I Thought It Was a Common Transmigration

As if it wasn’t enough to be hit on the head by my co-workers and boyfriend, I died at the hands of my gambling-addict older brother. Without even regretting my unfortunate death, I realized that I had possessed a supporting role in a romantic fantasy novel, which I just read yesterday. To be precise, a villainess destined to die at the hands of her husband. I know it’s cliché!

‘Possessed a villainess in a romantic fantasy novel! So this is what it feels like?’

I thought it was pretty good for the price of my unfair death. Until I realize that no matter what I do, I can’t deviate from the flow of the original. For the female lead Lizé, it’s a delightful cider series, but it’s nothing more of a bloody story for Edith, the villainess I possessed.

I am the protagonist in my life. If I’m going to die according to the original story, I should at least kiss my super handsome husband! In the original story, Edith is greatly despised by her husband, but who cares, I’m going to die anyway. However…

“You pretended not to be, but now you’re so hot to play with. Well, that’s good.”

“Yes…?”

“Satisfy me like Riegelhoff’s serpent. Well, who knows? I might be interested in that body of yours.”

…why is the original story starting to change now?

Firstly, the translation for this novel was fantastic. I saw very few errors within the text! (Great Job Guava! ~) This is one of the few clichèd romance novels that kept my attention, since it wasn’t constant smut, it was bearable (the steamy scenes were very toned down and infrequent (no graphic details)) The romance that develops between the characters was entertaining, and the plot had an interesting twist that kept it fresh, and finally, it was pretty short. I love it when an author keeps a work concise and... more>> not drawn out with filler. Bravo! ~ <<less

this is a great story! Edith is such a good FL and while it takes Killian sometime to get there, he's so good to her when he does. I really love their relationship! Kudos to the author and thank you to the translators for this wonderful novel!

This is probably the most entertaining transmigration book I've ever read. I came from the WEBTOON series after ch. 7 (I can't afford coins), and actually really enjoyed reading this (which usually doesn't happen with novels I start after the manhwa). It had me reading for hours and kept me hooked. I wouldn't say it's amazing, nor would I call it perfect, but damn, there's no denying it was good. (I want more chapters 😭❤️)

In the begining, you don't read it to full satisfaction. BUT, somewhere between the first 30 chapters you can grasp what is the plot and what can the characters turn into. From that point on, it is a good read. Better than the manhwa. You end up hating EVEYONE that is forced to follow the original plot. But that's the cactch: the people controle by the OG story are awful because you can notice how the OG author is an imature and cliché person. The OG plot doesn't allow anyone... more>> to be more than an unidimensional character, so the reader feel angry and frustratd very often. The OG characters are bad constructed, tacky even. But as soon as Edith starts changing the plot, it feels delightful! The characters that are free from the OG stroy control are awesome. They are funny, different between themselves, with peculiar tastes, preferences and backstories. Edith is also a strong willed and funny person. Her way of going through life is refreshing considering other stories of the same genre.

There are a lot of clichés, but they are well aplied and there is a good dose of author knowledge about the use and humor. I did read 120 chapters in 20 hours because that's this kind of stuff. <<less

I loved Edith, she is an intelligent MC, but she also has some sort of innocence and good-natured heart, which makes it easy to relate to her. And Killian really is a good ML, at some moments he acted s*upidly, but with the pass of time, at his own way, he started to fall for Edith, and taking care of her; even if they had a rocky relationship in the beginning, both of them learned to communicate with each other their feelings and their experiences, I believe that this very... more>> one factor made me love their beautiful relationship
Overall it was a really enjoyable story to pass the time, it made me feel anxious, happy, irritation and even sadness. I highly recommend it, you won't think that you wasted time reading this remarkable novel. <<less

If you like novels like "How to Get My Husband on My Side/How to Win My Husband Over", this novel is for you.

There are two translators here, but one of them seems to be using MTL, so I suggest on reading it on guava.

This novel, albeit similar to the novel above in some way, but it had a different twist/trope in it, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The whole plot had me in suspense and kept me guessing who is the "antagonist" here. Pacing is good, not too draggy and not... more>> too fast too.

Although it's R-15, the "implied scenes" were certainly more.. Implied and detailed? But not as detailed for it to be R-18/R-19. I find that it is actually a really good amount of spice (although I wished more haha)

I also liked how in the side stories, we were able to get closure for all the main characters. (Although I did wonder what happened to the Sinclairs but I guess they're not important enough here). In the side stories as well, we are able to read everything from perspective of the "antagonist" here. Although I mostly speedread through it because I couldn't care less. <<less

Silently screaming inside my heart because I love this novel so so much!!!

It was an emotional ride through. At first I didn't even realize that this was a novel with tragedy tag, it made me cried so so much. I think it was really well written that I could even feel the pain just from reading through the words. Honestly, this novel even got me stayed awake all night through around 6 am in the morning bc I can't stop reading about this. I was just too curious about the... more>> story to stop reading in the middle, really. Totally recommended.

Accidentally found this novel one day and since it was completed, I decided to read this on a whim, but it was totally a gem in my opinion. Feeling super grateful for the author and the translation team for this novel. Thank you so much for writing and translating till the end.. <<less

So freaking good! Came to read this because I couldn't wait for the manhwa to update. Great translations and even the side stories were great (I usually don't stay for the side story) but it answered all my questions and I loved the different pov. 10/10 would recommend

I had high expectations since everyone was saying it was good, but it’s literally just another common transmigration story and not even one of the best ones. I can’t understand how the FL would fall in love with someone that treated her like a vulgar prostitute (and I’m quoting his exact words) and there is absolutely no chemistry between them. There is no sense of satisfaction at all in the whole novel, and the ending is just disappointing.

