I Was Caught up in a Hero Summoning, but That World Is at Peace

Description

It all happened so abruptly. After finally grasping my situation, I found myself in an entirely different world. Looking around, I noticed others in the same predicament… Could this possibly be one of those Hero developments?

Was there a tyrannical Demon Lord needing extermination, or would I be tossed into the maelstrom of war? Whatever it was, I was afraid. I never wanted to be a Hero. I don’t want to harm another…… Ignore the nonsense I was spouting; there was nothing to fret over.

The Demon Lord was slain a thousand years ago, and 800 years had passed since the last war. The nobles didn’t treat us summoned like tr*sh; instead, we were kindly cared for. The Demons have been on good terms with Humans for some time now. Dangers, such as monsters, were being taken care of by the Guild and the Order of Knights. What’s more surprising is the fact that I wasn’t even a hero! Instead, I was unintentionally summoned!

It also turns out that this world was a world in which the three races, the Spirit World’s Magical Races, the Celestial World’s Divine Races, and the Mortal World’s Human Races, are kind neighbours. Here, everyone lives a peaceful and fulfilling life.

In summary, this other world was――at peace.

What’s my plan for the future? For my limited stay here, I will live this world to its fullest; going on a cultural exchange, sightseeing, then, after experiencing the festival that is only held once every ten years, …… I shall safely return home.

However, despite my lust for a peaceful last year before returning, this planet’s heavyweights have begun amassing around me, and……

569 Chapters and you got story about 6 months from the starting point. This is basically the sugar coating story. A lot foreshadow, if author note get translated XD.

Harem? Yes.
Polygamy? Not Yet.
Heroine? All Badass.
Sugar? Overpowered.
Drama? Just for backstory.

This story can be shortened with a quote from Luna.

"Iya~, As expected from Miyama-sama! Demon, God, Human, The ability to engage without betraying hope, amazing. Popular men indeed different. Where will it happen next?. Isn't it already time to be involved with other worlds??"

The story is "interesting", but not much more. I enjoyed the early parts and liked some of the characters and their interactions. Heck, I'd even say much of the story is a fun read. The drama isn't too bad or anything... I just have one big pet peeve about this story.

I find the MC's accidental harem-building to be absolutely contrived nonsense.

I know a lot of NU readers look for that sort of thing, but I find this story pushes things too far for me. I was willing to buy one... more>> or two characters finding the absolutely boring MC "interesting" because of their personality quirks, but at the current rate the story is going, every single girl has some contrived inexplicable reason for finding the MC "interesting" and attractive, despite him being objectively unremarkable, and described as bland.

I really wouldn't have minded if the whole story was basically "Playing around in another world with my OP demon waifu", but the harem aspect has become distracting enough that it's annoying, and has no reason to be there. In fact, the main thing I likes about this story is Kuro, the first girl, whereas the MC has the personality of a brick. So yeah, a harem the focuses on this cardboard-tasting MC picking up girls? Super bad call. <<less

My main issue is that I think the title would be more accurate if it was: Playing around in another world, My demon waifu is OP!!! The main character has had the personality of a brick, and I'm not particularly interested in his "I'm not special, but I'm special." journey through whateverland. Leaving at chapter 18 is basically leaving when the story starts, but it's also 18 chapters so maybe make some interesting content already? I get the feeling that it's not going to be anything you haven't seen before... more>> if you're well read, but seems like a decent story if not. <<less

This is truly a gold mine! It's rare that an isekai have a quite delicate balance like this between the usual cliches, perks and tropes.

Let's see~
Spoiler

+ Comedy? Yes, absolutely. Tsukkomis are plenty.
+ Drama? Mainly as the background, mind you.
+ OPness? Kind of, technically.
+ Romance? It's there; light but fully sugar-coated.
+ Uniqueness? Another world totally at peace, side-char 'hero''s main job as parade figure, quirky FLs, etc.
+ Progression? Surely slow, but never felt like it was painful to read.

Definitely worth the shot.

The novel is kind of heroine capture novel... All of the heroines have their own personality and darkness... The novel is written really good... Although the MC is a powerless person, he has high emotion reading capabilities and faces every trial properly with the help of others...

For the heroines, at first I really liked Kuro, but later Alice and Shiro became more prominent... And of course Isis is the best...

This is a novel where mc's greatest skill is being able to breath and existing, he is so good at it that all kinds of gods, demons, and various species can't help but to fall in love with him.

Novel has some decent female characters, and sometimes you can see some sort of potential but it ultimately gets nowhere. It's not adventure, unless by adventure you mean MC being dragged around in a protective bubble by some op goddess who explains what's what.

