The Villainess Is Always Pretending to Be the V*rgin Mary

Description

The virg*n Mary system dug out a delicate girl, Chi Ying, from the game world as its host.

Looking at her pure face, it secretly affirmed in its heart that this pure appearance simply best suited the virg*n Mary character!

After binding, it discovered that the delicate flower was in fact the villainess boss of the game!

The system was faintly worried: Yes, it should be fine, right?

The system saw Chi Ying standing in a pool of blood, with the light of the virg*n Mary above her head, holding a zombie’s head and weeping.

She burst into tears, “God, they are so pitiful.”

Everyone: Is this person sick?

Seeing the ever-increasing virg*n Mary value, the system covered its eyes.

Don’t think I didn’t see it! Weren’t that bunch of zombie heads all cut off by her?!

Gu Chi picked out a woman from the pile of zombies, with tears in her eyes and blood all over her body.

He reasonably suspected that she was a dangerous person who had been infected, so he tied her up, and put the gun against her eyebrows, waiting for her to mutate at any time.

The woman he pointed the gun at suddenly turned her head, which seemed to be a sign of mutation. Gu Chi looked resolute, and was about to shoot when he saw her looking at him lovingly, she said, “You are so ruthless, you must have been hurt in the past… It’s okay, I don’t blame you.”

Gu Chi shook his hand.

“…”

Thank you for the invitation, but he didn’t get hurt before.

Added Synopsis: The female lead, who used to be the last boss, gets bounded to a holy mother system and is sent to a zombie apocalypse world.

Rated based on my level of enjoyment despite reading most of it on mtl. Short, sweet, and there are a lot of funny moments. I find the chemistry between the leads so cute and fluffy! The last three chapters iirc was the cutest though, it had me grinning like a fool at 2 a.m.

I personally would love the main characters to always be safe and well so this story fits just right. I won't put it under a spoiler tag since it is already implied that MC is strong, extremely... more>> strong so there's never a fear of the story going dark all of a sudden (yes this has happened to me quite a few times already lol) .

If you just want a light story to destress give this a try. Don't take this seriously. Turn off your brain, you don't need that here. There's the tag "lack of common sense". If you want a story that has depth and nutritional value, this ain't it darling, go look somewhere else. <<less

I thought it was going to be similar to "A Fake Holy Mother In A Zombie Apocalypse "... but no.

My issues with the story:

1. MC is supposed to be a villainess, not someone transmigrated into a villainess, so I thought she would be cold or two-faced but no, she's just like any other shoujo FL. Same issue with the ML, that's suppose to be the villain but is actually noble and cooler than the orgML. The orgML is sadly like all other other novel, a scum. At least the orgFL... more>> is adorable

2. After meeting the main group, one of the guy immediately stated her as a lucky charm mascot and associated all good things to her. Even though it is related to her, I doubt most people would associated it with her right away. Maybe because it's a short novel, but feels like many things are rushed. Could have been executed better <<less

My reviews tend to be long winded but anyway here it is.

This book had tremendous potential. The concept was just *muah*, chef’s kiss.

The final boss villainess is forced to pretend to be a self sacrificing innocent girl in order to survive and or safe the novel she’s transmigrated into.

But this is one of those books that doesn’t really follow its own concept. After the chapter 50-60-ish the novel no longer mentions being a virg*n Mary character at all. The points seemingly just appear from out of thin air.

Spoiler

The reasoning for this is actually that Chi Ying (This novel’s Main Character), has been secretly spreading supplies aka. Food to all the other camps which have her name printed on the inside of each food wrapper making all the receivers ever so grateful for her help.

It’s fine, but this is the main act she does to earn all of the points that she uses throughout the novel (seriously she goes from earning 1 point per act per person who sees her acting to receiving several 100.000 points in just a few days, from an act that took at most 1 chapter to do the first time she does it and is only mentioned in passing for the rest of the 30+ chapters of the book it’s mentioned 2 times in total, at most 3-5 sentences.

And that how she earns all her points that she uses to buy the Anti-Zombie Virus...

[collapse]

It’s one of those books that follows an idea loosely in the first few chapters and again at the end of the book. There’s a joke referring to some examples of her ‘acting as a virg*n marry’, it wasn’t even funny due to how badly she’d performed her ‘virg*n marry act’.

Spoiler

In the extra’s the ML gives her a cross as an anniversary present.

Why?

Because back in the first 10 or so chapters her way of acting as a ‘virg*n marry’ was by carving crosses out of wood and placing them on top of the dead zombies.

While not a bad idea it’s was such a small part of the novel that it felt very underwhelming.

[collapse]

That being said if you ignore the main concept being scrapped it’s a decent novel.

The plot it heavily focuses on Chi Ying helping a group of powered plow through zombie hordes and occasionally capture bad guys.

Spoiler

The group finds her in the first chapter, ‘rescuing her’ from a few zombies. She hides her powers from them and then follows them for tens of chapters as baggage, basically.

