Meh, I usually enjoy novels where the MC goes into the entertainment industry and becomes successful but this ain't it.

The MC is way too perfect, looks, acting, personality, and even his fandom is so "perfect" there's really no point in reading the novel. I just start rolling my eyes whenever the author starts praising the MC like some Messiah.

There is some sort of character growth like his acting gets better or he realizes some stuff but cause he's so perfect from the beginning, it doesn't really matter. The growth is... more>> so minor that even without it, the story can proceed as it is.

The novel is not horrible so I'm giving 3 stars but I've read many more novels with similar plot but with a better story and interesting MC.

Maybe the story will get better in later chapters, but I'm dropping it

Read it if you want OP MC, skip it if you want MC with character development. <<less

Man, this novel keep on giving! The MC is truly an amazing lad and I love all the MC's friends and families. Not a single one of them are annoying or boring

tbh this novel is slightly better than other acting korean novel out there but this is just my opinion

I started reading this novel with pretty low expectations but honestly what a pleasant surprise! Great writing so far. I love the way the author describes things intricately and translation is totally able to capture the writings. Although the plot is pretty predictable at time, the execution is always intriguing and quite beautiful. It’s a feel good novel so far as the conflicts are quickly resolved favorably to the MC and I particularly like the way the author describes the MC emotional struggles and growth, as well as his relationships... more>> with people around. Overall, I’m very happy that I started reading this and definitely recommend everyone give this novel a try. <<less

I liked it!

It might be a bit spoiler to say this, but due to the title and the genre of this novel I think it should be noted. If you are expecting for Woojin to "use" the 999 lives he has then you should nip that in the bud. They aren't exactly relevant to how he takes his path as an actor. I almost appreciate it because it's not a super cheat to his career. I like a good chest ability myself (like "I was Mistaken as a Monstrous Genius... more>> Actor"), but for the purposes of this novel and Woojin's aspirations, its appropriate that he doesn't use those lives as a crutch of sorts.

Spoiler

You may even question why 999 lives as there is really only 2 of them that matter, but as a low-stakes read, it doesn't really bother me. His last life's connection with Ilya really tugs at the heart and it had a nice resolution that I really appreciated.

[collapse]

I think the way the author inserted the plots of the in-novel roles Woojin plays isn't as bothersome as other novels I've read because they are actually rather interesting in themselves.

The writing and pace was really good in my opinion. It's true that the last few chapters are abrupt in their ending but I think the author did their best to resolve most questions. I personally would have liked to see some things played out instead of just mentioning them at the end, but at least the author didn't drop the ball with them and gave the readers some consolation.

I knocked it down a star because of this reason and the little bit of dissatisfaction such a wrap-up can bring, Plus the oddly inserted backstory of the "original" Woojin which perplexed me to it's purpose and non-necessity.

It's worth a nice binge if you have time and there are definite arcs where you can put it down and come back to read in chunks. <<less

I've been following for updates diligently. I really like the MC's attitude. Very filial and kind, yet also quite stubborn and headstrong. His interactions with his family, fans, and coworkers are quite cute too XD. It's also fun seeing the reactions of the antis and how MC reacts to them. I also like how MC is quite op. With his past lives' skills in his arsenal, you can say his journey of becoming a star will become smoother. Man, the MC is cool.

The novel reads like jumpstarting a car

The story keeps stuttering to the next draw without any investment. The intro arc has ended at ch7 and we've already skimmed 4 reasons I should care about the MC. (Angel punishment, single mom, lover heartbreak, previous life resentment). But the 3 lines each point gets cant convince me to root for him. The movie scenes were decently and the dialogue seems good. I could picture it in my head even if we got 0 description of the plot of the movie.

I turned off... more>> the ignition before it got going. Could of gotten better. <<less

To be honest, I stumbled across this novel by accident and read it without much anticipation. But after a few chapters, I kept craving for more.

The story is uniquely done in the way the author portrays our main character and his love for art.

To be more precise, just because he has memories of his past life doesn't mean that he can use his past life's abilities with ease.

It is the same when it comes to acting. He doesn't use the characteristics of his past selves to portray his characters, but... more>> he learns from them to create and improve the characters on his own, to bring life to them in his way.

And I love the fact that he loves art so much and is dedicated when it comes to art. He learns to play the piano and learns to draw step by step. And he does it with passion. He does it because he loves them and is fascinated by them.

