I have re-read this 5 times already. It's fun. I like that the MC is allowed to grow as a character and become more loving and caring without it having to be done through a love intrest. The world's are interesting but its always better when she's actively trying to protect someone than when she thinks they don't need it.

A fun short QT novel. Arcs are pretty short so you'll won't get bored, but the characters and interactions are pretty nice in the beginning, later on it devolves to overturningthe OG Hero/Heroine of the world and counterattacking in weird ways.

For most of them, there is either no actual interactions with the Original Villain/Hero or its face slapping the OG Protagonists

The first arc was the longest and the one that got me the most emotionally invested. A nice moderate take on the modern entertainment plot. Big bro Ren Ling! The Original main CP only appeared at the last chapter happily married.

Best arc IMO.

The second she just went wild in a cultivation reversal plot. Interestingly she wasn't the only person to know of the original plot, and this minor plot twist will happen again.

The third was being a workaholic author in a isekai harem setting. Everyone were pretty dogblood/isekai harem protag minded, but they got their comeuppance.

The fourth was being an OP daughter of the poor FL in a really dogblood modern drama.

Fifth was counterattacking an urban fantasy setting with the power of Science.

Sixth was a change since she became a mother. And a cultist head and an Emperor.

The throwback to an horror game setting was a change for the seventh, but it ended pretty quicklysince she was originally a LAST BOSS in that kind of setting and curbstomped the Lord God off-screen in a single sentence.

Eighth was her interstellar holiday. She didn'treally do much but leave and that was enoughto derail the plot.

And the last was a Zombie Apocalypse! Which was mostly reactions and such since she decided to do some peaceful base building and farming.

Still not idea what the original villain wanted in this arc, maybe being a pet cat was his true wish?

[collapse]

Other than the first arc, amazing, great people, very fun, the appeal of the rest of the book is probably the low investment, status quo overturning, QT antics of someone who wasn't originally human.

Its nice seeing her slowly being fleshed out, learning more about affection and interpersonal relationships, her own desires and stuff.

Still its only 103 chapters long, its its a nice short QT to binge <<less

Very refreshing, no romance not because she is torn about having a lover and leaving them and their kids but rather she doesn't care about it.

The worlds are very interesting and shoutout to the first one for being a bit of an emotional gut punch and its nice to see MC slowly grow more emotions and likes as time goes by.

She's a munchkin but she was a munchkin even before the story started so the progression of power doesn't seem too unbelievable or the jump too big, rather more like... more>> getting back the power she once had. <<less

This was a fun read! I really enjoyed the premise and the short arcs made this easy to binge. Lin Xiaoting is one of a kind and it was interesting to see how she'd achieve her task in each new world.

It's kind of mediocre. That's not to say it's bad, I enjoyed it, but it doesn't dare to explore any interesting concepts or plots. I've seen some comments saying she develops emotions, but it isn't very believable in any of the plots. She isn't even evil in the first place. At least they didn't ruin this with romance.

In the "In the world of real and fake daughter" chapters, the MC instantly starts caring for the villain kid she met 1 second into the world, which makes no sense. She never... more>> slowly develops any sort of connection with characters, so it seems she just sort of makes sure they're in a pretty good state for no reason.

Despite apparently being "The final boss" and a creation of some evil game god lord or something like that, she never acts evil. She says she wants to be the villainess, yet acts nothing like anything resembling evil. This is especially exemplified in the cultivation world (one of the first worlds btw, apparently no emotions "developed" yet), where, despite the MC apparently not caring what happens to the women she "happens" to rescue, with demonic cultivators drooling over them all around, they somehow end up safe and serving as her palace maids. And then she decides to become the demon kind or lord or whatever, yet does nothing demonic and even the author states that during her rule they were friendly to the orthodox sects and didn't fight.

She either 1 Only punishes the bad people or 2 The people she punishes who don't seem bad turn out to be like the worst people ever and it's always somehow justified. Often things are explained with surface level logic or none at all. Like a 3 year old who stole cookies and made up a random excuse on the spot.

And just throwing this in here, but she's also some sort of super genius that can learn anything (but mainly learned hacking) with supernatural powers above everyone (the author often states that her weak body can't handle it or she needs to recharge, but that's honestly all bullsh*t if you read the novel).

Ultimately, this is a shallow, surface level feel-good story. The protagonist speaking coldly doesn't really make up for her not acting as such, so if you were expecting that, you'll be disappointed (like I was). It's better for wasting time than those harem cultivation novels and apparently it ends at slightly above 100 chapters or something, so you can try it out if you want.

I also recommend checking out decarabia's review for more context of the novel. <<less

I sprinted the entire mtl in one go.

I love it.

Like, no joke.

At first I just wanted to find a QT that's interesting enough to relieve my boredom.

But I didn't expect this to be this good.

OK. So first off.

The MC is my favourite. She's so cool. And boy oh boy. The one thing that really set me up to read this to the end is the fact that... more>>
Spoiler

there's no ML! Yes. Being single is the best.

[collapse]

This is basically a story of growth for the MC.

Spoiler

She started as aloof and distant because she's basically a program created by the Lord God of Terror. However, through her QT journey. She met various people and slowly started to understand and attain human emotions.

Its sooooo nice. I wish it was longer.

I hope to encounter more novels like this.♡♡♡ <<less

I have to say that I'm still a fan! What makes this QT so great is that the MC is not human and her reactions and relationships to others remain consistent with her characterization. I only wish there were more arcs!

I'm a fan!!

The MC is just so cool! The different arcs are interesting and although cliche to some degree, I was still pleasantly surprised at times. I like how the MC reacts to different situations. I could see her growth over the years.

