The Villainess Won’t Let the Main Leads Break Up!

Shen Wanqing has transmigrated into a xuanhuan-angst novel! In the novel, the male and female lead’s love story is full of misunderstandings, leading to heartbreak and hurt. In the end, one is dead, and one is wounded.

Shen Wanqing looks at the evil villainess she has transmigrated into, “I understand, my mission must be to break apart the male and female lead, and then win the male lead’s heart, right?”

The system: “No, your mission is to turn this novel into a cute love story.”

Shen Wanqing, “…”

Thus, the evil villainess Shen Wanqing starts working hard for the love of the main leads. But….

‘Alert! The male lead forgot that the female lead doesn’t eat spicy food, he put pepper into the fried pork dish again!’

‘Alert! The villain who has an unrequited love for the female lead has appeared next to her again!’

‘Alert! The cannon fodder side female character has drugged the male lead!’

And just like this, in order to prevent the protagonists from breaking up, Shen Wanqing carefully worked hard on the frontlines. Until one day, the villain who had an unrequited love for the female lead came to find her.

This villain who was rumoured to be violent and bloodthirsty, faintly smiled at her, “Young lady, being a meddler will only lead to death.”

Shen Wanqing was about to open her mouth when the system rang again in her mind, ‘Warning! The main leads are about to break up again!’

She was silent for a while, and then said, “…what about this, can you let me go stop a fight first?”

The villain, “…”

Later on, someone asked Shen Wanqing how she managed to tame the evil monster villain.

Shen Wanqing, “I don’t know, he came running to me first.”

The villain, “?”

It's a good read but I would only read it once.. There's too much tragedy for me, if it weren't for the MC's humour I would've dropped it a long time ago. The villain's background is pretty cliche, it's the usual misunderstood villain with a tragic background. The 3 extra chapters are unrelated to the main Storyline.

I personally liked the 2 original protagonists, instead of turning into villains like other novels, they were the only ones who stood by the 2 protagonists, didn't hesitate to face death for... more>> them.

MC is also very likable and funny, her antics continuously made the ML speechless he couldn't even maintain his houlier than thou attitude 🤣

There were very unsettling moments such as r*pe, kidnapping, torture and human sacrifice in this novel. So readers beware.

Major spoiler :

Heavenly dao sect are truly disgusting. They act self righteous, acting as if what they're doing was for the sake of the people, yet they didn't hesitate to summon monsters to slaughter a town just to make the MC use her abilities. They gathered all sorts of rare and powerful techniques but didn't share with other sects. The way I see it, they're really just greedy for power and control. They could've cooperated with other sects and shared their knowledge to fight the demons together, but they chose something easier which is to sacrifice MC and ML's clan members.

It was infuriating how much inhumane torture was put through their clan. Basically they were slaughtered originally because they were too powerful to be controlled, the remainder of their clan were forced to conceive descendants, afterwards they will be burned alive to supplement the force that pushed the demons back.

That's right, they were chained in the dungeon, r*ped and then burned alive after giving birth. Their descendants also suffered the same fate, it's a never ending cycle of abuse. ML's mom had it worse, because the sect wanted to create a weapon with the clan and demon's bloodline, she was r*ped by a demon. So although she was shown to despise the ML, neither the ML or me feel like wanting to hate her because she had lost her sanity.

The system is a piece of shit, this is why I hate novels with systems that could dictate what the MC could do.

it turns out that the system had gotten other hosts before the MC but all of them died, the system also lied to MC a lot, so eventhough the system promised her she would reincarnate in a different world after her mission was done, it was highly likely to be a lie.

The system wanted her to submit to the heavenly dao sect and continue to breed descendants to continue the cycle of torture. It's disgusting.

A bit unsatisfied with the ending, the heavenly dao sect didn't really receive retribution for their evil but continue to survive.

