I was accused of attempting to kill my younger sister.

No one believed in me, no one came to help me up. Even my own family.

14-year-old Alyssa. I was a 4th princess of Edenbell, and I died miserably in front of a lot people.

I looked at my younger sister, hoping she would stop them from killing me.

But what I saw was a devil laughing happily at the sight of me dying.

After being executed I opened my new eyes. I was in someone’s womb and I could hear voices.

Before falling unconscious again I heard a boy’s voice saying:

“Welcome, my precious little sister” He laughed warmly “The whole world loves you.”

She was reborn as the first princess of the Emir empire, who was a rival of the Edenbell empire.

It's real cute. And I don't think people in the comments understand how severe a trauma can be.. She doesn't easily open up to people coz she has been through a lot of mistrust and betrayal. It's REAL HARD. And it's not absurd that her brother believed her words when she said that she got reincarnated.. It's a world of magic and he already knew she was hiding some things from him that when she finally opened up, he knew she wouldn't lie to him. He observed that she was... more>> acting too mature for her age and it was also one of the reasons why he believed her. He knew it takes a lot of courage to uncover something about oneself. I found it really reasonable that he believed her. It would rather cause her even more trauma if the brother she loved the most didn't trust her. It's a world with magic after all.. Many possibilities. Tho it was indeed kind of absurd that he would say "she is hiding something. She must have a reason. I should not pry" gosh she literally a kid. U have to constantly check what kids are upto. They might be hiding really nasty things since they are kids and they are ignorant in many ways.

Anyways I'm really happy that she got reincarnated into such a loving family so that she could get all the love she missed in her previous life. She really deserves that much. Until where the manhwa has completed, it's good for a heart warming read. People are saying the MC has no personality but she's just like a normal kind person. She eventually learns to depend on her family and wants to take revenge on her previous family. <<less

I read the translation and then the manhwa. The story itself is pretty good. Don't bother basing your decision to read it on the negative reviews, particularly the ones that complain about the protag's hesitancy and anxiety complex around trusting her new family after reincarnation. Like all the offense, but if you can trust people after getting your eyes stabbed by burning pokers and being beheaded by people that are supposed to care about you, then wow! Clearly you must be a saint!

The story isn't necessarily realistic in the sense... more>> that Aisha's second family of royals are super close, loving, and mostly unplagued by politics, but if you can suspend your belief, there's a lot of warm fluffy moments to enjoy. So far, it's more of a story about healing from from past tragedies and insecurities, with revenge simmering on the back burner. It's very difficult to overcome one's trauma, but Aisha slowly manages to express her love and trust for her new family little by little. It's okay to say if this story isn't your cup of tea, but to rate it down for the protag being, VERY UNDERSTANDABLY, hesitant to trust people after torture, betrayal, and literal death is plain dumb. <<less

The MC has almost no personality and there isn't any logic to the plot. She confesses that she's been reincarnated and her brother accepts it no questions asked because he "trusts her". She reveals herself as a wizard and no one reacts at all. The only reason I'm giving it 2 stars is because it was cute in the beginning.

The beginning of the story is quite interesting but the MC doesn't have a personality at all and even the second family she has is just the typical doting type. Like there are many inconsistencies in the plot and nobody questions how MC has magic power and even the brother just accepted that MC is reincarnation of a princess of an enemy nation like wha---

Just because he trusts her like. Ugh. So the characters are basically cardboard cutout and it's the typical 2nd life face slapping story so hard drop.

I hoped that the MC after reincarnation will overcome her inferior complex against her first family but it became worse.

I expect from now on the MC will build her trust with her new caring family, and if trouble come from an unknown enemy or her past family she will rely on her new family.

Basically this reincarnation is meaningless if the MC didn't change after it, if only she became 5% shadow queen.

I read this story on KakaoPage a long time ago, got them translated by a translation company. I didn't get the chance to write a review back then because I was still recovering mentally after finishing all the chapters, including the side stories. Now, I want to share my thoughts.

At first I Honestly, didn't enjoy how the story was written. After reading it carefully, bit by bit, I felt bewildered, blank, and emotionally drained for months. I know it's just fiction, but I really wanted to know what the author... more>> was thinking. In short, the story felt "bland" to me.

A bland story is one that feels flat and lifeless because it only states events without depth, emotion, or imagery. It usually "tells" instead of "shows, " giving the reader facts in a plain way rather than drawing them into the scene. The characters might act or speak, but their thoughts, feelings, and surroundings are barely described, so it's hard for the audience to connect or care. As a result, the story feels more like a summary of events than a vivid experience.

That said, this story isn't just bland it's also painful and cruel. I've read many angst-filled Korean novels before, but this one really pushed the limits of what my mental health could endure. Despite that, I'm glad I finished it, even when it frustrated me. Despite all this there are also many happy moments. For new readers, I want to give a small glimpse into the story without spoiling too much. I won't go into all the details because the story is complex, and trying to summarize it could make my words shallow. And I might miss some important details too. And I also want the new readers to judge this story in their own way.

I want you, new readers, to experience this story for yourselves and form your own opinions, because each of us can find different meanings and feel different emotions in the stories we read.

Spoiler

The story centers on a young girl who, after a tragic past, is granted a second chance at life. While her journey involves elements of revenge, the main focus lies in her personal healing and the deep familial bonds she forms, especially with her brother. The narrative also introduces a more traditional villainess conflict, though romance remains secondary, with the spirit king of light presented as a notable figure. Overall, the manhwa highlights growth, trust, and family ties while unfolding its plot at a steady pace.

