Pretty good, although I think Paper Plane is a bit better/more memorable, hence I just gave it 4 stars. It's been a while since I read it, but Tan Shi is definitely one of the more interesting and skilled danmei authors who can write well-rounded characters with depth and personality.

Romance starts off as a sugar-dating thing and the ML isn't the nicest guy, but it changes gradually. I don't remember it 100%, but from what I recall, there's no r*pe between MC and ML, dubcon at most.

I had to mtl it but I loved it anyways. I "heard" about this novel in a comment about another novel from the same author, and I got hooked once I started reading. I would definitely read it again once is translated.

It was an okay read. I picked it up because I adored ‘Eye of the storm’ by the same author (Tan Shi). I love the way they tell stories and build their characters, it truly resonates with me. This was set in the same universe.

However I didn’t feel the same here, I forgot about the main characters immediately after I finished the novel which I had to mtl. This romance was a bit too shallow for my liking. I couldn’t feel any depth to the characters and didn’t feel much... more>> for them. The antagonist existed as plot device.

But anytime Cao Ye and Liang Sizhe showed up, I was so happy and I thought I knew them so well (Eye of storm protagonists😀) <<less
