The ML and FL have the best relationship dynamic. They are both so funny but have depth in their characters. I love this pair❤️. Hope the translator continue translating soon

This novel is SO MUCH FUN!

Gotta love the FL's shameless and the ML's simple but violent temper 😆

The pigeon sidekick is pure slapstick comedy and I can't wait for the next update!

A lot of review said that this is similar to "the guide of capturing the black lotus". But, in my opinion this is more like "offering salt fish to master".

The only resemble with the black lotus was only the opening, except for that the whole story more like salt fish. But even if I said it's similar, it's not like it's copycat or anything. But more like the whole reason I like "offering salt fish to master", I could also found it here.

The ML has high EQ, know where to... more>> push but also where to retreat (or the bad synonym of it = manipulative lol). He silently protect the MC. And the MC also had high EQ and knew how to use her advanced to get what she want.

It's been awhile since I read the novel, but I remember had a very good feeling about it. After all if you like salt fish you would most likely like this novel too <<less

I truly enjoyed this novel and leads' adventure. This reminds me alot of "The Guide to Capturing a Black Lotus".

Shen Wanqing (FL) was so funny, I liked her personality and logic especially on her analogy about "self-righteousness" of other characters. I also liked her funny banter with Xie Wuyuan (ML) who was low-key tsundere but got ways to dote FL.

MC's relationship to OG leads who were actually good characters was commendable. Some supporting roles got depth and the discussion about "selfishness vs righteousness". However, the most hateful existence here... more>> was SYSTEM (they made my blood boiled).

For me the cons here...

メ Further depth and explanation on world sytem and FL. Isn't she need to hop on 5yrs to other world if she completed task? So what should happened next.

メ The arc of Princess/Marquis was open-ending and what happened to them after.

メ Some questions left unanswered.

Each character had miserable fate and each arch also quite dark but this novel had perfect comedic timing to alleviate the story. The lead character was my favorites. Shen Wanqing afraid of death but it had not deterred her for enjoying her second chance in life. She knew the real identity of Xie Wuyuan and helpless because she was far weaker than him so she had devil may care attitude and unexpectedly it was the thing that make he fall for her.

Xie Wuyuan also was the perfect tsundere. He was... more>> cruel and softened only to her. He was also her man-in-shining-armor. He jealous easily but he never hurt her.

I read the Black Lotus previously but I like this story better because the characterization of the lead are to my taste and the story also more captivating. <<less

I REALLY LOVE THIS NOVEL!!

At first, I was a bit sceptic if I should read it but when I did oh boy did I like it much more than I thought I would.

I love how there's detailed background for most characters, even if they're not very likeable characters, their parts always ends with a little background that shares their story. Through those stories, readers will realize just how tragic this world is, not just to our FL and ML but even to normal people. But I do feel especially bad... more>> for our main couple because in shorter terms, they were both born just to be sacrificed and used by other people in the name of "the greater good". They were labeled as villainous for being selfish and wanting to live for their own without people knowing that they've been running away from being treated as live stocks. I won't explain any further because that's the main gist of their story.

I also love our main couple's chemistry omg they're so cute! If you're curious, just read it hehe

Another thing that surprised me is that the ogML and ogFL are actually likeable characters and are people worthy of being titled as the story's protagonists. I love how by being connected to our FL, they gradually started to change too and by the end of it, it's as if they've been woken from their rose tinted glasses and could now finally see that not everyone is doing good just by saying that it's for the "good", they've gone through a lot of character developments because of FL and I really like that.

So overall, I REALLY RECOMMEND THIS NOVEL. It also wasn't too long, I finished it in two days max. I ASSURE YOU FL WILL MAKE YOU STAY SHE'S SO HILARIOUS XD. <<less

What a GEM! Highly highly recommended if you’re looking for a great controversial short story type fix! It’s a hilarious mix of shamelessness and interesting characters!

The storyline is quite interesting with various character’s tragic backstories and moral grey lines.

The FL... FINALLY another “black bellied” FL. The FL is sweet/ innocent yet cruel and decisive at the same time. The perfect representation of a selfish human that’s living her life at her own rules and for her own self. Moral kidnapping don’t work on her. Then again, she’s backed by the... more>> powerful ML. So, she has the privilege of doing so and carry out her way of thought. The author has created this AMAZING character and she is hilariously shameless (and she knows it).

How did the FL turn from a weakling to an OP Queen after the big incident. It wasn’t really well explained, just vaguely glossed over about how she got a power boost.

I've re-read this novel like, three times even before it was completely translated. So glad it was picked up by Wanderer Translations. I've finished reading it long ago through MTL. But the translated version is still much better compared to MTL. So after reading this again, I was full of laughter at the first few chapters. The female lead, Shen Wanqing, is a very unique protagonist with also unique personality. She's both clever and funny. Both her and male lead, Xei Wuyan's interactions are hilarious I look like a madman... more>> trying to hold back laughter from time to time. It was when later chapters came that I was full of tears. Then laugh again right after. I really love the author. The chemistry between the protagonists is *chef's kiss*. And you know what? This is also one of the rare Chinese novels out there where the original protagonists aren't actually annoying or brain dead. They were genuine good people that truly wanted good for everyone. The plot and both characters, although I can't make a detailed description on how to describe it, I just wanted to say that it's so beautiful. It was a quick read but I went through a roller coaster of emotions. I really love the female lead though. She's so witty and I just can't-- hahaha. Go and give it a try. A good quick read? for a xuanhuan story. At the start the ML&FL (of the novel) that our MC Shenwanqing, really have the protagonist halo of absurd arguments that may lead to misunderstanding, but fret not!! Our MC is there to save their love from so many twist and turns hahha. Also our ML🥹 he suffered a lot despite this he slowly fell inlove with MC and have a soft spott for her.

