Ye Sui has been transmigrated into a book and became the venomous villain. And because she looked a little similar to the white lotus female protagonist, she was regarded as a replacement by the male protagonist. Ye Sui was also married to the main character’s third Uncle, Chen Shu, who was jinxed to ruin the life of whoever marries him.

Immediately after she got transmigrated, she became the malicious and conceited villainess with a husband named Chen Shu, who was about to divorce her. Ye Sui could see ghosts, however, as soon as she touched Chen Shu, the ghosts would disappear.

Chen Shu, who was preparing for divorce, was shocked upon his return to his home. As his wife suddenly hugged his thigh and begged, “No divorce, even if you beat me to death I will not sign the divorce paper.”

Chen Shu: “…”

It was rumored that Ye Sui has a hard life. She married Chen Shu, a good for nothing husband who escaped death at the age of 30. But this sickly husband of hers actually had tens of billions of dollars in wealth.

Ye Sui almost believed that her life is doomed until she slowly realized it.

Her husband is omnipotent and the family is getting richer and richer.

That Tea is actually a priceless vintage tea..

A replica vase in Tang Dynasty was actually authentic…

She soon found out her husband, Chen Shu, was a super rich and invisible wealthy man.

I really want to like this novel, I really do, but somehow I didn't get that sense of lost after reading this. It's more like...a relief, I'm relieved that this story finally ended. The story wasn't bad though, it's just...a bit way too dragging and slow.

The idea was actually quite refreshing but it wasn't executed well. The ghosts weren't that interesting, most of them had almost the same tragic love story. Even the final ghost felt so bland. Talking about ghosts, what happened with:

Spoiler
  • The candy company that MC inherited from one of the people that she helped? She mentioned that she would donate his assests and only kept a candy store but after that, it was never mentioned again till the end.
  • The director that made a movie about his late wife? He mentioned that he would kill himself after finishing the movie but it was also never mentioned again whether the director really killed himself or not.
[collapse]

Also, I don't mind the plot about coma but if it happened twice and to the same person with almost the same cheesy reason, it would make it less touching. Better did it once but made it more impactful.

And the translation could be better. There were some several parts missing so I had to MTL those missing parts. But still, thanks to translator for the hard work. <<less

"I hope she’ll be a fool—that’s the best thing a girl can be in this world, a beautiful little fool." - The Great Gatsby

MC is precisely this beautiful little fool. Apart from suddenly gaining yin yang eyes and coping like a baby ostrich, all goes for her just as the quote outlined for the manic pixie dream girls of a century ago. ML, predictably, likes this flavour. You may also find it to your taste.

However, the exposition and charactersation is really very weak in the first third of the story.... more>> The transmigration has no meaning, for example, and the writing is just very formulaic and flat. The petty little catfights are treated with the same magnitude as the life-threatening crises. It's especially unimpressive if you've just come away from reading NU novels with a similar premise (I recommend They All Say I’ve Met a Ghost and Don't You Like Me) that are miles better. There are also parts where awkward editing smushes the paragraphs together and makes the text hard to read.

There are some improvements after the bumpy first trimester. The saving grace turned out to be the ghosts and the ML. Although the ghosts' problems were too easily resolved due to lazy writing, they were cheap fun to meet randomly. The ML himself is a sweet bean, open-minded and hardworking. Even pretty, empty-headed MC occasionally becomes somewhat 3D in their presence. You can tell that the author was growing and learning as she went, but the improvements were not meteoric, and reading to the end was a drag. 3 stars. <<less

It is a bit hard to read. So far everything is as cliche as could be, the characters have nothing to remember them for.

The translation is odd, some chapters are a big wall of texts without paragraphs or pauses, I don't know if it is the author's idea or the translator's choice to post walls of texts.

I stop reading for now because it is just too hard to read.

I usually don't like slowburns and I felt that this one is sort of counted as one, considering the fact that it took so long for them to actually confess to each other. However, now that I caught up and finished reading the latest chapters, it felt really worth it.
Spoiler

I just got to say that I LOVE the angst (ig??) especially the accident and reveal of the marriage part. I was so dying to see that unfold and was so happy that it really has my fav tropes.

[collapse]

I also love both ML and FL they're so cute😭😭 and really suit each other.

Spoiler

The ghosts' own personal/side stories are so good as well. And the past life thingy. Just love everything

The translations is a bit choppy.

The story is very promising at start but I lose interest after reading halfway. One of the main reason would be because the plot is not elaborated well enough. The MC & ML met a ghost in one chapter and everything is solved in the next chapter.

For light and fast reading, this is good enough but it gets boring really fast especially when everything moves too fast.

I've just started it and the writing ? Or translation ? Sucks.. Seriously I'm 2 chapters in and I don't know what's going on. Will update if I keep reading it.

