This is a really easy and enjoyable read. Surprisingly, there's no ML! Our strong but (not really) delicate MC doesn't need that scum man back! Just one OP MC with the og heroine's golden fingers and novel knowledge raising the villain and male protagonist! I loved how the story explored the unmentioned, hidden bits to the original novel and tied up (most of) the loose ends.

Spoiler

I felt really sad for the original villain, Fu Yu. The author never cleared up on who Fu Yu/Xia Xingchen's true parents are. Originally, I thought he might be the male protagonist's illegitimate brother bc it's mentioned that the male protag looks like the villain in the early chapters... but they might be just meant they look the same age...

Anyway, the villain was actually reborn! but he couldn't control the child body, only being able to communicate with Xia Xingchen (child Fu Yu who got renamed by MC) in his head. He was envious of XXC's happy life with his mother (who died in the original novel) and wanted to at least leave his mark in this world for this loving mother by helping her with various things (creating skincare formulas, sending her the antagonist's black material etc).

When MC brought Fu Yu out to talk to him and have him leave the body... he actually let go quite easily (since he knows he can't be the same as XXC in this life) and his lines really ended me: "Why can you love Xiao Xing but not me? We are both the same person." "Call me Xiao Xing" "Where were you? Why didn't you appear in my world?" and when he finally let go but MC couldn't hear him anymore: "Will you be there in my next world?" really broke my heart. All he wanted was some TLC QAQ I wonder if there's a novel out there for him.....

I'm almost certain that if this was a QT, he'd reincarnate as MC's possessive ML shdjdhd plus with Xiao Bai and Xiao Hei saying they're contracted to MC's soul so they'll follow her in her future incarnations... *wink wink wink* but this will remain in my dreams pfft

One of the best novel I have read. Also unique cause FL didn't need a ML to have a happy ending and full of fluff, good novel to try and read. Warning just ahead, there was some mix up on the chapters where chap. 142 and 149 where supposed to be 242 and 249 so if your not careful you might be spoiled at the middle (if you don't like spoilers).

I would say that the only refreshing thing about this story is that there is no romance, none at all, there is no romantic ML.

That's it.

This story is a rendition of every single transmigration cliche Mary Sue character.

... more>> Don't misunderstand me, I enjoyed it a lot at the beginning and but I was getting tired and bored by the end, however the overall story is still quite entertaining.

I was reading some of the comments saying that it was the first time for them to read a story without a ML, but there was clearly a ML, the son. Obviously, it's not romantic, but it's a platonic male lead nonetheless.

The interactions are tooth-rotting sweet, the children are the highlight of the story a without a doubt. The face slapping felt tiresome to me at the end. The golden fingers and the cheat of the female lead were the most common overpowered in the whole genre.

This is perfect to read in between difficult stories, just turn off your brain and enjoy the cute children. <<less

I have mixed opinions about this story. Umm... well, let's start off with the good:

The MC has a consistent character setting where she doesn't get attached too easily, is estranged and uncaring to people who aren't in her chosen circle, and only moves against people once provoked by them. A lot of the initial face slapping is done incidentally, with the people essentially hitting themselves due to s*upidity. The MC doesn't care if people like her or not, insult her or not, etc., as long as they don't cross a... more>> line.

For people who like face slapping, there is a lot of it, in both small and large scale. At least every five chapters or so will have one small face slap event at minimum.

As other comments have said, and the tags will tell you,
Spoiler

there is no male lead in this story. Romance isn't in this at all. That's incredibly rare in a story like this, as they're usually romance novels with this format. But, no, she doesn't end up with anyone. You COULD say her son is the ML, in a way? Obviously, not in a romantic sense, but even once he's grown, they're joined at the hip. He's the platonic, familial ML.

[collapse]

The chapters are pretty short, and can be knocked out in 5-7 minutes each, so it's a good break-time fodder.

The twists are pretty good, too, though they're mostly revealed towards the end of the novel. There were also a couple of red herrings
Spoiler

such as that actor who people suspected may be ML and the real father. Why did he say they met before, anyway? s*upid wannabe ML, being all mysterious for nothing...

