I was supposed to sleep, I just looked for something to read, thinking I'll try one chapter or two and read the rest the next day if it's good. The result? Binge-read and it's 6am. Luckily it's Sunday I can sleep now~

I like the MC. She reminds me of the MC of "I'll live my second life": strong, independent, a bit dumb emotionally and funny.

The plot is intriguing, the ML is as cute as the MC. Do give this story a try, see if it fits your tastes.

I discovered it after 50 chapters of "This Girl is a Little Wild" manga which end up somewhere chapther 5

it. Is really good to find a translation of the novel, even more as the manga seems dropped, so thanks a lot for the translation !!

this story is at the same time fun, fast paced, and with a bit of a scenario and a plot thick enough to be entertaining

the MC is a strong woman, but in all good ways, and the ML is s*upidity cute and kind yet strong and... more>> reliable, no psycho, but a cute dynamic between the characters who are both love idiots that can't recognize their feelings - they are soo perfect, so there's plenty of fluffy and cute to enjoy <<less

Hey this is the first time I'm doing a review so please be nice.

So, this is quite new on the site and there are only few chapters so there is little I can send in regards to the translation or even the pace. But there is already a visual novel (I thing is not a manhua/manwhua (?)) adaptation and is amazing and as I'm up to date with what is translated, which is quite ahead, I can say that the plot is amazing and as I don't know what can... more>> be considered a spoiler I will give the description to be read at your own risk

So we have our FL who at the start we see battling once and for all the demon Lord with the intention of getting rid of him and in his weakened state he curses "him" (he thinks she was a he) to be reborn (when truly her soul was just transported to another female body) as a 'weak' and poor ab*sed lady. As it turns out everybody had thought back then that she was a man because of her gentleman attitude and fighting skill.

She finds out she (her body) is going to be given a high honor funeral and she decides to try to contact someone to tell them about her situation but she doesn't know who to trust as the lady she is now impersonating is being ab*sed by her stepmother and stepsister while the father doesn't do anything. So she takes matters into her own hands and that's how she meets our ML.

He is a special soldier who looks cold at beginning but is actually a love starved child who is just emotionally stunted and just so precious, and so, w his help and the rest of his squad she goes on fighting conspiracies, and trying to uncover the mysteries about her death and the connection with her new body, stepmother and any enemy that get on her way

FL and ML are both the highly skilled dumb type and that makes for some hilarious interactions and I personally enjoy their fluffy moments.

This story even have a manga adaptation now and is well know and it's much farther away. It's definitely at least a four star novel and I highly recommend the read if only just for the ML (he is so cute) and MC (she is such a lovable dumbass) <<less

It's Shoujo, but as a man, I can enjoy this as well. They do a good job at making a FL that while not s*upid, is oblivious to most parts of normal upper class society and interacting with people in general. The FL has a sheltered world view but is also highly competent at taking care of herself. All of this sets up the comedy and the plot quite nicely without having the characters act like actual idiots.

The author also does an excellent job at presenting things from the FL... more>> lead's skewed point of view. An unreliable narrator is used very well to show the growth of FL that she isn't even aware of.

Highly recommend for anyone looking for some light sugary romance in a fantasy setting, and is generally a great novel with great characters. <<less

This might be my favorite novel of the hundred or so that I've read on this site. I love the main characters, it's so refreshing that they're so utterly unaware/uncaring of stiff social traditions, norms, and expectations. It's not the annoying faux innocent naivety that female characters have in a lot of these stories, but just that they don't seem to really give a hoot at all about what other people expect them to behave like. They're a bit like big strong working dogs who, at the end of the... more>> day after work is done, turn into cute puppies who want to cuddle and play.

I especially love the female lead, who is funny and an awesome balance of masculine and feminine. She's strong, courageous, and noble, but is still kind, empathetic, curious, and affectionate. <<less

One of my favorites kr novel ><) I've read the manhwa first and came to this

the relationships, the dynamic of FMC and ML are goals and so cute, the plot, the twists and its decent pace are chief kiss. If you're looking for a lighthearted novel, it's this one! ^^)

A great novel, decent plot and comedy, a light romance and it feels extremely fresh the combination of an ultra rare Alpha Female lead with an even rarer Beta Male lead.