Update 1:

I don't know if I should blame FL or ML for this but..

Spoiler

The ML keeps antiques and costly stuff at his home, and the FL thinks these are fake ones but good quality products and uses them. She breaks an antique vase which costs millions but tells ML that after the shooting is over she'll buy him a vase similar to this one. She uses a costly tea powder, which is so rare that it is usually used as a showpiece. She makes tea flavored chicken with it for the ML and says that if he likes it then she'll make again as there is still some tea left.

[collapse]

Update 2: It's really long and seriously boring. I'm dropping it. <<less

Loved how orgMC and orgML are nobodies that has no importance to the novel. It is well written and nicely translated. Does not have over the top drama or too much character development. Gosts plot is all over the place and they do not have a clear aim. But the romance is sweet and there are a lot of funny interactions with MC.

I wasn't expecting much, I had just read "I Help the Richest Man Spend Money to Prevent Disasters" so I expected some loop holey face slapping nonsense, plus the description doesn't do this any justice. You can tell it's the same author, some scenes are recycled, but this is so much better. At first it didn't seem like much, in my head this was worth 3 stars, slowly it went up to 4, and then I've settled on 5. This is not excellent but it made me cry multiple times,... more>> the characters are much better done than the other LN, the "villains" aren't as irrational and petty, the romantic scenes are much better and I really like this couple. Ofc the FL is basically same as the other LN's FL in a way, you know "excellent temperament" and both characters are somehow the best looking people, both are your typical Mary Sues that unexplainably are much better than the other women in all aspects. I liked this one tho bc the ML was more low-key, their love wasn't cultivated through status or money. This is... good. I didn't see the supernatural tag, that was the pleasant surprise and what has made me cry, the stories were touching.

The main problem is the translator and their website but I'm still grateful for the translations, but NGL, while reading sometimes I had to go with reposting websites because the translator's website fails a lot, multiple times it redirected me to wp-admin/install. php I'm guessing it was an issue with the amount of queries the website got. Plus the links on the first chapters were wrong sometimes, but the latest chapters are fine since they added a "Previous| TOC | Next ", the genders are also wrong sometimes but it's much better than MTL so I guess I'm gonna be keeping up with the translations. <<less

This is so cute! The grammar and editing is good and the MC is so cute! The ML dotes on her and all the side characters can´t compare. She´s constantly trying to get close to her husband full of yang but she has really thin skin and it´s just so much fun to watch their interactions!

Everyone who likes to read a very lighthearted and warm novel like cotton candy melting in your mouth, with a twist of comedy and horror, you will surely love it!

Everything in this story made me feel like I'm one with the feathers floating about in the air 😌 this one is so fresh in me cuz ive been reading angsty stuff and they be heavy.

Of all them Male leads I've seen, The Former wife of Invisible Wealthy Man, if not the best, is part of the list of them. MC... more>> is a very likeable character, she's so lovely. Their love story is something that can inspire young couples out there 😌

Thank u for this novel 💛 <<less

I love the idea.
But.... this novel is full of uncertainty, plot holes everywhere.

Spoiler

For example, the yang energy is strong to hurt the ghost and the ghosts are afraid to be near ML, yet they still can sit in the same car with ML driving it??? And yang energy can be depleted when ML is drunk???

It says, MC ML relations is bad, so why'd ML play along without asking? So far (chapter 21), there's nothing abt MC and ML previous relationship, beside they're strangers, and nothing abt how they marry. Confusing

MC is afraid of ghosts and always needs yang energy to get rid the ghost, so how'd she able to film days without touching ML or ML personal item, or how'd she save at home?

One night ML pretends to sleepwalk (suddenly sit when he's asleep), and the other day he's really sleepwalk and somehow knocks MC's bedroom door?

Ghost can throw paper cup? Can slap a vase? And ML never notices anything weird with those??

[collapse]

Other than those considerably amount of indecisiveness, this novel is interesting. I just couldnt help myself whenever I read those I feel my head hurt of the uncertainty in the plot.

I finished reading this through MTL. The story is very good, with lots of fluff and entertainment shenanigans. The FMC and the ML are both extremely likable, and you end up cheering them on as their romance starts to blossom. There are also some good moments of humor as FMC proceeds to climb the showbiz ladder and turn her reputation around on the merits of her own hard work, as well as some unexpected ghost appearances.

Spoiler

A few points of criticism: There are occasions where the narrative gets super melodramatic, and a later arc that supposedly explains their supernatural constitutions and their past lives is rather bland and seems almost shoehorned. It would've been far more interesting without that angle.

[collapse]

All in all, a good read. The ongoing translation (chap. 31 as of this review) is excellent in quality, with clear prose that helps convey the story vividly. <<less

Finished in one day and now I feel empty. Honestly this is my first review, sorry if my grammar is not okay.

