Liam Sera Banfield is a reincarnator.

He had reincarnated into a fantasy world of magic and swords, but at the time the civilization had already been making advancements into outer space.

The setting takes place in an intergalactic empire, a space opera-like universe where humanoid weapons and spaceships battle.

Liam, who had been reborn into an aristocratic family in a monarchic society, has the ambition to one day become an evil lord.

In his previous life, Liam had unfortunately lost everything and died in despair.

— It’s foolish to live for others.

— I will live for myself.

Keeping those feelings in his heart, he has decided to fulfill his goal, but is instead worshipped as a virtuous ruler due to his difference in values.

Will Liam be able to become an evil lord?

The manga is enjoyable though I'm not gonna give 5 stars because I have no specific reason for liking it I don't want raise people's expectation and betrayed by my review but if you think it's bad but it ended up a good read then that's better. So basically the MC is extremely lucky, pretty dense too, harworking and overpowered. It's funny and satisfying to read for a simple story there's nothing to think hard about there's a lot of cool stuff too

It is about an OP main character who reincarnated to an already advanced civilization so his past knowledge doesn't make him special, which is a bit of Distinction from other reincarnation novels. And he also didn't talk or read when he was just a new born (Thanks author. Those self-reliant babies scare me) since he remembered his past life when he was 5 or he transmigated, I'm not sure but it would be a bit strange if he had just trown out the previous owner so I wouldn't pick the... more>> latter. It was a fun novel but it is obvious that Romance is not the author's forte. Most of the girls are fickle and even some were only written for comic relief. That was the only annoying part for me. Why write a novel where women are allowed military and business success when they were only taken as a joke.? Atleast, there should be one girl character who would heal him from his past aside from the android which practically raised him. Let's be honest, it is too unrealistic to make a robot with feelings unless it is originally a human. Also, The MC's presumably thing to his android nanny makes me uncomfortable since, although a robot, she's the one who raised him. I know he was an adult inside but she's obviously a mother-figure to him, noticing how he gets rprimanded by her from time to time.

If you could overlook some misogynistic details and other minor things, I think you would enjoy this too. I'm very generous with my rating. If I could read a novel continuosly until the last chapter without getting irked or bored-to-death, I usually give 5.

Just the part I'm a bit disappointed is the lack of varieties of species. There are no mention of animals aside from dogs he had from his previous life. And for a magic and science themed structure, it is a bit underwhelming not to see elves, dwarves.. Ecc. And especially, ALIENS!!!! I wish, atleast his butler could have been a tentacled monster. That would be dope. <<less

I love this one that I'm forced to read the raws. I just love the development where it gets chaotic then the MC will solved the problem in one swoop. The misunderstandings adds a lot of flavor to the story, the MC is interesting, same with other characters. But this one is lacking romance and harem if your looking for one. Though its true that the MC have fiancee, but there's no lovey-dovey development among them. Liam just love Amagi too much, but considering that they are lord and android,... more>> there's also no development at that part, and I'm talking about until the end of volume 8. I guess it's cool that there are schemes, and battles here, but this is where I miss those bastard MC who collects girls like a pokemon. In summary, this one always have an exciting development but missing just one thing I like. <<less

Generally this novel is very light hearted and fun, the plot and world building should not be taken seriously AT ALL. This is simply s*upidly hilarious misunderstandings manga, I usually don't like misunderstandings in serious romance novels but if used in comedy, I love it.

This is VERY similar to "To Be a Power in the Shadows", so if you like that, then this you will love.

P.S. DO NOT TAKE THE PLOT AND BACKSTORY SERIOUSLY, IF YOU COME IN EXPECTING A RICH PLOT AND INTERESTING WORLD WITH COMPLEX CHARACTERS THEN STOP... more>> NOW <<less

The first volume was good but it got worse as it continued. The MC became even more of an idiot compared to before when I could still accept it as comic relief. The maids and knights are constantly offering themselves to him because he saved their lives and the main antagonist is powerless. The MC has already defeated him pretty much and the novel is just dragging on and on. It's fine if you just read the first volume as a separate novel on its own though.

4 stars I cant seem to change the star rating for some reason

I enjoy it, I love the humor and the plotlines. No volume has been boring so far. The main character has ptsd for sure and has somehow deluded himself into thinking he is an actual villain but his moments of strict kindness belies the fact that although he is now meaner his true nature still reveals itself. The harem tag is a nonissue, the side characters arent as developed as I would like but still essential and meaningful.

The... more>> translator is good but very unreliable. Expect it to remain a hostage or be dropped unexpectedly until the sloth comes back again with a new account or page or whatever. If nothing else though he has good taste in webnovel stories. <<less

Sci-fi isekai is surprisingly a rare genre, so that alone makes this worth checking out. Be warned though, this story is 95% "misunderstandings" humor that follows a strict formula which never changes. The other 5% is Space battles, politics, and planetary development which is all kinda of cool.

