The main character is so perfect it makes the story boring. Compounded by the fact the MC has no personality, I re read the story to see if it got any better and it did not. When I mean the MC has no personality I am being literal, typical Japanese passive MC that a lot of people hate.

Here is a run down of the format for every chapter

1. Problem

... more>> 2. MC solves it

3. Everyone says MC is genius

4. MC says ” not a big deal, cya tomorrow”

Chapter end. Then repeat this 60-70 times for what has been translated so far.

It is not terrible, but it lacks any interesting qualities besides the slimes. 2/5 <<less

Not a bad novel at first sight, but seems like it’s going nowhere fast. Basically another slice of life with an OP MC, but it focuses very much on the MC, and not very much on other characters. There’s literally no aim, just to live his new life in a new world and getting to know his magic abilities, VERY VERY VERY SLOWLY. For the time being, I’d say read Death March over this (similar slice of life, reincarnated OP MC novel, but more interesting). Honestly it was fun for... more>> me for a good few dozen chapters but it’s gotten old, definitely not as good as the ratings here suggest. <<less

No real aim to the story, it doesn't need an op MC, it doesn't need "the chosen one" troupe, it doesn't need revenge, it just needs a clear goal which is severely lacking in this novel. The best way to describe this story is MC wanders, finds different things and does different things with no real end game to his actions. It's so aimless the author himself gave up on it after just adding troupe one after another in hopes of making some sort of sense of purpose and only... more>> ending up going all over the place. No matter how much people here can praise this novel as "new" and "different", all about that life changing bs with human growth from that hermit life to a social do w/e the fudge I feel like dude, the story can't be that good if the author personally lost the drive to push it any further with random misc items. It's readable, but sure as hell nowhere near good, enough to warrant a 50%+ votes of FIVE OUT OF FIVE STARS, this grade is over curved. <<less

I really wish people would stop overrating on this site, I had to force myself to get as a volume 3 thinking that it gets better, even if its a unique story to what other transportation to another world stories normally are does not make it a good story it just makes it unique, unique doesn't mean automatic 5 stars! The author explains almost everything in this book for about 3 volume like:
*your 11.... you don't know what this is?* (any character)
*oh it does that* (MC)
*YEP!, its strange your not aware of these things, what were you living in the woods for 3 years?* (any... more>> character)
*Yes I was, thanks for your concern*
*omg your so polite, you have manners that's really rare in this world for plot reasons*
*by the way even the gods don't know this but i'll be super surprised if you don't know this thing I invented*

At some points it just repeats over and over, how many times do you really need to remind everyone in one town your 11, the world will never know. This may be just me but this story reads like there could be a time skip at anytime but then there isn't. For some odd reason the MC decides to do.... nothing? This whole story, he came to another world trained for 3 years in a forest, learned magic, trained basically an army of slimes and opens up a store in a city to clean other people's clothes? Is this some weird Japanese fantasy to open up a laundromat store and work anywhere other than japan. Also why does he need to be OP seems like this could be a much faster paced story if he just stuck to the store instead of training for no reason, also he NEVER fights himself so how the hell is he leveling up those skills. If cooking, cleaning, and making baths are all you need to do to level up your magic why aren't there OP housewives.

A man who complains about being over worked, goes to a new world and becomes a business owner, and this is the guy that's the gods favorite to watch? Why would a god summon someone to become a merchant with magic, why not just power-up a normal merchant. Even as a slice of life story this is extremely bland, this story seems more about a man who wants to go back to work but is stuck in another world, so he overworks himself for no other reason than "that's what my boss who I hate likes about me". This is story is the worst parts of death march, extended cliche and super slow paced. I really hope this gets dropped so a better story can be picked up, this translator is good but I wish I could get my day of reading this back. <<less

Amazing story. Its a fantasy slice of life transportation to another world story. Kinda like death march but without the harem. It has a lot of manufacturing, creating new things that weren't in the fantasy world before (most if not all (am not sore) are things from our world), slime evolution and many other interesting things. It wasn't told in the story so far but I hope it will have romance in it (Elia for the win!)

I would recommend this novel for people who enjoy a nice read that... more>> isn't all about action but about the interesting live of our OP MC

PS: The translator is a badass pokemon that has super translation skills... <<less

Story doesn't go anywhere, it will always be the same, he will do ret*rded quests over and over and over and maybe only after 100 years we will see the first light bulb in that world. The story becomes to boring to read.

This novel got stale fast. I agree with the review below, volume 1 was good, then it fell apart. No direction with the MC, no overlying plot, little action. It is really clear the author had no idea where he wanted to go, which is why I really doubt the author will pick the story back up after he dropped it in volume 5. What a waste of potential.

This novel follows the main character who is overpowered due to receiving multiple powers and blessings from his dark past and gods's pity. However, it is being executed poorly, resulting in the story and the side characters becoming too underwhelmed.

