Tao Xi knew the fate of being deliberately exchanged at birth by his “mother” in the third year of middle school. He lived in daze, until he saw Lin Qinhe of Wenhua No.1 High School, a prestigious school thousands of kilometers away, on the remote live broadcast screen of a high school in a poverty-stricken county.

I'm so happy that I found this amazing and heartwarming story. A unique storyline, very sweet couple. I'm very thankful for dear auther and dear translator for bringing this lovely, sweet story. One day.. One person will appear in your life to bring you happiness, courage, lots of love and a great feeling of security. Make sure to cherish that person and those feelings.. THE FIRST FEW CHAPTERS ALMOST MADE ME DROP THE NOVEL.

It was so angtsy to me that I started to feel suffocated. At some point, the MC disappointed me but thankfully I did not stop reading. As I read the novel, I began to understand MC.

The author has their own way of choking you both from micro angst and fluffiness. Give this novel a shot.

Btw, this novel is well-written and has a good translation.

MTL completed, readability 85%.

Somehow it felt like it was a blessing in disguise that MC was switched at birth.

Following the life trajectory of the canon fodder (YD), if MC stayed by ML side since the beginning, perhaps they won't end up together. This was not a very moving or heartwarming novel, it was kinda simple in its complexity.

Just finished reading the extra and honesty, I'm very satisfied with this story. I started this story 2 days ago if I remember correctly and when I picked this one to read I really had no idea I would cry so much while reading it.

It's just the author has written the unfairness so f*cking well that I just can't help but cry for our MC and the unfairness of life. I loved the fact, that the MC wasn't the usual "will forgive and forget everything". He had... more>> a strong character and I am happy that he knew wat stuff he shouldn't forgive people for. This is one of the main reasons why I find that even tho this story used one of the plots that have been used in many other stories too (babies being switched) it was still interesting and nice to read.

I couldn't help but be angry and bitter thoughout the novel for all the grievances our MC and also ML had to suffer thru. But in the end, I'm just happy that they got they happily ever after and now they r together and would take care of each other. Also the last extra was a good surprise and I feel it really tied up all the feelings for me and I'm just feeling very happy and melancholic now.

Melancholic because the novel is finished and I have to move on now too. Move on and read another story. But I would remember this couple and wish them the best! It was a pleasure reading your story and I definitely recommend this novel to everyone to read!

You know an author is good when she or he can evoke feelings with just a few words. You empathize with the characters and are worried for them. And in this novel, the author did exactly that. This novel is so beautiful because of the emotions of the characters. The plot itself is pretty old; we have read many such stories, but the MC's feelings are so real. I felt everything that MC felt. My heart ached for him. Some may say that he is petty, proud, stubborn, and even... more>> a little bit manipulative. But he is just a teenager whose world was changed forever; his life was ruined; he was robbed; and he lost so many precious things. Other people in his position could have acted so much worse. But he didn't cling to what could have happened; instead, he just wanted to be with his moon. He achieved everything by himself. Sometimes he was even a little bit naive, despite everything he went through. And Ml, he seems so strong, but he too suffered because of unreliable adults. I really liked this novel; it is written so well. Characters are amazing. I would definitely recommend it to people who enjoy such stories. <<less

I remember reading this story a while back, but never wrote a review, so had to re-read. And when I say that this is truly one of the most touching and heartfelt stories... my heart ached so much for Tao Xi our lovely MC. He tries so hard and he’s so sincere with his feelings towards the ML. The way that he rose above the circumstances that he was handed unfairly at birth and was able to still treat life with such an optimistic mindset... amazing.

This story is set in... more>> high school, with the characters in their second year, so they are all still figuring themselves out and not too confident yet. The MC is written so realistically for a boy who has moved from the countryside and is confronted with the most depressing situation of the boy he is in love with being childhood friends with the boy he was swapped at birth with. Literally what are the odds for this, I don’t know how I could have coped.

There are so many tender and honestly heart wrenching moments in this story, I definitely cried multiple times with MC. The ML is definitely way too perfect and his abilities are frankly unrealistic for a 17 year old (I mean come on he has a secretary?? Are you kidding me) but I did love his character growth in regards to how he treated the MC. His behavior is a little confusing and it doesn’t feel very well explained why he treated MC poorly when he’s also been saving all the love letters from MC but also he is a kid in high school so that could explain it. But then again he acts like an overbearing CEO more than a high schooler so I don’t know what to do with that haha

Anyways if a story makes me cry like this, it’s always going to get five stars from me no matter how weird a character design is, because how a story makes me feel is always the most important, and this story made me feel so much. <<less

No idea why this had such a flood of bad reviews??

this is not a face-slapping novel or a revenge one. It’s more about finding love and a person to call your family. Both MC and ML want to be loved and cherished and they finally finally find that with each other.