So much complicated plot twist hahahaha but both FL and ML are my type of heroine. They are both honest and idiotically cute. I read the manhwa first because its ahead of novel. I give it a 5 stars, its not my most favorite story but I like the MC and I enjoyed reading it. (*˘︶˘*).｡.:*♡

This is the first novel written by a Japanese author that actually succeeds in portraying a main character who is a bit clueless and lacking in common sense. I've read 100s of novels and quite a lot of them wanted to have a main character with this personality but they all failed in their objective. They either make the MC look like an idiot who has no ability to do basic deductive reasoning and act on the reasoning or they create a character that looks like an adult but has... more>> the personality of a five year old and the knowledge of a three year old. But in this story not only the MC but also the male lead are both easy going, easily satisfied and don't want to think too hard about some situations without making them look so dumb that you start to think that if these people existed in the real world they would be locked up in a psychological institute because their s*upidity makes them a danger for themselves. The rest of the story is interesting too but not as remarkable as the surprisingly well written main characters. This story is worth reading and I recommend this especially to people who want to regain the confidence that Japanese authors can write compelling and believable characters in a fantasy setting

Edit: I just found out it is an Korean novel, and even though generally the Korean authors are more skilled in writing believable characters (which I believe has more to do with how the websites that provide the novels operate and what are popular writing styles for each country than it has to do with where the authors are born) they don't often write about clueless characters so I would still say it is quite an accomplishment that the character was written so well <<less

It was a pretty good and interesting read at the start, but it starts to fall off. The content is very repetitive, and the plot is very drawn out. There is also a lack of character depth other than hard settings for each such as simple minded mc/bf, bad stepmom, caring maid, etc. The comedy using the MC and her past experience was funny, but again, the novel keeps milking the same things over and over. There are also a few glaring plotholes such as how did no one know... more>> the MC was a girl in the whole freaking church. The royals should at least be privy to the info too but they aren't. Yet the stalkers of girls who loved the MC got told he was a girl and no rumors ever spread?

I honestly would've rated this a 4, but it was likely to drop more so gave a 3 due to feeling 3.5 when I have up <<less

I liked this novel a lot. MC, Roel, and ML, Jullius Rizar, are a super cute couple. They both lack common sense due to their upbringing so the way they go about their relationship is quite unique. MC is super dense and doesn't care about social etiquette... basically what feels good should be good, right? 😂

ML is a sweetheart. Although he looks scary, his heart is pure and can easily be duped. Together, MC and ML (with the help of their strong support group) manage to find their happy ending.

This is a real spoiler in regards to MC's death...

MC being stuck alone with the demon king (Avros) at the beginning of the novel was part of a trap. Another demon king (Nihyenia) had commissioned Avros to catch MC. Nihyenia's goal was to rescue the Old Demon King (the real big boss). ODK was sealed away by the Goddess thousands of years ago.

The original plan was to catch MC alive and have the ODK's soul enter her body. Then have MC's body conceive a child so the child would have ODK's power but not the Goddess' seal. Once the child was powerful enough, they could lift the seal on the ODK. However, Avros messed up their plan.

The other spoiler is that the crown prince was in on the plan.

I don't want to be that person, but I beg to differ from other reviews.

Characters

MC's strongest point is that she's dumb. She has achieved nothing in her current life. In her previous life, she used to be super handsome, super strong, super dumb and super loved. But now? She's super dumb. She is just above average when it comes to beauty. For strength, she's just so-so. She's not smart. Throughout the book, she goes, "Hmph! I used to do so and so." Basically, reveling on past glory.

For ML, he's... more>> supposed to be cute and he's cute—kinda. At least, he's strong, rich, and misunderstood, compared to MC who's living in past glory. But he's a person with no thoughts of his own. He also doesn't act on his instincts like MC. He doesn't think, doesn't act, doesn't express, just follows whatever others say.

And apart from the High Priest and a few others, everyone is annoying as f*ck, telling MC and ML to do this and that. Just reading them makes your blood boil.

Nothing Goes MC and ML's Way

I personally found the novel extremely difficult to read. The starting was great, but the more you read, the more the MC falls in a situation where she's just going through the motions because of other characters. Apart from her asking the ML out in the heat of the moment, everything else she does is driven by other characters' will. In her past life, despite being a holy knight, she was much more free than now. I understand that she's now a noble lady so her freedom is limited, but the thing is, reading her actions feels suffocating. She always has to do things against her wishes.

