MLs death is so heart breaking. In his first death, he died quietly infront of MC. On his second death, he doesnt want to die cause he knew MC will be sad. He made a promise to return. ML died with eyes open.

There is also a passerby couple (both male) makes me cry. Before war ML saw a guy kissed other guy in the forehead. When ML asked them, the guy said that since they are going to war there is high probability for them to die. Guy1 said that if they manage to survice he will propose to guy2. Two days after, ML no longer see guy1 but guy2 was in a corner silently crying while eating a steambun. Two days after ML no longer see guy2. I cried so much on that short scene.

I also feel sad for Xiao Jie and Xi Rong. Sigh... These two half brothers. If only Xi Rong obeyed the agreement he have with MC, MC will not make a move against them. Since XR betrayed them and cause the soldiers death and MLs, MC took revenge. XJ is a naive kid he really trust XR and will protect him at all cost. Sigh.. When XR was beheaded infront of XJ, XR last words was "dont look AJie", XJ went crazy. Im just glad that MC made a medicine to make him forget. Sigh...

I found this novel during its early translation release... tried to MTL but kinda hurt my brain so I waited until there are more chapters translated. Kudos to the translator for the hard work!

This novel is just so perfect... I love the dynamic between MC & ML. And ML is so hilarious!!!! I cannnttttt he is so salted fish a.k.a lazy bag bones who only want to sleep all day long yet he just had to transmigrate into important characters... sigh. And the idea of using ML (instead of MC)... more>> as the transmigrated character adds more fun!

MC's character development is just *chef kiss* nice. He is smart, beautiful, cunning, ruthless, but not dense. He is quick to realize his feelings (despite this novel being slow romance...). Behind his cold mask, there is curiosity and clinginess inside him. Him and ML is such a cute partner in crime: (

This story surprised me, really.. By the summary and the title, I tough it would more lighthearted, but it made me cry more than once, even when I knew tragedy was about to come, it was still heartbreaking.

I also really, really like that we have this poisonous couple as MCs LOL and their interactions are so good..

I laughed, cryed, cursed, so yeah... Great story!!!!

This novel deserves 4.8 stars. I can't think anything to complain except that I wish their third time/marriage were told longer. I just don't want this book to end, I don't want to part with them.

Maybe to some, it's a bit slow burn, but compared to real slow-burn, this book doesn't feel like it at all. Just remember that this is slice-of-life before palace/political intrigue, and real good supportive romantical relationship need time to build.

Then, to some, the main characters might be too scheming and villainous, but remember that it's... more>> always the other party who attacked/harmed them first, and being naive/ignorant doesn't exempt one from taking responsibility for themselves or for their subordinate. That's just how the culture in this setting works. It's cruel, but our MC and ML also wouldn't be exempted if they were the one who made the same mistake.

However I did think that they're a bit meanie to Sheng Huashi (original MC) at first, but Lin Qingyu would slowly warmed up to him because that's just how good and loyal Sheng Huashi is.

However if you are someone who can only like white lotus, naive, innocent shou, and a couple who can only whisper sweet-nothing and be flirty 24+ hours, then this is obviously not for you (and that the type of story I don't like much, no surprise).

Ah, lastly, some stuff here can be called face-slapping, but most revenge were done by scheming in the background. Nevertheless they are all very satisfying.

P.S.: At this point let's agree that everyone will cry especially at one particular scene. You will know it when you read it. I don't remember ever cry like this for a danmei book, and probably because it is really well written with really good build-up. Anyway it's just so good! <<less

Literally cried when lu wenchang died and didn't even managed to see lqy wearing bridal robes for him.

I feel so conflicted towards Ling Qingyu. Ofc, ML is my sweet child (especially his first arc as lu wenchang, my cute lazy salted fish).

There's one thing that's missing from the experience of reading transmigration story if the pov isn't from the transmigrator, is that the transmigrator's inner thoughts and struggle with how they come to terms and deals with their current situations are omitted, which eliminate that fun.

Because if you think transmigrator are already OP from their POV, then they're even more godly OP from outside perspective without the fun of reading their inner struggle.

This story is from the shou pov who is the local of the world while the gong is... more>> the transmigrator. It was a cute read. Nothing too serious as character developments is kind of there but not deep, Politics is shallow, and side/support characters are interesting but forgettable. The few angst moments was included to break away from the comedic undertones, but what comes after is so predictable that it's hard to get affected by it.

Both MC and ML have normal and lovable family background. ML just have the unfortunate luck to died from his original world. MC is simply a person who holds grudges and will exact revenge on those that gets on his nerves and wrong him the slightest (ie. Force him to do things out of his own freewill due to rules he can't disobey).

In conclusion, if you're looking for serious and thought invoking deep story, this one won't give you that. However, if you're looking for a relaxed read to pass time, this story will give you that. <<less

I really liked the characters and interesting dynamics between them. The story is very good and I wouldn't say the plot itself is too heavy, but rather the author's descriptions which make you emotional. I don't like romance stories with the emperor because they usually involve competitive family members, strained relationships, struggle with harem, and a lot of politics. But this story didn't start off with ML as the emperor so I gave it a try.

