Pretty fun!

The main focus of the story is actually the plot. There's basically no romance until the end. The entire time I was wondering when the ML was going to show up, but he was there all along. 😂 I'm happy they all got their happy ending though.

The plot is pretty interesting! Many playfields are showing up, yet Shen Si, who isn't a Survivor, seems to be inexplicably intertwined with them... No one knows why, not even Shen Si himself.

The characters are interesting too. MC overall seems disinterested and detached... more>> to everything around him, but there is a reason for that. The side characters actually have personality, which is great. There aren't any annoying canon fodder that just seek death.

Overall, fun read! <<less

An amazing book!
Spoiler

The ending was satisfying as they remembered what happened (in a dream), the only regret I had when the MC wanted to reset the timeline! This book was steady and calm, the survival games were fantastic, but one thing that wasn't as good was the fact that the MC and ML didn't have too any romance scenes. Even so, the rating would be 4.98/5, which is near 5.

Pros :

The setting is hella interesting. Lowkey like the exes trope. The MC is an unique individual. He's a man of mysteries. MC is a frank and to the point person, he thinks logically, too logically that sometimes it made him inhumane. The ML is kinda stalker-ish but still in the acceptable spectrum. ML is always there for MC and I just think that ML is a misunderstood cinnamon roll.

The other characters are nice. They do their own stuff and actually got things done. They always help MC everytime he... more>> went into a play field.

The pacing of this novel is *chef kiss* I finished this in 2 days while ignoring a bunch of assignment. I must say that t'was worth it. Each chapter made me more and more invested in the story.

Cons :

We don't get much romance. Kinda sad about it cus you rarely found a novel where the main protags start as exes. On the other hand
Spoiler

they actually had 6 lifetimes of romance, in which MC went w ML into the infinite world

Definitely give this a shot, it's a fresh read and you'll get more than what you bargained. The synopsis kinda misleading tho. <<less

I love this novel because of the plot is kind of unique because this novel is not the kind of; throwing dog food everywhere that sometimes it became a plot hole because of negligence of the details of other scenes.

Reading this novel is comfortable because the author know when to insert romance in the plot naturally.

It's really unique. It doesn't follow the usual trope of MC crossing through various world's/levels (as one would expect in a 'typical' unlimited flow novel) but rather the 'players/Survivors' of the said game return to the real world, bringing along those 'games/playfields' with them. At first I thought it would be 'harem' based (well- we get to see 3 S-Rank survivors all linked to the MC, who could be considered the strongest of all players). Albeit the lines not being drawn that clearly, there is only 1 ML who is

Initially the MC doesn't seem anything out of the ordinary (well, going by the plot he is the most ordinary) and gradually gains abilities through those playfields he experiences. He later on goes on to become OP, even way more than our MLs. The concept of each playfield could be considered unique but I did find similarities to that of other unlimited flow novels. I, wasn't really satisfied with the ending of the main story but

The premise and plot was interesting, but I felt like the characters weren't the most interesting... and the interesting ones weren't given much attention.

It was heavily focused on the MC. The MC is the cold/ambitionless type at first, which isn't very interesting to read. Although there was a reason for the MC's personality being like this, the reveal didn't hit very hard. The ML and other S-ranks mentioned in the summary also weren't exciting enough to carry the story since the MC was a bit bland (on purpose by the... more>> author, but still not super fun to read about). I think Bai Junyi (God of Light S-rank) was the most interesting and fleshed out despite the author trying to focus on the MC and ML. I think the part I liked best was his extra chapters at the end. I actually had more interest in some of the side characters, but most of them weren't focused on RIP.

It was also a bit confusing to read at times (not talking about the mystery, but overall flow) and felt kinda chunky occasionally. The descriptions of abilities were also a bit shallow, and their usage a bit uncreative. It just kinda felt like the abilities were there to explain how OP the S-ranks are and why they deserve so much fanfare.