It's a great novel which clearly depicts feeling like desire, determination, jealousy. MC was depressed after knowing about his birth period, at that time when he was at lowest, he made some his goal. The story tells how we got our strength from our idol, light. ML was also pitiful, his mother made him a tool to compensate her dead friend.

I love it sooooooo much.

This is my first time writing a review for a novel bit this novel is so amazing, from when they met and how their love began 10/10 for me.

The love between Tao Xi and Lin Qinhe is so pure and cute.

The author is also amazing, keep the good work up can't wait to read more of your novels.

I highly recommend it. I couldn't stop reading, the story is very compelling and the characters have depth. The MC is a teenage boy who experienced a bleak childhood but still managed to grow into a proper young man. I feel that the way his emotions are portrayed, including his resentment and frustrations are more realistic than in other novels where the MC is shown as very forgiving and kind like a pure white lotus. ML also has a reason for his personality and even while he initally appears cold we can also see glimpses of his true feelings. I also like how the author didn't make it so that everything can be easily fixed, that there are always things that have become lost opportunities and that MC and ML are well aware of that and have made peace with that reality. <<less

This was a touching and engaging novel. Both the MC and ML were delt with the shorter end of a stick but they grew up to be good and responsible people. I loved how the MC worked hard to be able to meet the ML and how the ML responded to him.

It was a good read.

I JUST WANT TO SAY THAT YOU SHOULD DEFINITELY GIVE THIS STORY A CHANCE!! STOP GIVING BAD REVIEWS IF YOU'RE NOT EVEN HALFWAY THROUGH THE STORY YET!!!!

God, the people who made the reviews about hating the MC in the first 10-15 chapters are just clueless. Those would have been on a rollercoaster of emotions once they continued the story. | End of rant|

THIS MIGHT BE ONE OF MY FAVOURITE BL I'VE READ SO FAR IF WE TALKED ABOUT VERY COMPLICATED RELATIONSHIPS AND CHARACTERS THOUGH THE STORY MAINLY AROUND THE MC... more>> AND ML.

I just want to give both of my babies, tao xi and lin qinhe, a veerrrrrry warm and the tightest hug. They deserve all the happiness in the world. Their codependency might be concerning but they're just still teenagers so let's just give them a pass for that and I know in their future they will be both very successful and independent individuals ❤️

Its so good that I even forgot how to sleep HAHA!

Yes, its a bit angsty and painful but not to the point of having a mental breakdown.

Its just about the MC and his insecurities. And mind you, our ML is not a perfect ML with a perfect life.

I like how raw their feelings were and also how broken they both are.

I sometimes love broken things and how they both glue it back together and be each other's strength. So good!

I read this few months ago but I forgot to rate it so I came here to give the rating it deserves. This is one of those story that will leave a very deep impression and u will remember all the major events in the story in fact even the small details.

I'm not good at giving review but still I wanna share few words to those who hesitates to read this masterpiece like me (cos of that one review which I regretted terribly)

I read the review that said the... more>> MC is too head over heels for the ML which he sometimes forgets and lowered himself and that is one of my pet peeves when it comes to characters. Cos I believe in equal footing in relationship but after I read the novel I didn't really see what was the reviewer was talking about? MC infatuation towards the ML is understandable. He was the light that pull him from the abyss + with his mental condition at the moment it was understandable. Yes, in the beginning the ML did treat him coldly but that was just misunderstanding of his character which was resolved in a well manner pretty quickly imo. Later they became friends and got closer and the ML showered him with affection and love that you couldn't even ask for more like the ML truly and deeply loves the MC it makes you sour and sweet at the same time.

Now let's talk about The MC, he is a very strong person imo like it If I was him I don't think I could just stand there and watch another person "stealing" what's should have been mine. Like I never want to hug a fictional character so bad 😭 he deserved all the love and kisses and hugs which thankfully the ML gives him all of that.

Damn that's a pretty long rant but anw this is a beautifully written story of two broken soul who find heals in each other and strive to move forward from their terrible past and overcame it with love and warmth, read sooner or regret is waiting for u 😂 <<less

There are parts I love about the story, and parts that dragged. I thought the characters were beautifully created. I loved the ml, and I liked the MC as well when he was desperately trying to just live his best life.

