First thing, it was not his parent that killed her mother. Her mother killed herself because she couldn't stand her daughter saying that she was "Dirty" when she showed her what is happening to her in that house and why is she drinking alcohol all the time. In other words, she herself killed her mother and not his parents.

Second thing, HE WAS IN ANYWAY NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR HIS FATHER, FOR WHAT HE HAS DONE TO HER MOTHER WHATSOEVER, IT WASN'T HIM. And it wasn't just his father that r*ped her mother, there were many more accomplices.

"How do you separate him from his family's crime?" umm maybe because he wasn't even aware of the crime his father had committed?

it's a short novel so I suppose it couldn't be helped but after all that build up, I was really disappointed that FL decided to throw her resolve so quick and f*ck ML. Like come on, the man's parent killed your mother but you love him so much so you spread your legs while silently saying 'I'm sorry' to your dead mom in heaven? Yeah how beautiful. Despite ML being completely innocent in this, it still seems disgusting to me. How do you separate him from his family's crime? Nah the author tried to compensate FL's "fragileness" by making her slightly OP with her hacking skills but it still could't make up for how pathetic it was that she would fall in love with a huge narcissistic as*hole with classic alpha syndrome. There's no redeeming qualities about that guy (other than the fact that he loves her ofc -.-)

We're just at the beginning but this novel is already intense!!

I have to admit that at first I was attracted by the smutty summary, like the degenerate that I am, but I'm staying for the plot. Right off the bat, I thought this would be like that cliche plot where ML and FL got an arranged marriage and now they're gonna divorce and FL is happy but ML doesn't want divorce shenanigans but boy!! This one contains some heavy family drama, revenge, and political marriage.

Also, the translator did say that... more>> this would be shorter than the usual novel (17 chaps + epilogue) so I guess it makes sense that every chapter is a page-turner. I prefer this set-up since it removes unneeded fillers and just be pure, meaty plot.

Absolutely amazing read, we're just at the start but I'm giving it a solid 5/5 <<less

Warning: I have noticed that Lavender Blue tends to write some questionable-consent love scenes in their novels. If that bothers you, turn away! I wouldn't say all of it is questionable-consent, but... for some, even one is one too many, and that's totally understandable. There are also mentions of s*xual assault and ab*se, and it may be triggering for some. Please be aware!

Review: Lavender Blue has a unique ability to draw the readers in with her outlandish plots. As a reader, I entered this novel with a certain expectation in mind. However, within a few chapters, she effectively turned that over on its head and got me hook, line, and sinker. I will admit that some events are very overdramatic and seem somewhat unnecessary, but all in all, I did enjoy the ride. The best way to sum up this novel is 'Makjang'. It's crazy, over-the-top, and super melodramatic, but one can't help but become absorbed in the story (à la Autumn in My Heart). <<less

Accidentally put in 4 stars, meant to put in 5.

If feelthat this novel is a little different from the other contract marriages. Basing off just reading the prologue, we get a glimpse of the ML feeling uneasy and the FL exciting to get out of the marriage. I like a FL that isn't ambitious and wants to get away from a ml. I hope to see more!

I actually don't understand why the rating is so high... Clearly this novel is not for everyone.

From the start it gave me weird vibes and it was actually a bit confusing, the FL is selfish and inconsiderate, the way she took it out on him didn't make any sense, and at one point I even thought that she didn't deserve the ML. No matter how well it's written I found it really boring and I had to drop it, I don't even know how I read that much.

Characters:FL was weird she seemed like one of those hentai protagonist that say something and do something... ML was typical Wattpad bad boy.

Writing/translation: This was originally written in Korean so I guess some of it was lost in translation but honestly don't see how such a reused plot could have been saved by a better translation.

The only good thing was the 1st and 2nd s*x scene. <<less

Such a disappointing FL. Min Yuan had the potential to be a great character but in the end just fell short of expectations. I mean she's a teacher/illustrator by day and a hacker/computer programmer by night. That's set up is essentially foolproof.

But frankly after the way she easily submitted to JoonHun after he r*ped her she became yet another typical damsel-in-distress with Stockholm Syndrome character.

The ending practically wrote itself from then on. In short, FL has bad history with ML's family. FL falls in love with ML. FL hesitates with her plan. FL reveals all with ML. ML fixes everything for FL and they all live happily ever after.

Her inner monologues admonishing herself for sleeping with him was so irritating. Girl, it takes two. The whole "playing-hard-get" made her come off more desperate than "strong". She really thought she had a handle on her schemes but she was a terrible liar so it's really a wonder how she had not been caught earlier. Literally at the tail end of her plan and she couldn't seem to keep her little ruse together enough to close it out. For a world-renowned hacker who was supposedly a genius, Min Yuan's planning and execution of her little revenge plan was poorly unsatisfying.