The plot twist was good, but I just couldn't get excited by the novel. Great idea/premise/worldbuilding, but awkward execution. Pretty decent to read, but I didn't enjoy it very much. The romance was also a bit... last-minute although there was plenty of buildup. I wasn't invested in it, but I appreciate how the MC remained friends with Bai Junyi and no harem route / people falling in love in the MC randomly happened. <<less

Reviews said not to expected any major romance but I still had expectations, so that's on me and I didn't count it towards the rating.

The rating is based on the mastery that the author showed over their plot, the writing style and the depth of characterisation. Which I rate as very good, just not masterpiece-level excellent.

The writing style is smooth and flows well. At times it's even poetic.

The characterisation is well thought-out and well-structured. Even when I started thinking it was whammy, it picked itself back up by giving proper... more>> justification, so I ended up liking it. I wanted more background romance though, especially the origin story of Jian Nian's obsession with Shen Si.

The plot was, for the most part, compelling and interesting, but, as the author says in the end, it got a few holes here and there. <<less

Ahoy mates! Iʼm back with yet—another ramble! Iʼm quite proud to announce it here that I immediately went to write this right away after finishing this book!

Spoiler

Unrelated, just complaining.

Although I did delay this too and only found it three or four days ago. Thank god I was already half into this book years ago, or I wouldʼve dumped it! Wanna know why? Itʼs because of the damn website!!! I know I canʼt criticize the website but I just had to! Iʼm sorry! Some paragraphs wonʼt load so I had to clear out my cache four or five times a chapter. Thatʼs why Iʼm glad I already read about half of it. 115 chapters being read like that? No thanks! I started from 55 and thatʼs already torturing me to death!

I originally found and read this on Wattpad, oops. But it was deleted so I had to look for the actual website it was translated at. Thank god again the plot is wonderful and engaging or I would not have willingly suffered for three/four days straight.

[collapse]

So thatʼs quite long. Yes, as usual. Anyway, youʼll probably like this if you like Omniscient Readerʼs Viewpoint/ORV. Itʼs sorta like that except much shorter, simpler (not really, but if compared, sure) , and has an actual romance although no actions of that except hugs. THATʼS CUTE THO, HEHET.

Spoiler

—And some serious longing/suffering of 7 lifetimes/140 years, goddamn it. Just why in the world do I always like this damn trope—I need some serious therapy, I acknowledge it. Dang it.

[collapse]

It plays with time since Shen Si (MC) has that ability. You might dislike his attitude thatʼs cold and indifferent. At first. But heʼs also kind despite being very heartless to ML. Thatʼs literally why I reduced 0.5 from my rating. His kindness came from his own acknowledgement that morality is a must and is practiced by every humans. He thinks of it as sort of a responsibility. Other than that, no thank you.

Thereʼs a reason behind his coldness and indifference, definitely. Still, I feel bad for ML since he kept treating him like a ghost (non-existent) in the beginning. At first I liked it, and thought of it as a joke that will went along in the book. But as I went on and kept reading MLʼs sincerity to MC that kept being rejected, I changed my mind and feel sad for him. Truly. Huhuhu. Thank god at last MC finally gave him a chance and dropped the bomb. If not, I would give this book a damned four stars!

Spoiler

I guess I relate a lot to ML with how we both kept facing disappointment in our lives. And with MC, I also relate to him about disliking how my lifeʼs roads are being determined by others. I always face disappointment whenever things/stuffs donʼt go my way and thus I relate a lot with them. However, MC doesnʼt feel disappointment and he just purely hates fate. He will do anything to do/achieve what he wants and this novel proves it. Which was why I like it since Iʼm quite powerless like Jian Nian, haha.

[collapse]

I am amazed that I actually missed the hints author dropped along the way. Well, I do read novels for fun, hahaha. When I reached the climax I realized that it was hinted all this time. All of MCʼs behavior had reasons, and when the climax happened I was shook since I almost didnʼt expect it. Only some paragraphs before the huge plot twist was revealed that I got a guess and it proved to be correct.

