Bursting After He Transmigrated into the Cannon Fodder Omega

Description

Yun Xingze transmigrated into an ABO novel and became the cannon fodder omega. The family business is declining and his fiancé doesn’t like him. According to the original plot, with his love-filled brain, he dedicated everything to the male lead Chi Yu, but ended up losing the marriage, before finally cutting his gland and dying of infection.

The former mecha genius Yun Xingze said: I am very busy and will not play with you.

After tearing apart the script, he was obsessed with mechas, ready to realize his past life’s dream.

Delicate and frail omegas have always been unsuitable for piloting mecha armor. However, in this year’s XingHai Military Academy’s mecha contest, a new omega student named Yun Xingze appeared, driving a pitiful second-hand armor. Everyone thought he was provoked by the broken engagement and ready to watch a joke, but they were shocked when Yun Xingze suppressed a group of alphas with his mecha!

Everyone: ??? Is this reasonable?!

Something more shocking is yet to come-

Yun Xingze broke the winning streak in the Mecha Contest!

The mecha designed by Yun Xingze was sold at a high price at the auction!

The mecha technology created by Yun Xingze is desired by all-interstellar mecha companies!

The whole interstellar wants to hold his thigh!

——–

After the dissolution of their marriage contract, Chi Yu waited for Yun Xingze to regret it, but the one who regretted it was himself. Fortunately, there is a rule in the Empire: AOs with high pheromone matching must be together.

Yun Xingze is destined to become his fiancee.

However, at the engagement banquet, before Chi Yu had time to propose, Yun Xingze sneered and severed his gland. As described in the original book, the pheromone floated in the air, and like a rose, withered quickly.

Chi Yu was shocked and heartbroken, but before he could do anything, another tall figure hugged Yun Xingze and rushed out of the banquet.

Everyone showed a surprised expression.

Even Yun Xingze looked at the person holding him in surprise-

He was the villain, Luo Wenchuan. In the original book, the second prince of the Star Empire was tall and handsome, but cold and unkind.

But at this moment, his eyes were red with anxiety.

*This isn't a yaoi novel, it's shounen ai. If only I could edit the genre so that it won't be misleading. The novel was good but it was during the time I was looking for yaoi novels. Hopefully it can be fixed

I wasn't interested in sci-fi and especially about mechas untill I read this novel. Everything was well written and I got highly invsted. I even forgot this is a bl novel and not purely about mechas. The action scenes are easy to understand and visualise, I don't usually like... more>> long descriptions of fight scenes but those were great. I wish there's a manhua adaptation for this because I really want to see how those mechas look like! Also, why is this novel tagged as Yaoi? It's mostly shounen ai but I don't think there's any Yaoi-worthy scenes??

I feel bad for MC for having such disgusting parents

Supporting characters at the first few appearances were very stressful to read, they always tell MC to give up. Just because you're facing a stronger opponent, you should just give up? They have a sense of relief after putting others down, MC is very nice to not punch them straight in the face. MC is very mature, very envyful.

Spoiler

I hate Qin Shuang (MC's mother) the most, more than Su Zinan. She's a hypocrite. What's ironic is that she, herself, opposed her own arranged marriage with an unknown alpha and is somehow fine with forcing her child to be an arranged marriage in which SHE USED TO OPPOSE. I hate hypocrites the most... Chi Yu on the other hand, is just pathetic but I don't have deep hatred towards him unlike Qin Shuang.

Also the online barrages when Xinghai was fighting against Noah, they were so annoying like can't you understand that Xingze is in the hospital 😬 atleast show some compassion and tell him to get well soon instead of telling him that Xinghai needs him for victory, seriously no empathy but I also can't expect much because it's a patriarchal society

What's weird and uncomfortable is that while Chi Yu can't get his life back, it's very unfair when MC's mother was given a chance but not Chi Yu. If we're reading the same novel, MC's mother is no better than Chi Yu. MC was being quite forgiving to his parents and even Su Zinan but somehow not Chi Yu as if his sins is greater than what MC's parents did? He's annoying and pathetic af tho but he should be treated the same way as the current Su Zinan, he's also brainwashed by patriarchy so why should he be treated any different? Just because he's the "villain" male lead?? Not a fan of what the author's point is. If you want to punish everyone then punish them all, if you want to forgive them then forgive them but make sure it's fair. It's ironic talking about omega rights but also not being fair in terms of justice... Overall, I dislike the fact that he's forgiving to his mother. Guilty conscience does not justify what you did in the past, please leave MC alone and stop saying that "you're sorry" 🙄

[collapse]

Obviously there's a lot of plot armour because MC was already the best of the best person in his former life so adapting to his new life wasn't hard and could easily regain his best ability from his former life experiences.

