Coming from manwha. I think the story have potential to be good, but there are few instances that I feel the author give a gift to the MC without MC doing the work (the gachas and extra reward).

the MC is okay, the Female lead is okay-ish. Some other character little bit generic. As chapter 12, we don't know much about the world. The pacing is okay-ish too. Not too slow.

While I don't think this deserve 5, I don't think this deserve 1 either. I'll give it chances until chap 30~40.

One of those novels that got a manhwa adaptation that would make you wonder why the hell did this one get adapted when there are so many better stories out there with much, much better execution...

Let's start with the premise of the story... This is the only good part about it.. And sadly, it's completed in the prologue itself... So... basically, the prologue is where it starts becoming shitty...

The characters are worse than mob characters in Chinese cultivation novels...

The gags are so terrible that manga for 10 year olds have... more>> better ones...

The conversations are so artificial and s*upid that would make you wonder about the mental age of the author...

The use of the words 'rumour', 'talent', and 'good-for-nothing' seems to be the main aim of the author while thinking of sentence construction...

You're better off staying away from this one if you haven't started on it.

The excellent premise and the curiosity as to how the MC is related to the system would make you want to stay if you start it. But each and every chapter would be a torture making you feel like you committed some great sin by being curious <<less

Although I'm still not quite fond of the Yoo Chan character, I really like the Nox character. There is depth in the story, and every character has their own background, although they are not always dynamic. Especially the Nox character has a really interesting past to explore, and the anti-hero vibe is quite to my taste.

But what intrigues me the most is the world setting and the interesting plot developments. The fantasy world has a lot of potential if rendered well. That's why I'm giving it a 5-star rating—not because... more>> of the main character or the gaming setting of the world or the plot, but because of the world setting, its history, and the diversity of the characters, which made my reading worthwhile.

I don't judge a book solely by its main character or plot development, but rather from the perspective of how the world setting attracts me to read more, to know more about it. That's why this novel has my full attention because it was able to captivate my imagination and build good synchronization with it.

And finally a few spoiling thoughts on the novel:

Spoiler

Nox's father, Theo, was actually an anti-hero protagonist until the Night of the Slaughter.

How? Because he is one of the strongest, a dude with a dark attribute, but his waifu's attribute is holy. They have an overpowered lovely child, which is Nox, but you see, after Nox's mom died saving him, Theo becomes a villain from a gamer's perspective, although he didn't. He has done a lot of crazy things for the empire, just like an antihero. His heroism ends with his wife's death.

Now, until Yoo Chan possesses Nox, Nox remains a villain in every round of the games. Because there was no one to guide this poor soul, and not only humans but also the archdemons were afraid of him. And so, he meets his brutal ends every time.

You know what? Nox is actually the strongest hidden piece in the game, I mean the strongest MC that can rival any talent; that's how powerful he was, and his mom believed in him, but I'm not gonna spoil anymore because his mom, before dying, erased his memory for some reason. And he never gained that back, never until Yoo Chan from the other world possessed him.

Now, you see, as a gamer, Yoo Chan completed the game 27 times with different types of MC, but after possessing Nox, it becomes clear that Nox's potential is actually the best on the continent. His illness is another topic. Well, that's to be expected from the child of the strongest swordsman and his holy wife who's also shrouded in mystery. And his mom believed in his potential; it was something like she believed that something that only Nox can achieve and no one else can, and it was something like a prophecy, I believe. That's why he is regarded as a rascal, not because he's actually a rascal but because his mom wanted to keep him safe from others until he grows up because his powers were that great even when he was a child, and that'll definitely gain attention.

Anyway, so yeah, long story short. Nox's father, Theo, was the previous anti-hero of the story. After his wife's death, Nox became the protagonist. That's kinda interesting, I'd say.

Another generic novel in which the MC reincarnates into a villain noble with a bad reputation and gets every good skill/item. Of course, as with every other novel like that, it has a gimmick—he has a 1 year lifespan (which he will increase anyway).

I really liked the story and the characters, what I didn't like is that there are few characters in the academy.

Nox works hard, but in order for us readers to see that effort, more chapters must be dedicated to Nox's day-to-day life.

