Tang Bai was born into a wealthy family. His body was soft and slender, and he loved to act spoiled. His family searched far and wide to find him a handsome and rich prospective fiancé. Definitely a fav to re-read. I cried a few time reading this (even in mtl), I'm a sucker for this kind of love story. Tang Bai, our cute Omega MC was amazing, his green tea skills will crack you up. But he's such a brave person, someone who knew what he aspired to do was risky and would bring danger to himself. And someone that did it anyway.

A lot of what Tang Bai fought against is taken from the history of Womens' Rights. Fighting for a right to an education,... more>> fighting for the right to serve your country, fighting to be seen as more than an unpaid housemaid and reproducer. Women are still fighting this fight. <<less

So I barely ever give written reviews because I'm lazy, but this novel just made me want to show it to others and let them appreciate how great this is!! I love this novel with a burning passion for multiple reasons:

  • The ML actually shows emotions and is not just a big shield to always protect the protagonist
  • The MC is actually STRONG and doesn't always depend on the ML in every situation to the point where you question if the MC can even think without the ML saying something
  • The omega verse story in it actually talks abt the inequality between the statuses of gender in society and how the omegas are seen as tools and toys for babies and marriages without any of their consent. To point they are brainwashed into believing that should be the norm. And the talk about 'victim blame'- Where instead of culprit being punished, the victim is seen as tainted, scraps, etc. Its so refreshing to see a protagonist that actively tries to go against these norms.
All in all I love this so much rn, and I rlly hope this continues to update bcuz I need more!!

The novel is excellent in every aspect, both in characters and story
The MC has a normal omega character, but the writer managed to make him likable to the reader, I never expected to like the character of a spoiled and sticky mc
There were a lot of awkward and emotional moments
I enjoyed reading all of them

This novel has a perfect balance between real issues and romance. The characters are not 1D. They grow and evolve slowly. The author speaks about underlying political issues and the suffering of the people. Though it is an ABO novel it has so much more depth. The author presents and analyses problems of the society and political systems.

Firstly I agree with @problematicq's critique, as well as most of the positive reviews on this, the story hit close to home. Secondly, English is not my first language so this review will be rocky.

Since there's already many positive review, I'll write the negative one but it does not take away from the positive one.

Yes like @problematicq said, the story would be stronger if the ML was an Omega. This is explained well in @problematic's review so I won't go into it. And yeah, the attempt at humour just made... more>> it very depressing if you think about it. The humour just undermines the message of the story.

The ML's views are a product of the discriminatory views of the society. In the beginning, he had such a sexist view of the MC. He did not think the MC genuinely wanted to teach and befriend him. Had the MC been a different gender he would not think this.

My problem is that, instead of this issue being taken seriously and explored deeper, its played for laughs. Although the misunderstanding is cleared later, it is not enough. My second problem is that the ML is compared to the rival, and the story acts like he is really good for MC.

Yes, in comparison to the rival, the ML is good. But does that make him good? Not really. To simplify, the rival thinks MC does not have the capacity for learning math because he is an omega, and actively made MC's life harder because of these views. While the ML thinks MC has a hidden motive for interacting with classmates because he is an Omega but he still treats MC with love and kindness because MC treated him in kind. The ML goes above and beyond to express his love but these actions does not come from a place of understanding. Instead, it originated from his misunderstanding which makes his early interaction with MC so uncomfortable and sad. Since MC is so sincere and genuine in every action. Plus, the comedy just actively undermines the message since the ML is supposed to be the model love interest yet his views for more than half the book is so skewed. It's okay to have sexist views as long as you go above and beyond and don't hurt your partner? For the story, the ML creates a condition where it is okay to have sexist views whereas the story push for the messaging of " its never okay to be sexist". The ML is never punished for his views, every misunderstanding with MC is taken as a sweet and rewarding experience and MC never truly found out ML used to think of him as a green tea bit*h till the end.

Still rate it a 5 because it is truly good writing for this genre and I want more people to read and improve this idea. Though it has its uncomfortable drawbacks. The side story with divorce though is handled really nicely. Have not seen enough people said it <<less

It's awesome, great!! Beautiful but with gray areas! Powerful but filled with empathy! Comical but with a bitterness of reality!

This was a great book, but it did drag in parts, and I wished the side characters had more resolution. I felt like many of the side characters didn't end up having happy endings, and instead were there to varnish the main character's halo (the perfect set up for a transmigration turn around).

I thought the morals in the story were very nice - it made the abo setting tolerable. However, the author really likes to hit you over the head with the idea of gender and class tolerance. And I... more>> think the "one person changes the world" is not very realistic. If you take a look at things like the feminist movement, you'll see that there's often a figure head, but numerous people paving the way. In a book, having one person make such a big impact adds to the novel, but in real life, there is no way the change could have happened in a vacuum. I guess Bai Zhi represents all the people who pave the way.

This moralizing made the middle of the book a bit tedious, especially as the premise of the book gets wrapped up. But I persevered until the end, and I do think it picks up a bit by then. <<less

Have certain shortcomings like its confusing how the interstellar setting works in this story and a little confusing ABO setting because of gender roles and them treating omegas like girls... Also the terrible latest translation which is just MTL that didn't even get proftread because of those wrong pronouns... But it has a lot of good points too that'll give you goosebumps.

MC is an angel... He may be oblivious and naive at the start, well that's how society raise him to be, but he's strong willed and will do whatever... more>> he can to achieve his goal. I also love the love between him and ML that transcends parallel worlds.