I rated 3 stars because I dislike slow burn even though they liked each other quite early in the novel. Also, the novel's summary makes it sound like it's a full-on omegaverse romance story but it mostly focuses on mecha fights. Now that I think about it, there's not much going on with the plot because most of it are fillers (- too many mecha fight descriptions). It was a great read but I wouldn't read it again. <<less

A really good story with well-rounded and interesting characters There were some nice supporting side characters too. They were a little bit crazy and weird, but not without charm. MC and ML were very lovable. MC is a crazy scientist. I loved that he had his priorities sorted. From the very first chapters, I fell in love with him because he was motivated, passionate, and a bit shameless. His bargaining skills are something. ML isn't a typical alpha either; he seems cold and strong, but deep down he is vulnerable... more>> and sometimes lacks confidence. I really felt sorry for the original owner of MC Body. I think he wasn't happy either; his life was wasted because of his family and society. I liked that MC was trying to bring justice to him.

Naturally, there were villains too; some definitely have something wrong with their brains and are true scum. I think they were really realistic because, unfortunately, I have met people like them. People who can't see their flaws and think that they are always right never learn to respect other people and their opinions. There were also minor villains who weren't evil to the core and just needed some guidance. At the end of the story, everyone got what they deserved, and the end was satisfying.

The plot itself is good too. It has a nice flow; there are a lot of descriptions of mecha fights, but it is well-written, interesting, and funny. Sometimes situations got really tense, and I was worried about MC, but everything was resolved quickly, and things weren't dragged out to the point of making the story unbearable.

I loved the main idea of this story: that gender doesn't matter and everything depends on one's abilities. It is something I strongly agree with. It also contains such topics as discrimination and forced marriage. Yes, the author mainly speaks about the ABO world and about omegas, but it strongly resonates with our world and how women are treated today in some parts of the world. Using young girls as a tool and killing their future and potential is a heinous crime.

To summarise, the story is interesting; it is fast-paced, sometimes funny, and sometimes a bit nerve-wracking; there is the perfect amount of angst—not too much; face-slapping moments are satisfying; romance is slow burn; actually, romance wasn't the main focus of the story, but at the end we get a bit of dog food, and in general, the MC and ML relationship is sweet. I really loved this story and would recommend it to other readers. The synopsis is pretty accurate. Also, the translation is very good, so it is definitely worth reading. I honestly wish there were some extras. The story ended well. I just liked MC and ML very much and wanted them to stay with me for a little bit longer. <<less

It was good, but I was waiting for it to be great.

To be honest, the MC and ML were both kinda bland. A genius and a black belly, aside from how powerful and smart they are, they were, for the most part, dull and uninteresting. I know the novel is just working with the trope of its genre of everything going well for the MC, but I feel like a lot could have been done to make it more fun to read.

They had their good and funny moments, but the... more>> minor characters were frankly more interesting and enjoyable to read than the two main characters.

The romantic development between them was also pretty lackluster. Sometimes it felt like watching two wet cardboards flirt with each other. The "build up" of the romance was mostly ML giving MC resources and MC impressing him, rinse and repeat. The catalyst to them getting together felt forced and pretty meh for how romantic everybody else makes it out to be
Spoiler

ML gets drunk and bites MC without consent, harhar, but it's fiiine cause MC liked it anyway and it makes him realize he likes ML that way, boooo

[collapse]

The magnitude of their romance is also excessively overstressed in the story. Case on point, nobody else has real love other than MC and ML. All other couples in the story are in awful or loveless marriage to contrast how romantic MC and ML's relationship is. Each and everyone of their peers are loveless single dogs who can only watch them in envy. Granted, this can be hilarious, if it wasn't so overused.