I like how the author paced the plot so that we can see how... more>> the relationship is developed, without feeling too rushed or too boring. It was a good balance of fluff, angst, and plot.

I did get a bit bored at a few times but the plot picked up and it became interesting again. But I do wish the author wrote about Xiao Cheng. Like it is hinted that he is still alive, but we don't know what finally happened. Also I wanted to know about the secret behind Xu Junyuan. Like why he helped the ML, and did he actually know the original plot. The extras were very cute though and it's nice to see Shen Huaishi more active and considering MC as a friend. <<less

Great, entertaining story!! Easy to read, definitely a page-turner.

I love the main relationship is healthy, big on consent, and their bantering is really fun. I love that they are unrestrained in private, in the presence of each other.

MC is a great beauty who schemes and takes revenge against any slight. ML is charming and fun. I like the ML more, he’s easy to like. The MC can be a bit dark at times, like I don’t get how he can easily hates when he’s grown up in a loving family?!... more>> The way he used certain people didn’t sit right with me.

It won’t be a re-read for savoring. But it is a very fun and interesting read! Very pleasant surprise! I’d definitely recommend it! <<less

Really love this. The ML for one is truly sweet and love MC no matter what. Supporting, loving, sweet always coaxing. Lol. Thou feel ML abit op for his age. But well, he’s nice to read. MC a villain beauty? Lol. Actually I feel he’s normal. He was force by circumstance, he’s ambitious, and he got the means to scheme and revenge himself. Why not retaliate it. It’s normal reaction.
Theres alot of funny moments, dramas, but also so bittersweet and heartbreaking moments

The only thing I feel bit not fulfilled, were the side character cps. Yes there’s afew, even the “protagonist “, they we plots for them but afterwards there’s only mention and then nothing. Even some passerby cp was written then they fade. Some characters, villains also only later on just mentioned, afterwards what happened to them, just leave it to imagination. Overall author focus on the the mains, the sides just only plot driven, and its just author style I guess.
The whole book is about the main cp, sweet, coaxing wife, journey from different bodies (arcs), and I love the extras! A modern arc fan service! Thank you translator for great translation.A good read that I really enjoyed. Thank you

one thing I don’t understand is why the crown Prince got a second chance (tho it’s barely hinted and def not a happy ever after) when the rong/Jie duo got such a tragic ending. I think they deserved punishment for sure for their actions, but rong/jie were genuine towards each other and it hurt so much that rong’s last words were for jie to look away as he died. Also, the sudden appearance and death of those two men in the army who loved each other, but died so soon.

This is the kind of novel that makes me regret giving too many other novels 5 stars. Unforgettable ML and MC and chemistry, with not too cartoonish a supporting cast. This is not all fluff though: some emotional will hit you right in the guts.

a very cute, but also tragic, love story between a transmigrator and a great beauty who loves to poison. There's a happy ending so all is well 😁

lots of drama and satisfying revenge, there was absolutely nothing that I would change or ask for.

This is really a hidden gem. I love this novel so much. I love the characters and how everyone is so unique and refreshing. The writing style is excellent, sometime poetic in style with era of the story. Reading this make us feels so much in love (and sometimes feels so single too). Great plot, nice politics & scheming.

Also, kudos to excellent translation at CG. I love how some honorific and titles are kept as the way it is, as I always wonder what is actually Duke or Marquis in... more>> ancient China setting. <<less

Good, enjoyable read. Although the intro took away some of the surprise, there was still a feeling of anticipation while reading. I felt a lil liking towards the MC, Lin Qingyu, but really liked the ML.

Overall the pace of the plot was fine but the romance was slower than expected.

MC is a genius who wants to be a doctor. However, before he could take the necessary examination, he was forced by imperial decree to marry and become a male wife.

ML is a modern man who transmigrated into the novel and becomes MC's husband, Lu Wancheng. He is straight and so is MC, so their relationship starts off like friends.

SPOILERS... of ML identities

1st transmigration - Lu Wancheng, eldest son of Nan'an Hou. ML was sickly and died due to illness.

2nd transmigration - Gu Fuzhou, general (God of War). They married again to prevent the emperor from forcing MC into his harem. ML died in battle.

3rd transmigration - Xiao Li, prince (son of Emperor and Empress). Supposedly, ML's soul was bouncing around because he was originally XL's soul that was lost. XL was living as a mentally ill person until ML's soul returned to his body. MC and ML married due to love.

Modern day - Jiang Xing, 17 year old high school student.

This was absolutely amazing, everything was consensual, the characters were human in terms of emotions and the cute extras was everything!

The best part of this novel was the feeling everything was falling in its place from the beginning to the end, the flow was great and it didn't feel like 140+ chapters at all.

I really enjoyed this one! The banter was magnificent and the UST was off the charts. I do like me a villainious MC who has the integrity to differentiate between a deeply personal mu*der in revenge for blood offenses and the abuse/massacre of good men -- which is precisely what his opponents don't have, no matter how they think MC is just as bad or worse than they are. And the extras are fluffy and healing. I'll be reading it again in a few years and I'm sure I'll enjoy... more>> it just as much as before. A very solid 5 stars. <<less