At first it was boring but at some point I couldn't take my eyes off of it, I really really enjoyed it.I liked the MC and ML's relationship slow development and their interaction, I also cried for the angst. If you're bored and want something to read I recommend this.

The synopsis is misleading. Like... really, really misleading.

The portion of the story about their potential divorce is so short I don't even remember it. The ghosts take up a much more significant part of the story. Even more so than their relationship as they don't even confess until about halfway through the novel. It's also around then that he confesses his wealth to her and that's when she realizes the value of the things in their home.

The MC is a transmigrator who has inhabited a body with high Yin, having... more>> all 8 yin birth characters, and that allows her to see ghosts (as well as have a "feminine" and cold physiology). The host body was originally a low tier actress but the MC is like the goddess of acting. So she quickly decides to continue acting but she also chooses to better her life with the ML as he can prevent ghosts from coming near them.

The ML is a CEO with a tragic backstory. The opposite to the MC, he is full of Yang which causes his family to believe he was bad luck. They also followed a medium's advice that he would fall victim to a calamity on his 30th birthday so they kind of avoided him. He was married to the MC for luck, and after the initial attempt at divorce, begins to develop feelings for her due to her kind nature.

Spoiler

The ML was practically abandoned by his family. His mother would lock him in a dark room and then eventually left him.

[collapse]

This story starts off as a typical actress dealing with other petty actresses, just with the ghosts as a slight twist. However, it begins degenerating into a ghostbusters kind of story before we get to the romance confession. Along the way, there are some repeated story beats and it begins to feel like the author couldn't quite decide to go full acting, full ghosts or full supernatural.

Spoiler

Every new director requires the MC to prove herself.

More than one actress tries to put the MC in her place but gets face-slapped.

The random ghosts at each set that need help solving their regrets. This story kind of went with the "there are dead people everywhere" idea of ghosts.

Then there is a coma. Twice.

[collapse]

The story isn't bad but it drags out things way too long. From the paint-drying slow romance to the tragedy, everything takes a lot longer than it needs to be. The MC and ML dance around their feelings far longer than any sane person ever would and everything that follows after is just too long.

Spoiler

The MC's second coma was heart-wrenching to read through. As slow as everything else is, that arc felt disproportionately long compared to everything else. Especially as we're watching the ML fall apart.

[collapse]

Then there are the antagonists. There really isn't any face-slapping for them and they kind of fade out of the story once it hits a certain point. No one really gets any kind of punishment other than the MC and ML having their happy ending.

Spoiler

The original protagonist finds out that his uncle is actually rich and then tries sucking up. He gets forced to apologize and that's it. Same with the original FL. She realizes the MC is now more powerful than her and she dreads retribution that never comes.

The newcomer actress gets frightened by a ghost and begs the MC to save her. Don't remember anything about her after that.

The mature actress literally has the MC's skill shoved down her throat to prove that the MC is a better actress than her.

[collapse]

There is an interesting twist near the end. Or at least it would have been interesting if the foreshadowing wasn't so hamfisted. I understand that it was supposed to be a plot point but it didn't quite flow very well (to me it felt like an after thought that was thrown in to justify certain things).

Spoiler

Turns out they were in love in a previous life. Unfortunately, they never got to be together as he died in battle and she burned to death while waiting for his return.

They also conveniently encounter a group of ghosts who help them recover their lost memories (which then helps those ghosts move on) and further cement their feelings for each other.

[collapse]

I did like it but it's definitely not the best. It had a lot of potential that just never seemed to go anywhere.

Note about the translation: Some of the chapters are out of place or are missing paragraphs (some people did post the missing sections in comments). There are also mixed-up names, repeated portions and some nonsensical grammar. This doesn't affect my rating of the novel but more as a note for anyone looking to read it. <<less

This novel was passable. There were several things that I didn't like -

  1. The translation wasn't great. It looked like an edited machine translation, and some of the chapters seemed to be lifted off another translator's work.
  2. The MC was a total Mary Sue.
  3. The plot was tiresome and predictable; I could hardly complete it and forced myself to finish the last chapter.

I give it 3.0 stars at most. Started at fine. But became boring as time went on. Plot holes here and there, no good character development, the story telling ability mediocre, incomplete stories, Extremely dragging and repetitive. This book is for someone who has no other source of fun and feels like wasting time. I don't know if its the translation or the author. They need massive improvement. It was total crap.

This was a pretty nice story. Nothing too complicated, a couple of mysteries and good amount of wholesomeness. Some parts were a bit dramatic, and some dragged on a bit too long (like her work and social media) but all in all it was a nice read. I liked the ending too, which is not always the case. The translation is really solid and you can easily follow along with who's talking (which is not always the case in other novels). All in all a 3, 5-4 from me.