For a pair of mandarin ducks supposedly perfect for each other, they are both so dull. Well, I guess they match that way.

The plot is also too slow when it can be paced faster, and too fast when it should be paced slower. The novel spends way too much time with MC defeating his schoolmates in the school tournament and then rushes the main development, climax, reveal and conclusion in the last twenty chapters. The entire plot takes place for less than an entire year. MC revolutionizes the entire mecha industry for, like, two months without encountering any hurdles. What missing link technology between now and his supposedly 40 years advanced technology? MC can do everything. He somehow has all the parts and technology necessary to create a brand new age of mecha that somehow slipped through the brain of every other specialists in the entire galaxy.

This convenience makes all of MC's achievements feel so hollow because there's just no satisfaction to what he accomplishes. It's just him constantly impressing everyone with a heartbeat, and then shrugging it off.

The plot and theme is interesting enough, but without the build up to set it up, it really doesn't have as much of an impact as you know the novel is trying to impress on its readers.

The novel is good, but not great, but also not bad enough to torture your brain cells. It's an okay read with good enough quality. A quick easy read, you can skip huge blocks of texts but still not miss anything of importance and still get the story. <<less

When I first started reading this I was expecting your typical and mainstream ABO Interstellar novel, but I was totally wrong. What I got was a hidden gem. I found myself binge reading this in just one day and not sleeping until I finished it.

  • The MC is super op right from the start. The development is smooth sailing and fast. But despite the novel having this premise it didn't felt like everything was delivered right to the the MC like the world is putting him up the pedestal and raising him and glorifying him with him doing absolutely nothing. This is because the way the author wrote the mecha fights.
  • Mecha Fights. The fighting scenes takes the majority of the story and I absolutely LOVE it. Unlike other novels where the mechas were glossed over and was just a plot drive, here the author fleshed out the different types of mechas. Each of them having unique abilities and skills from one another, having advantages and disadvantages over certain types, what they look like, etc. With this details reading the mecha fight scenes didn't feel like 'oh there are two robots fighting', instead it felt like I can see and picture the scene as it happens and I'm aware of the pros and cons of the mecha making it more immersive. I found myself cheering as the fight happens.
  • The MC. The MC didn't just win just because his past knowledge. He gathers information and observe his enemy, calculates, and then he makes a move in battle. And most importantly he doesn't act all self important like he's the best just because he's op. But doesn't let others bully him.
  • The ml. I like his attitude of he likes the MC whether he's an omega or not. He just likes him as he is, without a care for his gender or their matching percentage. Although I wish he had more scenes in the story.
  • There is an equal progress on the development on the MC and ml's relationship and the fight scenes.
  • I also like the development of the antagonist (some of em). They may come across as irritating and I just wanted them out of the picture but at the same time they had a good character development after they learned their lesson from the face slapping.
Overall, if you would enjoy reading the mecha fights in detail while getting a development between the main cp,... more>> and not expect some mind blowing plot twist, complicated plot, and hidden villains you'll enjoy this one.

There's no extra though I wish the author could have added some. <<less

2.5 stars

I gave it this rating cause I managed to painstakingly finish this and not dnf.
ML is BORING as hell, MC is your typical 2D unimaginable OP character (don’t get me wrong, I like my OP chars, but with substance and thought).
The romance was dry. The plot was dry. The writing was horrid. Ugly cat made me laugh. Would never read again.

at first I wasn’t sure if I should read this since it’s transmigrated genre as well as only have full MTL translation. But man, Im glad I picked this book up. The translation is easy to read, the plot, the characters as well as the theme are all amazing. The first half is like your regular-dogblood drama. But for one, I love MC firmness in dealing with Situations so much. Forever ChuanXing!!! 4.8/5⭐️

I love this story and wouldn't go by the previous 1-star review. First off, I think this story is in some ways, u h more in tune with real and with how the character growth takes place. Second, it's nice to read a story where the focus is on not on some cliche back story for the transmigration. Here, the MC transmigrates and finds someone who appreciates him, finds a cause and fights for his freedom.
Regarding the criticisms in the 1-star review:

Spoiler

While some of the comments do make sense, what kind of revenge should he have taken on Chi Yu and Su Zinnan? Su Zinnan bullies him and attacks his reputation, so he was bullied in turn and lost his reputation. For once, we have a villain who repents and thinks about his actions after getting his just desserts. Bullying is awful but there needs to be room for growth is people are only in their teens and twenties. I'm not saying we have to forgive them, but they need to be allowed to change. Also Su Zinnan posted the stuff and the public got led by their noses... what revenge should be taken on all these people? It's never black or white.

