a bit more during the second half
Loved this book and loved that it was action and fluff in amazing, equal measure. A definite and quick re-read!