I’ve come to really like this story. It’s very pleasant and just fun. I like the MC pragmatic approach to most issues and how he doesn’t go power crazy. It’s the mindset I wish more MC had. It is worth giving it a try.

Edit: I also like how he incorporates things from his past life.

Early on this was something that touched my heart in a way no other novel had before. We had a protagonist that needed to ingrate back into society and it's people after living through a treasonous life, but unfortunately the overused an popular elements like game elements, chosen one, cheat like character where unnecessary added making this to something of a decorated but untasty treat. So while I was touched on what this could of been, I can hardly give my recommendation beyond the first novel.

Honestly, this is my #1 novel so far. I love it. There's a perfect balance of comedy, slice of life, and action, although it leans more to slice of life and comedy than action. There's also a slight dark undertone, but it's just enough to make you wonder.

It's a solid slice of life.

MC is peculiar, but likeable.

Gods are hilarious.

... more>> MC's fabricated background is interesting.

I'd love to give this one five stars, but I can't.

First, the MC, altho' a fine guy, has those silly cracks in his character, typical to japanese writing. One of the examples would be his fervent drive to stay in the underdog position pretty much every single time. Despite being an adult mentally, he seems a typical japanese MC blockhead when it comes to socializing with girls. And those are not the only flaws of his.

But I'll give it 4. My only wish, toward this particular translation, would be to pick up on a pace. Because the release rate is extremely painful, up 'till this date I had actually forgotten about this novel few times. That's how rare new chapters are. <<less

Starts pretty interesting, but quickly gets very slice-of-life and, quite frankly, rather boring. That's a shame. There was potential for great stuff, there.

Also, it annoys me that the MC often complains about his lack of ability at talking to people, when this is not at all reflected in his actual behavior. His politeness and humbleness are also annoying.
Assert yourself, MC!

The good: Slime Inc. - Slime solutions for all your needs (laundry, cleaning, healing, materials refining and manufacturing etc.)
The generic: everything else.

This story would have stood out more if the author wrote it exclusively as a quirky story about the many ways to use slimes to make money, and cut out the rest of the story.

It had such intense potential! But sadly there was just too many ideas crammed into the story, the plot was barely there, and there literally was no real goal aside from MC promising to see Elia after 6 years.

The author should've taken the whole Slime company idea and made it it's own story. The same came be said about the whole 'earth god taking MCs happiness away' plot. It sounds super cool but it was only talked about like twice between the gods' in their side chapters. Then the whole... more>> 'OP MC who goes on crazy adventures' plot could it's own story! Each of these would've been really cool to read about but because they're all crammed in as one it's just messy, honestly and none of the major plots get any sense of completion because everything is rushed.

In the first volume there was a sense of progression with a goal in sight and it was really fun to read. Volume two it completely halted and 20 chapters were literally just about building a f*cking laundromat. Volume three there was finally some progression but it was minimal at best. Volume 4 finally picking up the pace and is interesting, so that's good, I guess.

It seems like the author had no idea what to write after the first volume so he was just winging it. It's frustrating because there was so much potential, especially with the slice of life genre!

Rate: 4/5. Mostly cause the slime research and co. Are really interesting. <<less

The begining of the story shows promise. I was expecting a big adventure or some other grand plot. But tuns out, it was just a slice of life story with the MC solving every problem with his past life knowledge and OP powers that he rarely trains nowdays. And every other character's jaw are mostly touching the floor 90% of the time.. It was ok.. But slice of life fantasy world isnt my thing..

Quite enjoyable but the further you read it the fewer possible branch of ideas the author can take. This is quite a fatal mistake that I believe caused this series to be dropped.

Read the reboot spin-off as it follows a different path with diversity (starting at volume 3). That's all I can say.

The non existat ending pretty much ruined the entire thing.

No matter how mediocre or average a novel is a proper editor gives the readers confidence in the authors dedication to their work.

A lot of authors seem to miss that point.

The story is not that bad and I found it quite entertaining 3.5 - 4 stars but the ending or more specifically lack of any subtracts 1 star.

This novel is pretty funny as we see someone who's not use to trusting people due to his past life. He gets tons of cheats, and all that jazz. It's slice of life gold imho as we barely see any fight seens and the ones we do are short and are usually finished earlier. I recommend this to anyone who likes novels about every-day life of a genius child and all that.

Wow.

Slimes are actually cool now to me.

If you like MC that take time to build up to OP ness. You get that here.

... more>> I hate the OP MC off the bat. I love the MC that build up and then you go, wow. He's cool and bad ass. Nice! Good Job!*Rock Lee gives two thumbs up on this!*

World building is detailed.

And did I mention how cool slimes are? Yeah. Our MC takes the most lamest monster and turns them into OP coolness. Seriously who uses slimes to make alcohol!!!

Good stuff right there.

Read and enjoy a nice ride of adventure and plain fun. NO drama queens here or angry heroes. <<less