The cultivation part isn't very well written, but it doesn't really matter since the story isn't focused on cultivation <<less

I didn't like this story as much as I thought I would. I think romance is lacking and not enough dog food, there's not much fluff either. The leads don't even realize their feelings till 50-60 chapters (out of 78) and then they are separated and by the time they re-unite, it's only handful of chapters left. So where's the fluff? Where's the dog food? ML's story made me cry a lot. I wish I had liked this a bit more.

A solid story that's very similar to Black Lotus Tactics Manual though just a little weaker in writing ... more>>

The characters in this novel minus the two main leads don't feel as well-rounded as the characters in BLTM. The Original FL and ML of the novel universe are a little bland compared to the original leads in BLTM. Also, the story doesn't feel as tragic? It focuses more on the funny side of things so it tugs at the heartstrings just a little less.

The MC and ML are really sweet together and their early interactions are hilarious. Their early relationship was like cat and mouse/Tom and Jerry because the ML had fun teasing the MC while the MC had fun being so shameless that the ML didn't even know how to react lol.

Considering the story's only 80 chapters long and the chapters aren't too long, it's a pretty good quick time killing read. I read the MTL version and it was very readable. <<less

Yes, so far this its like Guide to capture a black lotus but less serious and more humorous take, the FL is not the brightest bulb but I admire her shameless thick face, proactive... more>>

lol first time I see a transmigrating protagonist just go for the "lets just go kill big villain while he is still weak" strategy

and positive actitude and quick thinking in coming out with things to said in a crisis. She knows she is failing but she will rather think positive and keep trying than fall to despair due to her impossible mission.

While indeed her schemes to get rid of the villain have all failed, she keeps coming up with something instead of being a passive flailing protagonist and she is so entertaining to read, she cant run away due to system missions and is "against" an OP villain she cant even scratch, can kill her on a whim and already suss her out, I think this tidbit encapsules her personality:

When the time comes, she could remind him in a roundabout way and maybe even get rid of the villain.

But still, it was better to be safe than sorry.

Shen Wanqing pondered, found a paper and pen, and quietly wrote the line, “If I die, the mu*derer is Xie Wuyan”, and then stuffed it under her mattress.

Then she snuggled in her quilt and went to bed happily.

One life for a life, even if she were to die, she still would take one out with her too.

The black lotus is not attracted to her from first sight or such rubbish, he only did not kill her on first meeting due to:

her being a super rare perfect ingredient to make/strenghtening? A sword, but he has to keep her alive until then, just her corpse wouldt work for it and some idle curiosity about who would so s*upid to send such an useless assasin and later what seems to be the sheer entertaining he gets from her antics (cant say I blame him, she is top class jester)

They have a very hilarious interactions where they stick to their facade, even tought they both "know" about the other and know the other knows about their knowing and so for. <<less

I absolutely love this! For everyone comparing this to Black Lotus Tactics Manual, I believe this story to be superior. The only similarity is the setting and type. Other than that, the premise and characters are much more likeable.

The FL ... more>>

Definitely doesn't take this world so seriously that her morals would corrupt her chances of survival. She has killed on numerous occasions. Considering the type of story this is, it makes sense that a side character can't afford to be merciful to merciless ppl.

The ML

is a yandere and finicky sometimes, but he quickly directs that energy to his enemies, while teasing the FL. He's traumatized, clearly, from his childhood, but what differentiates this from BLTM is that this ML knows how to NOT spit on someone's goodwill or endanger the FL, allowing her to nearly be killed, and then get mad when she's mad he nearly killed her. This ML doesn't immediately fall in love, and I appreciate that.

they don't really have a personality. I don't have a big impression, but at least they're actually righteous characters. Even when massively jealous, the OGFL didn't break her character type, and you can't actually understand why she was liked and known as forgiving.

The system

so inconsequential that it shouldn't even exist, but at least the task isn't as unbearably s*upid as it is in BLTM. This one gives, really delayed, notifications, but it doesn't drive every aspect of the story.

I like the plot and that the FL doesn't know everything. I also like

that the FL becomes less terrified that the ML will mu*der her at any given moment. It's hard to imagine a romance when one is absolutely terrified of another.

