“Chi Yizhen found himself portrayed as a pitiful, tragic, and forgotten white moonlight character in an entertainment industry sweet and refreshing novel. Not only did he suffer the original work’s protagonist’s advances, which led to his family’s ruin, but he was also treated as a plastic surgery template by the protagonist. In the end, he almost faced a ruined reputation and was on the brink of leaving the entertainment industry…

As Chi Yizhen read the novel, he thought to himself: ‘If it were me, I’d go crazy.’

But when he woke up one day, he found himself in a hotel room next to a stranger…

Chi Yizhen thought: ‘This is definitely a trap, run!!!’

Coincidentally, the protagonist had just quit a reality show about love and cohabitation, and the production team, in a desperate attempt to salvage the show, invited Chi Yishen, who happened to bear an uncanny resemblance to the protagonist, as a guest. Chi Yizhen, who was already burdened by debts due to his transmigration into the novel, gladly agreed to participate in this fresh start.”

Who would have thought that Chi Yishen, whose entertainment career was once ruined, would become a sensation overnight because of a reality show and end up living together with his reality show husband he had just met?!

Netizen A: “Living together for fifteen days and nights would make anyone’s heart race, right?!”
Netizen B: “But that’s the mysterious gaming legend, E God, who never makes public appearances!”
Netizen C: “Rumor has it that He Tiao is the true heir of the Shengshi Group… Doesn’t that mean Chi Yishen hit the jackpot in revenge?”

As for Chi Yizhen’s impression of this rumored, mysterious, and wealthy E God—
“How could it be the man I slept with at the hotel that day?!”
He never expected that this person would also be the central figure in the hidden subplot of the entertainment industry—
The true young master of the aristocratic family, is it fake or real!

/
Some people believed that He Tiao’s affection for Chi Yishen was merely a way to vent his frustration. After all, he had spent twenty-eight years of his life in an exchange with Sheng Xin, and he couldn’t have what he wanted.

Others thought that their love blossomed at first sight on the reality show. But no one knew that it was those tearful eyes he fell for on that fateful late night.

“I understand your secrets that no one else knows; love has always been the rarest soul for you.”

I wanted to like this, it has an interesting mix of tropes and topics and the characters aren't too one-dimensional.

It's ruined by the execution.

Entertainment industry novels need a balance between fan-comments and story, although comments are completely unnecessary for a good entertainment novel, if they are used, it has to been done right.

The writer seems to have forgotten that this is a book, not a transcript of a show.
If you delete all the viewer comments, the novel would have maybe 40 chapters.
It's like watching a show and reading live-comments, but the screen is so flooded with them that you can barely see what's going on with the actors.
The worst, these comments add absolutely nothing to the story, they are meaningless opinions about what's currently happening with the characters, nothing else, and they pop up every few sentences.

You get two paragraphs of story and then 8 sentences of comments, rinse and repeat.
There's no way to focus on or properly follow the plot, I tried skipping all the useless comments, but they are so overwhelming that it's hard to skim over without missing parts of the real plot.

The result is that the story is very shallow despite actually being quite complicated if done right, but the writer rather focused on the comments instead of flashing out the plot.

A novel is a novel, a show a show, you can't turn one into the other and expect them to work.

Readers want a book, not the transcript of some C-tire variety show.

I only have 30 or so chapters left and scrolled through them, it stays drowned in comments until the end, there is no way for the plot to wrap up properly.

I suspect the writer is very young, it was hard at time to understand what she wrote and now that I read some reader opinions, it seems she not only made a lot of typos but didn't even bother to check if the sentence structure makes sense.

To summarise it, she didn't give a damn about this "novel", neither about her readers wasting their time on tr*sh she didn't even try to write at least coherently.

Not recommended.

A little bit boring.

Also there's a lot of loopholes or maybe because I'm reading the raws.

There's not enough face slapping ending for the green tea b**ch

Spoiler

the green tea b**ch just became a beggardl in the end. Sheng xin suddenly died in a car accident but I though he was imprisoned for his crimes.

You youxing thought Chi Yizhen have a system but he doesn't have (cause YYX have a system to obtain SX) but He You knows the CYZ is from another world, CYZ also confess about it in the end. They got married.

He You was the original young master. This is the twist I didn't expext. Usually it's the MC and green tea was the one that was switch at birth, bu this time the ML and the antagonist was the one who was switch. Which was a good face slapping for Sheng xin.

It's just a little boring a lot of barrage and comments style in the story like, is there a 24 hrs camera tagging along with the MC and ML even though the variety show was finished already.

It drags out a little and I just couldn't finish one I found out I wasn't even half way through at ch 55.

Spoiler

I read this mtl so it might translated incorrectly but there was a brief moment that OG MC character was in love with his adopted brother.

[collapse]

That and other wild reveals never got explained. Here's a crazy sentence... moving on.

I just want the MC and ML to get together or at least have more development, but it kept switching to other characters or included so many live stream comments.

Once it's completely translated, I'll try again but it's okay. <<less

It's a great story so far. It really feels like the aftermath of something tragic. The MC enters just as the "novel" ends. He really doesn't have anything to do with what happened, but he is burdened with dealing with consequences of those events. Mainly, his entire family is gone, his doesn't have money, he is being blackballed from work and there are still people out there after him. So everything is against him. However, the only way now is up for our MC!

The MC's attitude is pretty simple, as... more>> in not complicated. He's straight shooter, easy going. He gives me the impression that he rolls with the punches. Nothing, so far, has phased him. Even finding himself in a compromising position first thing he crosses over to his new world, he doesn't dwell on it. He just ups and out, which is nice.

The ML is a little less impressive, but I think that's because there aren't much chapters out yet. I haven't decided if I like him or not. At least, I'm not impatient with him. I'll just wait and see.

Similarly, the "villains" of the novel have still a little vague. Again, because they haven't made much of an appearance. All we really know is that one of them was obsessed in destroying MC because of rejection and the other was obsessed with getting this man and going to great lengths to become the MC. Also, the guy had a system that left once the "novel" ended.

Anywho, it's a great little story so far. Nicely translated though sometimes the names of the characters, mainly the MC's, get changed or misspelled. But it doesn't make it hard to read or understand. I'll update once I have read more. <<less
