Yun Rong, the mountain demon, had slept for 3,000 years. She could only be awakened by the offering and prayers from the common people. However, one day she was rudely awakened by a weird machine called excavator.

Yun Rong was really angry. Which wicked person dares to move my mountain! She decided to show herself to the person in charge to resolve the situation.

Yun Rong: “Who permitted you to move my mountain?”

Development Manager: “Our company’s General Manager.”

Yun Rong: “Outrageous! Take me to see him!”

The Development Manager disdainfully said: “Do you think just because you want to see our General Manager you could meet him?”

Yun Rong modestly asked: “Then how could I meet him?”

Development Manager: “Minimum you have to be worth 100 million!”

From then on, Yun Rong went down the mountain to raise her worth to at least 100 million only to discover that the world had changed a lot after 3,000 years. Apart from blessing the common people with good weather for crops and abundant harvest, she couldn’t do anything else. She realized then it would be quite difficult to raise her worth to 100 million.

Lu He Nian said pamperingly: “Not difficult at all. What’s mine is yours.”

Yun Rong said innocently: “Wishing your family luck and prosperity!”

This is the type of story that you need to turn off your braincells to enjoy...

I recommend reading [Believe It Or Not, I Already Caught You] instead since the premise is practically the same but the characters on Believe It are way more well-defined and so do the storyline

I love the story. It is really funny. To meet 4.500 years old mountains demon/god. With so pure mind and sometime almost fooled by bad human. But very dedicated to protect all creature in her mountain.

By the story we will see how demon and ghost adapted in fast moving future of humanity. Most of them lose their nature and live among human just like human themselves.

1. I love how Yun Rong always straight to her goal to gather 100 million to buy her rightful mountain. But she is lack sense of business. And most of the time she made bad business and get money so much less than she can afford.

2. I love Lu Heinian, because until the last chapter he do the best to support all Yun Rong' act, although he just mere human being. In one point he also suprise about Yun Rong as not a human being. But he decide, whatever creature Yun Rong is, she always become his little 'girl'.

3. I love all Lu family. Although one and two person itchy my brain, but they have positive vibe to adapt with all negativity surround them. Just pity their story not lasting until the last chapter.

4. I do love the Taoism gang. Not only human but also demon. Their bickering with Yun Rong and speechlesness with Lu Heinian' money power, made this story always fresh in may taste.

At the end of story I will ask how human so powerful to made Heaven and Nether creature envy to them? And how strong human pray can save Yun Rong dan Lu Henian fate?

Fight me if you want but I find this novel lowkey pretty chauvinistic.

I think I should not have read the review that compared this to either "don't discriminate against species" and "ascending" bc the former is a bl one so naturally or culturally people don't think the MC is incapable as a MALE because they're naive and the latter has both a better MC and the ML is never chauvinistic against women. There is more equality in thinking.

I'm sure this probably doesn't bother anyone else but the degrees in which... more>> the ML talks down to her (very slight but I'm very sensitive to this) in ways for her SECURITY is just cmon man. Like yes, before you know anything about her, you know she singlehandedly took down an armed man and you think she cant do anything safely bc she's a pure naive "young lady"? The ways he says young lady is patronizing man. I'm triggered.

It's honestly not that bad compared to real sh*t novels but the fact that this had so much potential makes it feel worse.

This story is damn adorable and I'm hoping it gets more love. It's about a mountain god who has slept long enough to miss a few thousand years of humanity's technological progress and is conned into trying to live as a human in a human city. On the other hand, the supernatural beings that once ruled have forgotten much of their magic and live quietly among men, either blending in or feeding off humans.

This is a setting that could go a lot of ways, and this particular story chooses to... more>> take it very light-heartedly and comedically. Yun Rong, the MC, is powerful, yet incredibly naive to anything human-related and doesn't have much of a concept of money, but when it comes to the supernatural she's quite on top of things. Meanwhile, the ML is the complete opposite.

So far the story has been running along the lines of everyone misunderstanding each other but things turning out well regardless... you know the trope. It's a funner binge than it is a chapter by chapter wait.

Downsides: I don't much like the ML. He's alright, but rather underhanded in general. Also, can you really even call that conclusion a conclusion?! Author must have been seriously tired of the story or something. <<less

My rating for this novel kept changing as the story goes. The beginning with the interesting plot was good however overtime, it became repetitive and a bit boring. However, the end was good enough to cover the holes for me.

I also did not like that the story in one part treat ab*se like a joke (the part where the cousin was "persuaded" to do the ML's mother's biding). Then, there's the guy who killed himself yet continues to stay to find a wife (like seriously what's up with writers thinking a person who killed themselves to escape reality would wish to continue their life on earth and suffer?). The ending is also a bit confusing -how can a comatose preggy give birth without any help from others.