It's not slice of life unless by slice of... more>> life you mean repeating same sh*t over and over again.

As a comedy it seems ok in begining, until same boring joke keeps on getting rehashed to a point you desperately scream "no more". And when you feel like it might get somewhere funny author seems to cut it short so he can get back to same old boring overmilked shit.

It's not even romance, unless by romance is reading how characters fawn over MC for no reason other than him being alive and him just agreeing to them left and right becoming his lovers cause it's another world.

I swear i've seen and enjoyed some tr*sh sh*t like nonbiri nouka or smartphone but this ? This despite having some inklings of a potential is beyond me. MC has a personality of a fossilized vegetable. He's there, but I have no idea why, aside from getting chicks that drop from heavens on him.

Honestly I feel like it could've had potential, however ultimately it lands in my total tr*sh list ;/ <<less

Man, if I am the author of this series, I won't pick such a long name. I'll just call this "Best Waifu (s) Simulator"

Like, seriously. Every love interest in this series have such a big heroine aura that it won't be weird for any of them to be the main heroine in other normal harem / romance series. Everyone is best girl, but this one called Isis really deserved to be called the most bestest heroine of all time. Trust me.

No over-drama, no hard-politics. Full fuwa-fuwa. Very nice

Overall, I think... more>> this is one of the best novel you can read if you're looking for stress-reliever, like me.

It's very obvious this is a serialized novel with an author who listens to reviews - there are questions that pop up that bother me about various things that get answered soon after (past the point where they should have been answered or at least foreshadowed) as if people had been bugging the author about it so he came up with a response to solve it. This is a good thing! But.

Every time he gets some fanservice from one of his girlfriends and thinks "this is bad!" I just facepalm.... more>> There were times early on I could accept it, but by this point he should either be used to it enough to not panic while calming himself down, or he should accept that there's no conceivable bad consequence of, ahem, advancing his relationships. When I finally found out the reason he was holding back, I had to stop reading.

Anyway, aside from the hundred chapters of mixed bathing with the protagonist going "it's such a terrible thing to see the woman I plan to spend the rest of my life with naked", it's okay. There are things you should know going into it:

  • It's a reversal world with fewer men than women.
  • Every heroine is easy.
  • Everything is easy.
  • Protagonist is not strong.
  • Protagonist is super insecure.
  • The main is slice of life with everyone babying the protagonist and doing whatever they can to make him happy.
  • There's an extreme form of the typical jp protagonist "being horny is bad".
100 chapters ago I would have recommended it as a relaxing "healing" read, but it's seriously been way too many mixed bathing scenes. In general the plot and character developments have been well-structured but as the story progresses there's more and more filler and fanservice. It would be fine if it was R18 style, but it's not, so the protagonist just looks more pathetic each time until I dropped it. <<less

Maybe you think MC is so weak... It's true. He is so week on battle. But it's different with his heart. In my opinion his heart so strong than Hero in most another novel. He reject offer (Super power that can make him do anything he like. Super Wealth that over anyone. Intellegent that can touch true universal) from goddes of creation. He have great charisma that can make human, demon, god to be his ally/comrade. Maybe average person see he is general person, but to them who have strong... more>> power and top on the world he is "Special". He can make them who top on the world respect him, love him, friendly to him, follow him because his action. He able to stand before them (king of war, king of death, dragon king) even with trembling feet but his eyes staring straight at theirs. Sakai-O said that if king of death aura can make anyone stay away from her, his aura can make anyone to approach him. By the way his skill is:

Spoiler

Sensitive magic: can make him on first awakening magic to weather forecasting, reading atmosphere from magic, little understand animal, etc.

God of creation's bless: unlimited lifespan, contain all of God'bless.

Heart power (the memories) (from Alice's world) : as I recall, he can reawakening his person who dead but there are conditions.

[collapse]

The story' is beautiful... It's contains sweet that can make anyone diabet :v. It contains comedy that can make you laught from your heart. it contains seriousness that makes your heart tight. It contains sadness that makes your eyes moist.

Most person said that story' is Loly everywhere. Not all. Main Heroines have different character.

