Li Ruo Shui transmigrated to the book, the system wanted her to approach the gentle, caring, and spring-like smiling supporting male lead, Lu Zhi Yao.

She was ready to start acting when she was caught off guard by the gentle supporting male lead with a sword pointing at her.

Li Ruo Shui: ?

He approached slowly, with a smile on his lips and an excited tone: How do you know my name?

Looking at the blood on the corner of his robe, she felt that there was a need to redefine the meaning of gentleness.

On the first day of the strategy, Li Ruo Shui was thinking about how to survive.

On the second day of the strategy, she realized that he was actually a psycho, and continued to think about how to survive.

On the third day of the strategy, she found out that he was a psycho with a sensitive physical, and it seemed like it would not be difficult to survive.

……

Not knowing how many days had passed after she started her strategy, she was caught. At first she thought she had to rely on herself, but she saw him stepped through the blood and stood in front of her, and his trembling hands caressed her side face in excitement.

“They were all dead, no one could ever hurt you anymore.”

Lu Zhi Yao’s mother fed on love all her life, insanely, he thought he was different, but then he realized he was wrong.

Once tainted with love, he could no longer endure the tastelessness of the past.

He could not stop his greed, so he had to bend and beg.

“I love you, can you please love me a little more?”

The story's a 4/5 but giving it a 5 to boost ratings.

Story's similar to Black Lotus Tactics Manual but the ML here has an even more tragic backstory and is even crazier. Some people might find him to be too extreme because he has no qualms with killing people who annoy him, as far as yandere love interests go, he didn't bother me too much. He never really hurts the MC or forcefully imprisons her (though he does think of locking her up at one point cause she kept getting... more>> kidnapped by randos). He genuinely loves the MC and tries his best to accommodate her in his own flawed way. Later on, he even accepts the fact that the MC will never love him in the all-consuming way he loves her because she's normal and he's likely mentally ill, but it's okay because she does love and accepts him the way he is. At the end of the story he is even able to (emotionally) set her free to pursue what he believes is her idea of true happiness (going home to her family) even though he'd rather die without her. I'm glad they had a happy ending because honestly our boy deserved to be loved by at least one person with that upbringing.

The MC in comparison was alright. I liked that she had good instincts and was good at figuring out how to appease the people around her to survive (mainly the ML) but man did I get bored of seeing this woman getting poisoned, snatched, or snatched then poisoned, repeatedly. Wish the author didn't make her so much of a damsel in distress.

I liked that the ogFL and ML of the novel were genuinely good people though even if they were just sad foils for the ML who was somehow just so OP as a blind martial artist.

Also, I wish there were more cases for the leads to solve because besides the main trafficking case there wasn't much else there in terms of mystery. Tbh I think this story worked best when it focused on internal conflicts rather than external conflicts because the villains were flat. I really enjoyed reading about the emotional engagements between the leads but the other stuff was kind of dry.

Overall, this was an alright read. <<less

A fairly easy MTL.

ML is 100% yandere, but the author does an excellent job setting up his back story. His actions, though bizarre on the surface, are logical when viewed with his past. It's also interesting that he's blind. Since he's a Jainghu martial artist, his blindness is not realistic. That said, you don't often see a ML who is blind since birth and it was interesting seeing how a man with superhuman powers might act without sight. ... more>>
Spoiler

It's disappointing he regains his sight. CN authors seem incapable of imagining a romance with someone who has impairment. They always find a way to "cure" impaired lead. At least this happens later in the story, and long after the FL is in love with him.

[collapse]

FL is strong (mentally) and also a weird. Every now and then she is referred to as a "normal" person... A person who can love a yandere is by no means a "normal". This comes out in really interesting ways later in the novel. 😂

Though I read this MTL, I look forward to a proper translation! Definitely worth reading twice! <<less

I had to read the whole thing after reading that first chapter.

