Edit: I just want to make this clear at the beginning (which I should have said), I MTL-ed this. The rating is purely based off the original work. This rating has nothing to do with the translation quality. Survival Game Unlimited has changed translators several times and I haven't read the latest chapters by the new translators. I still would recommend reading this novel as it is an enjoyable horror novel with an independent female MC.

Don't expect a lot of romance; MC is a grown-up adult and she goes through... more>> many arcs on her own, without the ML (arguably makes it more enjoyable, depends on you). I read it with a combination of machine-translation/occasional manual translation because of how interesting the plot was. One criticism is the development and fleshing out of the characters. It was difficult remembering who side characters are, and how some side characters who seemed to be important, don't play a large role after their initial arcs. I got a "feel" of roughly what the MC and ML are, but they still feel a little bit flat (this may be the MTL). <<less

The article was nice, it's interesting.

Yu Su, our main character, inexplicably got APP downloaded in her phone and it needs her to complete missions.

Many of these missions are formed because of an individual's experience of suffering and injustice. These missions are also connected to reality, most of it are the buried and stand still cases.

It didn't make Yu Su nonsense overpowered. Yes, Yu Su is clever but it's not overpowered to the point of overwhelming a seasoned player in her first missions. She practiced and sharpened herself enough to protect her life.

And the side characters! I love side characters. They were really cute and well executed.

All of them have their own characteristics that made them unique to others.

I remember how that one character persuaded (scammed) Yu Su into joining their two person organization.

Later, Yu Su also persuaded (scammed) one. [lauging emoji]

How two characters became closest friends because they solve things by killing.

And, I like how humane the APP is. It was not deliberately malicious or favoring anyone. It was on a neutral standpoint.

The arcs. When I think of the arcs, the most that came into my mind was Yu Su's 4th and 14th missions.

Because they're too f*cking confusing qaq. [crying emoji]

My brain was gonna explode thinking and trying to understand what's happening. You'll understand once you've read it.

The romance. It was categorized as a subplot by the readers, but! I tell you, THE SUGAR WAS REALLY SWEET! [really sweet]

Their interactions made my heart warm.

Speaking of, I want to make it clear (if someone misunderstands) that she didn't rely on Feng Ting (Wang San, deliberate spoiler ehe) at all.

I even like how most of the time, she was alone when doing her missions. It made her shine bright like a diamond.

Like, when the enemy thought they caught her, the situation would have a quick turnaround. Their face was quickly slapped. (I love those scenes.)

And I like how when one of them would enter a dangerous mission, all of them would just shove the props they have to that person. It was sweet and heartwarming.

The arc I liked the most was... I don't know. IT'S HARD TO PICK ONE! [furiously defending myself]

Some of them really gave me the sweet vibes, like romance is in the air.

While in some arc, some of the side characters really shined on me directly. They pierced my heart.

I just noticed, while writing my review, I constantly switched the topic. Like one minute I was just talking about the arcs, the next second it became about the characters. Gomene. [dogeza posture]

That's all from my review. This is 5/5 for me. If you're looking for a balanced novel, this is the one for u.

Yu Su was silent, looking down at his fingers.

Feng Ting looked at her bowed head, his hands hanging by his side raised slightly, and then suddenly put them down.

He said, "Okay, I'm leaving, you should rest early."

He turned around and walked gently towards the door, Yu Su looked up at him and asked, "Why are you so timid?"

Feng Ting stopped and turned around. Turning his head, he raised his eyebrows.

Yu Su stood up and walked towards him, stopped in front of him, looked up into his eyes and said, "Don't you like me, because you are afraid of dying in the mission, so you dare not say it, do you?"

Ting was stunned for a few seconds, and a suspicious red appeared on the tip of his ear. He said in a panic, "Then, that... is... no, no!"

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! THIS SCENE WAS UNEXPECTEDLY SWEET FOR ME!

Feng Ting gave a low laugh, turned his head and saw someone taking pictures next to him, and said to her: "We have never taken a photo together, take a picture?"

"Okay, " Yu Su readily agreed, and then smiled: "Don't use it. Camera, come and use your phone to take pictures, I want a tenth-level beauty!"

Feng Ting was amused by her: "Forget it, tenth-level beauty can't save your face."

Yu Su glared at him fiercely: "Then are you right? Ugly fetish?"

"No, " Feng Ting came over and asked her to turn on the phone and frame the two of them. After she pressed the button to take a picture, she said, "I love you."

"..." Yu Suzhuan Beginning: "Men who talk flattery are not good things. Where did you learn them from? They are disgusting and numb!"

"Then why are you blushing?"

"I was blown by the cold wind!"

"Can I help you warm with my hands? "

Oh, you must want to take the opportunity to pinch my face again."

THEIR SMALL BANTERING WAS SK CUTE, AAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!

The MC, Yu Su, is a calm but just your normal woman in mid-twenties. There's really nothing interesting or maybe OP about her beside her cruel past. Like the other review has said, don't expect romance or maybe like some progress between MC and ML, because their love just progressing really fast and kinda flat in the end of the novel. There are quite a lot of plotholes in this novel, but I like the particular arc so I didn't care much about the plotholes.

I really like the 14th arc, where everything is just a false world. An illusion and not a real world. Then when the MC kinda finished the mission, it actually just an illusion inside the illusion and there's another illusion. When I was reading this, this arc really make me confused and think whether this chapter is really the MC's real world or it's still inside the illusion.

MTL can be really confusing for this novel but you can still read it. I don't know if it's author's first novel but even though some of it can be really flat or bland, I really enjoy it. <<less

This novel is good but why cant I bring myself to rate it 5 stars?

Human trafficking is so real and it still happens all around the world under the so called shadows. This world is still very patriarchal and daughters are treated as objects by families. I'm Indian, I should know. Honestly hated the ML in this arc. In the 4th arc, s** trafficking is addressed. Again so horrendously relevant everywhere in the world. Again women treated as commodities. This arc was so uncomfortable to read.

I hated that the torture the players had to go through was treated as something normal. I love and hate the fact that all the side characters are not 2 dimensional and are trying to survive in their own ways. I hate the games the players are forced to play and I hate that I want to continue reading to see how the very normal but clever MC succeeds in surviving at the end.

Dont read this novel if you're looking for a fun read. I'll need to watch some cartoons after this read. <<less