The overarching plot just seems to be the MC slowly growing and learning emotions and experiencing the world after being an NPC. There's no big combat with the Terror God that she was working under. One could argue that everything was too easy for the MC but I think that's what makes it refreshing! It was easy but you could still see the MC being puzzled and how her reactions weren't "human".

I would have loved a romance line but in all honestly I think the fact that the MC was so single made this story so much better. If this story had twenty more arcs, I'd still be happy to read. The ending was quite interesting too.
Spoiler

I'm so curious what her life would be like as a System! And the fact that when she's bored, she can join her host?! So the world task would be more complicated with two people??? So curious.

As much as I love this novel there is a major reason I can't give it 5 stars: the lack of detail about the MC. In all of the arcs the MC is shown to be an omnipotent person capable of killing the final boss, but it doesn't go into detail about how she's able to do that.
Spoiler

For example in the second arc she goes around killing all the demon lords, even though it's said by multiple people that they're way above her level. Then how did she do that??

[collapse]

Other than that I really like the novel and it was a fun read. I would recommend you to read it if you have nothing to do.

Brilliant! Absolute brilliant!

I say so I’m terms of the overall read. The arcs are not long and drawn out and they don’t focus too much on romance or face slapping etc. If you’re looking for romance, you won’t find it here. But don’t let that deter you. While it may not have as many face slapping scenes, the ones that appear here come about as a result of the protagonist not even doing them intentionally. Seeing her manner of handling things was quite pleasant.

She was someone who embodied the meaning... more>> of lonely, but through these worlds she gets to explore, learn and do things she loves.

Btw, I believe the first arc was the longest one. Please continue to read onward! <<less

its pretty decent

only critism would be the "Horror" element, honestly after the 4th or 5th time it just got so boring to read the MC scaring people that I started skipping it, but it takes up such a small portion of the novel so it didn't bother me that much

Basically the pacing is terrible in the early chapters. Combined with the poor translation quality and some rather nonsensical plot points (like being able to impress and attract thousands of readers with just one 3k word first chapter, to the point of obtaining a publisher right away), the first third of this story is quite bad. I'd give it a 2.5*.

Later on, however, the clever plot twists stand out a little bit more and as a reader you've got your expectations lowered so it becomes quite tolerable, to the point... more>> where I was sad when it ended.

The main problem ultimately lies in the first few arcs needing more fleshing out to be a decent read.

If I had one complaint about the later chapters, it's that the MC becomes so strong that she curbstomps everything. The author still handles it well by subverting expectations and not following the typical paths of a QT story. <<less

Mediocre, a feel good novel with a FL MC with shallow to nonexistent relationships with others and a fast pace which helps in not making it too dragged out but you will feel how bland and meaningless it feels when reading sometimes.

MC does like one seemingly insignificant action that just end up having detrimental consequences to the bad guys (the ML and fl’s from each world some times) so she’s not very active in getting rid of them or getting revenge for the original owner unless they actively try to... more>> harm her like that ML author guy. <<less

I like how this novel is different from most QT I have read. There is no romance. I was used to reading QTs with romance where ML follows MC to the other worlds, and yada-yada. So, I was kind of expectant if she might find a love interest. But even if there was none, I was not disappointed. Even if there's romance, it's still interesting. It's a new breath of air for me.

I love MC's adventures. If I remember right, she was not forced to travel between worlds. She even... more>> came to love travelling, getting to understand human, experiencing different simulations.
Spoiler

I just hoped that there will be a story of her adventure as a system.

[collapse]

She's so straightforward, that sometimes it was kinda disappointing when she completed her mission so fast. But it was fun when she just did whatever she want, and did not care for people who doesn't matter, then some people just keep on digging their own graves and even if she did nothing, they received their retribution.

Even the system treated her well. <<less

***3.5***

This is refreshing compare to other world hopping/transmigration system. The FL (Lin Xiaotang) just did her missions and didn't create relationships that may entangled her. After missions in every worlds, she just leave without strings attached.

However, I just felt that every worlds were so fast paced that almost all characters lacked depth including FL. You can't feel any connections with some arcs being boring.

This is only a good read if you want fast read to past time.

This is definitely a 5 star read! It's a unique take on the quick transmigration genre! Those who enjoy slice of life stories and short stories would really enjoy this.

The story is is basically about this ultra power boss going to different worlds to supposedly rescue the villains. But most of her time, she minds her own business and experience new things (because she doesn't know anything else besides the horror world she was in) and along the way disrupts the plot and rescue the targets. Even the rescue targets... more>> have barely any presence in each arc. So, those looking for massive facealapping and plots this isn't for you because the MC literally just go about doing her own thing and everything just magically clears up on its own. Just a really well written Mary Sue slice of life.

The antagonists of each arc has the same personality type - the self-entitled-the-world-owes-me-and-its-never-my-fault type. Which can get annoying and infuriating but it's still alright. They all got what they deserved without the MC needing to do anything. The world conscious just loves her!

The horror theme of the novel doesn't prevail in each arc. It's more noticeable in the first and maybe second one but the others are a little different. Which was quite refreshing as it is not like a repetitive method of solving each world.

What I really enjoy about the story is each world is like a short story. Each world has its own ending and unique plot experience so it doesn't feel repetitive and boring. However, because it's a slice of life, there isn't much of a goal/overarching plot. So, the ending may be a bit dull for some as it ends on and her story continues kinda vibe.

This is a no CP novel so don't expect any romance. The MC herself is an indifferent creature who is curious about this she has never seen before. But, in some world she does have some sort of a character development as she starts understanding some human emotions.

Overall, a highly recommend novel for those who enjoy slice of life novels and those looking for a unique experience. Not recommended if you're looking for a typical QT and drama.

Enjoy! <<less