She doesn't want to learn dancing but she is forced to give up sleep to learn how to dance. Even then her first dance doesn't happen with the ML but another guy I personally find annoying. The dance also happens because she's literally forced by someone else.

She never has a say about her dresses and other stuff since Day 1. She can't even eat her favorite foods usually. Someone is always there to nag her about food. She goes to parties but she's forced to not eat anything. Even if she eats, it's regulated by her butler. She can't even interact with other people the way she likes. Even if she is extremely sleepy, someone will force her to take bath before sleep. She doesn't like makeup, she literally hates its smell, but she's compelled to wear it. She is forbidden to do this and that, every single chapter. At one point, it gets irritating and suffocating. She can't be like "I'm done with this lifestyle. I quit!" because there are people threatening her with ML and her maid's life to do things. Although it's subtle, it's true nonetheless. She just don't have the leverage over others. She and the ML are always the ones in the disadvantageous situation. Despite both being rich and strong, they simply don't have bargaining chips. Their subordinates, heck even maids, can make them do things they want and MC and ML are in no position to say no. How annoying is that?

After all, most of you guys are here to read about a strong female lead and cute male lead. But how can a character be strong if they can't even take the simplest decisions about life?

In fact, ML is also like that. When MC suggests they sleep together—yeah, just sleep—ML goes "No! Apparently we can't do that!" It's like this for everything. Every time MC suggests that they do something together, ML doesn't initially do that because someone had prohibited him from doing that. And then MC goes "Don't listen to others" and coaxes him and then he reluctantly goes along with her. At least at first their interactions were natural because people didn't forbid them from doing this or that, but the more you read, the more restrictions they get.

Fetish About Dumb Lover

Also, this book is a huge fetish book. There is a huge difference between writing a character who has low IQ and fetishizing a dumb character. We all know about how males fetishize dumb blond girl, right? Here, the book fetishizes dumb guy character.

Although MC is also kinda dumb, the main point is that she's the dominant one in the relationship where she can make ML do everything she wants. And the way their interactions are written points toward that. Especially when they are kissing or exploring each other intimately, the author writes those parts as soft p*rn.

Just read their first kiss scene. MC literally forces herself and ML doesn't even know that tongue kiss exists in this world. He's terrified but also likes it. And MC loves his expression. While you are simply reading a kiss scene, you totally feel like ML is being sexually violated. Or when MC asks ML if she can touch ML's chest. Because ML is so innocent and doesn't know a thing about foreplay or intimacy between lovers, he gets extremely uncomfortable, he wants to cover his body, but MC doesn't let him. Basically a fox predating little red riding hood. Although MC is written as a dumb girl as well, you don't feel like two dumb people exploring each other, but one taking advantage of the other. What's this, if not author's fetish?

Extreme Scenario of Love Idiots

MC and ML are love idiots, and that's basically the main theme of the story. It was cute at the start, but at one point even that gets frustrating because they are clearly in love, and people around them know they are love idiots, but they don't give the main leads any good pointers. The pointers are always off the mark and thus their romance takes a weird direction every time. Can't someone just point it out to them that they are in love for god's sake?

Also, please someone give them s*x education. They are over 20 for god's sake. Everyone knows that they know nothing about being intimate, and they can see that they want to be intimate, but prevent them from learning those stuff. If MC hadn't learned about kissing in her previous life, I doubt they'd even know about kissing. Basically they are that dumb. But when MC finally finds a p*rn book, her butler forbids her to ever read that, and prevents her from making ML read even romance books. Isn't if f*cking suffocating? After kissing, they want to so something further, but they don't know what. At least MC touches ML's chest and abdomen or bites his neck, but ML isn't even able to do that. He's 27! Can you f*cking believe that? Two fully grown humans who want to make love but can't because people around them don't want to give them s*x education and even prevent them from learning from books. F*ck, just reading it made me feel suffocated.