MC might do some ridiculous moves (for missions haha) but all of these was somehow always caugt by... more>> ML😂 so dont be scared of large misunderstanding. Our ML just usually looks after and teases MC. But if MC need help he will be there. Happy endingg~ also for the protagonist of the novel! A good character developmemt for them! <<less

I really liked this, it's funny, cute and fresh but also made me cry a little. I had to read the last half MTL so some things were confusing but I enjoyed it nevertheless. The FL and ML are both likeable and cute together, I just wish it were a little longer since I liked their romantic moments and wanted to see more of them. I love the FL x Villain ship in general since it's refreshing, so this was definitively right up my alley.

Laughed out loud so much. XD The main character's reasoning is ridiculous and shameless, lol. The interactions between the characters are so much fun. The main couple gets a 5/5 for fun banter and chemistry.

The story itself is 4/5 because my brain can't comprehend some of the logic - the story was overall fun to read because of the characters and I like that most of the characters kind of find their own answer to the question of whether it's right or wrong to sacrifice a few to save many,... more>> but the author didn't use the OP ML very well. If he was so powerful, there were a lot of pointless things happening. I guess you could say the ML was probably super bored? Overall, it's a fun silly story. <<less

This is surprisingly really good! It's a Very enjoyable and fun read but I'm not gonna delved into the plot since I came here for the romance im gonna talk abt the romance

Shen wanqing our FL has a carefree personality and everything she does and thoughts really makes you laughed out loud sometimes but what I really love about her is her morality, she did not deny her feelings for falling in love with the villain instead she protects and stand on his side and even helps

Xie Wuyan our ML is the classic villain with tragic backstory according to the original author but he's not the villain in this book. Enuf said!

I really really love the dynamics between them! They're so hilarious together and also the sweetest like no one would love them the way they love each others. They would literally die for each other and it's so touching and that's what makes me love this book so much

there were a bit of angst from each arc and also bc of what happened to our MCs like I really used all my energy of holding back my tears bc I was reading in public yet I failed miserably, thankfully its not that long but it truly make you feel bitter but the ending is really sweet so I'm saved <<less

I also really love the way they love each other. They're really in love to the point of sacrificing everything and betraying everyone in the world for each other. I really like the FL especially. She doesn't care about being nice or whatnot, she doesn't stop ML from killing somebody just because its considered bad. Its a breath of fresh air really and I would love to read more FL like her. Its the complete opposite of the original Protagonists tho hahaha. I bet you would be frustrated because they're so effing righteous all the time. Even if one of them is about to die they would still hesitate to finish off the enemy T__T. LIke are you serious?????? But I'm glad they're not just shallow, they're like that because its the author who made them like that. They also have character development at the end too, which was really nice.

I really love this story. MC was so funny. Her rambling and her interaction with ML were also quite hilarious. There were few angsts and heart-wrenching moments but thankfully, it didn't take long to finish so I didn't even manage to shed a tear before the happiness came again.

However, although this novel had cultivation theme, the essence of cultivation itself was almost neglected in this story. Until now, I don't know the cultivation level of MC, ML, orgML, and orgFL. Even when there was enemy, the author only described it... more>> as weaker or stronger than the protagonists. There was also no description about the cultivation method in that world other than the evil one, such as: sucking cultivator's soul.

However, although the world building in this story was quite lacking, it's still enjoyable to read so I still give it full stars. <<less

It was refreshing and hilarious. I don't care what people say about this story being similar to Black Lotus. I like this one more. The FL was hilarious and ML had a proper personality instead of just being "cold, dark and ruthless". This story is short and funny, without too much angst, so if you're tired of heavy, in-depth novels with twists and turns like me, then I definitely recommend this one. One of my favourite.... Thought at some point of reading I wanted to kill the writer 😈😈... I like that FL and ML of the original story is actually so likeable person and finally a story where current protagonists and previous protagonists don't fight among themselves but live in harmony... But really really really hate that system, it would be nice to know the background of system, like where it came from or who set it up, I even have doubt that the heavenly dao sect is the one... more>> behind this bit*h system.... There are so fuvking many sacrifice. Stop sacrificing yourself gdi. Love and relationships can be built upon something else too, not just sacrifice. If there is one or two backstory of the characters related to sacrifice then that's still okay. But EVERY CHARACTERS HAVE SAD BACKSTORY RELATED TO SACRIFICE. EITHER THEY SACRIFICED THEMSELVES, THEIR LOVED ONE SACRIFICED THEMSELVES, OR THEY WANT TO SACRIFICE OTHER FOR THE SAKE OF THEIR LOVED ONES. Like, why. I don't know guys. The the theme of this novel might be sacrifice. But STOP SHOVING THIS SACRIFICE THING TO MY FACE. I admit the author had some good points about the theme of sacrifice but for the love of god, stop telling me that points over and over again.

There are other glaring flaws as well that I saw reading this novel but at this point, I just don't care anymore.

The story started out funny and interesting and gradually became unfunny and uninteresting. And it disappointed me.

I personally give this story 2/5 but the rating of this novel in this website is just too high so I'm giving 1/5 to try lower it down a bit.

I'm not saying don't read this novel or things like that, but I'm just disappointed. With such high rating and good reviews, I expected more but in the end this is all I got. <<less
