I like this particular genre hence my bingeing on all things BL Xianxia.

World building is good for this short story but there’s not too much fluff inside. Maybe the focus was world building & action > fluff between the leads so I’m a little disappointed.

Nevertheless, a solid 3.8!

There's not much to say except that I really liked it. It's short but fluffy and funny. Not only did the main pairing make my heart clench from multiple emotions (I somehow felt anxious too, as I was reading ;-;), so did the side pairing. Anyway, this was simply too cute and if given the chance, I might just read it again.

Thanks, and kudos to the translator for the translation and the beautiful fanart. It made reading feel a bit more vivid.

I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a quick read and is into transmigration and murim. It's not action-heavy and the story is more focused on the characters and their development. At first, it follows the typical 'transmigrated into a cannon fodder/ villain, I have to follow the character's behavior', however, it takes a turn. ;]

Overall, the plot progresses at a steady pace and the author covers most of the events and elements they introduced us, readers, to. The main characters are likable and they're so sweet. The comedy can be felt in this story, unlike some story that the comedy is so bland and tasteless. I think it's a wonderful read and it's kind of sad that it is as short as it is and that I have already read all the chapters (This is one of the stories that is fulfilling to read, it doesn't leave me unsatisfied).

as the author herself said at the end of the text: there are some events that happen very quickly and some things that are not well detailed. While reading it you can see that it was written as something casual, and therefore it is great as a casual read! Anyway, it was a great read that accompanied me during the bus ride (round trip) and I couldn't stop until late at night.

For 29 chapters (+ extras), it's like really good. I do recommend it. And I will be reading it again.

Have read this quite a bit ago, so I did forget some things. Based on what I can remember and skimming through the second half to freshen my memory of the events that took place, I can say that...

• The translation team knocked this out of the park.
• Good start! Good way to end the story!
• Had a satisfactory story flow.
• No flowery writing.
• Easy to read.
• Not rushed & boring at any point IMO.
• IIRC, the side couple is also quite cute.*

The author could have just not given us that pairing, but they did and I am thankful for that. I feel like a lot of authors tease some pairing possibilities in the main story, but they don't even give us 1 chapter where we can see something happening between them. It might become one of my pet peeves soon if I keep stumbling upon such novels.

Thankfully, this wasn't the case at all here.

About the characters:

• Had a witty & reasonable & caring (for ML) main character. That ALSO is quick to accept ML's feelings!
• The main love interest was sweet & slightly twisted, he reminded me (specifically in the second half of the story) of a big puppy that doesn't realize how big it is and still wants to sit in your lap.

About them together:

• They are cute & sweet.
• Quite a green couple IMHO; especially compared to other works I have read that promised green relationships but gave me beige with red stripes.
• They are both devoted to each other and have a balanced relationship, where both give - take where they can (not in the bedroom though) .
• MC understands ML really well later on, empathizes with him, cares about him, and thus ML's actions, even though they might come across as extreme, in MC's eyes are acceptable. He knows ML acts the way he does later on because of his insecurities and proceeds to reassures ML through his actions & words that he (ML) has nothing to fear.

A super short and sweet novel that doesn't feature a lot of angst!

It's only 29 chapters so there are still some loose-ends and it is quite fast paced but it still brings charm to the novel!

I loved seeing the interactions between Zhong Yan and the system and also Zhong Yan and Gu Xuanyan, they care for each other a lot and it's a very sweet relationship that they have!

Story is pretty straightforward with not much twist going on. I think what's nice was that the s*x is with consent. Not much character growth but this is pretty short so it's fine really. It really does have that cultivation vibe going on. Although one plot does make me a bit well confused like the climax battle. I won't go into details why but I feel it's a bit off. But the ending is alright.