I'm not trying to discourage anyone else in reading this because given the amount of good reviews it's gotten, people seem to really like it. It's just my personal preference when I say that I strongly dislike characters who lack conviction. The rest of the story just comes off unauthentic and forced. All-in-all, the story had a compelling beginning because of the mystery surrounding the circumstances of the contract marriage, but as the story progressed the characters regressed and the motivations became more predictable and stale. As I've mentioned before, after a certain turning point (anniversary dinner) the rest of the story and the fate of the characters basically wrote itself. I'm only glad that it did not take 80-plus chapters to get to such an obvious ending.

Awesome novel like Korean drama with the intense passion, emotions and plots. MC is a woman who has been living in a mask of perfect wife while ML is the perfect husband without love emotion. Wonder will they ended together?? Thanks. Cannot wait to go through the end of roller coaster rides.

I loved this book! The plot was a bit predictable, but the writing was excellent, and the translation was really well done, making it an enjoyable read. Don't go into this expecting a mind-blowing storyline—read it for the smut because it is HOT. Seriously, I can't say this enough: Korean authors write the filthiest smut, and this one did not disappoint.

I have a soft spot for obsessive male leads who are absolute beasts in bed, and this book delivered exactly what I wanted. So, it’s getting a high rating from... more>> me.

Also, I’m just thrilled that this was picked up by this translator. Good Korean novel translations are rare on NU, and I’ve been dropping books left and right because 70% of them are just straight-up MTL. Honestly, you’d have better luck reading danmeis for higher-quality translations. So I'm always happy to come across gems like this one.

If you're looking for a well-written, steamy read with an intense male lead, this is it. <<less

Maaaaan this was so good. The plot was a bit predictable and I kinda saw through some future points with the author's foreshadowing but that wasn't unpleasant at all! Rather it makes me more satisfied! And its so wonderfully written and translated, the story just flow so well.

The protagonists are very likable. I think the author really justified their characters.

I'm also thankful that the author put trigger warnings (is that what you call it? Lols) at the beginning of some of the chapters.

And yes, if you're planning to read this,... more>> please be aware that there are some disturbing things in this story. <<less

i took a double take reading this because, honestly, this story is just so bad. this is exactly the kind of tr*sh you'd find somewhere on wattpad, except had this been written by a wattpad writer, it at least would've been somewhat entertaining instead of boring and dreadful.

this is absolutely nothing like the summary and tbh is just a load of bs 😮‍💨 I was expecting my unhealthily possessive ml, but was given the typical cold ceo trope that has seemed to transcend language barriers as it is beloved in... more>> chinese, english, and korean novels alike.

Okay. First of all. The translation quality? MAmMa Mia!

I binge-read it in one sitting! Yes, the basic plotline was nothing new and fresh (contract marriage) but the story the author built on it was quite amusing. The characters had well-written backgrounds, and their backstories were emotional, suspenseful and intriguing, which further justified their actions and emotions. The best part? The characters' dialogues/behaviors weren't stiff. The plot-flow was great-- Even though the novel was short, it was satisfying because the author never rushed anything. And Oh My God the smut. The... more>> smut scenes were actually sensual smut scenes usually make me laugh when they make no sense and not terribly written; for example, in some books you're actually confused about the flow of their actions like "wait-- wasn't she doing this?? When did he do that to her??" And the characters (specifically, the women) are no shallow goody two-shoes. They know when to stand up for themselves. And their retorts actually hit the spot. They convey exactly what I, as a reader, felt and would've screamed at the people in the scene if I were to be in the character's stead. And that feeling is so, so satisfying. I would give it 4.5, honestly, (but I don't know how to yet), the -0.5 being for the (probably spoiler)

author making it seem like the MC and FMC only fell in love because of each others' appearances and bed skills and not for what they actually are. And in one point in the story, she told him her entire sob story, she explained why she did what she did, and all he cared was about whether or not she loves another man?!

Even though, like I said, the plot flow was great, the author never really bothered to detail how their relationship slowly developed over time. Why do they make it sound like 2 years is not a long amount of time?
How is it that their interactions were so minute within those 2 years? I would've been happy with even small happenings time to time from those two years. And as a last minute attempt, as if the author forgot to add it in initially, they throw in an incident about what happened from their first year of marriage, like? It's an important plot point, you should've written it in the story much earlier??