I thought the author didn't properly explain Fang Sui, the person who started all this drama. Perhaps I have read too many rebirth stories, but this mysterious mother that everyone is obsessed with seems overly idealized, a bit fake, and a bit manipulative. Though her best friend is supposedly guilty,... more>> it almost feels like she was actually in love. And the boyfriend/fiancé who supposedly can't forget her. Her parents who feel eternally guilty for not letting her have her child (with a perfectly respectable guy...). How much she gets mentioned lovingly is how much skepticism I have towards this type of character. No one who runs away to a remote village to paint and have a child away from good access to healthcare, parents, or significant other (for what is probably a good 6-7 months without telling anyone) is being considerate of others or her unborn child.

On the other hand, the importance of giving a hand, but not taking freebies at face value, is a great moral that is woven throughout this story. The story also touches on the impact of depression, and dangers of trying to mask it; the unfairness of trying to make up to the dead with those alive; the dangers of turning someone into an effigy for someone or something else. <<less

Arghhhhhhhh. You really need to read this. Such a beautiful story. I really enjoyed reading this. Already repeated twice but I still cry during the sad part. I really love the MC character. He is a hard working person and someone that is not easy to be bully. ML is someone that is so supportive for the MC. I wish I have my own ML like this one. Translation is superb. First of incredible translation! With a lot of insight on what the original Chinese text tried to convey.

The first half of the story is a full 5/5 but I Do not enjoy how the "villian" were written and treated in the end. It seems like a very childish approach when compared how realistic and mature the first half.

I do not think that yang Duan (I'm bad with names sorry) would honest to God try such a weird plot of getting rid of our MC. It would've been so much better if we got a pov from his side how afraid he is to lose his family and being afraid of the consequences. I just can't get behind on the ending and how all the characters acted in the end.

The last 10 chapters truly were just there to show horrible the adults are.

Heartwarming and very lovely, a journey filled with laughter, tears and redemption.

I feel sad for the MC, his "adoptive" parents especially the mom should've been more nicer to him out of guilt and to compensate for what they had done but instead they neglected him and made him feel unloved. BUT I feel that the ML's life was equally miserable, dang! (╯°□°) ╯︵ ┻━┻ Also, the story revolves around the MC and... more>> ML, the side characters are almost non-existent in my opinion. 3/5 stars missed the stars somehow. This is my first review

These are just my thoughts. Choose to read it or not based on whether you find the premise of the story interesting and whether you like the writing style. Reviews are subjective

There was a lot of nuance around this story that I wish had been given life. This was a rough one. It started off well for me actually. I really liked the idea of the characters and the story and the prose. It's an interesting premise. But by... more>> the end it all felt a bit hollow and I sort of didn't like the main couple or the families. They devolved into characters I didn't think they would and I fell out of infatuation with them. The conclusion felt rushed and hollow. I'm not the author so I don't know what message they were trying to convey from this story but there was soo much to unpack within it. So much character opportunities to dissect humans and the way they operate in such situations. I even found myself feeling bad for Yang Duole towards the end. He was an interesting character that I wish was fleshed out more or even just given a more detailed conclusion. I'll refrain from spoilers but I feel his situation was handled so poorly it hurts.

It all felt very fairy tale by the end of it. Sweeping issues under the rug and arranging for things to look perfect. Another character who missed out on great expansion and deep diving into their development was Lin Qinhe. I mean the little of his story was already a lot packed into such a small space but then he just became an NPC. I mean this person has been living in the shadow of his mothers dead lover and their son and was basically neglected. There's barely mention on how complex this must be for him aside from it being mentioned a few times.

Or rather he did have regard it just could have been such a beautiful thing to explore it. He felt so robotic. Cold characters also have emotions that can be explored. The beauty of literature is the ability to delve into the minds of the characters. We barely even know his thoughts or feelings around things. He was mostly just doing things.

Tao Xi initially had a strong character impression and I was excited to read more of him and his development but he lost me somewhere halfway. He wasn't under or overwhelming he sort of just fizzled and I was no longer as interested in him. At some point his way of just folding to things "because he can't refuse the ML" was a bit uncomfortable. He lost his identity and just became whatever ML says goes for the most part. This may be his character design especially already given how fixated he was on ML from the beginning, just acknowledging that it made the story a bit flat without more of his character imprint. Anyway it was a nice story nonetheless. The romance was cute, a little sudden though. They're both lonely people who yearned for someone to look only at them and they found each other.

I still appreciate the authors hard work and their dedication and writing. To many more successful stories for them. I did read the authors note about external factors in their life influencing things which is unfortunate. Wishing them the best. <<less