Truthfully, it was a bit hard to MTL and I did not understand some of the plot especially the villain's motivation and whatnot. However, I enjoyed reading this novel

The protagonists are good for each other and I quite like the part the FL never really asked the ML to change at all. The changes in ML was brought by himself because he's with her. At the beginning, he's full on black bellied person who only loves to kill people... more>> but in the end... Gosh he's just mwah. Every FL's suffering was paid back tenfold by his sick love.

And I never blame him. He simply did not know any better. He was unloved, used as a tool all throughout his life. No one ever explained the world to him. He doesn't have an idea what colors even look like. He mistakenly thought of andrenaline as happiness and that's why he kills for a living. And then he met the cheerful FL. No wonder his love for her was so deep.

Deep enough to even let her go.

The FL on the other hand, is pretty brave. She's quite likeable. It's a good thing she's witty enough to make the ML spare her life at first. And the she got acclimated to his clingyness. Oh well they're perfect together. I guess the bad side is she has penchant of being poisoned lol. I think it happened 4 times. Good thing she has the system.

Anyway, it was an enjoyable read. The chapters are long so the translator might take a while but I'll still read it.

The ending was satisfactory. 4 stars. Would read again. <<less

I absolutely loved the story. This is one of the first novels that I was willing to MTL, because the plot characters itself felt so addicting not to know the end of.

The premise of the story is a young woman, called Li Ruo Shui entering this world and given this mission to make a second ML to fall in love with her. The second male lead or the ML in this story, Lu Zhi Yao encounters her for the first time and he doesn't automatically fall in love with her.... more>> He doesn't automatically give up his entire personality or do a 180 after a second glance at her, it was such a natural build up.

This is probably one of my favorite female leads I have ever read, in my entire life. During the ending portions of the book, the FL misses her home. She missed her home that she had originally lived in, and stated that she missed her parents. To have a female lead who understands that love isn't her entire world and personality, has been one of the most refreshing things to read. Because I 100% know, if some freaking parallel universe I was in her shoes, I would be bawling my eyes every day missing my parents and home. She truly looks like a grounded individual, who has so much other multifaceted sides to her other than being in love.
Spoiler

Afterward, the few chapters was describing about how she had missed her parents to the point where it was almost aching. She acknowledged that she loves that ML, she also recognizes that she is a person outside of just love, and that she needs her family just as much as she would need him. The female states, that she would not be the same person that she is if it wasn't for her family and she would not be a type of person who would give up her family just for one individual.

[collapse]

ML literally changed my entire perspective on yandere male leads, I have never really enjoyed yandere books because I feel like it's so unrealistic and honestly toxic. But this is one of the first few books, where he was truly understood for his actions and the depth of his actions were actually explored, other than just as a plot device to move along the romantic plot line. They've both felt like people and human beings, rather than two couples who I would never care about after I finish reading the book.

All in all, read the novel (thank you to the amazing translators) and MTL if you have to because it is so so worth it. <<less

It's really bittersweet. It's quite sad how her love will never be as deep as him. I really pity the male lead. Plus, even though his obsessions and love are strong, he is unbelievably pure af. Like, he doesn't understand feelings— but once he loves, it is extreme and he's aware of it. He knows she can't love him the way he loves her but he still had to accept what's been given.

Now, about FL's adventures and experiences— it was like a bad roller coaster ride! She never seems to... more>> catch a break.

Spoiler

-Poisoned in place of ML, every month on 15th will experience extreme bone piercing cold, when close to a fire will feel like slashing knife on her body (luckily, ML's body/internal energy can ward off the cold so they be hugging all the time~)
-Stopped a dagger for ML, was stabbed/slashed on her palm, he can avoid but refuse to (maybe just to test her? Idk)
-Kidnapped by a male antagonist and he vented on her by whipping on her arms and legs 5-6 times, she endured the pain without crying out because the man is a sad*st who enjoys others' pain
-Kidnapped again and was fed a Gu worm by ML's biological mother and became a puppet, controlled by a bell, over times, the bell ringing can also cause unbearable pain
-As a puppet who can't speak up, she had to bear hunger one time cause no one notice (The ML usually barely ate too, or in her words, he ate like a cultivator, that's why he didn't notice)