[collapse]
, which is fun.

As for the bad...

The story got a bit repetitious. If you love binging mild face slapping and illogically growing success of the MC, this is 93% of the story. 5% is her being cute with the kiddos, and the other 2% is the special flow progression at the end of the novel.

Right, I mentioned illogically growing success.
Spoiler

So, she first gets more popular because of that challenging variety show. I can see that. I'd watch it, and probably become a mild fan because she was competent on it. It's the segment in America I don't get. She basically filmed a blog of her and her kid eating and playing. I don't care how 'inhumanly beautiful' she is or if the kids are cute. That is super boring. I guess it should be about as popular as the house flipper show and other similar ones? But people in the U.S. were going gaga over it. The hollywood film, though, I kind of get. I'm a sucker for fighting scenes.

[collapse]

My main problem is that it feels incomplete. So, she came from a world with zombies. This backstory affects her temperament, her abilities, and her appearance (her golden finger). And, that's it. We don't even learn her sister's name, and only find out she has a boyfriend still taking care of her because of a passing thought from the MC. The original FL of the novel had golden fingers that were rather mystical in actuality, and reincarnation and alternate realities all exist, so I hoped the two worlds would somehow be more inclusive of each other.

Actually, if I had to say, this feels like the first arc in a quick transmigration novel. The MC didn't grow much, she just incidentally became rich and successful. I feel like there should be more to the story. Ah, well, I'm just nitpicking now. It's not a bad read, if you've got time on your hands and want something simple to satisfy your face-slapping cravings. <<less

Turns to I'm wrong! But I'm not dissatisfied at all. The only flaw this novel have is that the FL is to OP.

The face-slapping delivered beautifully. Compared to other face-sleeping transmigration novel this is a short and fresh one!

If a strong individual FL, transmigration theme, and child care theme is your cup of tea l, do give it a try! Happy reading!

Everything in this novel goes perfectly for the MC, to the point where it's almost comedic. Unfortunately, that part isn't supposed to be comedic. Honestly, if the author made all these ridiculous face-slapping and convenient opportunities part of a joke, this would be so much better than what it is - a novel in which everything exists to please the MC.

Reading this feels like frying brain cells. All of the characters are two-dimensional and don't get enough time to actually develop. Take the MC's son, for example. You'd think he... more>> would play a really big part in the story but nope, no character development at all to be had with him. He basically is there to be a golden finger and to get jealous when the author feels like having another no-brainer drooling over the MC. <<less

It was great to find this treasure. The main female character is really well written, and the characters are completely made according to the story, not exaggerated or off the mark.

And for the children I really like they all... It's just sad that the main children still have no love interest and just keep together with her mother until the end, when Gu Shimo and female main character daughter will married in the last chapter... (Well because this novel have no ML, sometimes I think the main children is the... more>> ML...)

Surprisingly enjoyable. If you're looking for something that can relieve at least a little stress from your life, this one is recommended. After reading the whole thing, I get the Josei tag. At first I thought it was going to be your typical Chinese web novel with all the face slapping and unreal plot and characters, and in some ways it kind of is, I still thoroughly enjoyed this.

Pros - the MC isn't the only 'good' woman. There are a ton of women-supporting-other-women characters, despite the main villain in this... more>> story being *gasp* another woman lol. Light humour. Heart-warming scenes. Face-slapping in the best way. Women being strong and independent, very josei.

I've read similar chinese web novels to this but those were mostly with the FL being backed by her almighty god-like ML.

Cons - if you're a bit sensitive to political incorrectness and a few problematic themes, there are a few scenes that might make you uncomfortable. There is the usual Asian obsession with white jade like skin as the ultimate standard of beauty. Obsession with face-value trumps everything. But if I wanted a deep analysis on inherent misogyny and writing that combats it, I wouldn't be reading this lol.