The story is not entirely about how he utilized his memories to help him become the best actor, but it is a story about how he has grown as a human and as an artist throughout his many lives.

I would love it if you guys gave this novel a chance instead of believing in the reviews that say he is dumb because he was 23 when he suddenly remembered his past lives. And that didn't change who he was. He is still Chae Woo-jin. A 23-year-old boy who has only experienced 23 years on earth.

Throughout the story, he has given and, in turn, received much kindness. He lives his life for art and the people he has learned to love.

There is no doubt that he would chase after the art for many years and many lives to come. Which I find refreshing and motivating to read.

Thank you to the author, who has created such a good story and brought me great joy in the past few days. Thank you to the translator for doing such a good job of uniquely translating this.

I wish that you guys would be able to feel the same as me when reading this story. <<less

I was fooled by the high rating and some reviews giving it 5 stars. MC experienced 999 lives but still acted as a weak person. MC is also quite dumb as he did not want to use all of the knowledge he obtained to its fullest. Moreover, the conflicts are so petty that it becomes a petty fight between the MC and a third-rate villain. The translation is a bit bad as there are a lot of awkward sentences. Anyway, not recommended.

I'd say the author has the basic for writing research articles lol, very roundabout way to showing his character and his passion about acting, repetitive mention of his beauty beside the real depiction of his acting in the public eyes, and while I wondered if his first magazine shoot would be another harem/ecchi tag in a story focused on a male protagonist instead of his career life as a passionate actor. Nevertheless I like the first few chapters when he acts his first 2 movies

It's a really good novel to read. However, for some reason I don't feel so complete after reading it all... but then, I don't really regret reading either. I encountered this novel quite a few times — and ignored it — in the past, before actually reading it. Now, I feel relieved that I tried reading this 'cuz it made me discover a wonderful MC, Woo-Jin.

I super love the plot!!! I like that there are small characters that are mentioned at the earlier chapters that came out later. They also don't drag out a scene. I especially love the ending. Even though its a slice of life, the little bit of fantasy at the beginning was resolved at the end. I hope see more of this kind of plot.

I already wrote so long, and accidentally go back to previous page😭

One last chapter I haven't read yet.

Okay basically this is an excellent story. The thing that I love most is that, there is NO female lead. Some might think this is a flaw, , but I like it because the author describe the MC as perfect so if there is fl, the author really need to rack his/her brain to make her really deserve the MC.

It is also refreshing that the daughter of the villainess (woo ra) is not... more>> miserable and pitiful or twisted and evil. She realize the reality of her family, accept it, has her own opinion and not be influenced by them. Although the exact reason is that she's just silly and has low IQ 😂

There's no revenge plot from MC, but as usual, the enemy just has to dig their own grave. One of the character who used to bully the MC, came looking for him (to end their lives), but fortunately he's a coward, then overcome his despair, listened to MC advice and chose to continue to live an ordinary life. I like this part because the author give him this ending although he's just an insignificant character in this story.

The most curious thing about this story is that, why he is so obsessed with that woman's (soul) whatever life he's in? I NEED A REASON. He's too good for him to become miserable like that.

Lastly, if there is something that I can call flaw is that, the film that MC act in always skip some details that can be important. For example, The Red, judging from the MC description, Seol Hwa is someone really important to the prince, and her death did bring the greatest impact on him. But they skip this part as if he's always okay during the filming, when he's crying when the first time they film the prince despair. I understand that author want to show that he can overcome his past life, but Seol Hwa is his most important person at that time, it should have at least some impact on him during her death scene. Or I might mistaken that they don't film that part.

Next, Confession Of White, my only complain is that, there's too few scene of their filming, the audition part is okay, but after MC join the production team, there's a scene which allow him to realize the password and then suddenly he only left with last part of the filming. I need more😭 my Lloyd.

I can understand to some extent why this story is short (244) , because there is not really any conflict but please add a few more chapter okay😭 side story is okay too😭 <<less

It's a nice slice-of-life genre.

The ending kinda feel rushed tho. But it still made me feel mixed emotions.

I mean— WHY THEY DIDN'T END IT WITH GENIE'S POV?

Spoiler

Ending the novel with a (n) interview scene... doesn't feels good QAQ.

[collapse]

But overall, the novel is nice in a (n) entertainment/showbiz novel.

It's different compared to cn's. (Since I mostly read cn, I rarely read kr.)

