This story was a quick and light read. Enjoyed it a lot especially in beginning.

WHAT WAS GREAT:

2. Interactions between MC and ML were really great. Silly, cute, funny and I could feel ML falling and falling for MC. These feelings of blossoming love were so super sweet and fluffy. Made me binge the first half.

3. ML is smart and sees through MC quickly as soon as he realizes how clumsy MC is and what probably causes the misundeerstandings. Even without MC explaining. He likes to tease MC a lot. He is also quick jn realizing he is attracted to ML and chases him. (Btw Esports part in the story is almost none. ML is about to retire from Esports, so main focus is showbizz)

4. Side characters were great! ML's little brother and MC's band members were funny and loyal!!

DON'T LIKE

- Too much focus on netizens/Weibo. I love showbizz stories and netizens in general. It offers great way for dog blood/food, face slapping and makes a story more sensational. However, it was truly overly used here!! I didn't count but it felt as if half of all chapters were written as netizen's comments. I no longer felt it fluffy at all towards the end when those netizens shouted rainbows etc about how cute cp is. More like an intrusion and this sense of pity that CP's lives resembles Kardasians.

- Made sense considering both ML and MC are public figures so they care about Weibo/netizens etc (and probably very realistic too) but it got annoying. Their characters/personality felt a bit shallow to care and wanna show so much through social media. Often in story MC was still scrolling/checking weibo when he was with ML, whilst they both were so busy and hardly have chance to meet. Or they again where in middle of live stream with fans.

- The bad guy in the story was a totally abstract figure, 1- dimensional. He even barely had any real scenes in the story except that his name was constantly mentioned as the despicable person who stole MC's choreography etc. He was purely created for revenge and face slapping without being a real character. However due to this the face slapping was not as satisfying as I normally would feel. I couldn't hate him as I usually hate the villains in a story, as I didn't know him and he didn't feel real at all.

- See tag. Whole arranged marriage thing was so lame. MC is only 18y old. ML is 23 or so. Just because they are both gay, their parents arranged a fiance for them. Seriously?? Author, how about just trying to get to know and date eachother first?

Ok so the reviews nearly stopped me from reading this so I’ll say: this is not a case of prolonged misunderstandings! It’s just silly mistaken misunderstandings that are quickly resolved!! (Very very quickly. Sometimes within the same chapter because it was a slip of the hand or a case of mistaken identity)

Our MC is silly, he’s adorable. If you like a cute, silly story with no drama, you’ll love this. I died laughing from the small misunderstandings, it’s not one of those frustrating ones where characters just don’t get... more>> it. Mistakes happen, for comedic purposes. Would a real idol be able to make those mistakes? No, because they wouldn’t be allowed to be fully in charge of their public social media accounts. So yes, take this with a grain of salt. But it’s meant to be comedy, and it really made me laugh so I’ll conveniently allow that lol

All in all I really enjoyed it, read it all in one go without feeling like the story dragged on. It ended so abruptly (the extras) I wanted more! But yes the story concluded well and I have no complaints.

Is this a masterpiece? No. Is it a good read, well translated and relaxing? Yes!

So if you have any doubts after reading the reviews like I did, but know that you like uncomplicated silly stories, I’d still suggest you give it a try. If I hadn’t had nothing else to read, I might’ve passed up on this and then I would’ve really regretted it. <<less

Echoing all the other reviews, it's a funny and fluffy novel - nothing groundbreaking but definitely well written. The translator did a great job. Both MC, ML, and supporting characters are likable (I'm waiting for the sequel featuring ML's little brother lol). The ML is pervy and a bully but very supportive and doting. MC is naive but hardworking. The social media interactions were funny and the pacing is good.

FFXW is real!

If you want to drown in fluff and hurt your cheeks from smiling too much, read this. There's no unnecessarily draggy misunderstandings or drama between MC and ml. The side characters are super amusing too 🥰

the story is really fluffy and heartwarming, but it doesn't make it boring at all! The flow is really nice and ML's teasing is everything *chefs kiss*, oh, also, the translator did a great job! Overall a very enjoyable read :)

In short, a fluffy novel that combines both showbiz & esports qualities. If you like idols, gaming gods, scandals, face-slaps, humorous & embarrassment moments, a plot that doesn't try to fry your brain cells, this may meet your criteria.

I like this novel, but I wouldn't go as far as to call it really memorable. It's fluffy & cute, the dynamics fall into that of a naive beautiful shou & a dominant teasing gong. If you like that kind of ship dynamic, then by all means come on board! Much of my enjoyment came from MC's team members & ML's little bro. They're supportive, not to mention hilarious & goofy beyond belief. They brought many laughs to the table & I appreciate their constant support & love for the main characters. Angst is minimal; the "conflict" is not even worth mulling over. It's swept under the rug & that can be frustrating to people who want actual closure. Time constraints (or perhaps lack of substance) made the ending feel rushed. Nevertheless, it was a cute read & I think it's palatable for anyone who wants something light.

P.S. There's a sequel starring ML's little bro, Jiang Ying & I am SOOO DOWN! That little punk is guaranteed to provide many gut-wrenching laughs <<less

Basically the ML comes to solve all MC's problem, haha. But our MC also someone who lovely, hardworking, and kind, our cute baby deserves all the love in this world.