Tho, the good part in this novel is that ML here is more humane than an iceberg (actually shows love and care to other people beyond FL). Would have initially rated it as 2, with the plotholes and/or brain dead plots but the final chapters boost that rating to 4 for me. 😂

This novel truly had the potential to be as interesting like the fortune telling novel. But was let down by too much ML interaction

as a romance fiction I guess its ok

as a fantasy fiction it's disappointing. I wanted to see her self development journey more without being coddled or followed everywhere by the freaking ML

dropped midway. If u like romance go but if you are here for chinese fantasy eh

I had so much fun with this novel. Our MC Yunrong is a mountain god who has awoken from thousands of years of slumber when a crew starts construction on it. In order to take back her mountain the modern way, Yunrong goes on a journey to earn 100 million dollars.

Yunrong amazes both the people in the novel and the readers. There's interesting problems she has to face, a love interest who has been doomed not to live past 30 and a mystery behind why she fell asleep all... more>> those years ago.

I definitely recommend giving it a shot. Its only 60 chapters (which is why some reviews feel something missing at the end). I wish we could've gotten some sweet extras at least but I was pretty satisfied.

Also to the critique that its similar to 'Believe It or Not I Already Caught You'. I really don't think the plot points hit that closely unless you're looking for it. That book dealt mostly with ghosts, this demons. I had fun with both books so I don't believe its fair to make that comparison. <<less

  1. really cute story. FL is a huge powerhouse (though most creatures cannot sense her cultivation level bc it's too high) in the supernatural world, while ML is a powerhouse in the China part of the human world (not sure if he is powerful elsewhere yet) but kinda kinda draggy tho. There were tons of situations (mind u we're at ch26, almost halfway through) where she could've just said she was a mountain demon and BAM nobody would've moved her mountain bc of all powerful ML lol <<less

I am confused as to why ML is depicted as affectionate when his behavior is actually chauvinistic. He only just met her and immediately starts manipulating and exerting authority over her.

Despite FL's intelligence, she becomes braindead when she sees ML and her family, and author attempt to make her seems cute by this.

While others view her as strong and commanding when she speaks firmly, ML views her as foolish when she asks him to keep his promises to her. For god's sake she is a mountain sprit who have resided... more>> for thousands of years. She doesn't have modern knowledge but that does't mean she is an idiot. She have seen her share number of people and blessed them and got faith power from them. She just went to sleep and wakes up at modern world. It was really good when started, but when she meets ML, she becomes like any other idiotic typical FL, who just nods her head to whatever ML says and does to her.

He doesn't consider her wishes, disregards her, but instead buys and forces things upon her like any other CEO. It's really simply frustrating.

This is not at all a portrayal of being doting or pampered.

He simply shouts her name and disrupts her life whenever she is focused on serious business.

She is far capable than anyone but instead of respecting her capabilities, he constantly mentions that she will be fooled by others and it's not safe for her outside and makes her being confined to him and obstructs her freedom.

Ml's secretary becomes stunned or hangs his mouth open in astonishment for every three sentences for every move of ML how simple or insignificant it may be.

And every ML in all novel's thinks that they are the miserable person in whole world and always maintain stern face and exerts cold aura. Meanwhile FL will always remain cute and foolish even after going through difficult period. And ML will feel warmth just seeing FL's face for first time. He has loads of wealth, thousands of workers for him and affectionate family with parents, sisters and niece, still he will feel world warmth only after seeing FL. Damnnnnnnnn.

It's disappointing how authors portray some certain characters. But compared to many novels, this is far good. <<less

i had fun at first but slowly got annoyed by how people keep calling her a little girl.

she could be performing godly things and they still underestimate her. And call her "little girl".

the daoist, know she's a demon and yet still get surprised?

... more>> also what is with cnovels and emphasizing their fls' youthfulness? Like infantalizing them. Calling them little girl. Telling the audience that the FL and ml's relationship appears to be like father and daughter. The huge age gap. The g*ooming.

it irks me everytime this novel keep reminding us how young she looks. The way they describe the FL is like they're describing an 8 year old but also a sexy woman? It makes me uncomfy. I would have truly stopped reading if not for the supernatural aspect of this novel.

ML is also kind of a d*ck boss. He just deducts salaries on a whim. He's kind of just your typical ceo ml. Kinda basic. Kinda boring.

the romance is just meh. I wish they just focused more on demon slaying. <<less

Very fluffy, cute slice of life urban fantasy story about a mountain goddess who is rudely woken up from her long sleep to discover that President Lu (the ML) now owns her mountain. She decides to enter human society and make money to buy back her mountain.

The premise of the story is very similar to Don't Discriminate Against Species (which is a more detailed BL novel) : A powerful immortal wakes up from millennia of sleep, enters modern society as a young person, saves people, makes money, and falls in... more>> love again with the ML whom they had a forgotten relationship with in the past. The MC is very similar to the MC in Ascending, Do Not Disturb (cute, practical and valiant). If you either of those novels, try this one out.