Side characters even have their own end like how they change into a better person and gain their long yearned happiness... <<less

This just great. You won’t regret reading it. This novel touches a topic that applies in the real world. I also love how MC deals with his problems. Although the misunderstandings is..... and he’s kinda dense.... not going to lie it’s kinda funny. MC as a writer in the novel reminds me of meat bun doesn’t eat meat lmao but without the wife chasing crematorium and romance.

Pros :

A beautiful twist to the usual abo story. It's like feminisms done right in a book. It's a healing read for women.

MC is a god sent. You bet he will punch you w his meow meow pink kitty fist. We stan a strong omega that actually acts like an omega. MC's a badass while still retaining his omega side.

... more>> ML pinning MC is too cute. I'm a proud mom. It's nice to read how ML go soft but hard down below around MC. A gentle ML is to die for.

The past they share together is a plot twist I didn't expect and author should probably make another story about oo love. The story is mostly light hearted. Kinda slice of life.

Cons :

The MC is way too perfect to be true. The only time that he seems human is when he tried to cheer himself up cus others belittle him. But even so, MC is already on a whole new level compared to other omega MC.

The misunderstanding is funny to read but the revelation is kinda boring?? It took like 80+ chaps. Also there's no end to the discord between the federation and imperial?? <<less

As other reviewers have said, it's clear from the beginning that the ML is an alpha, and only the MC thinks otherwise. This misunderstanding helps drive the entire plot. I don't usually like these misunderstanding-driven plots, but this one was mostly created by the characters themselves, creating fake accounts and being deliberately vague, instead of a series of miraculously timed "coincidences" and other characters' words driving the misunderstanding. So to me it ended up being cute instead of frustrating and annoying. The same with the love triangle, I normally find... more>> those a bit annoying, but so far it isn't that big a part of the plot. But if you really don't like ongoing misunderstandings, you probably won't like this novel.
As others have also said, the MC is very OP, but I don't think it's any more than a normal protagonist's golden halo. I like the OPness because this novel has a lot of social commentary on not only abo gender roles, but also class, and the MC's OPness helps drive that criticism. Also the MC is constantly trying to help others get better, a lot of this OPness is due to hard work.
So far the interactions between the MC and ML are extremely cute, the ML is one of the most respectful MLs I have read, and the world building and social criticism is evolving in an interesting way. For me so far it's 5 stars. <<less

This story is absolutely touched me to the deepest part of my heart because of how close it hit to home. It realistically showcase the discrimination and difficulties of gender. I literally cried when I was reading chapter 22 and reread the lines many times. Kudos to the author for writing this amazing book.

This novel is absolutely recommended! It's just so sensible and amazing!

The only thing you need to excuse is the protagonist halo, otherwise it's a realistic novel. Here, the protagonists aren't fighting against enemy conspiracies or zergs, they're fighting a classicist and racist society. You see the Omega MC being a spokesperson for equality, omega rights and classicism. ML comes from the slums and he's trying to occupy more privilege through merit and share it with his slum folks. MC also encourages slum rehabilitation, sensitising the high brow folks to the... more>> slum issues, establishing a bridge and working with law in order to enforce better, beneficial laws for them and omegas. There's also beta racism here which is hardly dealt with but isn't exactly neglected.

And best of all!!! Omegas aren't each other's enemies, there's no catfight over who's prettier like you see in other Omega verse with Omega MC. ML isn't toxic and super possessive over MC. There's character development for the original ML!! Orig ML's omega father asks for a divorce from his privileged exam for cold violence which is something I liked best from the novel!

There are talks over unsanitary gland removal, illegal drugs, etc. It's quite a comprehensive novel. Romance isn't lost, there is comedy and there are emotional moments.

I wish there were more novels like this in BL genre. <<less

Alright. Now that I am quite calm. I just want to tell that this is my very first time writing a review for a novel no matter how many I had read whether it is BB, BG or GG. From 'wow', 'good' and to 'meh' type of novels. (the last time was like when I read MDZS and TGSF -which are both BxB- also 'She is the Protagonist' which is GxG and if you haven't read them yet TRY IT OMG no scum partners and have really good plot which make you laugh, cry and sympathize with them!)

At first it may seem like your typical cute shou and gentle and powerful gong and normal plot of ABO universe but you will be surprised and you just can't help but fall in love with both the plot (ooouuu the feels of everything that makes you want to tear your hair and vomit blood in anger, laugh until you are laughing crazily into hysteria, and shed tears until you feel that you are the one being wronged and could only cry in grievance) and characters (that are not 2D thank god) ! I love it to the point that I have set a camp here to faithfully wait for another chapter to be released!

I wish I could be patient and wait to stack up the chapters but it was just so good that I couldn't help myself 😭😭😭♥ <<less

especially gu family im glad mr. Li left the familyand other family members realised their wrongdoings

but he aint bad guy, even if hes arrogant and arrogant he tries to change himself unlike other cannon fodder

One of the genuinely best novels I've had the pleasure of reading. I went in not expecting much out of the ABO genre, but the reviews piqued my curiosity and I was blown away. The interaction between MC and ML is so sweet, especially the little thoughts and green tea notes ML takes. There are many times I felt second hand embarrassments for both ML and MC. MC is really a little sunshine and ML is so good. It's one of my most favorite bl.

Gu Mian's type of people are so hateful and cowardly, I cried a lot because of how heartless, pathetic and cowardly he is. Even worse then a piece of wood. This novel touched my heart and soul. It made me tear up for the oppressed and discarded.

I wish people regardless of gender will read this book as a way to broaden their own horizons.

I really want to thank the author and translator, this novel is truly devastatingly beautiful.