I'm hooked by the first chapter that I couldn't stop myself to find the mtl and finished it, and it's worth it since the mtl is easy to understand.

idk how to describe this story, it's sweet and bloody at the same time, ML is a twisted yandere because of his dark past, and our MC's task is to bring HE for him as the capture target. You can see clearly how their feelings developed, not just the ML but also our MC.

sometimes in these kind of story I wonder how... more>> ML could develop such a heavy obsession when the MC didn't do much, but it's understandable here and would be weird if ML isn't obsessed with MC.

and trust me you will be grateful for his obsession later, and ML is not an obsessed person who like to force MC to satisfy his greed, he listen to MC to the point of he's willing to dig his heart and take his life if MC asked for it and rather torture himself than hurt MC.

i wonder how this story will end, but fortunately the system in the story is quite useful, tho at the beginning it didn't do much except for giving warning at critical condition and issuing reward. <<less

This is the kind of yandere that I've been craving for SO LONG. The ML is simply just sick in the head (also seems like it's partly genetic so we can't really blame him that much) LOL. His way of thinking is different from most people. But he is not abusive to MC when he came to truly care about her. Dark themes yes, but their relationship somehow??? Makes sense??? I would not say healthy in a normal way but I think it's the healthiest a yandere relationship can be.... more>> Mentally strong & level-headed MC + Unhinged but devoted ML (And by that I mean like, devoted). Also, the SLOWBURN is just *chef kiss*. Doesn't feel like instalove, the developments are written nicely. ML doesn't 'change' for her, it's basically:

MC: "'i could fix him' yeah? Well I could accept him as he is."

I literally stumbled through MTL with word translators on another tabs just to read this one story. It's that good. Somehow in the middle of it I realize that the writing is just??? Immersive??? Even when the translation on MTL is highkey butchered I still can see that the original writing is great. Especially the way the author creates certain atmospheres and writes chemistry between the characters. They're just so on point (I really, really like how the overall nuances turned out to be extra intimate and sensual in the later part of the story like UGH it's SO good my heart can't take it). The writing style is so visceral, and I love it SO much *cries*

Also the ML is a sub so bonus point :)

The plot is standard, there are some cannon fodders but they're not really frustating and have their own motivations (to some degree), don't expect anything big though. What I really wish were different were the conflict development. I think it will be better if it focused more on the internal conflict (since I think what really interesting is the two main characters dynamic). But don't let that hinder you cause apart from that it's worth it. When everything falls down and the ML is whipped it's literally So. Freaking. Good. Never seen something like this before. Deffo highly recommended :D <<less

Darn, what a roller coaster this was! If you’ve read Black lotus tactics, it’s kinda in the same vein but with a bit more seriousness and a focus on the MC and ML’s relationship. For once, instead of a cliche yandere lead we have an author who chose to shape, humanize while never excusing his behavior. Despite all of this, this novel came off as a a very light, sometimes crazy, but also quite adorable read. To be fair, it’s meant for readers who enjoys delving into those morally... more>> gray areas... Also it’s easy to MTL! So what are u waiting for? <<less

The whole feeling I had in this novel is just

"ML feels like a puppy learning to love"

Though this puppy is a feral one and can easily kill you. Hes so... pure? But so twisted, every time MC gets a memory shard it just feels so bittersweet for me

The ending is good in my opinion but it lacked a little because I wanted more haha

As others have said, this is the real deal. Most yandere ML ever. I've always though I disliked yanderes but this is an exception. Have you ever read about a non toxic yandere romance? Me neither, until this one.

ML is dangerous (he's extremely trigger happy), he's a blind martial artist with a dark (twisted) past that made him lack any common sense or "normalcy". He's bored and detached from everything. At first, he only lives to kill people so he can feel the adrenaline rush. FL has to step carefully... more>> at the beginning, keeping him curious enough about her so he won't kill her just yet but not mysterious enough to be annoying.