I enjoyed the MC's adventures and adaptation to modern society. While the MC and ML are together for most of the story, they don't get together until the end. The story was a fun, easy read, and should have been double the length to do the world building, romance, and family plot lines more justice. Or at least another 10 epilogue chapters. Still, it was very enjoyable. <<less

This novel was really good all the way up to the abrupt ending. I had to take a star off for that. The novel was way to short and that ending did not do it justice. Besides that, I found this story to be very adorable.

The main character, Yun Rong, is a very straightforward woman aka mountain god. She slept for thousands of years and missed a lot of human advancement. She woke up because her sleep was disturbed when the mountain was being redeveloped. So now she must work... more>> to make money to buy the mountain. She has no idea of money and sometimes gets scammed, but she always comes out on top.

The main lead, Lu He Nian, is a good character too. He does his best to support her without being overbearing. He just quietly stands by her side, offers her advice and pursues her in a non-creepy way.

The Lu family besides, 2 people, are the best. They are so adorable in the ways to hook up Yun Rong and Lu He Nian. All positive vibes from them and that’s rare.

I love the supernatural special forces or Xuanmen are adorable. It was good to see how ghost and demons evolved to keep up with humanity.

A good, quite short story about a mountain demon who slept for 3000 years. Starts as simple "learning about modern world and helping people" to end up as well written romance of ancient beings. Sweet, fluffy, sometimes funny.

A very good job of translating and editing.

so we have a 4000 years old demon. But when she slept she was merely a teenage (in terms of mind), so she has cute moments. On the other hand she is a senior demon with lots of power and sense of responsibility, so she can be ruthless and cold. And it all makes sense

+ ML is a good, nice one

+ ML's family (parents and siblings) are sooo cute and funny

- it asks for extra chapters to wrap stories of all characters (but the ending is still ok)

- the final battle could be more dramatic

- some points are just brushed over

This starts off really strong and I really love the FL but it's a downhill slope from the moment she meets the ml. Obviously as the reader I know that the FL is like 4000 years old, but every other character around her is working under the assumption that she's barely legal. The ML is like 30 and every time the author emphasises how young the FL looks I cringe. She's a bit naive because the world has changed since she last saw it but she not s*upid or anything... more>> and yet the ML insists on treating her like a fragile little girl who needs him to protect her (mind you, they barely even know each other yet). It's really frustrating seeing her trying to go abouther business and the ML meddling at every turn. I simply couldn't finish it which is really irritating because the premise is good and it was actually heading in a fun direction. <<less

This is one of the example of a good story that ruined by a rushed ending. I expected it of course because some reviewers already mentioned it but to read it by myself really gave a bitter feeling.

It's not because the story had a sad ending. It's a happy ending but it felt so incomplete and so many things left unexplained, such as:

  • How could MC give birth in her dormant state? Assuming that MC somehow could miraculously do it, how could she teach the kids until they're 4-5 yo old? OK, maybe she's already awake but not regained her human form yet, but if she's awake, why didn't she talk to ML earlier and choose to wait until 5 years later?
  • Why the heavenly law was so hateful?
  • How about ML's job as a CEO? Did he throw it away to accompany MC on the mountain?
  • How about ML's family? How were their reactions after knowing that both ML and MC were thousands years old demons?

Also the author, why did you keep calling MC "young lady this" and "young lady that"? It felt like you insinuating that MC was much younger than ML while in fact she's already 4000 yo. Why didn't you just call her by her name instead of calling her "young lady" over and over again?

I'm gonna miss this novel. Our FL may be new to the current world she woke up to but that does not keep her from movong forward. She is earnest to get what she wants (to buy her mountian🤣) and to help people. Our ML os also very caring and although the confession was pushed through a lil bit longer it's cause ML does not want to make FL sad. Am very happy with characters that omce they know their feelings they faced it straight up like Fl.

They have... more>> been through a lot and goods that finally they have a happy ending. I accepted /understand that ML protected the mountain near the end of the novel considering it's very important to him and FL from their very 1st encounter. There's some time skip but its kinda okay, m <<less

Wow. I think this novel deserves to be longer. It's very satisfying but the ending feels rushed. It needs atleast some side stories. Actually, it needs more chapters.

The characters are adorable. The romance is a little slow but there's a lot of fluff and heartwarming stories.

The writing is great if you don't mind the quick ending.

Definitely recommend this novel.

First off, thank you to the translators for a job well done.

That being said, I liked this story, but the ending was so abrupt and there wasn't much sweetness between FL and ML.

It's a funny and cute reading. It was a little bit slow for me, but I liked it overall. It is a Mountain Goddess so expect a lot of Mary Sue moments. The ending is a little bit open, I mean, you would know what would happen but it does not provide details.

It's a 10/10 for me. It's kinda lighthearted (if we're going to ignore their past). It's funny, especially the naive little mountain demon aka our FL. She's just so cute, kind and funny. The only thing I'm dissatisfied is the lack of extra chapters or side stories. I want moreeee. I really don't have much comment about the characters because although the supporting characters are almost background characters, I think it's fine since they don't have much impact in the plot. It's just really a pity that there's no extra... more>> chapters, especially about the loose ends. Like