The point is story very good to read for sweets and slice of life lover <<less

It's not for me. MC is a cliched shounen extremely goodhearted MC that has the power of friendship, and he's annoying in how extremely nice he is, even in situations that he should get annoyed, for example:

chapter 85~ spoilers
... more>>
Spoiler

he gets attacked by a black bear because they (the otheworlders) are left without protection, because the guard that should protect them left them alone, to protect the lady. First this premisse is dumb, if it was that dangerous they should bring more people from the start and not leave weak people from another world alone even in a suposedly safe zone in a place that they know nothing. And the MC gets seriously hurt and if it was not due to the goddess protection he would have died, and he get's pissed not because they are left alone without protection and there's a breach of security, he gets pissed because the duchess blames herself for MC injury (and she should have) the author creates something absurd to excuse her responsability, like sure its the monsters fault, but its her responsability as a leader to give protection and she failed (in this situation its more due to the guard disobediance but she's responsible for the fault of the servants) its like the mayor of a town takes the police out of a region of the city and criminals start to loot, sure thats due to the criminals, but the mayor has responsability to give protection and he would get fired and imprisoned, the author twists the responsability somehow. And to makes things worse the monster that almost killed him becomes his servant and starts to love MC. Sigh....

[collapse]

Also its extremely annoying that everytime he demeans himself, and praises the others, and how dense he's, and every female on earth loves MC. <<less

I like the start but to be honest it just gets to boring after awhile since it just feels like the author is using the same plot points just different girl and settings a lot, while continuedly adding to the harem bogging down the pacing (since the author now has to add their arc with said repeating story arc) and overall it just feels at this point he is trying to hit every character archetype down to the variants with all the girls just happening to want to get in... more>> the cardboard cutout MC's pants (I know this ends up being the case in a lot of long running harem things but I just feel that instead of quantity it should be quality, not Pokemon:Waifu Edition). Another problem is its just so hard to see the MC as interesting as said before he has a very bland personality plus the fact is he is just keep artificially as a dense harem protag since his ability is to literally read emotions it just seems like they could pull a spin on it or something it just doesn't make sense, he should just be able to just see that the girls like him without being told to his face in clear words. After awhile unlike a lot of the competition there are too few good breaks from the kind of frankly boring harem stuff to keep you engaged and motivated to continue, so the feeling of disinterest just starts to grow till you want to drop it. Don't get me wrong its an ok read it just isn't something I would say I would read in large amounts in a short amount of time and if you enjoy it all the power to you it just isn't for me and sorry about ranting <<less

If you are here for super power MC, roflstomping everything, single minded heroines and Japanese culinary supremacy; you are in the wrong novel. (Im looking at you, Death March)

This novel is the very definition of young adult, male fantasy, sugar chocolate cake. And I love it

Our MC is fleshed out, his life experiences makes his denseness realistic; thats why our heroines actually tell to him straight how they are feeling and what they want from him. He takes actions that make sense, knows his strengths and weaknesses and actually... more>> grows as a human being.

Our heroines are consistent in their personalities. No jumping around in how they are acting chapter by chapter just to serve a gimmick. And they do grow with our MC.

The world is slowly getting filled with different locations being mentioned and explored, dark secrets and deeds are mentioned in passing to give it that reality. Nothing is perfect even in a peaceful world. But we are following our MC who is not that deep into the underbellies of this world.

If you are missing some sugar in your life and want to fulfill it with realistic characters in a different world, give this novel a try. <<less

(THIS IS A RE-EDIT OF MY REVIEW WHICH I RATED 5 STARS WHEN I WAS STILL AT 300+ CHAPTERS)

I liked it at first but gradually it became shit. Author has a severe case of pedophilia and it clearly reflects in his writing which is really annoying.

The harem doesn't make any sense since basically all MC does is be nice to them and voila! Instant heart for the heroine because apparently no one has ever been that nice to them until MC treated them as such. Too many characters... more>> resulting in cardboard cutout personalities because all they do is praise him like a parrot or that he is someone amazing even though he can't do sh*t but act like an idiot flustering over the slightest skin contact wtf

I get that this is a slice of life but it's not interesting when after 500+ chapters we still get the same old reactions, same old jokes, and character reveals that for some reason already love the MC (wtf). All MC knows is acting like a s*upid kid which can make you cringe considering he is a college student.

Either way, this is my review and I don't feel entitled to give an objective opinion just because I read it. People can read what they want and give criticisms because that's what readers do. <<less

I'm sensing comedy aura from this one. So far (only 2 chapters to be exact lulz) it's not bad. Expect something like comedic slice of life from it. The isekai part is just a mere setting to justify its background (medieval otherworld) ; even the job "hero" seems so useless.

Well, its an isekai and as a lot of them do, we have a pretty dense MC.

I enjoyed the small twist in the Isekai compared to other one where the main character is just s*upid broken where he can one shot the demon king. The main character himself is actually pretty damn weak. He isnt capable of fighting well and is just weak physically compared to others.

