I can't bring myself to like the s*xual harrasment by ML which is occuring very often as the chapter progressed. Sure, the MC didn't dislike it but she is quite troubled over it as they are not married yet and there should be a fixed distance between them as unmarried man and woman. Some people might find it cute that the ML teased the MC (sexually, mind you) but I don't find this very enjoyable to read. While romance (might be) essential to this kind of story, I feel like the author focused too much on the romance while abandoning any other aspects. At this point, it feels very cringeworthy as almost in every chapter, ML appeared and took advantage of the MC. I couldn't even feel any fluff I felt in the beginning
(= × =) ;;
She bit the (supposed to be) male lead's hand to make sure he would make his bodyguard follow her. And then she used a hairpin to stab the s*ave trader to show that she is not gonna take your sh*t 8DD
Wei Lou goes through harrowing experiences in her past life and dies at the age of 15. After being reborn as her 6-year old self, she tries to change her fate, but what can a little girl do? Covertly trying to seek the help of then 15-year old Zhao Jie by grabbing his attention in a most permanent way, this starts the chain of events that brings them together.
- I feel sad and wronged for Chang Mi. Kid likes her so much and he didn't even directly do any bad at her in both lifetimes. She just hates him bec of her mother.
- ML is disgusting, a creep, a groomer. Dude even admit it himself that FL is like the flower he watered, cultivated, cared for until she grows up to be that beautiful. He doesn't even find that trait wrong.
- ML justifies his h**ny actions as 'love', impatience and his confidence that they'll both end up together. He doesn't take FL's 'no' seriously. I find it humiliating for FL to be treated that way only to be coaxed with his 'pampering' and sweet nothings.
- Most of FL's 'revenge' sh*t is really unreasonable. The way I see it, some of the characters still have room for growth but she cuts them off right away not giving a chance to prove themselves.
I'm not really bothered by the age gap, just the 'grooming' thing. ML didn't show enough 'restraint' even though FL is just a kid. Six to ten years old at that! He even admits... more>>Well, if you want a novel where you can't seem to like the leads, this is the one for you! I have to say that there are a loooot of times I felt uncomfortable. Too many times, and I cannot shake them off, which is why it took me a long time to finish this one. First, yes, she was reincarnated, but there is no way you can convince me to be okay with a romance between 6 and 15-years old. Especially when they grew older as he would be 23 and she's barely 14! Forgive my modern mind, but I cannot get behind this. At all. Especially when the author is so upfront with MLs attraction to her 'young body', even at the end of the story, her body at 20-years old was still the same as a 14-year old. Excuse me, for leaving pe*ophile-ville.
There's also Liang Yurong and Wei Chang Yin, and Yurong was not reincarnated btw and they had 10-year gap in age! And Liuli and Yangzhen. You cannot convince me it was not deliberate. Secondly, there's also Chang Hong, he is not the first over-protective brother I've read, but his over-protectiveness borders to sister complex and it's so uncomfortable! Plus, he was just... there. I can't see the purpose of his character except to possibly disgust some of the readers, me, apparently. If the author wanted pointers about overbearing brothers done right refer to Rebirth of Malicious Empress (Shen Qiu - Shen Miao siblings, now that's overprotective brother-sister relationship done right). Third, I can handle a foot fetish just fine, but to read about men lusting for her barely grown chest? Or that when she had her first period, the male lead took that as signal to finally think she's ready to be pluck like a flower. RED FLAG! PEDO ALERT! I'm not going to count because there's too many, but the final nail in the coffin in the disgust department.
Gang r*pe. Of a 13-year old girl.
I am seriously questioning the morality of the author.
I'm probably nitpicking this as well, but did the author really have to make it seem as if it's woman is at fault if she looked haggard after giving birth? Also, ML always, ALWAYS, pop out wherever FL is. Is he THAT idle? Plus his penchant for stalking. Most importantly, I can't seem to like Wei Lou, at all. Even with her background or her hardship in the past. I just find her, unlikeable, b*tchy, even. As well as capricious. But she's a beauty so we, as readers, and other characters in the story should excuse her for her seemingly looking down on everyone. BTW, both MC are unreasonable and everywhere this couple go, they seem to cause death and suffering for the pettiest, most insignificant, and sometimes, even imaginary offences.
I especially disliked how she treated Song Hui. It was so sad and it was so unfair to him. She used him and boosted her vanity with his attention, and was indecisive of letting him go until she was pressured by ML.
She didn't want him from the beginning, but she also didn't want him to be with Wei Zheng. He was so hurt because she couldn't let her enemy have him, as if the man cannot make a decision for himself.
It was very cruel and very manipulative. And Song Hui was such a good person! And don't even get me started with ML, so despicable.
Fight fair and square, man! His underhanded method in eliminating Song Hui was so low. He totally lost the little bit of respect I have for him.
But really, the true victim of this novel is Song Hui and Dan Yang. They both loved selfish and cruel people.
The step-mother that tried (and more or less succeeded in the previous life) to sell her to s*avers is just confined at home and the people that raised her only to bury her alive weren't a target either, even though she could have used the laws against them as they were more or less selling narcotics to unsuspecting young noble ladies for years.
In addition to this, she tries to help the people in her family that she knew would end up having troubles.