Overall, I stumbled upon this in Wattpad and it managed to catch my attention with its beautiful cover and catching description. For me. I dropped it for years and I didnʼt even realize it had been deleted until I suddenly wanted to read it. Perhaps it was three or two years, maybe more.

My favorite characters would be Cheng Xiangwen, Xia Leyu and Jian Nian, perhaps. I canʼt help it, I really do love funny characters too damn much!

Spoiler

I like MCʼs quote about time that the past canʼt be changed and we could only look forward to the future. I thought it was just him receiving enlightenment but it was the biggest hint of all that the author dropped, damn it!

When climax happened I finally got a ridiculous thought. Shen Si had already accepted the past, so why would he reverse time just to change the history if he had accepted it long ago? I was probably too tired about the website to analyze the clues properly! Well, the author definitely did a great job and thatʼs undeniable. I guess I canʼt expect it even if I have a proper and comfortable reading circumstances.

[collapse]

The games/playfields are nice too, and are definitely unique. The psychological tag is on the point for every one of them! If you like ORV, you should probably like this as well. Thatʼs my opinion. Adios, matey! 4.5 stars from me! <<less

I just can't get into it. The premise sounded so interesting and the 3 power guys are full of potential, but the MC is just so blah. He has an almost robotic feeling where he feels like an empty shell that is trying to act like a person. I am sure that there is an explanation for it and if I read further I could understand and maybe grow to love the story as it develops, but at this time, I just don't have an interest in mining for gold.... more>> Every chapter is a struggle. His reactions and the things he says don't draw any interest from me.

There is nothing to like or dislike about the MC at this point. He feels like a placemarker for the author to come back and flesh out.

The translators did do a great job. <<less

This is really a good one. I like every moment in this novel. I don't think that this is a romance-focused novel since for the most part, it was the ML being so in love with the MC while the MC is kind of indifferent but you can see that he cares. Anyway, the plot is good. The world-building and the plot twist were amazing. Reading this was enjoyable and totally worth it.

3.5 rounded up bc I'm nice. You heard it here.

This was the progression of the novel for me: beginning (intriguing, some plotholes I'm willing to forgive, engaging) to dummies scenario (pinnacle best writing leading up to it, during, and the after effect) to leading to the end (scenarios getting increasingly weaker in storytelling and writing for reader engagement, meandering aka kinda boring, I feel like the author doesn't know how to end this, me skimming just to get..) to The End (oh the author figured out how to end this yay. It's not bad I guess?)

It's not great writing, but it's not bad. Like I said, it had some great moments. And throughout, it had failures on logic in the name of plot progession that I ignored because I'm... more>> being nice for some reason. It lacks the author awareness of the end because the lack of foreshadowing. Like dude how is it that there's a random guy in the last 5 chapters that we finally know is the leader of secret union? Lol that was like this is why. This is not the best I've ever read.

But it is good. Enough. Yes put your daddy issues aside book, I told you are good enough. The characters are good and fleshed out except for the poor cousin lol, guess he is a minor gotta keep him safe. A couple scenarios were very interesting although all of them had holes except for the dummy one imo.

I think if you're like me and you hate those ultimate flow horror stories because I don't like how how a person is supposed to just get into one and another without a real break and I distain when people are always against each other, then you'll might like this better because it feels more grounded.

Honestly the second half of the book was weak for me so I would personally give this a 3, but I rounded it up because I'm nice and recognize the author's ambition even though they couldn't really execute it. <<less

One of the flaws of this novel was that it was lacking. Or maybe my desire for it to not end. And the romance huhu it's more of a sub-plot than anything. The ending seemed especially rushed? Anyways, it did hook my interest enough for me to stay up all night for days straight so I could read it all and well, there are some boring parts but it's all good in my opinion.

5/5 for translation because it's ER.