s*upid Logic to Forward the Setting

Also, there are some contrived logics used. For example, a prince becomes MC's butler. MC is just a heir to a countryside noble house. And the prince claims that he's doing so because this would improve ML's reputation. The prince and his sister start a rumor that he is in one-sided love with MC, so he became her butler, but despite him being a prince, MC still chose ML to get engaged, so there must be something special about ML. What kind of s*upid logic is that? Is everyone dumb like MC and ML to believe in such a ridiculous rumor? If they have the ability to spread rumors, at least spread rumors like MC has back problem so the doctor has advised her not to wear heels, or she has some allergies so she can't stand the smell of makeup. Because the girl hates them. At least this would improve her mobility and keep her nose from being assaulted by unwanted smell. But nope, despite knowing that she was a knight her whole life, they force her to become a proper noble lady.

Tell, Not Show

Another problem is that the story doesn't show, just tells. For example, ML is said to be scary, but it's just other people telling MC that everyone finds ML scary. But even when MC and ML went together to a banquet, there aren't people gossiping about him and getting scared and panicking. For it to be believable, there should be multiple scenes of him scaring people with just his looks, no? But there are more scenes of him being cute and people caring about him than people scared of him. So, how am I supposed to believe the setting of ML? They also say there are extremely bad rumors about ML going on, but what are they exactly? Apparently, people think that he's a child of the Emperor but that's by no means a bad rumor. And this is also something MC didn't find out as a rumor but others mentioning that such a rumor exists. Again, there's telling, no showing.

Also, apparently every girl loved MC when she was a knight and had a huge crush on her. But we only learn this from MC's mouth. In banquets, we don't hear other young girls talking about loving MC as a knight at all or glimpses of how girls acted around her. She says she received tons of love letters and that's it. Again, the novel tells, doesn't show.

Also, apparently MC's and ML's godfathers don't like each other and thus won't let MC and ML get married. This is also mentioned by others. We don't see them arguing with each other after meeting. At least that would have made us believe the setting of why MC and ML aren't married despite desperately wanting to. <<less

I will say this with all my heart, the first Imperial Princess is a bad b*tch and the love of my life. Aside from that, I read a good part of the novel and the entirety of the available mahwa adaptation, I loved every second of it and just on this translation it is very well done and easy to understand. Plus the cute interactions between the protagonist are so hilariously adorable. 10/10 would recommend.

Just before Roel and Julius's wedding seig confessed to roel and then gave her a hickey and made her display it to everyone at the wedding and it just made me want to drop so badly like julius gets the short end of the stick constantly that I get really pissed the wedding was even described as more like a divorce. It just ruined the moment for me especially that Roel didn't really do anything as she has shown to be quite fiery, she even went as far as falsely accused julius and wanting to cut his limbs off and confine him when she was shown a hallucination of him getting with someone else and yet doesn't want julius to do anything to seig it just pisses me off.

Overall it was quite good but the ending felt a little rushed and I felt like the author made some choices that left me with little motivation to continue which sounds bad but if what I have written doesn't put you off you should give it a try. <<less

Big Sis Herbo x BBG Himbo (b) romance (FL tops) where they'd give the crispest high five, and then makeout because of how proud they are of that high five.

FL's naturally affectionate and does not shy away from skinship. Very good for the unsocialized, but not antisocial ML, who has GOT to be touch-starved, and it works because neither understands or cares for propriety, completely in synch cuz they're cut from the same cloth. They share a single brain cell and are very courteous about it.

The relationship, communication, and dynamic is 10, 000/10 points. 10/5 stars.

Unfortunately, the non-romance part of the plot feels kinda flat; it just feels really unengaging. I dunno how to describe it, but it couldn't maintain my interest long enough to binge read even though it's relatively short (I kept veering away every few chapters), and it's the reason why I'm dropping it from my read list. 2/5 stars.

Averaging it out, I'd give it a 3.5, but since the romance is overburdened with being the only interesting aspect for me, I'm reluctantly rounding it down to a 3/5 for NU. Sorry : ( <<less

Light easy read, uncomplicated straight forward FL, and a ML who had received so little from life so as to not know how to act greedy even as late as the beginning of V4. They enjoy the simple things in life, puzzling through all the issues and difficulties of their times using their physical strength and being taken care of by subordinates who try and steer them away from what's most socially problematic. Interesting plot so far and plenty of humour. Promising so far.