Novel absolutely not recommended to read.

Within 4 chapters the incompetent worthless female protagonist has utterly blundered about, not being able to complete anything for her mission (entirely unexplained why she wants to complete said mission) and simply surviving due to author's whims of giving MC plot armor and ML being astonishingly attracted to her right away.

A completely IQ drained novel where the MC literally goes up to the big villain with a dagger and comes up with an impossible excuse as to why she was there. Earlier she tried to... more>> repair her relationship with the heroine by saying dumb compliment lines that were the exact same as the fodder who existed before her.

And no, this is not the comedic portion here, unless the funny bit is that the MC is so s*upid that she thinks she's doing a good job.

-300tril/10 MC is s*upid beyond comprehensible belief. Absolutely no solid story nor point to reading.

Edit: Novel gets worse near the ending. Complete nonsense where everything is instantly solved along with moronic drama about MC or ML dying and system nonsense. Even the initial premise is ruined. Horrible novel. <<less

Very refreshing as the novel, if not for the main character's personality, would have gone off on a tragic route. The FL, Shen Wanqing, shines here as she is so different as a character. You can say that she's dumb, but at the same time she also figures out things fast. Her friendly personality also doesn't deter her from wantonly doing what she wants (with or without the ML to support her) even if her decision may be morally questioned by others. I like her for actually being selfish about... more>> wanting to live and wanting to protect the people around her. She can be strong and tough during dire situations, and at the same time, knows how to be coquettish and act like a baby towards ML. She, while not being the most powerful in the novel, has a strong heart and mind and I admire that. She dares to love, hate, kill, save, and forge her own path.

ML, Xie Wuyan, is also just... chef's kiss. He doesn't fall in love with FL immediately and even wanted to kill her had he not discovered FL's unique physique that he can use in the future and her amusing idiotic antics. He loves teasing and pissing her off while making sure that she's safe from harm. Initially, she was just a tool for him that he can use, but gradually as he interacted more with the FL, he felt that FL made his world warm and colorful, no longer lonely as before. Of course, his heart moved for FL after all, FL would always worry and protect him despite knowing about his identity (also FL is just so adorably funny and dumb lol). His love for her grew deep enough that even when he should not have any sense of self on the brink of death, he still kept his promise to stay alive and remember her name. Haaah, him in his Xie Guoqing era was very cute.

Finally, OGFL and OGML didn't turn villainous! They're genuinely good people and are pure at heart. They were written to have a savior complex so they always wanted to save every person they encounter until FL made them rethink their perspectives. They always supported our leads' backs even upon discovering that ML is the demon king that they should defeat. The dynamic of OGML (FL's 'brother' since FL is adopted by his family) and ML after ML and FL got together is so funny to me lol.

The novel really made me rethink morality, especially regarding the aspect of sacrificing a few to save the majority. I mean, is anyone really willing to sacrifice themselves just to save people they don't know? Probably not. The novel made me realize that maybe, just maybe, there is a choice to not do any sacrifices. Everyone gets to live their lives in peace. Of course, this is just ideal, not realistic as there will be no ML who gets very OP in the end and basically can control the whole world and prevent it from collapsing lol. <<less

This is a gem. I loved the novel. Its really funny, its so funny that you will burst out laughing. If you dont want to think too much and just want fluffy romance and comedy then this is perfect. This is one of the novels where you come back to read when you are having bad days and just want to laugh and feel good. I loved all the characters too.

FL - She is too s*upid and cute. This is comedy novel so FL being a little s*upid is totally... more>> fine for me. But she is not annoying s*upid, its cute s*upid. She is also very practical and doesnt just go about being good or bad. She has her own judgement and she is not a mary sue who forgives everyone who hurts her. She doesnt defend or save someone who tries to hurt her.

ML - I loved him. I cant even imagine he was even able to think like a human after what he has gone through. He is very caring towards the FL. He also slowy starts accepting other people in his world gradually after meeting the FL.