Now, the best, unique twist is that unlike most novels of the genre, where yandere MLs start off with a "normal" facade and get increasingly abusive and unhinged after they fall in love
Spoiler

like ML's mother, yes, that's right, we have 2 yandere characters here

[collapse]

Lu Zhiyao is the opposite. He starts off crazy unhinged and gets increasingly careful and attentive as he falls in love, to the point of giving her freedom to leave him forever if that will make her happier even if he knows he can't live without her.

FL is strong, loyal and incredibly good under pressure (she shrugs off mu*der attempts and near deaths like a pro). She's "normal" in the sense she doesn't get into his head nor tries to be like him, but she's patient and understanding. She won't ask him to change but she won't change for him either.
Spoiler

I liked that she never forgot or gave up on returning to her family, is it sad for ML? Yes, but as she said, for her, love is a part of her life and she can't just abandon everything else that makes her who she is. Nice, I'm tired of the shallow love of typical protagonist with loving family who transmigrates and just goes "Oh, well, I have a brother to take care of my parents anyways."

[collapse]

Very much recommended. Romance is wholesome, zero abuse or red flags. FL and ML are perfect for each other, anyone else in FL's role would have gotten a BE. <<less

First real yanderes I found in romantic fiction. This novel paints a realistic portrait of obsessive love, with the perfect balance between love and obsession in Lu Zhiyao's case, and a disturbing seesaw in Bai Qingqing's case.

Both Li Ruoshui (MC) and Lu Zhiyao (ML) 's characters evolve throughout the story and seeing them adapt to the other person is very satisfying, especially since each of them love & accept the other person just as they are but they are willing to change and improve themselves to make the relationship smoother.

MTL... more>> is pretty rough in some parts. In long sentences, it completely messes up who is doing what, names become common nouns, etc.... but the wedding night is surprisingly readable and blush-worthy 😘

The endings... well... I erased them from my mind. Neither the 1st (BE) nor the 2nd (unrealistic HE) felt satisfying but ymmv. <<less

One of the novels where I would prefer a bad ending.

Not much to say about the plot because personally, I don't find it interesting. The motivations behind the antagonists actions aren't very compelling. As other reviewers have mentioned, the FL gets in trouble very frequently. So much so that even I need a break from the ridiculousness.

Can't say I like the ori!FL very much. More often than not the FL gets into sticky situations because of the ori!FL but the ori!FL just "feels bad". Honestly, I find the ori!FL a... more>> bit redundant? She disappeared as quickly as she appeared.

On the other hand, I love the ML very much. Mainly because I already do love yandere MLs so when it is so well written, oh I love it so much! The 4*s for this novel are solely just for him. He turned from someone who doesn't understand love to someone who is so fearlessly in love.

The MC is well, realistic. She has attachments to her family back home so in a way she can't wholeheartedly stay with the ML. She is rational and navigates well through the situations she has been placed in. I love how she accepted the ML for who he is instead of wanting him to change. For someone like the ML wanting him to change is just making him surpass himself and altering his personality so in the end is it still really him?

Anyway, as much as I love the romance, the reason why I would accept a BE is due to the last arc. Once the ML's favorability for the MC reaches 100, the MC can go back to her original world. The MC is also not someone who will give up everything for love so in this case what will happen to the ML if she leaves? Major spoilers below-

Spoiler

In the last arc, the ML realized that the MC will leave once his favorability reaches 100 so he forcefully distances himself because he didn't want the MC to leave and at some point, the MC finds out. The MC is not in a rush to brush up his favorability because her going back is not a priority. In the end, the ML lets her go because he thinks that the MC is not happy with him as she broke down once saying she misses her family.

Prior to the MC leaving she wrote a lot of letters to the ML wanting to leave her presence until she comes back. The system gave the MC an exclusive gift pack for completing missions but I don't think it explicitly stated that she could come back to him.