I wish they had extras to end it. There so many things they still have to write. The time skip leaves us with no closure to the epilogue.

(But still rating this as 5 star, since it's nice.) <<less

I think this can be marked as one of my favorite showbiz novels of all time... although I wish it could be just a little longer and had more character growth. To me, the MC has always been almost the same person from beginning to end which is pretty nice to think of a near-perfect person, but also makes me feel he lacks development. Apart from that, it's pretty well written. There were a lot of scenes described that I would like to see come to life visually and not... more>> just in my imagination as well since it's so pretty.

I would definitely recommend this novel to anyone interested :> <<less

i was not into entertainment industry kind of novel before I found this gem. the plot itself is unique where he remembered 999 of his previous lives but did not lost himself in it, instead embrace it to become a better version of himself. and it's not a repetitive story like how he met a jealous fellow actor etc, he tried to ruined you etc, and things just go up and down where people trust rumor first before confirms etc, this novel really tells you his journey from nothing to... more>> something without boring conflict.

MC learned from his mistakes and how people around him helped him a lot with that makes this novel heartwarming.

one thing to note is there's lots of filler, like how fans reacted to his movies, etc. and I love this because through this, I know how the world reacts on his job as an actor. these filler can sometimes be boring for those whose not enjoyed this kind of things, but well I am helpless with people praised the protagonist what should I do lol.

i will recommended this series for people with the same simp as I do.

and little spoiler :
Spoiler

still no romance at this point of chapter even tho there's some potential at the beginning. not that I complain.... yeah no complain..

Still far from the latest chapter, but I wanted to write this review first to sort my thoughts out and help decide if I want to continue.

The premise is pretty solid, nothing new but it's something with a lot of room for potential. The MC uses his previous lives' memories to help him in acting, but the memories themselves are consumable whenever he wants to and aren't fully integrated to him.

The rest of my review is kind of very much personal preference.

First off, I'm not very fond of the MC's... more>> character. He's the awkward but bubbly type of guy, which feels weird to me given that he has 1000 lives behind his belt. I know he's trying to keep his persona from changing, but there should at least be consequences of whenever he recalls any memory from his past. If nothing else, I just want to at least give him more backbone. He was apparently a mafia boss in his past life, like come on just the knowledge of the darkest sides of humanity, not necessarily the experience, should make him a little less bubbly than what his character is. To be honest, it just feels too much like the author is trying to fit the MC in a certain Korean archetype than I am not familiar or fond of, and something that definitely isn't conveyed very well in translated text form. All in all it just doesn't feel right.

Also another thing, which was actually the reason why I'm writing this in the first place, is the writing style. It's painfully slow. That's not necessarily a bad thing, especially during cool moments when he's actually acting, but it's a really massive drag most of the times. It especially becomes a problem when it becomes too obvious what the author wants to do. It's really tiring to keep hearing people praise the MC paragraph after paragraph after paragraph after paragraph holy sh*t just stop. Chapters and scenes just drag on emphasizing how talented and skilled the MC is, it's really hard to read. I know these parts are unavoidable, but at least make it less painful to read through. There's like 20% meaningful content and the rest is either info dump or repetitive praise.

To be honest, this just mostly boils down to me having a different expectation as to what the MC should be like given his cheat. I've read the manhwa See You In My 19th Life (highly recommend), and that one was just 19 lives. And yet the MC there feels so much more refreshing and mature than what the MC here is. It's a show-off type novel with the wrong MC. He's too humble, it just doesn't work. In fact humble is not necessarily bad, but the MC just doesn't have the dignity that a reincarnator should have. Maybe he'll change somewhere in the future, but I don't know if I have enough patience for it. I've read 30 chapters but there has barely been any progress. I want to endure through it, but then I get hit with fashion technicalities, background character peanut gallery, just pointless character interactions back to back that barely adds anything to the plot. Technical stories have their own charm, but this novel isn't pulling that off properly enough for me. <<less

It was okay at first, But MC is much too omnipotent with no flaws to his character at all, so it got stale rather quickly, though still relatively enjoyable. No romance. It's mainly good for reactions from the fans and such, which quickly becomes less interesting due to build-ups of plotlines not getting the proper payoffs.

Would not read it again.

Major Plot-line doesn't get resolved.
Spoiler

The bio dad plot doesn't get any resolution, as the two NEVER meet throughout the novel.