He has a very tragic past. His body will be very useful for making strong weapon so his blood, bones and flesh are used again and again to make weapons for hundreds of years. He is tortured beyond imagination. He finally escapes from there and meets the FL.

Original ML and FL - I loved them. Initially although they were blindly righteous, they had their own beliefs and stuck to them and even went against their family to protect the FL and ML.

The FL transmigrates and her task will be to keep the original FL and original ML together. The ML will be a demon king who would have escaped from where he was sealed. He would have loved the original FL in the original storyline so she will interfere between them so gradually they become close.

The bloodline of the FL will be very special and very useful for making weapons so her whole bloodline will be killed and her mother hides her and saves her and she grows ups safely in the original MLs family. When this secret is out so many people try to take her but the ML, original ML and FL protect her. The story is about their journey.

I hated those people from the sect trying to asking the FL to sacrifice herself for the good for people. I hate this whole crap where people say killing few to save thousands is fine. Unless they are the ones that are dying, they dont have the right to chose. They also tortured and killed all her bloodline, tortured the ML, they would have also keep all the souls of the FLs bloodline after they die, so that they can make them reincarnate and use their body over and over again. The demons are much better compared to these people.

Finally those sect people attack with full force and the ML sacrifices himself to save the FL and sends her away to a place he was hiding before. The original FL and ML will be hurt trying to protect them too. The FL will be very sad and she comes to know that he is sealed again and she saves him, but he would have lost his mind and would have become like an animal only listening to her. She meets the original ML and FL along the way. They would have changed a lot and fought with their sect as their sect people will also be asking the FL to sacrifice herself. So they leave the sect and will be travelling helping people along the way. When they meet them again they try to protect FL and ML and help them.

The sect would have developed a powerful sword by sacrificing many people and the ML will be become the last sacrifice for it but he makes use of this and make the sword as part of his body. So he becomes that strong sword. More powerful than any demon or sect. The ML regains his senses and they get married and live happily. Everyone will be scared of him and no one tries to kill him or the FL. In turn they will be trying to make friends with them and those crappy sect people also invite back the original ML and original FL as they will have a good relation with the ML and all try to please him.

There lot of comedy aspects too but this is better to read so I havent included them in the spoilers. Basically the comedy is there from start to end.

Its a very cute and funny novel. I loved all the characters. I binged it in a day. Go for it. <<less

This is my first review. I'm not good at words and I'm also not good at English but I just wanted to say that this novel is really good. You might consider the novel cliche at first sight because of transmigrated MC and villain ML but for me, I think this novel are one of the rare ones you'll see on Chinese transmigration novels where MC is not a weak, gentle, generous little flower nor is she cold-blooded, smart, and op, I can only describe her personality as unique, uh,... more>> she's sometimes both smart and s*upid haha. And the ml, there is a tag male yandere but he's actually not very obsessed and possessive of MC unlike other mls in Chinese novels. He is a bit of a tsundere but he genuinely loves and cares for the MC very much. I love the interactions between MC and ML because it will always make the reader feel amused and funny. Oh! And there is also another reason why I love this novel. The side characters, which are the original protagonists of the novel MC transmigrated into are good characters. A rare occurrence. Because other Chinese transmigration novels always makes the og main leads of the novel MC transmigrates s*upid and brain dead characters. And aside from the original protagonists, there are also cannon fodders that has unique personalities along the way which makes it even more interesting. The novel isn't about full of drama and angst except for a bit of tragic background of MC and ml, overall, it's a fluffy and light novel with a lot of comedy between main leads and the other characters. I very much enjoyed reading the book and I hope that, you will too :)

As for the one who wrote a 1 star rating, they did sound like they make sense but it's obvious that they only pointed out the mc's flaws and not the good points. Plus, they also didn't even finish reading the novel so the way they write the review is really deliberately trying to shoo away the readers.