Chi Yu is a misogynistic idiot but there are people like that all around us (especially in schools and colleges), his family and future are ruined. His parents are killed and exiled... think about it, he was also a pawn, he should have been smarter but thats not something you need to die for. He also has to live life regretting everything he's done which is worse.

As for MC transmigrating because he could, most transmigrators do it because they can. This is the premise in most stories and I find it refreshing that there was no bogus one vs one fateful need to transmigrate because they were long lost lovers or something of that sort which peppers all cliche transmigration novels.

The MC is set up as an OP chuunibyou and in a way, Su Zinnan has eroded his reputation and personality so much that it makes sense that people around don't realise whats happened. In the absence of a system, there is no need for him to follow any plot or act in a particular way. They believe Chi Yu broke his heart and made him want to work harder which is reason enough.

[collapse]

I also want to point out that I almost missed reading this story because of that one-star review. So I felt the need to add my thoughts and rate the novel. The progression is smooth, it is OP but it has a good balance of fantasy and logical growth of character's personalities. I loved it.

Thanks for the hard work translating~

This was a 7/10 For me, It had the potential of being five stars and having higher rating overall but I think most people are disappointed that it could have been better than what it was.

It had so much material and plots to pull from, but it focused on 1 school thing throughout and that was a bit boring. But what made up for it to me was the MC and ML. I don't like damsels in distress. In most BL it's always an unbalanced... more>> relationship in power dynamics of sorts. And this is the total opposite of that. They're equal and the bottom/ shou can be even said to be stronger than the ML, which is so refreshing. Because there's rare pieces for this genre. There's not much romance, but there's a lot of action. Strong Omega MC and smart. So, they didn't just make him strong, but s*upid Like some novels do. But he's also strong and smart. Which is even rarer lol. And the ML fully supports the MC no toxic behavior Puts him wholey first thinks of his interests and very forward thinking So that made me overlook some of the negatives in this novel. A bit of a slow start. No romance until like the last 20 chapters. The side characters are okay. They're not too 2D, but it was a quick ending. So, we didn't get much on what happened after. But I will recommend this and maybe reread this in the future. <<less

Loved the story. The world building is done well so you're able to really visualize the background the story is set in.

This is a Reincarnation story set in a Omegaverse universe. I personally loved the fact that there was not any extremes (no r@pe or tragic endings for the main or side characters) in the story as you tend to see sometimes in an Omegaverse setting. Surprisingly for an Omegaverse story there is no snu snu scenes - everything is implied.

This story was really entertaining and a good binge read.... more>> I liked it enough that it left me, wishing that there was extras to tell more details about our main couple and some of the side characters. <<less

how to say..... It was a very average story to me.

Yeah in the beginning I enjoyed the story very much, and was very excited for the faceslapping chapters. But later all of my enthusiasm started to wane.

As I said it's a pretty average one and you could almost guess all the storyline alone, so pretty much basic.

Idk about the ending though as I dropped the story.

But I would still recommend u to read it first before dropping it, cause sometimes even if we could guess the plot, we still enjoy it very much, so do read first

Thanku author and the translators

This is a mecha story first, then a story about a guy from another world sent into an Omega. He’s all about mech and his unfulfilled dreams. He doesn’t experience much of an omega existence, no alpha pheromone stress, no heat, in fact the author makes sure he has no real effects from the alpha who is affected. Xingze doesn’t have a system telling him he can’t OOC so why would that be a concern to him? Also he was treated well in his last life, why would he put... more>> up with the way he was treated? I prefer more fluff and less drama but this was a good read. I agree that this author should just write mecha stories and give up the relationship aspect but I wouldn’t read it. For me the relationship comes first and I think the rating of this story shows I’m not alone <<less

Pretty solid!