She does help them find out that a later addition to their group is secretly a higher than average zombie with intelligence barely managing to pass for a human by claiming he’s caught a bad cold.

Both her and the ML then follows the zombie to a dark corner where he attempts to kill ML (ML knows but pretends he doesn’t ready to kill him at the first sign of him attacking, because... plot reasons. Chi Ying seeing this attempt to protect him and gets scratched but she’s immune so never mind that. ML thinking she’s going to turn feels bad and spends a few days with her seemingly wanting to accompany her ‘till the end’, but she doesn’t die, and instead claims that the scratch manifested a power instead of turning her into a zombie.

(Something initially presented as a 1 in a 1000 chance and later in the story as a one in a million chance.)

Then she asks to join the team but ML refuse saying she’s got to many secrets, so she spills about all of her powers (while not explaining the how she got them part, or about the system), so she’s accepted into the group but the others can’t know about her powers. Except for the one support power she’s already shared they spent a good 10-15 chapters hiding all her offensive powers until they don’t, and for no reason they just tell the others.

then they plow through zombie hordes until the end of the novel. She’s actually so powerful that the rest of the group become obsolete and are reduced to pick up zombie cores.

At the ending she no longer in the group but has been transferred into a solo team and becomes the government’s extermination tool.

The End.

[collapse]

It’s a bit half-assed but whatever, I’m already giving it 3 stars so I’ll get over it.

For characters I’ll give it 3/5 not the worst I’ve read, the characters are totally flat and any character development is actually the result of character collapse. But they weren’t total tools and the main character wasn’t a horrible person written to be in the right like some novels so whatever.

plot 3/5, average.

concept was just badly performed so 0/5.

world building, could have been better I’m stuck between giving it the 2/5 it actually deserves and a 4/5 for how much it filled in the novel. But it’s really a 2/5.

Romance, meh. No comment.

So 3 stars.

My final thoughts:

Actually it’s a good try at a book. I won’t read it again. I hope someone else will try something with a similar content and do it justice.

It took me less than a day to finish it. I wish I hadn’t bothered. But it’s not to bad, just really bland.

I recommend people to ignore the initial concept, the book doesn’t have much else to offer but at least it can fill out some time if you are in between books. <<less

Nooooooooooooo, this is not how I wanted it to be 😭😭😭😭

Okay I love the FL she is a villain but a good one, she is cute. But I don't like the ML 😭😭

First of all, it doesn't make sense for the FL to just stick to the ML for no apparent reason, I mean she has a very positive impression of him, when he has absolutely done nothing special for her. If anything the other members were more good to hear. The author just literally forced them to be together,... more>> which I absolutely hate. And I aslo felt that the ML fell for the FL just because of her face, he is such a useless burden. I'm soooo pissedddd.😩😩

The FL is OP, like seriously powerful. I felt that being with the ML and his group was actually a baggage for our FL, she is sooo good. The zombie concept was just like any other novel nothing special or new.

It would have been better if there was no romance at all. Ruined the whole taste.

I am sure there are others who might like this, but I hate thisss. I love the FL, but I hate the novel, mainly because of the ML. Not my type of novel 😩😩😭 <<less

Nothing to really complain about other than that, if you are reading for romance, the romance is really in the background. Like others said, the concept of pretending to be a "virg*n Mary" fades. IMO it's not an issue, just the structure of this novel as it progresses—and actually pretty consistent with the ongoing development of the characters and their relationships. MC is capable within the adventure tale. ML is deeply good to the extent of being bland, but with enough humor to fill the gaps.

Cute and short and complete.

BTW,... more>> repeat after me. Having "a setting" is not the same as having "world-building." A setting is a basic, world-building is advanced. You probably mean "the setting" not "the world-building." <<less

I really love this story.

There wasn't a lot of romance. The romance part was only 5%, at the end of the story.

The MC was very funny, I love her. She was quite OP too.

ML was very nice. Way better than the OG ML.

Novel not recommended to read.

MC is the final boss OP girl who binds a silly useless “virg*n Mary” system. MC basically sticks to the ML who is supposedly a villain because he becomes zombified, (She easily prevents this) as she runs into him first. Author says MC is pretty so ML quickly falls for her.

Author very clearly has no idea what to do most of the novel, even openly admitting as such in their comments.

Novel boils down to a mediocre and weak slice of life story about MC killing... more>> zombies easily, a fodder Song loser girl mad that ML likes MC, and the original heroine artifact spirit worshipping MC. There’s no real interesting plot hook as the system is extremely in the background, the MC faces literally no danger, and the rest of the story is mostly just useless fodder hogging story time. There’s very very little romantic development and the rest of the story is completely empty.