As for the translations, they did a great job as well. Although I have finished reading the novel in mtl version, it's still better to read it in a fully translated version where you don't rack your brains trying to figure out what sentence that, sentence this means 😂.

Please give this novel a chance :) <<less

Very interesting story! Finally task to help ormain leads promote their relationship~ Wanqing is funny and active, sometimes silly and... she's evil. Or not righteous? It's humorous story of person trying her best to help couple to maintain their relationship and promote world peace by unskilledly trying to kill evil villain and said villain playing with her cat and mouse games. He too has his cute moments of childish tantrums, and relationship very harmonious. And as cherry on top babbling pigeon.

Totally recommended, if nothing just trust this nitpicking reader blindly for this once because if you go into my profile and review section you would really find I’m by no means satisfied with just anything I stumbled upon. As it really has to have everything, like seriously everything from good plot to good angst scenes that helps you to connect with the story and it’s characters. FYI I ain’t gonna spoil anything as I really want others to give it a chance with their true feelings.
Really worth the time not only to read but also laughing your ass off from time to time, NO DOUBT BOTH FL AND ML ARE top notch match for each other. Besides it’s the perfect novel for me as I love grey morality based characters more, never felt any scenes too dull from the beginning to end.

Some people complain it’s not tragic enough (?) but I think we need more stories that are relatively lighthearted still when there are still distressing pasts and stuff. Also extreme drama is sooooo unnecessary so this has been so far a refreshing read. Also appreciate that is relatively short as I think some novels that get dragged out hundreds of chapters are just too much and you really lose the plot of it all.

Why it is so good! The novel is just amazing. It made me laugh, cry, happy, sad, angry. The FL is so funny and my heart goes for the ml, he suffered too much! I cried so many times while reading it. It deserves 5 stars even though I wanted to know about the system which is finished hastily. But still it's too good to read

I give this a 5 star just for making me laugh very chapter. I love how shamelessly the FL is. It's literally broody powerful ML x shameless funny FL who are both dense about their feelings for each other. I'm just here for the comedy. If you think about how the FL is super weak and only relies 99% of the time on the ML to get her out of sticky situations, you won't really enjoy this and find the FL annoying. But in all fairness, FL just wants to... more>> be a wealthy salted fish but the novel's system is f*cking rigged so I''m more annoyed with that.

Overall, 5 stars for comedy. 😆😆😆😆😆 <<less

Actually 4.5 stars but I just hate this one part so much that I have to deducted it to 4 stars.

I stumbled upon this story and got interested since it got such high rating and it did not disappoint. Such a great read.

What started off as this little comedic villainous girl novel turned very dark very quickly. Some parts are just heartbreaking that I cried my eyes out. Some parts are so sweet I wish it never ends. I actually think this novel would be great as a TV series... more>> coz it has everything needed to make it big.

It's one of a few stories where the original ML and FL are likable. They might be pretty naive but they are genuinely good people and in the end, they have their own growth.

It's also the only story I have seen where the system is hateful as in that it doesn't work with the agent (MC) at all but just blindly follow its protocol, even hurting the MC at times to force her to do what it wants.

I really like the MC character. She's a true morally grey character and such a human. So she presents quite a contrast to the original main leads. The ML also raises the bar for all the MLs out there. Their relationship dynamic were funny and sweet and heartwarming. You can see why they love each other so deeply and have done so much to be together.

The back stories of the MC and the Male Lead were both gut-wrenching and rage-inducing. And it's actually such a great timing to read this story (at the moment I read, the issue between Israel and Palestine was trending) it made you question the status quo.

Are the people who claim to be "good" truly good people?

Are heinous acts done in the name of "greater good" truly good?

And if you have to accomplish these terrible deeds to win against the other party, does that make you the "good guys"?

I applause the author for writing about these hard subjects and still make it entertaining to read.

The only thing I don't like and the reason why I have to deduct a star is in the spoiler. Read at your own risks!

