It's less fluff and more cringe. A typical brainless story, one where the author and the reader are brainless, that while having quite some "Fluff" and Romance, is devoid of development, gravitas, or any sort of investment in the characters.

The author uses a heavily modified "starting point" for the MC, and then inserts them into a similarly twisted world that is so two-dimensional and "Coincidentally" set up in a way that the MC can just bumble their way to success by doing effectively nothing. It feels like the world itself... more>> is a giant idiot ball that bends over backwards in ways that only massage the MC and by proxy the Readers' egos, and is just there so that the MC can have the "Fluff". And even then there is little to no meaning in the "Fluff." The son character is a side thought at times, and it really feels like this "Pet" rather than an actual child. He's only there to conveniently provide cuteness to the reader and to be a plot device at times.

When caught up in the flow of things, it's kind of nice, but if you take a step back, you start feeling things as hollow.

The lack of self-awareness is cringeworthy. And not even of the MC, but rather the Author. This is not Mary Sue, this is beyond that. If you actually like realistic "Showbiz stories" this makes that world nothing but an easy "Get rich quick" goldmine with no depth. It falls back on the standards: overt nationalism, psuedoscience, selective chinese mythological enhancements, face-slapping traditional power figures, and more.

Low cost highs for low brow tastes.

And that's fine (see the rating of 3.0 and not 1.0) it's just that because of the lack of any other substance there, it isn't actually giving the full payoff during those fluff and face-slapping scenes. Compare this to something like "I'm Really a Superstar", which I have complained about, this novel's handling of things is even more mary-sue-ish and meaningless. Because there are so little stakes for most of the story, nothing feels earned/logical in progression. It's like the MC is winning the lottery constantly by being given scratch-off tickets by strangers. Contrast this to say, Hidden Marriage, where even though we have a similar set of tropes, it's nothing so overt and it feels like that MC (Ning Xi) actually earns and develops things by having some sort of agency herself while her reluctance to being a parent is an actual salient character development to the plot. Granted Hidden marriage is like 10 (if not 20) times longer than it needs to be, and this story is only 132 short chapters, but it's not like those 132 chapters don't feel really repetitive after the first 40.

The MC we see in chapter 1 isn't really different from the one that we see in ch 132... all that's changed is that the world has rewritten itself to accommodate her.

And if you're ok with that because that's just the "cost of entry" to this genre, that's fine, you'll love this story. Otherwise, try some other stories like "Villain's Mother" or "The Villain and the Cannon Fodder’s Mother". If you're ok with a bit more brutal of a romance but really nice child-son fluff, Lucia is very rewarding imho. But I will concede that for "Single mother don't need no man" stories, this probably is the most notable I have come across so far. Though, I will point out that "adopting and raising the male lead and the villain" has those motherly (but in*esty) vibes of taking care of children by a single female lead... though she ends up being "double teamed" by them into a relationship. Either way as stories I feel these others are better, while this story (Delicate mother of a villain) more just substance-less popcorn/reality TV to enjoy with your brain firmly off. <<less

I liked it. It was a nice easy read with some face slapping but none of the drama. The MC is crazy OP that it's unbelievable. Everything she did resulted in success and caused people to favorite her even more. Even for me some parts of the story that was touting how she absolutely dominated media attention was over top but overall it was a calming novel to read right after reading other crazy dog blood drama novel.

To be honest, I didn't paid attention much to the tags so it was too late for me to realized that there's no romance here. But still, I was able to finish it with relish. I mean, I don't know about you, but sometimes when I read a lot of revenge type of plot, I need a breather which is lighthearted— in short, this type of Mary Sue novel is what I'm looking for sometimes. The FL doesn't suffer much set back and her luck is way too good. Also,... more>> although I also feel that she's kinda naive for someone who came from an apocalyptic world, I justified it with "maybe she's letting herself be so carefree since she never experienced a peaceful life". Well, it's not like she's plainly s*upid, in fact she's smart, just that she's too lazy.

Moreover, although I really came here for romance, even it's absent, I still slept late (already in the morning) just by reading this because I am entertained by the plot (though unrealistic, I don't care that much).

Also, I think it's good if there's more extra chapters. Anyway, it's 8/10 for me. <<less

I've skipped over 10 chapters to even get through this far.