It had everything I like :

  • Powerful female character
  • Green flag Ml
  • Funny situations
Even if I enjoy reading it in a day, I had to say that the end was really rushed. I understand that the romance was not the core of the story but you can't give us such a bland ending. It's the only part that bothers me and that aside it's a really enjoyable novel

This is a short novel with a simple plot that doesn't overcomplicate things. FL is strong and confident, while the OG FL is cute and endearing. Although I was initially skeptical due to the description, but I’m glad I gave it a chance. It was a great way to pass the time. However, if you're seeking romance, you won't find much here.

Every chapter is short not long so can finish in a day. Do not have complicated story. Just light zombies story, really simple story. Have a system but not annoying system. But for someone who want to read horror, adventure, complicated stories, this maybe not for you. Though this novel has zombies, for me it is not too horror, just has a little adventure and do not has complex stories (revenge/zombie king etc). But I still like this novel.

MC is so OP. ML is strong too. Annoying characters only 1-2... more>> person. The system is helper to MC, crazy for points (i think it is cute)

Overall, this novel is for light reading and can read for free time. Good, not too amazing but not bad. <<less

It's meh. Started great but ended sloppy tho better than most books in these types so I can't really complain.

Spoiler

It's fun, it has op fMC, it has actions, even villains are funny but it has a feeling that it has been axed so they rushed the ending.

It's a bit pacing issue I guess sometimes it feels boring and long for places it should be but short for places it shouldn't be.

The romance between ML and fMC is none existent but it has a HE.

Started out good enough but the closer it got to what seems to be the climax, the more brain dead it became--I suppose it is true to the genre afterall, zombies and all.

Spoiler

Early chapters already showed hints of the true color of that Shi team member of theirs, an obvious example was of her getting held hostage my a Zombie Leader after secretly breaking away from the group. And yet in a blatantly dangerous and important mission where they already lost a lot of their Alliance's forces, with little to no information and unclear grasps of the area, they let said problematic healer wander around by herself still. On top of that, after she went missing, they split up individually, and of course the other female member gets caught by the enemy. Absolutely brain dead. The ML, supposed to be smart, careful, and caring totally Just didn't really think much if at all and risked everyone. Even with the of MLs betrayal and zombies rapid evolution, it suddenly was like the new MLs team's brain got stolen, they become worse than brain dead zombies, at least those have more survival instincts it seems.

[collapse]

Not sure if the actual climax and end will be able to salvage this but the build up is absolutely idiotic. Silver lining is that it only has a few chapters more else don't think it'd be worth it to continue reading.

Spoiler

A few chapters in, of It's revealed that Song Hi was let loose by her team mate cause though not pure they considered her as a friend still. Right, a friend that had recently almost screwed up a mission then screwed up the next big one. Such a good friend. Honestly made me wish for them to become zombies too since they are brain dead already pretty much.

Same with the new ML, saying most reliable and such, when he totally failed in properly disciplining his troublesome team members and pretty much just ran around blindly into danger in the big mission. Don't feel sorry for them anymore, they deserve more punishment even since it seems they haven't learned nor even realized their mistakes.

[collapse]

Just finished and the build up to the climax, the actual climax, then the end... All in all, infuriating and lackluster.

The only fairly good parts were the earlier chapters, later chapters seems rushed and even more bland. <<less

Short and fluffy.

I loved the FL's OPness. The ML taking steps back and relying on MC to save the day was refreshing in such apocalyptic world.

Quite funny look at how an ultimate game Boss does in a real human apocalypse. Instead of the “dear gamers” she played with in the past (I’m sure they didn’t call her “dear Boss”), she has to deal with romance, revenge and radishes. Lots and lots of giant radishes. It takes a while for her to adapt to human life so don’t judge the FL as too much of a baby in the beginning.

Novel is short and concise. Though the title seems inaccurate, instead of pretending to be a virg*n mary, she really does act like one. There were times when she tried to act like a virg*n mary but it ended up looking like she's ret*rded, but whenever she genuinely did something kind, she didn't even realize it herself that she behaved like a virg*n mary.

MC never really fell into trouble, everything is easily solved by her since she's very OP, so the story may ended up feeling bland for some readers.

I... more>> feel like this novel have the potential to be a quick transmigration novel, there wouldn't be a problem at all if the author decided to continue after the end with another world.

The romance was short near the end, it's sweet but I'm not really into romance. There were small plot holes which I've forgotten while reading hence why I gave it 4 stars. It wasn't a perfectly written novel, but it was entertaining enough to read.

The ML is pretty good, not the typical overbearing president type, and he's weaker than the MC but wasn't ashamed of it. <<less

Average. I was hoping for more virg*n Mary acts but it just disappeared after she spread the whole supplies thing and then there was no more acting. This, the only entertaining thing about this novel disappeared, making it really bland and a bit of a chore to read which is why I stopped reading by chapter 59.

The romance is mehhh, I expected more from a 'villain ML' but he wasn't a villain at all LOL so I also wasn't surprised. This could've gone without romance tbh cuz it just felt... more>> redundant. <<less