The ML thinks that she's just humoring him and that she's never coming back so after the MC left, he ended his life which is what the ML thinks is his perfect ending without her. This led to a system error and some stuff in between which in turn, allowed the MC to travel both sides having the best of both worlds.

This part is where it feels forced. I don't understand how the MC expect the ML to live on without her when he has shown time and time again that she's literally his life. The MC gave verbal assurance that she was going to be back but for someone as paranoid as the ML, how can he believe that? He doesn't know about the system and although he has seen how she healed his eyes it still wasn't enough. The author showed so much of the ML's reluctance to acceptance of the MC leaving so it feels cheap to just insert in a "system error" to achieve the "perfect happy ending".

Naturally, it's not like the MC is at fault for wanting to go back but it was a bit naïve of her to think that she can have the best of both worlds without consequences when she has seen firsthand how obsessed the ML is with her. MC have a home she misses but for the ML, home is where the MC is at so MC leaving also took away ML's home.

I think the saddest part is that we see ML learning about love throughout the story and finally having something precious but with MC's departure, it's like he's back to square one, having nothing left.

Although the MC did her best to love and assure the ML, it is difficult to get through the ML because their thinking is totally different. In this particular situation with this kind of ML, the fact that the MC left should have already been a bad ending.

MC's choice is not wrong but she should still face the consequences of her choices.

[collapse]

Although this novel ended as a HE, it felt like the author is stuffing the HE into my face. Despite the fact that I didn't like the ending nor enjoyed the plot very much, I would still recommend giving this a try for the romance development and the main characters. <<less

I love it. Its not typical CN novel. I liked FL both and ML.

FL is not OP but ordinary girl. She is smart, funny, appearance lover who love our ML for who he really is. She is not trying to change him, but patiently guides him to good relationship.

ML is blind, good looking man, yandere. He had sad childhood with abusive mother and cruel master and crocked idea about love. Because of his past its not weird that he become a psycho. Thanks to our FL he start to realise... more>> true meaning of "love" world. Of course even with good influence od FL he is not normal - he is still pe*vert, too obsessed with her, clingy and sociopath but he truly loves her. I really recommend this novel. <<less

OMG SO GOOOD. The FL isn’t OP, but she’s smart, funny, adaptable to situations, and understanding (without being a mary sue). She’s a very realistic character with her own morals and thought process but she doesn’t impose her views on the ML which is so healthy and amazing to see in a relationship. I must be missing something here. Because I think the writing is pretty mediocre to bad? Perhaps it's the translations? Idk but I think maybe all the ppl who like it just really like yandere romance story. For me, I just like well written stories with romance. The beginning is vague without much description on anyone. The set up isn't really there. The emotion, I feel nothing. More exposition, classic system and MC conplaining and stuff. Like I learn the ML is blind simply bc we are told he is... more>> and then I am only reminded he's blind bc he asks for his stick later. It's giving basic writing skills. The world building is just ok. Uh.

Idk I mean fair if you like it, especially if you're into yandere stories I guess, but personally I think this is so lacking in writing and engagement. I got bored so fast bc the writing couldn't ground me. I dropped it. <<less

Thanks to sleepy translations for picking this up. I couldn't help myself when I got to the end of the translated chapter so I did MTL.

I agree with a lot of the reviews. Quite a lot of similarities with black lotus tactics manual but a little crazier and more mature. Both have the ML trying to kill them at the start before falling in love. Both teaches some moves to the FL. Here, Lu Zhiyao forces her to learn the sword because she casually agreed to it not knowing he... more>> was going to toss her straight into a fight with an assassin as practice.

The interactions between them are so sweet and I just had to read more. His actions can be funny because it betrays common sense due to his upbringing and she would understand and accept it. I love that Li Ruoshui is so focus on going home because she has her family. So often, authors gloss over it or write them as an orphan or from an abusive home. However, this creates a dilemma at the end. The ending was alright but I was left wanting more. I still like it and thinks it's worthy of a reread once it's fully translated. <<less