First, variety shows in entertainment novels are truly the bane of existence and are the weakest part of any novel. If you agree, please stand up.

Second, did she really just call her ex boyfriend to help her son get into primary school?? The f*ck. I can't even enjoy this cliche novel if it's gonna be so obviously braindead.

Dnf. Live your life. Read if you like it. I guess it could be a toilet read bc it's shit. Hahaha. I've seen... more>> worse, but it's really just basic braindead beauty but I don't know I'm beautiful CoverGirl with a background in zombies. Yes I did just summarize the book in a sentence. <<less

it's so ridiculous This is my personal opinion, I agree. The plot is an interesting story about raising a future villain, but MC Goldfinger is pretty ridiculous. Beauty every time you eat? God, when MC has to eat every day. Her beauty will be a disaster.

This is not a romance-focused work, this is all about living content at a peaceful world, raising kids, and a lot face slapping those who are fast to drag down others. Basically, slice of life.

The main character is over-powered, she has it all. Smarts, connections, and a tremendous luck in terms of meeting people.

Jealousy always made her name "hot" on headlines but after that is a face slap for those who attempted to. Kind of awkward about how quick and efficient this is but bah! Connections.

Her feelings in terms of... more>> snow white made me thumbs up because yes, I also think that even though blood is there, the times she spent together with her son is also true.

Spoiler

Not gonna lie, I was a bit confused with the jades. Are they only fillers? They only appeared for like 3-4 times. Probably appeared just for the sake of justifying the initial boost of the main character.

Plus the old couple in the last set of chapters, it was like after they agreed with Xia An's proposal, they went underground. Their presence is not apparent in terms of our little snow white. I thought they held deep feelings for her? No, mentions of this couple at all. 😂

How about our Fu Yu? (≧Д≦) I thought he would be an additional on her duckling collection. But not only did he go, he also brought the jades with him. So sad for this one. Haha, I really like the thought of having this. May he have good luck for his next reincarnation.

I see a lot of comments complaining about the lack of logic in the novel. But you must understand, this is a parody/comedy novel, you shouldn't take it too seriously. It somewhat resembles "I'm really a superstar", except there is no game system.

I giggled a lot while reading it. And although there is a dark story of children trafficking, nothing really bad happens to the children in the story.

I have to praise the ending of the story. It has suspense, and it was very satisfying. The last 50 pages brought... more>> a lot of emotions.

If you are tired of standard romance light novels, I recommend it (because there is no romantic plot in this one). <<less

It's a bit... boring. I read it and sure it doesn't make sense but my complaints aren't about that, I don't care if she's super lucky and extremely OP. The point of these stories is for one to be entertained and addicted but I couldn't even get myself to finish this, mayhaps one day if I find myself bored to death. It's not even funny so... there's no much point of reading this. I had hopes because it seemed to be taking a different direction to usual LNs, but they... more>> couldn't keep it interesting. The FL doesn't even seem to have a consistent personality besides loving money and food. The idea was good though, and I liked her going abroad too, but the author really really didn't do their research for that part. The American characters didn't make any sense, not that I care much, this really wasn't unbearable but it's just really boring, it's repetitive, imagine a spiral where the same type of conflicts happened but as the spiral expands her popularity increases. Well I don't know how many conflicts will keep happening, probably people coming at her business and stuff of the sort, I don't know but I don't really care at this point. Now I guess I see why some people force some romance in LNs, at least they keep the story interesting, here we have some children that could keep the story going but the children are just like extras. They all are 1D. Fake Villain Turned Into Cannon Fodder is much better, at least the family there seems to have more personality. Here the MC cares about the children and some heartwarming scenes are thrown in but it's nothing remarkable, the novelty of them being too OP eventually dies off. <<less

I agree with the others, it was repetitive. A few episodes in, I was already bored with story offerring nothing new. I just kept reading to reach the mc's interactions with the two cute kids and her i-dont-need-no-man-to-live speeches. I enjoyed her charachter even tho it was one-dimensional just like all the others. (And she was the focus in the entire novel, how did you managed that dear writer??)

I like the MC and the children and the story isn't that bad just annoying how much thoughtlessness the writer put in the plot development and the MC is TOO OP that the story became somewhat meaningless.