The sci-fi setting really carries the story cause each volume is literally the same structure with no deviations. I don't recommend binge reading this cause it will get boring. I still generally like this series, but don't get your hopes up b/c of... more>> the high rating. It's not that good. <<less

So folks first things first IGNORE THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS they have been given by people who have either totally misunderstood or simply dislike the type of story this is, it is not some sweeping space opera like legend of galactic heroes it is a comedy.

As for the story itself it is certainly entertaining to read, I have enjoyed the characters introduced and their interactions in the world that has been built around them.

The story itself is essentially the protagonist succeeding due to his misinterpretations and the complete overeactions and estimations... more>> of the world around him the.... villain? (Victim) in this story is essentially an interdimentional wile e coyote who ends up hurting himself more than anyone else.

Don't worry about a typical isekai harem plot unfolding since or boy isn't interested in that, he wants to be the villain and is to busy failing at that.

In summary read it and have a little giggle at the absurdity of the universe. <<less

I don't really understand a lot of the negative reviews here complaining about plot armor and the protagonist being lucky. That's literally the point of the story and what makes it funny. Are the villains s*upid and is the main character a moron? Sure, but this is a comedy story, folks. It isn't meant to be taken seriously.

It's not trying to be Lord of the Rings or Mushoku Tensei here. Just read it for the laughs, enjoy it for what it is, and move on. I personally thought it was... more>> hilarious, but I also enjoy a good old fashioned misunderstanding story like 'To Be a Power is the Shadows' and 'Angel Densetsu' so take my opinion with a grain of salt. <<less

If you search for some serious novel with great plot, this isn't for you, this novel plot is crappy and has many hole in it,

I give it four because it do it is job for light reading, but not in the level I will anticipatedly wait for new chapter, it is good if you want to switching atmosphere after hardwork but no if you want to get serious reading

It is simple but fun to read

This is an OP fantasy-ish/sci-fi-ish comedy series. It's only comedy. Although action is present, it's not written out or described in a manner that could even be considered somewhat exciting. If you write a great battle in space and make it boring to read, then something is wrong. This comedy is based on MISUNDERSTANDINGS and weird delusions. It's just constant unreasonable and unjustifiable misunderstandings to the point of becoming obnoxious. Even when he learns that his target really was a criminal, the MC believes that person was a hero, even... more>> when all evidence points to the contrary. Over time, the misunderstandings are exhaustively annoying--four volumes later, they are still going strong. At the end of each chapter, the butler makes an irritating comment about pain. Unfortunately, this comment is at the end and right next to the next chapter button, so the page won't change before I automatically read it.

Pure comedy series are often hit or miss depending on which individual you talk to, and this one is definitely a "miss" for me.

There are a lot of genre tags I don't understand on here, and I'm caught up with the novels currently released. The action is minimal and weak, so it doesn't deserve an action tag. Adventure? When does that happen? The MC is either in his mansion, at school, working, or on a ship. There is no adventure, there are no details, and there is no imagery. A great way to make this come to life would be to elaborate on the details of each planet they're developing as well as the native life forms. Instead, this critical element is completely neglected. There is no drama--there is just an OP protagonist being OP and lucky. Supposedly this is fantasy and sci-fi, but no descriptions are given about the technology, aliens, or evolution. Although magic is mentioned and plays an important role in how OP the protagonist is, no magic system is detailed or described, and it acts like a footnote just to make the MC more OP than he already is. Sure, it might be mecha, but the battle scenes and fights are so weak, it's a pitiful example that goes so far as to even insult the genre. There isn't even the remotest sense of suspense given off.

Somehow, harem and romance got listed as genres, too. There is no harem. The MC keeps saying he wants one, but he stays very true to his fiancee and can't feel attracted to most women. You know that fiancee? There is no romance either.

Even though an evil lord is mentioned in the title, the MC shows no signs of being a villain or an evil-doer.

The only genre this series really goes with is comedy. If you're looking for a series with any qualities other than comedy, then don't read this one.

World-building? Nonexistent. Character depth? Nonexistent. Character development? Minimal. Likeable characters? None. Plot? Nonexistent.

Unless the comedy here really tickles your fancy, I can't recommend this series to anyone. <<less

This story starts out dark but it becomes a kind of slice of life with a mary sue main character with extra ordinary luck.

He does gets his fair share of killings and people shaming..

Although its somewhat shallow and have many unexplainable flaw, it do a quite good job if you just wanna sit back and enjoy an OP MC doing whatever he wants in a futuristic world.

