Lu Gu got a marriage on behalf of his brother and married the fierce hunter in Qingxi Village. No matter how wronged he was, under the coercion of beatings, he was still put on the sedan chair.

I... have no idea how I manage to read through a huge 230 chapters full of slice of life. But yeah, author really did make it balloon up to that with little to no conflict at all lol. If you are used to JP slice of life stories or CN farming/business life then it's not a bad past time since the couple almost has no conflict. Even their relationship is slow burn and very healthy. One heads up from me is if you are not a fan of gers who became somewhat replacement for females, then just skip this. One good thing about this is character growth. MC had a low self-esteem but gradually came out of it as ML continuously gave him freedom and trust.

What kept me reading are the side characters. It is normal to see a scum MIL but the MIL in this story is superb. The whole family is very good. And it's not bad to watch them struggle to get out of their previous poverty with everyone working hard and there's no one with a princess disease that will piss you off. There are scum relatives OFC but they are not relevant in the story and I like how the whole family tries to stay away from them in order to keep a toxic-free life. Also if you are a dog person they got a ton. And they appear a lot. <<less

If you plan on reading this, might as well go directly to an mtl site instead of the current translators posts. They are using mtl anyway in a website full of ads. Anyway, as for the book itself, I am just 3 chapters in but will definitely read more of it since its interesting. I kept expecting dramatic plots to happen, but it never really does! I really enjoyed this novel. I think it's realistic without the staunch dramatization most others tends to do. Realism doesn't have to rely on sadness/coping with pain to be good, it can also be understanding how a slower-paced life is like, it can be happiness, comfort. I think I also enjoyed how the enemies are there, but became more like an afterthought and doesn't take much space in the novel. There's no such 'face-slapping' -- everyone has different... more>> lives, and sometimes you are too busy with your own to care/bother with them. Some can only be sighed in passing.

I can see how some might say this novel is bland/boring, yeah I understand. But I think this novel is quite refreshing and is really cool in it's own way. Please enjoy 231 chapters of a realistic countryside life. I really really like this novel in how truthful it is and how idyllic it feels. The entirety of the novel feels like floating down a river in a canoe, watching sceneries pass-by and thinking about eating chestnuts or plums along the way.

What you get to enjoy once he moved into the shen house, don't feel like things are going to pop up on you - it won't. This novel is 99% happiness and pleasure, recounting of details that doesn't accumulate to any kind of 'f*ck-up' -- the only part near the end is the drama (spoiler: travelling is dangerous but its ok its resolved early!) there's no weird dogblooded plot, no weird character you have to be wary of that the novel doesn't tell you straight up. Everything is very 'coddling the audience in comfort' -- so just enjoy the ride. It may be a little more laid-back than the usual novels I've read, but I thoroughly enjoyed the break from everything. I feel thankful for this novel. <<less

This is actually a good story. It's different to other ancient countryside stories because the things they for a living is appropriate to the time line. I mean, no advance ideas from the future, no easy money, no OP activity, no instant riches, no hardcore conflict. It just takes you on the daily life of a family and how they want to live a good life. I like it, for me this is the definition of "slice of life".

The moment I saw the story summary, I immediately hopped on MTL. Sweet Little Fulang is slice-of-life as f*. It might also be a little slow burn at one side to fully develop the relationship between MC and ML. It was kind of rough and tough at the start, but isn't this life? No pain, no gain. This can also be considered as a comfort story, to be honest.

It tells the story of two people who are together because of circumstances and have no choice, but eventually love slowly grows.

The novel that I need when I'm busy with work, quiet story and a bit slow in the beginning. But it makes me feel satisfied with all the achievements that are still reasonable. There are many novel stories whose achievements are too fast so that they seem too far-fetched.

Due to my work it took me quite a long time to finish this novel for 3 months plus 1 week,... more>> but I enjoyed it.

Lu Gu, A good and honest character. His patience paid off. His mother died when he was young and his father remarried. His stepmother always beat him and no one defended him. He was forced into a marriage to replace his beautiful half-brother Lu Wen. It turned out that after getting married he got a peaceful and beautiful life, which he never imagined.

Shen Xuanqing was a hardworking man with many skills, he could hunt beasts, read and do business. Even though he lives in a small village he has a long-term perspective. He always takes decisions for the good of the family. The perfect man that only exists in novels, tall, handsome and loyal.

One thing that I applaud is that he is aware of his circumstances and intentions, is not lulled by the success that most people desire, when he gets an offer to a big city to become an elite palace guard he turns it down because he knows what he wants. Even though the royal guard is more successful in the public eye but he has the realization that that is not what he wants for his humble family in the countryside.

