In regards to the yearnings for women of the army chiefs from the barracks, if one were to summarize it in a sentence: The beauties in Jiangnan had long since gone.
Afterwards, he was made perplexed by that valiant and formidable looking female brigand, who dallied with women better than any man: Since when did the beauties in Jiangnan transform into such troublemakers?
This is a story of a shipping group’s female young leader wearing men’s clothes VS. an old-fashioned guy who had shed his armor to return to civilian’s life.

1. A light romance comedy. Don't take everything too seriously. You've been warned.
2. Setting is somewhere between Ming - Qing Dynasty. The country condition, the city names, and official positions are based on reality.
3. Female lead is a smart, goofy, capable character. She cleans her own mess, which is rare in webnovels, where for the most part, author lets the male lead does that for them. Male lead starts off as your typical stern, charismatic, cold character. However, he is not overbearing and forceful even until the end of the story. He respects the female lead enough to let her do things her own way (whenever he's not busy rubbing his head for the messes she creates), and I really appreciate this kind of story.
4. There will be business conflicts on the later part of the story.
5. A happy ending. Comedic undertone in almost every chapter. The characters are fun and bright, each with their own personalities.
I mean it when I said Don't take everything too seriously. Keep in mind that this is meant to be a relaxing read, just enjoy the flow and laugh once in a while, as there is nothing that is too absurd anyway. Still makes more sense than some total Mary Sue characters from some novels.
This is for readers who are tired and need a break from the typical face-slapping or palace intrigue drama with too many evil concubines, empress dowagers, and dog emperors. What keeps me going is the curiosity of how the stories will end. What will happen to the business since female lead is a woman, and sooner or later she will have to marry or something. Then once the male lead's identity is known, that curiosity only increases. All in all, since everyone has their own taste, I can only say, give this a try, and see you in my teahouse! "Let us be kind to each other as the heart is already fragile, life is already hard, and this translator still wants to live a few more years."
Wook, signing out.
ML goes out of the room saying he's gonna propose marriage to the MC's dad. MC can't follow cuz she's on bedrest. At this point in the story, she had just found out he knew her gender and had ZERO romantic thoughts about him at all. She says "Do you think I'm willing to marry you?!", which the ML hears from outside the room. He then smiles thinking, "What a naive girl."
The female hare* has shifty eyes,
But when a pair of hares* run side by side;
Who can distinguish whether I in fact am male or female?
hare* - a kind of rabbit This paragraph tells that although there exist differences between genders, you cannot distinguish male and female when they are "running side by side". Figuratively, men and women can't be different when fighting together for the victory of the same ideals.
Source: Victor Yeh I used that Mulan's speech before, to criticize the difference in power between men and women in Ancient Times. Ancient women were narrow minded because they spent their whole lives locked in Harems in the back palaces, scheming and fighting for the favor of powerful men, since in the end they can only become Concubines, Empresses or Nobles's Wives, while ancient men, could deal with the broad world, being able to change and influence the future of Empires, by becoming Generals, Ministers, Powerful Nobles or Rich Merchants and even Emperors. Although realistic, this reality isn't pleasant to read at all... But this novel is such a surprise, because it doesn't have the stereotype ancient female character fighting petty battles in the harem! This is the best novel ever with the best heroic female lead and for that reason I really, really fell in love! 🥰
The female lead Bai Shiqi, is the embodiment of Strong Ancient Chinese Women, like the Legend of Mulan. Despite her not being a war general like Mulan, she was still heroic and valiant as one.
Bai Shiqi was exactly my type of female lead: a valiant and heroic beautiful girl, righteous and just, but also extremely naughty and tomboyish... maybe that can be described as a perfect Mary Sue female character, that can easily solve everything without the help of any men, but even if she is a Mary Sue, it doesn't bother me at all, because Bai Shiqi is so funny, cute, enchanting and likable 🥰
She wasn't born to be locked in a harem and have the miserable fate of ancient women. She was a courageous and just young woman that was born to wander freely around the world and inspire people to follow her.
She would go on adventures through rivers and oceans to make a living, befriending and enchanting all types of people when having fun by pretending to be a playboy, while righteousness fighting pirates to protect the weak, and when discussing about politics, always having a broad mind that always thinks about the justice for the commoners. Her only defect, was that she was too perfect and was impossible not to fall in love with her... 😌
I'm not going to give a bunch of spoilers like I normally do in my reviews... but I just want to say that not only the female lead is pleasing, but all the characters of the novel! From the female lead's cute parents, to the nice concubines of her father, to her funny best friend, to the serious male lead and the good hearted second male lead, and even the conflicted and lost villain...