... more>> You just need to turn off your brain a bit to ignore most of the flaws that floats around reading it.

Its a standard mary sue story. <<less

The whole plot revolves around misunderstandings and god like levels of luck.
In a way it's similar to "To Be A Power in the Shadows" except, in my opinion, the MC is not quite as oblivious and, again in my opinion, the main storyline isn't negatively affected by the misunderstandings. The "plot armor" and "luck" are features not bugs.

To be honest the initial prologue sets a dark tone and certain expectations for the rest of series. If you ignore those expectations and go into it while understanding the series is a comedy where all the gags revolve around: 1. The MC having no clue how to be an evil lord 2. Everyone misunderstanding the mc's intentions 3. The MC misunderstanding his "guide", you will likely enjoy this series.

This is a unique novel that moves very fast, very straight, and very simple, and still managed to hold up nicely!

It's very engaging and entertaining to read, and I love this. There are other great novels that move slowly, but an ultra fast paced, time skipping novel is epic too!

Its a waste of time. Now, thats not necessarily a bad thing, all novels are in my opinion, however, some can leave you with a sense of satisfaction, while others leave you feeling bored. 2 stars may seem harsh but it's definitely closer to 2 than it is three. You get a lot of people that read slapstick sh*t like this and claim they're too smart to enjoy it, maybe they are, but honestly, I feel there is nothing wrong with enjoying something even if you recognise that it's objectively... more>> bad. The author seemed to have fun writing this, and many people seemed to enjoy reading it. If you are looking to while away your finite time before the grave, then this is a perfectly fine choice, though there are better options out there, at least for me. <<less

This is actually very interesting and funny to read.

In summary, the story is based on misunderstandings piling on top of the others which eventually leads to incongruous situations. The best example I could think of, would be "The Eminence in Shadows"; minus the chuunibyou part. Of course, the main character hones himself and eventually becomes OP as the story progresses, but it wouldn’t be amusing otherwise, right ?

Another point I wanted to talk about was the comment section. I read a lot of people were disappointed in the fact that... more>> the MC wasn’t actually EVIL, which is true. Well, I do believe you have rights to be disappointed if you wanted to read a story that was about an antagonist (since it’s not exactly the case) but you cannot call this tr*sh just because it wasn’t up to your standards. The writing/translation is pretty decent, and the story progression is steady. The only down part is that the characters are maybe too straightforward, they stick to their one personality trait without anything in 3D you know, it’s like everyone is revolving around the MC. But then again, if you take into consideration the fact that the whole story is based on misunderstandings and it’s much like a gag-Novel, it’s not that bad of a trait.

TLDR, people in the comment section are immensely underrating this Novel and it pretty much doesn’t deserve so much hate, it’s really decent with actual storyline. <<less

Exceptional.. It's simply the best kind of story if you are looking for misunderstandings. Even better than to be a power in the shadows where you get a psychotic MC. The only part that could've been better would be the introduction of the guide and the blind faith the MC has in him.

The author could've made it more believable by giving more reasons for this blind faith rather than making the MC look ret*rded. His misunderstandings in other situations are also getting a bit too ridiculous, he has been there... more>> in that world for decades and still hasn't grasped the basic common sense.
He still hasn't figured out that his master is a fraud and there is no real reason for that.

But the novel is very much enjoyable despite these shortcomings, the interactions are portrayed well and the world building itself isn't sloppy.

So I think it deserves the 5 star rating I give it, especially considering how s*upid the usual isekai novels are. <<less

This story is a genuine disappointment. It had an interesting premise, setting and villain, and just went downhill from that. The MC had no character development, at all. He never learned to be a better person, but he never went off the deep end and became a villain either. He was just kinda stuck there as some sort of chuuni killing people with robots, and this attitude never bit him in the arse because his subordinates are literally the most competent people ever and he valued their judgements despite never... more>> having any real emotional moment with any of them.

MC is the archetypal OP main character. The problem is with other OP MCs their authors compensated lack of any serious fights with comedic undertones, dramatic subplots and/or interpersonal dynamics; things that never appeared in this series. <<less

I gave it a shot and really tried to stick it out. The main character is just unlikeable in so many ways so I’m dropping.

The translation is decent and earned the stars I gave. I’d give more but it’s the story itself that is lacking. The other reviews are correct. One dimensional characters. No character build up, back story or anything other than random character worships MC. The description of the world is non existent. The plot armour is the thickest I’ve seen and I’ve read a lot. The events... more>> are brief and quickly resolved.

In short... don’t come thinking you’re going to find any character you’ll get attached to or a world you can immerse yourself in. This is brainless fodder you can read while waiting for an appointment. You won’t be so involved you’ll miss when you get called. <<less