We must learn to understand what "success" means to us, don't be blinded by the success that is considered by others.

Lu Wen I think there are many characters like him in the real world. I don't 100% blame him.

He is tired of poverty and feels entitled to get wealth to raise the class of his life.

Met a rich man who turned out to be a playboy. Lu Wen is just a beautiful ger who wants to change fate.

Unfortunately all of this was done when he had an arranged marriage with Shen Xuanqing and even took the dowry of money without returning it.

Lu Wen got the ending he deserved. He is no longer a poor ger in the countryside, being the concubine of a rich man but his husband is always drunk and beating him. The child was raised by the in-laws and separated from him. As said in the end, there is no regret pill in this world

He's just a ger who wants to live a better life but, he did it the wrong way.

The problem in the novel that intrigued me appeared in chapter 79, when Li Wanyun was beaten by her drunken husband. I was so intrigued by his life story that I researched the ending before continuing to read.

I salute Li Wanyun and am happy that he is finally happy with Luo Biao.

After I finished reading I felt satisfied and happy.

All the good people get a happy ending, and the sneaky ones get their reward. <<less

I mtld the whole thing - not too shabby. Very slice of life and I loved the dynamics he had with all his family members. Im on the fence about whether I like that the antagonists didnt really bother him much or not - so if you’re looking for that kind of action where antagonists keep coming and starting beef and they get face slapped to the next universe, this probably isnt for you. It’s literally slice of life so you see his relationship with his man and family and... more>> friends progress and a lot of stuff to do with them just living life.

very, verryyyy slice of life. at the beginning, it felt like the author was determined to talk about plants and food (+sometimes animals). seriously, my eyes glazed over. nothing really happened. ML is a hunter so he earns money quickly. MC has been ab*sed all his life so he was a bit of a doormat (he got better because ML and his family treated him kindly even though he was practically shoved into their lives forcefully). it's so slice of life that characters sometimes just come and go. the one... more>> time something exciting happened, it passed so quickly since the story was told mostly from mc's pov and the one in mortal danger was ML lol smh. I mean, I get it, it seems abrupt if the genre kinda turns into survival from the original slice of life, but like, why mention it at all? it suddenly got very interesting and then... that's it. ML went into hiding and didn't talk much about it lol <<less

I feel so bad for Lu Gu... 🥺😭. I 100% would love to die if I was in his position. I can’t man, this is so f*cking sad.

I love the Shen Family, they’re so nice.

Shen Xuanxing is such a nice lad man, always caring about his husband. He’s only 18 and he’s so respectful and kind. He and Lu Gu make a great couple. Hehe. I like that he has feelings and thoughts and isn’t like those stereotypical cold MLs. He’s so... more>> cute, he felt empty till he cuddled MC in bed.

i can’t lie, I think the romance is a bit on the dead side, and the slice of life made it a bit boring for me. I’d rather they be more romantic or they you know. Maybe it’s cuz I ain’t even half way done. I will continue on hopefully later on! <<less

A Truly Nice Pure Slice of Life novel!

If you expect Faceslapping, Dog Blood, or Golden Finger, it may not be for you.

And some of you MIGHT find it boring without those.

... more>> But this novel was a Comforting novel.

Sure the beginning of the Novel was Dramatic because the Replaced bride things. But it was only for few chapters and the moments only happen in just 1 day, and the next day was where the Slice of Life begun.

ML family was truly feel Wronged at the beginning, but because MC defend ML when things keep getting worst, that's how ML decide to take MC.

And not even ONCE ML's family wrong MC. They truly Understanding, kind, and Genuine!

Heartwarming in this novel was because ML's Family just the Best family ever so far!

ML himself is Wonderful. Not Perfect, he keep learning new things and all, but pretty Doting and want to treat MC for the best!

MC was Truly Very Timid! It was slow step by step to get MC stop fearing ML. But I'm already in chapters where the important misunderstanding was being talked. So... No secret anymore between them? Though it's not like there was a secret in the first place. Just lack of Communication and Understanding. ¯\_ (ツ) _/¯ Understandable really. They're just normal human after all~

But it's truly Nice novel!

Just what I needed right now. A healing, slow life, slice of life series without unnecessary drama. Finally a series where them going somewhere doesn’t mean something has to happen, where they don’t always need to bump into some cannon fodder, they just go do what they planned to do, living their life. Mtl is quite easy to read.

This story is a gem for me. Very chill story. Slow romance and full of fluff. U c how the MC character develop from a very timid person who dont even dare to eat, speak, to even make noise, becoming happy, cheerful, speak his mind, n try to stand strong n fight for his baby when the ML not there.

Amazing world building. The details is wonderful. Give u some impression how the people probably live in rural village without technology in ancient time.