I just wish the Heavenly Dao Palace got a much deserved punishment. They basically breed the blood-burning clan as if they're farm animal. Forced them to breed (aka. R*pe) to continue the bloodline, then forced them to become a human tool for others to use until the last drop of their blood dry, and once they died, they were not allowed to reincarnate but bound to be reborn to continue the cycle.

At the end, all the ML did was freeing the spirits of the blood-burning clan and just hit a few Heavenly Dao Palace disciples. For the crime they have done, it was just not enough. I wish the author would make this evil place burn to the ground and all their disciples past or present went through life worse than death, the way they did to the blood-burning clan.

I just couldn't stand the lecture these self-righteous elders and disciples kept spouting around towards ML&MC who are the last of their clan as if they suffer so much they had to force these people to die for the greater good. And in the end, we all can see that the tribe called "monsters" are even not that bad. Just as there are bad people, there are bad monsters. That's all.

Also, the slices of life chapters at the end are such a nice read. Love every single one of it. <<less

  • I do not really like to read cultivation novels, but the fact that I have fully read this and gave it 4 stars means it is quite good! Pros:

    • This novel is just right in length. It is not too long nor too short, which is a plus.
    • It is funny, the FMC and ML's interactions were the highlights of this novel in my opinion.
    • It has likeable side characters. Especially the OG male lead and female lead.
    • The plot is not hard to follow, and there aren't many 'cultivation terms'.
Cons: (in my opinion)

    • The MC/FL: she is not proactive in the slightest, she likes to laze around and only started being proactive near the end of the novel, which was a waste of her talent. She is also morally gray, which kinda makes sense; anyone would be if they entered the world of a book suddenly, however it still is a bit off-putting how she does not hesitate at all to commit mu*der or do something bad. It felt like she was originally a bit of a bad person.
    • I dislike the Author's view when it comes to who's bad guy and who's good guy. It is very messy. And it seems as if every character has that view, which in turn makes everyone in the novel lacking depth.
Overall, it really is good. The cons were my opinions and if you do enjoy a light read, then go ahead and give it a try.

Short, lighthearted, and doesn't overstay its welcome. The author cares about realism in their characters, and even the side characters act as you would expect someone in their shoes would. Favorite characters were the original ML and FL, which was surprising. I thought they would be annoying cookie cutters reading the summary, and while they kind of are, they're exactly what I hope for from true-good characters. Overall a recommend, the translation is hard to follow at times but if you read mtl often you won't even notice.

This novel is funny. It is written from the FL's perspective. Her thoughts are hilarious. The interaction between FL and ML is funny and full of misunderstanding. And I like how their feelings for each other grew without even they themselves realising it. Their background is sad and I am looking forward to see the ending. Sooo funny. It pretends to be all fluff, no plot, but it's not. There's a surprising amount of angst hidden in the fluff, along with a goodly sprinkling of plot and philosophy. The author keeps talking about the greater good for the greater number, and it's inevitable flaws but also keeps repeating that there is no correct answer. Refusing to be sacrificed for the greater good turned out well for the heroes, and sacrificing in the past had a pretty deleterious effect previously, but also, as one of the antagonists... more>> says, 'we are all survivors of an extremely bloody war, and the decisions we have made, even the ones that backfired, STILL ended up creating the much much nicer world that you currently enjoy.' On the other hand, they truly were awful, awful, insane decisions that should never have been made, so...

But in the end, there is no one correct decision, no one to arbitrate good or bad. You can only act according to your own conscience and your own bottom line, and people will inevitably disagree on what that should be.

As far as the plot is concerned, it was extremely cliche, but that's not necessarily a bad thing if done well, and the story is fresh and engaging enough that you don't mind it. <<less

Great read, not that long and super funny! Like many have said before, even though there's nothing really innovative, the MC and the ML are great together, and the story has enough depth to their respective backstories to make you feel for them.

The translator, who was doing a wonderful job, unfortunately dropped it, but you can find the rest on MTL quite easily. All in all, the MTL is readable enough, so you can read till the end.