However, that is where the difference from most isekais show. This guy is just a person good at being social... Thats his strength and... more>> as much as it seems kinda useless. This dude literally becomes so overpowered by being good at talking to people. Like I won't say any names/people specifically but if this guy was injured or killed, the world would go into chaos.

Its a really relaxing read, not a whole lot of intensive action and its just cute to read. There so far isnt some big bad dude that wants to destroy the world or anything like that. Its just a normal world where they get summoned to celebrate a festival. I genuinely really love this story. It has me waiting for the next chapter a lot of the time, not because of cliff hangers or something but it really just is a super lighthearted story. It makes me feel warm and happy while reading it.

Spoiler - From Ch 140

Spoiler

Damn this dude really getting all the girls that are viewed as the strongest beings in the world. He literally has like 3 of the Kings that are in love with him with 1 of the Kings being on par with the god that made everything. Oh yea, the all mighty god at the very top is also in "love" with him so thats cool. This man is literally the STRONGEST person in that world because of the fact that he has so many of the most OP characters with him. Like holy that is hilarious. Also if the end of the book is him going back home leaving the girls, imma be mad so hopefully it wont go that way.

I'm just gonna be straight and simple:

    • The protagonist being dense as a black hole when he can literally read the slightest emotions of an omnipotent god. Like this guy can literally understand what a mute girl means by reading her emotions and stuff (by his unique magic) but can't guess that the same girl is in love with him for like 3 volumes.
    • I was pretty much sure that I would like the MC from the 1-3 chapters cuz the author showed him as a calm calculative person who won't easily trust someone, but he turns into an absurdly super good guy for whatever reason.
    • Every girl he gets the name of falls in love with him. Why? He was nice to them. I don't mind when more than 3 girls fall for a single guy but please, at least make it sensible.
    • The MC meets the big shots of the world who everyone is scared of, every time he leaves to buy vegetables. (This is literally still going on after 300 chapters)
    • Every girl who confirms her feelings to him barges into his bath.
    • The MC has a habit of saying "Eh? Eeeeehhhhhh?" after every two lines. It annoyed me to death. It got too much after a point.
    • Some girls who lived for more than 1000 years fall in love with him for some reason. Mostly because MC complimented them on their looks and they blushed themselves to death.
    • After Chapter 100, it got super cringe. Like seriously.
    • The MC is super weak. He tried to learn magic in starting chapters but then he forgot after awakening his unique magic. He doesn't even try to be strong.
    • The pattern by which most girls fall in love with him is: "I am not even sexy or feminine at all!" -> "No, you're very beautiful" -> A-ahhh!! t-t-t-thank you". OR. The MC acted nice to a girl and didn't behave to her like most people do (Mostly fawn/fear her) and MC said "Why should I" and some other super cringy shit. Basically yeah.
    • It was pretty funny in the first 100 chapters seeing MC doing sh*t and bringing super famous people to the mansion out of nowhere but it got too repetitive after that. It ain't funny anymore.
    • I expected this cuz it's harem but I'm still including it. MC loved a single girl (at most two at the starting), but after other girls started confessing to him, he suddenly started liking them and then accepted their confessions.
    • MC got attacked by a bear, got his ass beaten, someone then killed the black bear, but then some god reincarnated that bear into a girl and for some reason, that bear girl got extremely extremely loyal to him. This sh*t literally happened.
    • There is this thing the author does at the bottom of every chapter, where it shows the MC writing a letter to his Mom, dad in an extremely compact form. I get this, cuz there are many novels/mangas that have things like this. It was pretty funny in the staring with him saying "Dear Mom, Father -- I have a magic teacher in a different world. However -- I'm not a lolicon" etc, etc... It also gave a pretty nice feel in the starting where he says that he's in a different world but it's in peace and shit, but as I said, it also got extremely annoying after some time. Although I get that the author can't remove that, it's like compulsory, there are things like this in many novels so yeah.
    • There are also some characters (mainly gods) who feel pretty forced to me, like there's no reason for them to be in love with the MC except him being just interesting. Many silly reasons too.
    • I thought he was a middle schooler after 30 or so chapters.
    • Pretty sure Kuro is the only one MC naturally grew to love after some time, and for girls, I'm pretty sure it's Lilia.

I like this story for the most part. As other reviews have said, it's a super chill and laidback sugar story.

My only issue is just how dense the MC can be. He literally has the ability to feel the emotions of others, so you'd think romance would be smooth sailing. WRONG.
Spoiler

In chapter 85, one of the girls knocks on his door in the middle of the night, and asks him for a stroll. While outside she sits next to him, and as they're leaving holds his hand. She literally left him a note saying she likes him and won't give up despite how many rivals she has. His reaction? "I don't get her intentions"