Probably a 3.5 out of 5? I think it's a good story that got me engrossed, in fact so engrossed that I stayed up till 5am and finished this novel within 24h. What I found a bit lacking is the romance element, yes, romance is the sub-plot, I know. Perhaps if I entered reading this novel without much expectations for the romance then the scoring wouldn't have been affected. Even though I think the story and premise are interesting, I don't think is a story I will revisit, though I... more>> definitely didn't regret reading it. The most impactful moment I felt is like what the translator mentioned, the breaking up despite being together for 6 cycles. Even as an unlimited flow novel I feel that it is also slightly lacking, perhaps I prefer plots with a little more logic, like Card Room? <<less

A good unlimited flow story. Sure there were some loop holes but it was an interesting ride.

Spoiler

When I read the synopsis I thought MC doesn't do much. But I'm really glad I was wrong. MC is the most important character in this story. Even though he is related with 3S rank survivors they don't do much in the plot. MC's character development was well done.

Just like what others’ said, this story is very interesting and worth reading. Although it has some flaw, it was still bearable to read. The synopsis was indeed quite misleading as I also thought that this story has a comedic tone but nevertheless, I still enjoyed reading it.

Probably the most interesting in terms of survival genre. The world is going to a big change and seemingly ordinary MC got caught up in the change. MC might have a really stiff personality but really what makes up is the horror what the novel called playfield. 4.5 stars! It was a fast-paced exciting read for the first 50 chapters and it gradually veers into the speculative mystery in the latter half which worked out for me. I read this in multiple sittings and needed to digest what was going on. The playfields are the main stars in this book and I can tell the author thoroughly planned out the details and loopholes. The main characters are somewhat lacking in depth and personality, and readers never get a well-rounded backstory to flesh out their interests, beliefs, and... more>> understanding of what makes them tick. Shen Si is always kind and wishing for a better future and I like that he kept that integrity during unfair gameplay and even while the world went to shit. He's an OP character that makes sense and I especially enjoyed the finale where he destroys. The story is not without its cliches such as scenes of Shen Si winning a playfield, saving people,

I read this book in one week despite having exams... It just shows how great the story is!

The plot is really well done with many unexpected events. When you think of something which may arrive it could be true but not for the reason for which you though. At first, when I read this I didn't expect something very intense with a large story behing our MC (Shen Si), but I was really happy to notice that I was wrong. When you read hera the summary, you don't know who... more>> is the ML though you can guess by the summary or by reading the summary on jjwxc. I actually like how cold was our protagonist towards everyone including the ML even if I could notice he was not that indifferent towards him in my opinion. (The author insisted too much on the part where he was cold towards ML to think that he has no feelings towards him.) The side characters were great and well written too, I like the dynamic they add on the story.

Actually, I would love if the author could write the first "life time". Well, I guess it won't happen but it was so great that telling goodbye to the charcaters make me sad.

For those who are not sure whether they should read this or not you should if you want some timeline story/power, survival game with a romance subplot (it is not really present but it came by the end, the interaction between MC and ML were wholesome ^^). <<less

I couldn't understand why it only has a 4.3 rating even though this novel is really good. Subjectively speaking, this is super interesting especially the MC and ML, the obsession of ML, the avoidance of MC on certain 'things', the plot development, character interaction and many more interesting things. The only thing I didn't like is the sudden disappearance of the cousin and Mr. Bai from the frontlines of the scenes. They weren't given enough screen time, they were just abruptly cut-off from the main plot. They weren't given that... more>> much time for the plot development and I felt that it was just a loss, honestly there's just so much potential that was lost. Only if they were given more attention, the novel would probably be in another level. Even now I feel a little regretful.

Okay, enough of that talk. Anyways, Overall, it's a really nice novel. A good read and something worth investing your time in. I highly recommend to the future readers.

Ps. I didn't expect the plot twist and ending. What a thrill. <<less

Quite interesting plot, even with holes every now and then.

Not completely airtight cause and effect as several scenes were only mentioned but not integrated into action in the current time flow in the story.

However it was still a good read.