This novel is a must read. Even the chapter are short, but every chapter is so engaging and all the action (smutty and plot) are really gripping. I enjoyed myself immensely. The translation is top notch (thank you) so you read it seamlessly and can’t help indulge in the novel. I know it’s a bit cliche but the whole thing is like watching an exciting k drama. Lol. A very recommended read. Tq

Basically came for the smut part from the other recommended series but continued on for the drama. Honestly this series had a good start with mysteries surrounding FL. FL also came off as a strong character initially but given how her character was built and then the poor execution of her plans, she was made the typical damsel-in-distress. I had expected something different with such FL but honestly she came off selfish and pathetic. Given how smart she's made and how she was caught in the first execution of her... more>> plan by her husband. I even feel sorry for her brother.

even though she knew and experienced herself what her mother had gone through all her life, she just threw away all her resolve for the ML. Why? Just because she didn't want him to get hurt. Just cause he's giving her crazy s*x. Bruh, get your act together girl, all her planning and plotting went out the window the moment ML helped her and she has reveled her secret to him so easily. Although it's true that it's not totally her responsibility to carry her mother's revenge but how can you be happy and so selfish living as the daughter in law of a man who destroyed her mother's life. She acted as if she was the only one who was suffering from all this and her pain was greatest while her mother and her brother had gone through lot worse and didn't even get to have happy endings. I specially feel bad for her brother since he's done the job for their revenge and in the end the girl he loved left him. I was glad how her brother revealed her mother's cause of death to the world while FL had basically deleted the entire evidence just so her man won't get hurt and she gets to be with him. So pathetic, weak willed and selfish. It was not ML's fault that the misery fell on her mother but it doesn't mean his family was faultless and you can forgive them for what they've done on her family's behalf and they needed to pay the price for their actions which FL seemed to have forgotten.

The ML is a typical cold CEO turned devoted husband who eventually took care of everything on FL's behalf. I mean how pathetic can you be that you can't even avenge your father's and mother's misery by yourself and need your husband to do it. I would have been even glad if he had helped her in the process but no, he was the one that got the job done for her while she was roaming around the globe. What was the use of her being genius hacker and bull crap plot build just to make OP FL. I don't even have any problem with all the yandere and obsessive ML's, and I'm a sucker for them. The ML is not too obsessive but slightly imo. He's done a good part throughout although there's not much character development on his part but the cliché troupe.

Although the storytelling and author writing in itself is good along with the translation, it was not the kind of drama I had expected especially when I hate pathetic FL. All in all came for the smut, stayed for drama. <<less

I read this novel not really expecting much of a plot. With the way the summary sounded, although really vague, didn’t give away, at all, to the actual roller coaster it was going to be.

I was just shook—I didn’t expect anything at all, especially with the wife. I can’t say it’s also healthy how I want a guy like the ML? Lol so both of those things really hit the mark for me.

All in all, I loved the smut and how detailed it was and not just physically, but how... more>> it gnaws at the heat and the passion and I am literally being burnt by the protagonists’ flames. I loved it. I reread it.

Maybe this is also the magic for light novels—the plot doesn’t drag on too long it’s all nitty and gritty right off the bat. But the author orchestrated it well as an allegro symphony. I just hoped they had more fluff monents because I couldn’t get enough of them.

Let's just say I feel like I'm reading a screenplay of a drama instead of a translated webnovel. This novel shows perspectives from both ML and FL but in third person PoV.. so there are still mysteries but you won't be as confused or get too biased.

And the drama. Gawdd every chapter feels like a rollercoaster. My heart rate went up and down Every. Single. Chapter.. even though they come in parts lol. It's not too much but it's enough to keep you on your feet everytime.

The ML and FL... more>> are also very realistic and relatable. Sure the ML is the typical "powerful CEO" type but he's not brainless or unnecessarily ruthless. He is what you would expect of a successful CEO. A genius and trained entrepreneur coming from a rich family. What you expect if there's a male version of Kylie Jenner (... sorry I can't think of any other example -, -")

As for the FL, she's not the typical "cinderella/mary sue" type. So far.. on the surface, she's the perfect wife suited to marry someone like ML. Clear background. No scandal. High-class enough family. Elegant and sophisticated. Knows how to handle herself. But deep down, she's still a mystery. There are hints though... (͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Last but not least, whoever the author is she knows what she's doing and had definitely done some research on some things. And as for the translator.. they did A-MA-ZING job translating not only the author's words but also their intentions.

I agree with Iah. The plot is superb.

Be aware - it has smut and heavy psychological drama with a (somehow) happy end.

It was an emotional rollercoaster. At the beginning I thought it was really about business secrets being stolen. Later on, I felt what the brother planned - making it all known - was right. At the end I totally understood that such one sided thinking can destroy lives. Excitement, anger, sadness and regret followed by a sigh of relief.