First straight romance novel. And I love this so much.

Came here from the manhwa, the urge to read the whole story is too much for me to handle so I read the novel. Lol. 10/10

Love the FL and ml.

Thinking this is a common isekai novel, I got hook with this one. I like the characters, Edith being wise and Killian whom later had loose the grip from the author's manipulation loves his wife dearly. The plot is good too and was happy that Edith overcomes the three condition which led her to being the main character that she is. I recommend this one, and I would like to thank the two person who's translating this novel, grateful for your efforts.

This reminded me so much of death is the only ending for the villainess but I prefer this one much more. I like how Edith stayed through to her character as good-natured and forgiving even after the ending. To be honest, at first I was quite dissatisfied with its ending before I felt like Lizé wasn't punished even after all of her misdeeds. But after reading the side story, I felt more satisfied although Edith still remained pure and didn't even seek retribution. I really did hope she had even... more>> the slightest bit of grudge because Lizé got away with everything too easily and her punishment is too light.

Side Story (actual ending) :

Spoiler

But I'm glad Lizé was no longer a part of the Ludwigs and was banished. She was no longer adored by the Duke and Duchess. Cliff grew restless with her attitude. Her marriage with Cliff was annulled and the latter was able to move on from her and fell in love again with another person who became the duchess. Also, Edith didn't get her hands dirty even in the side story like a true pure female protagonist (which I despise most of the time because I like my protagonist to be flawed and petty and seek retribution) and she saved Lizé. She's too nice and forgiving as if like a saint. Killian and Edith also had a family and Ryzen was apparently becoming successful so it was all good karma in the end.

It is a refreshing concept in the currently crowded isekai flood. I liked the down to Earth and mature approach that Edith had about the whole thing, specially how she decided to live her life, focus on Killian and leave her in laws and the villain where they should be, eating dust in the distance while she is off enjoying her marriage with her hot husband.

Yes, Killian can get frustrating and hurtful in the begining but for a character that was pretty much a puppet in the villains grasp, he... more>> did put the effort to slowly get out of the influence and see the real Edith, then to learn to love and treasure her. <<less

.... it was common transmigration story... 😅

I don't really like ML & his family, even ML finally admitted they were idiots albeit very late 🙃

FL is a saint, she is too kind for ogFL & ogml.. ... more>>
Spoiler

eventhough in the side stories both got what their deserved.. no, ogML is still got happy ending, so I still dislike 😐

[collapse]

4.5/5 for the suspense and damsel in distress troupe which my taste

3/5 for characters... I truly despise ML... he had spent passionate nights with FL but still kissing ogFL forehead all the time. Tch. Both have hot nights all the time but to me, it feels like just s*x friends. FL is too receiving and forgiving.... sigh... <<less

First of all, I almost going crazy because the translation is not complete yet and I'm left hanging... Fortunately there spoilers in forum.

I really like MC because she's a really strong woman mentally. And when I think there's no way she's going through 'that' because she is the female lead and ML will surely come to save her, and wow, it really show how much she just a supporting character in that story. In the first half, she basically relying on herself to clear her injustices to the point I... more>> wonder, who is the male lead? When I check the spoiler, I think 'ML is tr*sh' and denying the reality for a moment. But well then ML become better and it is gradually uncovered the reason he was like that, it's not his fault, he innocent, and I start to love and looking forward to their interaction.

'that'= framed, tortured, etc

What I love most about MC is her independence, if she can't rely on others, she will do it herself and that what make me stay throughout the story until the end.

But I still not find the spoiler about her real father, I want to know though.

Lastly, my sincere advice, prepare lots of tissues. <<less

So far I think it is very good. Everyone is a suspect all the time for the things that are happening. Hopefully the ML starts getting his act together

I originally liked the novel. The start is quite fresh (being a cliche villainess transmigration story) but at chapters keep coming and the relationship between the male lead and the female lead evolves I couldn't help to start disliking the FL. She's a pushovers, no angst can save her. She brushes off the inhumane, illogical and abusive behavior of many people, not just the ML. The solution: forgive everything let's start anew. No consequences at all.

I cried a lot at the angsty parts! The identity of the villain also surprised me, but honestly... I should've realized, haha.

I think it was a bit trope-y, but the tropes were used in an interesting way.

I liked how complex the characters were, and I appreciated that the ML wasn't tr*sh (he initially was, but there were reasons). The supernatural? aspects and worldbuilding were also more interesting than most generic villainess transmigrations.

My only complaint is that the villain's downfall/POV chapters was a bit overdone (imo at least), but the novel's... more>> still great! I appreciate the MC's personality too, although the author does make her a bit too saintly at times for my tastes. <<less

Read most of this (c.36-156) in one sitting.
I really love this novel! I think the MC is pretty interesting and well developed. I like the ML in comparison to other ML’s. He’s not a bad ML but what I liked about him was mostly what he wasn’t. A lot of ML’s are overbearing and solve everything for the MC. He wasn’t like that, the perfect amount of clingy. I liked how logical and consistent the MC was. The villains were ok. Plenty to hate about them but you probably won’t loathe them. MC doesn’t really do any over the top revenge but it’s still satisfying.