I can't believe this is the first time I'm writing a review on this website after using it for 6 months now but I have to say, this novel is just that damn good.

Gu wei and Jiang xuan are so wholesome!!! I really like how Jiang xuan was not concerned about the scandals surrounding gu wei. He understood him and stood by him. He's really an amazing partner. Fluff all the way. From gu wei's band mates and hedgehogs fans to jiang's xuan parents and team mates, their characters were so well written and I love them all. Jiang xuan gossip loving younger brother is really a riot. Never a dull moment with him. Props to the translator for translating this beautiful story. Read it if you haven't.

This is extremely cute??? all interactions are funny (lil bit second hand embarassment) but still very much enjoyable. I binge read it in 1½ day. MC is just a talented fluff ball 😩😩

Just fluff and comedy and smooth-sailing romance. But something about it feels so healing. Was it the comedic interactions between friends? There's a lot of similar fluff novels but this one hits different.

It's short but full of laughter and life.

I laughed heartily multiple times, dispelling a lot of stress I've been accumulating. It's good.

Okay, gona admit read this only because I was intrigued by the sequel and thought it would be good to read the prequel. And while it probably can be standalones, I do think reading this will make the sequel more enjoyable.

This was a cute read nonetheless. A very sweet, mostly smooth ride with many funny moments. A great supporting cast that added to the humour. One of the warmest stories I've ever read 🥺🥺

Really, this is a really sweet story..

This is a romance story set in showbiz and a little e-sports. And I'm always worried about conflicts in the showbiz genre, annoying netizens, struggles over sources of income and even competition. However, the nice thing is that all of the above is in this story, but instead of me feeling worried and anxious, the problem was resolved quickly and in a pleasant way..

He is truly one of the most innocent and lovable shou I have ever read. Our Captain Jiang is also very consistent with his pe*vertedness. In our weiwei best protector.

It is a lovely story with interesting characters. The novel is quite good; it is well-written; its plot is ordinary, but because of its well-rounded characters, MC's strange brain circuit, and humour, it is enjoyable and nice reading.

It's light reading, but still, at some moments, I felt really sad. I think the author didn't want to make the story tragic, so even though there were unpleasant moments, it wasn't too detailed. Yet I felt distressed for MC; he deserved better treatment from his family and people in general.

MC is a truly unique person. His logic is something special; he is a little bit clumsy and has bad luck, and all of that causes a lot of misunderstandings, some of which are understandable but at the same time really funny. It's those kinds of little misunderstandings that aren't dragged out and don't cause any trouble. Just silly mistakes that are quickly explained. Their only purpose is to humour readers and make ML fall in love and become helpless because of the cuteness of a certain someone. So there is no angst or drama. It is enjoyable to read.

ML is interesting too. He's bold and wild. He is a famous and successful person. Everyone thinks he is a cool person, but his persona crumbles in front of MC. He loves to flirt with MC and make him shy, and because of that, he obtained the nickname of a pe*vert (but actually, he hasn't done anything excessive).
I loved MC and ML's interactions. In all the novels I have read, MC and ML most of the time have a good understanding. Legendary tactic understanding is a must for a good couple. In the case of our couple, they are really sweet, but they lack the ability to understand each other. It is definitely MC's fault. MC and ML are too different, and their thinking processes don't match, which caused a lot of misunderstunings. Still, they are perfect. I loved that, despite their differences in almost all aspects, they became an adorable couple.

I also loved side characters who were weird but loving and supportive (except for the MC parents). I especially loved MC's brother, Sunny Doll, and MC's band members. They made the story more lively and cute.

The story itself began with a misunderstanding, which is a good thing. I don't think MC and ML could get together without that small incident. In this case, MC's father was at fault. It was the only good thing he has done for MC, and even this was caused by his forgetfulness and carelessness.

The story is extremely cute and definitely worth reading. It has everything it needs to be interesting but not angsty or tragic. MC is often treated badly, but because of ML and supportive people who care about him, you don't feel too sorry for him. The story itself is a little bit unrealistic because of how supported same-s*x relationships and marriage are. I also think if Idol decided to get married at that age, netizens would tear him or her apart and the whole carrier would be ruined, but it's nice to read and fantasise that at some point in the future, people might learn to mind their own business and let other people live in peace.

In short, it was a sweet, well-written, and satisfactory story. I would recommend it to people who enjoy reading sweet danmei.

I love this novel. Super cute and very light hearted. Good humour.

I've knocked it down a star as I feel that the relationship between the MC and his parents was kind of skipped over. It would have been better if it was fleshed out a bit more. As it is, it kind of felt like the author remembered them at the end of the novel and just shoved in a couple of paragraphs.

Short, sweet read with flirty, black belly ML and MC with ‘issues’ that get lightly explored. Comedy of misunderstandings which never got too annoying as you get to know both characters. Side characters make the story more entertaining but wish it was longer to explore the world in more depth. Reread.

Gu wei's mother was being foreshadowed too much or maybe even his whole past. Maybe thats good tho makes it less angsty.

I don't quite like the way they described the MC sometimes. It gave me a feeling that he was fragile and doesn't have his own opinion. I don't quite like how innocent he was made out to be.

But all in all these aspects weren't taken really far so it was still a very wholesome and funny story.