Although the story and its characters have their background, more chapters are needed from the point of view of the other characters and their respective thoughts.

... more>> The comedy is good, as long as Rona is involved, Djitri too. And the misunderstandings hahaha.

I give it 4 stars. Simply because I really want to see more. <<less

honestly the story line would've gone more smoothly if there weren't unnecessary romance plots. The MC is definitely quickwitted but even after all this he falls in the trap of politics. In his journey to become an ultimate villain there was no need to add harem to it. I mean he shares no romantic feelings for any female characters and it becomes annoying to see all the female characters swooning over him. Or not feeling any gratitude towards him saving there life and just using him. As someone who knows... more>> the plot the MC could've avoided the annoying political conspiracies but atp it feels the author wants to add unnecessary spice <<less

i took out 1 star because the MC naration is so unreliable.

the premise is fine, you got a glass cannon MC with villain background. There s also several staple characters with their usual troupe. MC is also hardworking and training even with such messed up body. theres also some interesting character at the beginning which you cant get rid of. MC also avoid solving everything with bloodshed if possible, theres also some planning to get rid of the sick body at the beginning.

everything was fine until MC messed up himself.

Spoiler

MC despised his bloodline and always telling reader that he was willing to discard his family. actually no... MC was still using his family sword art eventhough he could invent a better swordart. MC bragged all the time that he was a genius and could steal all technique. but eventually MC still waste a lot of precious life force to learn the very family swordart that he despised. why waste your lifeforce if you could get similar power by just invent your original technique?

MC even waste his own precious lifeforce to get a cursed sword heirloom. (because all villain MC need that). what I dont like is MC would agree to discard that sword if his father demanded it. I mean he wasted months of life for something he didnt consider important. luckily his father never actually took that sword to messed MC up.

MC got a demon horse but he never use them even on dangerous situation. I thought some equestrian battle would made some good impression on MC followers but his op horse only served as a decoration. I want to see how his demon horse kicking or slamming the enemy.

MC also went chuuni, and wanted to be a protagonist as well as villain. I mean he had an adult soul, if he was scared of his life, why bother what protagonist should do? just let the side characters to fix their own problems. its not as if you can only help by become a protagonist. theres several occasions MC could get rid of his problems by kidnaping some villain. but MC need to acts as a jerk but still kind to everyone.

thats all bad but still fine until one incidents happen. the core of MC ability to stay alive is an artifact to absorb life from killing creatures. But later MC catching a hot demon girl and still got the huge lifeforce. killing is not the same with kidnaping. I know author want a hot demon girl but thats not how the artifact works. this is what cost author 1 star

MC is incredibly inconsistent. He often talks about avoiding dead ends and making survival plans, yet the author repeatedly forces him to act against his established characteristics just to move the story forward. A skilled author would ensure that the story flows smoothly with consistent characters and logical developments, but in this case, it feels like everything is forced to fit the author's will.

The storyline of this novel is difficult to follow. The author attempts some in-chronological writing. There are unnecessary detours scattered throughout the narrative, making it frustrating to... more>> keep track of the main plotline when all I want is to find out what happens next. <<less

As much as I like the plot, I don't like Nox as a Main Character. His character is incredably inconsistent it makes no sense.

From his own persective/thought, he is at times a f*cking edge lord, and other times he is a idiot with no backbone. He is shown to multiple times trying to take the best possible actions at times to live longer, but for some reason he doesnt kill the demon going atound in town in fear that smt might happen.

Actually, it also makes very little sense as to... more>> why he's so surprise everytime the story of the game he knows goes offrails. He is aware that changes are due to him, but is somehow completely taken by surprise when something doesn't go to plan. Then he starts cursing that something unknown to him is changing everything.

It would not be as much of an issue in 3rd person writing, but since 90% of the novel is his perspective, you can read what he think, and at some point, it is really distracting.

Now I know there are stories where the MC has these traits, but those works in comedies, not this. <<less

I would enjoy this much more if there was less romance or if romance itself was better written. A lot of MC's decisions are really irrational. He sometimes behaves like he's fearless and sometimes like he lacks backbone. It's frustrating. And if I read one more time how handsome he is... Well for now I will still read it to see what will happen next but I feel like story had potential but it's wasted.