I have to say my favourite part probably... more>> when it just the 2 of them living on the mountain. So chill n peaceful n they have lots of time for each other.

5/5 stars for me!! Quite literally my first first farming/ger novel i've read and I feel like I was quite literally immersed into a new world! And I thought I should at least come back and leave a review.

the novel starts out with a literal bang! Us, the readers, are immediately thrown into the thick of a fictional ancient village, where a literal brawl over the swapping of brides (gers in this world) is happening between the Shen family and the Lu family. It was confusing at first, since all... more>> these characters, names, and places are immediately introduced to us in a world-wind. Initially I was going to drop it, but I was still a bit curious because tbh I LOVE reading drama and a good face-slapping! Our main character, Lu Gu jumps into the river, is retrieved and brought back as a bride to the Shen family in place of his half-brother.

Immediately after that, we enter tranquil waters, as slowly Lu Gu begins his life as the fulang of Shen Xuanqing. I extremely loved the development between these two characters, as well as the Shen family! Although ML is still a bit immature, he's sturdy, well-intentioned and just incredibly sweet towards our main character who has yet to come out of his shell. My life was literally sustained throughout this entire novel with main couple's sweetness and budding love! It's extremely refreshing! I also love that the mc/ML weren't some OP characters with special circumstances. Their successes were truly based on their own luck and hard work. And with their everyday life together, you can't help but swoon for these two!

And even though I'm a sucker for some drama, I also love a good slice-of-life, family bonding, farming story. There are some minor drama involving third party characters, but all the characters who've done bad have their own retribution from karma (though this is the only aspect of the story I wished we could've had more meat on lol). Nevertheless, I never thought to myself "this is so boring" while reading and for some reason, I was even wishing for more by the end! Although it's understandable if this slow paced type of novel isn't your cup of tea. I really recommend it, I'm just sad that I really liked it and it was the FIRST one i've read in this type of genre, so now my standards are so high that every other one I've read, I always compare it back to this one.

If you're a huge fan of Li Ziqi/dianxi xiaoge type of videos, animal crossing, harvest moon, stardew valley, these are the exact vibes it's giving! <<less

Really good slice of life story of a hunter and his little male-wife.

The husband is overpowered although he is not rich and the antagonists in the story are logical. There is really no conflict since everything is resolved by a good beating. Although the main characters seems overly blessed since there is no bad harvest or bad hunt.

It is a quiet novel about the countryside and a stable marriage, it is dramatic at the beginning but for the moment it was the only dramatic thing I found. It is a smooth and stable read, but it is not my style, I thought that after a while there would be drama or something interesting but no, Everything is smooth and stable, not to my liking.

I think it’s pretty good for what it is. It’s truly just a slice of life story about the lives of MC and ML. That’s it. So far there’s no overarching plot beyond this. And I think that’s fine. I’ll come back to read it occasionally when I’m in the mood for it.

It's a story of a s*ave owner falling in love with his s*ave. The s*ave (the MC) was horrendously ab*sed by his family but was treated very kindly by the peasant family he was sold to. So he heals physically and emotionally, hoping that his future days will be blissfully happy.

The s*ave owner treats the s*ave as his ger-wife but formally he is just his s*ave with a s*ave contract while the true contract of marriage is with the s*ave's ger-half-brother who failed to appear in the bridal sedan on the day of their marriage.

The core of the story is about two very innocent teenagers, the MC is 17 and the ML is 18, living together as a couple inside their larger family of kind peasants, discovering what s*x is and falling in love with each other which is a huge novelty for both. The ML will also seek revenge on the ger that betrayed him on the day of their marriage.

I did hoped onto it cause I wanted to read a ger farming story, the novels I was reading had stopped their translations. But this was a sweet and pleasant read. I did not read it continuously but I did not giving any day gap. The character growth of each character is on point. The reader don't usually stumble upon these kind families in the novel. This family was refreshment among all the other CN novels I have ever read.... more>>

MC- traumatic step mother experience, but sweet after marriage life

MIL- the I have come across gives equal chances and takes. She is such a sweet lady❤️

ML brother-He is sunshine boy, but loves his wife more

SIL (brother's wife) -we don't come across any fight between MC and her, she ever shared her breast milk to MCs child

SIL-she is such a hardworking child

And they more pets and animals

The best book I've ever found here. I love the naratif, in-depth understanding of how life works, the character development, the romance that is so sweet but still relatable. Author did a super work with this story. Trying to find more more stories like this but couldn't so far. I MTL'ed the rest that havent been translated but still enjoy it and re-read the story to comfort my heart at least 4 times already in a year. Thats how much I love the story.