Honestly, recommended for a good time. <<less

I know its a bit of a low rating, but there was a lot of chapters where it felt like the author just wanted to bring up the word count. I really did enjoy the MC's personality and the interactions with her kid. But there were barely anything written about it, it was more about how OP she was and how amazing and pretty she was. There were heaps of plot holes. Ok honestly, there wasn't that much of a plot.

Don't expect romance anywhere. There were some parts I really... more>> enjoyed, like how the MC just went at her own pace.

Spoiler

Really enjoyed it when she was on the zombie variety show, the way they described some scenes were really cool. But after that the quality dropped massively.

[collapse]

The story is basically about a girl that was transmigrated from an apocalyptic world to a novel that her sister had read. She doesn't have much attachment to anything aside from eating well and living comfortably. Along the way she looks after her "instant son". She gets revenge for the original owner with
Spoiler

Great story. Really fun read. First chapter was a little confusing, but once you get a feel for the set-up and suspend your disbelief, it's a really fun ride. The MC is strong, confident and straightforward. She knows what she wants and she spares no effort to do it. It's super convenient that she has the right skill set to overcome anything in her way, but it's still great.

The antagonists are a little silly and short-minded, but they provide some good face slapping material.

Well I enjoy it as much being disappointed

i thought the as*hole father is the ML but NO he isn't

to make things clear the poor original xia an was so much abused indirectly from the FL and the reason the FL blamed her (both of them where kidnapped but Xia an somehow rescued while the FL didn't and xia an got adopted by the FL family and lived with them for many years before the FL get back and make schemes and drove her out of the family + steal her boyfriend and to make it worst xia an was pregnant with girl from the boyfriend so the FL switch the baby And was planing to sell the girl to child trafficking before I think the grandma interferes so the FL left the baby girl beside some building in the winter ❄️ and the cleaner found the girl and adopted her)

For years no body knows about this even xia an didn't know

the boyfriend droved out the child after making a parenting test and know he wasn't the father

what makes me very angry that after the boyfriend knows the truth from the mouth of FL he just said to FL he is gonna divorce her and just disappeared. The author didn't mention anything else about him !!! I mean hallow your daughter was in a place god know where and u didn't even bother to search for her nor punish the culprit (your ex wife) nether said sorry to Xia an

author I wonder where is your reasoning

the only thing make me pleased that xia an (the one inside her body) took revenge on FL and her family < she make them bankrupt and buyed their company become successful and super rich, found the daughter and took the daughter with the adoptive daughter parents to Live in US and raised the boy well

so well it deserves 3 stars I would give it 4 stars if it didn't lack the holes ? I just mentioned />n</

It was alright reading this book, it had the same old cliche of being reborn and getting rid of opponents overall plotline. At most I can only give it a 3 for this book, because while I have nothing in specific to strongly criticize about, this writing is extremely lacking. It is good enough to pass time while on a tedious train or plane ride kind of thing but not worth getting too engaged into.

First off, the writing is not the best. It does not have any strong points, and... more>> the ineffective use of same old cliches like golden fingers, plot armor, excessive good luck to the point of being rewarded even though they don't deserve it. The golden finger of eating to become prettier was creative though, it sounds like something everyone be jealous of. Like being prettier is not exactly what I want but the bare minimum of not getting pimples after eating fried chicken. One can wish you know. Otherwise I do not see any creativity plot wise. There is nothing for me to compliment here. The character's I want to be lazy but comfortable attitude is also a little annoying and none of the characters in the story have personality, not even the kid. The kid is like oh I am a little genius but there is nothing more substantial. I also don't particularly like how they look down upon hardworking people in this story and they celebrate people who get lucky.

Spoiler

I remember one of her fans being proud that MC is not like 'other' celebs, willing to go to any lengths to gain a job opportunity. And she starts a skincare brand and uses herself as an ambassador even though she rarely uses skincare, is ethically, and morally questionable. I mean even if she used a little bit of the spring water for effect testing it will not be that strange, but she does not use any at all. Also she just ends up picking up the male lead of original novel just by luck and asks his grandpa to help set up a company likeeee....