Spoiler

There a lot I can say many complains about the story from her fist appearance to the survival show to the cheat to the point that her son is also too op and that everything and everyone even the whole world are supposed to adapt to the MC. If there there any kind of conflict or someone or something that need to change it's definitely not going to be the MC and anyone trying to go against her is portrayed as evil. I'm not going to go much in details as liking and disliking are mostly about personal preferences but it's true that the story critically lacks some logic and some balance to the MC's powers or at least highlighting other characters a little so it don't look like a one-man show

If you like an overly OP MC with cute children and a simple plot with the MC always effortlessly winning you may like this story. <<less

First of all I kindly advise you to left your brain somewhere else before read this novel. There are so many illogical events in this novel but I can't say this novel isn't entertaining. This is pure for your entertainment, so many fluffy moments, cute interactions but don't expect something amazing. The first half of this novel will infuriating craps, all I able to say is endure it. The second half of this novel will get better. Especially in last 20 last chapters are the best! The dumb and reckless MC will be so much smarter and wiser. The ending is satisfying to me
Spoiler

MC will be beautiful, rich and single lady. You can be happy without spouse after all. Marriage isn't everyone last destination. ML is a jerk so to be with him isn't a happy ending for me

I LOVE IT!

A FL THAT DOESN'T NEED A ML.

This is the type of novel that I have been looking for. Most novels need FL's to have a ML to help them be a winner in life. But this, only needs the FL, cute son, and her cheats. NO ML NEEDED HERE. EXCUSE ME. 🤣 Xia An's personality is my type. She's a foodie and a strong and independent woman. She sticks to her principles. She may have been cold blooded as a result of living in the apocalyptic world but as... more>> she lives longer in the peaceful world, she has gone a bit soft.

Eating fatty foods makes her beautiful. That's one of her innate cheats. (God, I want one)

I do have to say that the novel is very biased to her. It's like things are achieved without much effort. Her beauty is enough to capture the people. (Mary Sue without the s*upidity)

I enjoyed it. Although I did skim through some chapters since I found it unimportant and redundant. But, overall, it's a good light read. <<less

A light and fun read. No romance which was new to me but I enjoyed it anyway. What I really liked and also hurt me a little was probably when the identity of the person inside Xingchen's head was revealed. Truly loved that part.

It's a realy good read. The story doesn't count as too long nor too short and it's refreshing toget away from romance for once. The plot is interesting and what I like most is how smooth each of the characters development is. The progress of characters & their morals are written naturally and the main character doesn't forget it's initial purpose to live comfortably, eat delicious food and such. Furthermore, the translation is good. It's really enjoyable to read this and pass time.

A no-ML novel in how a transmigrated woman changed the destiny of the characters and change the plot by using the information of the novel from her previous life. She empowered women to be strong and capable by... being pretty. Uh... well, I think it was 'subtly' suggested. Lol

I had to take several breaks from reading this novel because of the author's tedious explanations to cover plot holes or to add word count. Several elements did not make sense nor blended well but it wouldn't retract from the reading enjoyment... more>> (?) if you're not into details.

Spoiler

The ending was seriously lacking and also a bit ambiguous. It almost made it sound like the mother and son have a special relationship. Ugh! Seriously, the author should have just added a good ML instead.

It does not fall under the Romance category and I am not disappointed. Actually, the reason why I gave this novel 3 stars is because I skipped too many parts, sometimes even whole chapters. By this, I mean they weren't compelling enough for me to read so I had to skip them. The beginning was strong, the ending was VERY strong, but the middle part falls flat. I had to skip a lot, and just skim through the middle part because it was boring and I don't think it held... more>> importance to the plot of the story. However, this novel is a gem. It's a good light read and I will recommend it to those who like stories with children and parenting involved.

I would have given it 5 stars if the author decided to strengthen the middle of the story. I have no complains aside from that. I especially love how
Spoiler

The MC's son, Xingchen, lived a fulfilling life of being a chef for his mom, and for his mom ONLY. He actually achieved his dream. His mom-complex is very cute and endearing. The original story's main lead, Shumo, also had a happy ending.

Completed the entire novel and absolutely loved it! It's a little different than the typically transmigration novel since it doesn't revolve around romance. I have to say that's the most refreshing part! The relationship between the MC and her son was just too cute! Also the MC herself was so likeable! She likes what she likes and doesn't like what she doesn't like. Simple as that! Overall a good read that made me smile.