Lastly, I think I'll make a fan-made doujinshi of this story since it's really sad and I don't know how to feel anymore, I feel so empty and blank (~ ̄³ ̄) ~ so I plan to create around three to five alternate versions, each exploring different "what if" scenarios. I'll study the art style of the original manhwa artist of this series so I can capture the same feeling, but with my own twist. In my versions, everyone will find happiness including Marianne, the villain of this story. I want to create a version where she and the female lead, Alyssa/Aisha, are happy together. Each doujinshi will show alternate paths where painful experiences, tragedies, and hardships are either prevented, or where the characters face them and grow stronger side by side. That way it'll give me a Peace of mind.

My Doujinshi 👇

Spoiler

these "what if" retellings will imagine different outcomes. "What if" versions of the story. For instance, one where Marianne is given a chance at redemption through reincarnation first living in a modern world, learning kindness, patience, and self-awareness, learning moral and ethical values and then returning to her original world as Marianne again, determined not to repeat the mistakes that once consumed her. Another version could follow Alyssa/Aisha traveling back in time, reaching out to young Marianne, saving her from her mother's ab*se, and guiding her with understanding and compassion and teaching her moral and ethical values. Each of these alternate paths would allow the characters to grow, heal, and discover happiness together in ways that were never possible in the original story.

I wouldn't personally recommend this novel because I really hate brainwashing plots. That said, readers who are interested may still enjoy it. Just prepare your mental health when you start reading this story. Thank you to everyone who took the time to read through my thoughts 🤸‍♀️ you're amazing! <<less

It's a typical example of a Mary Sue character. She got a tragic background, loved by everyone (like literally everyone except the antagonist), she's always right, she has the power nobody else has except her, she's a beauty, she's just perfect and can do no wrong.

Everything is so perfect for her that there's no character development.

Edit: This review is for the novel, not the manhwa. The manhwa artist changed significant plot points and the ending.

I liked the story a lot. In some ways, it's a typical reincarnation/revenge story, but it has a lot of sweet points, good pacing, and a steady plotline that held true to its goal. In regard to the manhwa, it's one of the best-drawn ones I've seen, and it does the thing that good manhwas do, and adds extra info to help the story make sense. This is not a no-frills... more>> story (some fluff is added just to add fun parts), but neither is there a ton of useless filler. It strikes a good balance.

I'm going to avoid posting spoilers here except to say that you MUST READ the side stories. They aren't really side stories, they're final chapters of the main story. EVERYTHING IS RESOLVED IN THE END. You find so, so, so many answers to questions that were left hanging.

The only true "side story" is the "epilogue" that is the very last side story chapter.

Also:

The new family that the FL reincarnates into does appear to be SUPER doting, but not unbelievably so, and it's actually a plot point that helps the actions of certain characters make sense. They do a nice job of filling in with backstory as to -why- they are the way they are in the form of flashback side-stories interspersed throughout the main novel. (I'm only mentioning this because I've seen reviews taking issue with it, not because I do.) <<less

It's average at best to say the least when it comes against the genre. ... more>>
Spoiler

Brainwashing plots are lowkey buns but I endured...

[collapse]

Spoiler

Marianne is an obvious product of her environment but still chose to be evil because she was jealous of the FL. Still even with that, I found it fascinating that Marianne's jealousy and insanity managed for her to pull a demon under self-inflicted harm to get her scheme working. Like damn, envy's dedication is scary. Marianne is a villainess who genuinely was successful with her scheme (which she was for a time being lol). She is a b*tch, unapologetically so.

[collapse]

Spoiler

I like how that the FL is also unreliable with her narrative which makes sense because she was also effected with things that weren't in her control in the past life. In the end, she did get her revenge which I was proud at the end even with her lack of action at the final fight.

[collapse]

I have to say that I do find the story lacking, it is obvious. However, to me the villainess made me continue reading the novel. Even with my criticism for the FL, I also love her too. I do agree that she doesn't exactly have a personality other than being kind and so... but I still found her a bit charming at the beginning with how she processed her trauma. Like I said, the villainess shined a bit more than the FL for me when it came down to it. The romance is like most stories, sweet but still pretty bland with nothing much to give. That's my take, it may differ for others.

If I put it in this perspective, ignoring the villainess and solely focus of the FL, then I'd say that its more of a heartwarming story of moving forward and seeing what's beautiful in her current life than the previous one. It's a healing journey for her, at her own pace, and for herself alone. That's why in the end I loved the FL even if the story was lacking with most of everything I usually would like.

Yes, I like both Marianne and Aisha. <<less

I'm up to date with the manwha, and it's honestly a pretty good story. I would say it focuses more on the MC's journey to heal and become happy rather than on the revenge plot (although the revenge is certainly part of healing from her trauma).

The MC is a kind-hearted, traumatized 14 year old girl who dies alone and betrayed. Naturally, it takes her a long time to trust her family, but once she does there's no holding back and she would do anything to protect them. I really like... more>> the focus on familial love, particularly the relationship between the MC and her brother, very wholesome stuff.

I have more to say but slight spoilers.

Spoiler

The villainess... I find her pretty boring. It's the typical fake usurping evil princess plot, not particularly innovative and I think it's a shame. I would've loved to see a more complex villain plot or at least something different (like a dark spiritist, the villainess being a puppet for a bigger power, or something like that).

[collapse]

The romance is not the focus so far, but it's there. The MC doesn't think a lot about any of the men in her new life aside from her brother, but pretty much all the significant male characters aside from her family end up with a crush on her. As for the real ML,
Spoiler

the spirit king of light, there's obviously a huge age gap, but so far it doesn't seem strange to me since he comes across as naive on human customs, he feels more like a friend and goal than anything

[collapse]
.

Anyways, good plot focused on MC development, and a relatively slow but consistent revenge plot. Not 5 stars because of mild annoyances for me, but it's good. <<less