[collapse]

This story is full of delusion with regards to success. I am sorry honey but it doesn't work that way irl, and you needs to sacrifice and work to the bone to get even a small slice of that pie. There are also plenty of plot holes. Like one minute xiao xing is her kid and another he is not? They also use the she is from the doomsdays excuse way too much, like it is not selling it at all.

A three because was it a cliche good enough for me to pass my time with? Yes. If you are bored out of your mind or you are absolutely craving a Mary sue cliche in this genre, go ahead. <<less

This story focus 'mother' not the raising a child type

I liked Xia An in the first 100+ chap

But then author had to forced Xia An, who said she didn't want to work in showbiz, to work in showbiz. She just show her face value and all famous brand name wanted to work with her (ꏿ﹏ꏿ;)

Kind of annoy how author portrayed entertainment industry in this novel. At first it's still ok to me but after the fashion week thingy, I hated it. So I kind of skimmed my way to... more>> the end.

In fact I think you can skip the time she worked aboard and read after she went back to China and completely established her company. Cause the plot in between is just Xia An did something worth the praise then people blackened her then her PR team counterattacked it.

the ending is so weird though I don't mind ten y/o boy wants to be close with his mother, or being possessive with mommy. But twenty-something and still this level mom-con (-_-;) ・・・

It's a 5 star story with notable flaws.

To understand the flaws you first you need to know what it's trying to be. The story's target goal is to be a Mary Sue face slapping novel. The MC transmigrates back from the apocalypse, she is overpowered and has ridiculous cheats (she eats to become more beautiful amongst other things). OK the Mary Sue part is pretty much there from page 1. The problem is with the face slapping. For a face slapping novel the targets need to generate massive amounts of... more>> antipathy. In this case those getting their faces slapped are rather pitiful. You definitely get the feeling the MC is punching down a bit. There is reason to dislike the antagonists but by any standard they have just been driven insane. It does spoil what could have been a completely fun read.

Aside from this big flaw, the rest of the novel is great. It has ridiculous entertainment circle, adorable children, fun wealth p*rn, beauty p*rn, it's well written and a very easy read. The pacing is great and overall it's just great fun.

Bottom Line: A mostly fun read. <<less

Awesome novel..... love this story..... if u are looking for a strong FL, with child, and a good slice of life genre then I strongly recommend this novel....

And don't read this novel if you are looking for romance and ML. Because these elements you won't found in this novel... if you are like me, who like women can live very much happier even without a ML than read this novel....

Don't mind those negative comments, these are posted by those people who can't find romance between FL and ml, that's frustrated... more>> them, and those negative comments are the result of it....

The MC has super mary sue protagonist halo, wherever she went, she got lucky, whoever saw her fell for her, well except for the villain, of course, who serve as rocket launcher, which means the villain planned to burn her but instead set her to rocket upward.

If there were any 3rd POV of this novel, I would actually thinking of a plot that her golden finger is some kind of 'hypnosis spell' which would work to whoever gaze upon her, lol. This story is mostly told from her first POV,... more>> she didn't seem to be a bad character though

Well logically, a traffic celebrity without any real work would not so easily become a hot search every single time she did anything anywhere, there is a limit to a popularity only based on a face value, I think

Spoiler

There is a part when she shoot a variety show in a foreign countries, no one knew her, but with just 1 blog photo and 1 tweet from a popular playboy, everyone and media just went to storm into wherever she might be, thereafter she just become popular, a big paid tv network can't wait to bind her to his own station, then everyone just suddenly interested and enjoy her 'daily life' shooting very much. As for me, I don't think I would ever interested in a fake daily life shoot of some unknown traffic celebrity.. I dunno.. I said it's 'fake daily life', since, her real daily life standard isn't such a queen's daily life standard

Overall, it's an enjoyable read. The face-slappings are quite satisfying. Just, do not employ any logic or commonsense when reading, or you would not be able to enjoy this story <<less