The ML is pretty uninteresting, but still a pleasant character. If you enjoy the cold-outside warm-inside type, he should be up your alley. His background isn't really well-established in the story. It's definitely a pretty important to the story, but I never felt like it really had much purpose other than to prop up the MC. I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing though, since the novel is primarily a counterattack story-- a simple but nicely executed plot is better than a complex and poorly executed plot, especially... more>> since a lot of webnovel success is based off of trope satisfaction. The MC is excellent; he's definitely OP, but that's fairly typical of a faceslapping novel. In the early stages of the novel, he's still reliant on others for opportunities-- he has his own stunning abilities, but it's fairly obvious that he'd be out of luck if he wasn't helped. I really enjoyed his attitude and characterization. The romance maintains consent.

The ABO setting is used to comment on misogyny, rather than just being a device for NSFW content. The omega villains generally have more nuanced characters, displaying the common real life issues of women attacking other women to try and buoy themselves in a patriarchal society, or women being forced to accept lesser positions because they've never been allowed to think of anything else. The MC's advantage is that he doesn't have this same ingrained idea, as he's from a non-ABO world and a man. His ability to persevere through this reality's "misogyny" is because he lacks any close relationship to someone who would pressure him to bow his head, and because he's an outsider to ABO society.

The commentary kind of breaks down in some areas-- it's explicitly stated that omegas are genuinely weaker in physical and mental strength. It's not inherent to their actual personalities, it's because their gland literally inhibits them. If it's supposed to be a parallel to irl women, I'd understand physical strength (though, I think its nonsense that sci-fi tech is so primitive that it still heavy relies on physical strength) but mental strength? Come on. That's just gross. It doesn't invalidate the whole "just because someone is weaker, doesn't mean you can treat them poorly" message, but making the omegas just outright worse unless they remove their glands (which I believe is supposed to sterilize them) in a story set in a military school... An equalizing factor is later introduced, which addresses how the weakest and most vulnerable folks are going to inevitably end up being oppressed in a militaristic society, but it's very late into the story. While I still thought this world setting was used interestingly, I think the author fumbled it by making omegas genuinely weaker in every way excluding one thing (won't spoil) that isn't even a strength inherent to them.

... Despite my grievances, I did genuinely enjoy the novel. Great faceslapping, lovable side characters (Kaleb my beloved), and tries to tackle genuine issues. As a webnovel, it's definitely above average. <<less

OP MC is OP, dog blood novel os full of dog blood, this novel is another BL**CH/dr*g*nb*ll loop.

MC has a coming up fight > upgrades the mecha > fights n win > new fight > new upgrades > more wins > rinse and repeat

The romance subplot only came out in last part of the series.

As I read on, I felt more intelligence could have been given to the villians. Instead of screaming "YOU ARE JUST AN OMEGAAA" and lose miserable then scream "BUT HOWWW YOU CHEATED YOU ARE JUST AN OMEGAAA." It came to the point I had to skim through the chapters just to reach the end. There are no neutral characters, only the one siding with MC, or not. And yeah as dog blood novels go, they were all punished.

ML goes OOC sometimes, but honestly all characters are flatter than the MC's chest. Would be nice if there were more dimension to the characters even tho most disappear at one point.

The only thing that I like is at the very last chapter. The rest, not so much, just had to pull through to the end.

too heavy on the details especially during the battles which is like more than half of all the chapters, so I just kept scrolling trying to find the end of the battles because honestly too boring and even though MC uses different tricks and tactics everytime there would be like a one paragraph recap afterwards by the people watching so I just skip it

i wanted to rate it 4 because it was not enough romance for me, but since this is my personal preference, I refrained from doing so

Oh wow! What a surprise! I didn't think i'd actually like this (considering that I've dropped a few of translator's works lol), the summary didn't let me down. The premise was very intriguing and it kept me high until the very end! I actually like the fighting scenes, I love the face-slapping in the competition, though it did get a bit boring towards the end.

One thing I like about this is that it didn't go to the cliche'd ABO route, I mean, after a certain scene they did kinda go... more>> there but not so much there to make me tired and go 'not again!' because of it. I like MC and ML, both OP, and I really don't like OP main CP so much but this was done rather beautifully.
