The rating for this novel is so low that I was turned off from reading it for the longest time! Tbh though, it's really not that bad? The summary is off-putting and the subject matter is poorly researched, but if you're looking to read casually, you should be able to enjoy it just fine. At least, there's a semblance of character development overtime (unlike a lot of other BG novels).

Summary: The premise of the novel is that the FL (Lin Xiaoyue) wakes up to find herself inside the body of... more>> a cannon fodder villain in a 1970s novel. This cannon fodder was just recently sold to the villain in the novel — notable because of his multiple personalities. She's not as ambitious as most FLs written during this era. She mostly just wants face slap people and live a rich and relaxed life. So the tone of the novel is very light and casual.

I don't recommend this novel if you're looking for something serious. For one, the setting is poorly explained so if you're not familiar with China in the 1970s, you're probably going to be confused quite often. Furthermore, the plot is really not all that complex. It's your typical "transmigrating to face slap the greedy relatives". There's some poor-to-rich aspect as well as a fantasy aspect (because the FL has a magical space where she can purchase things from the future pretty much endlessly), but it's not the focus of the story and is really more of a convenient golden finger to bring up now and again.

As for the ML matter *thinkingface* I think the development was pretty good. Some may complain because of the disappearing personalities or the "unfair" treatment because of the FL's bias, but in my opinion the ML is the ML. The most important thing is that he's doting no matter what form he is LOL. Furthermore, the FL's bias is completely understandable given the condition that personality 1&2 were in. I did honestly dislike her a bit at the time as well. But her selfishness was set up to be a clear character trait of hers from the beginning, so I ended up accepting it in the end.

RATING: 3.75/5

Altogether, while the novel certainly has some drawbacks. It's not serious to the point that it deserves such a low rating. I think it's worth the read just for the fun of it. Though, I understand that if I were in a different, more picky mood when I read this, I probably would have given it a low rating as well LOL. <<less

Dropping a rant to all the unhidden spoiler reviews around:
Weird how everybody is coming down harsh on MC for having a bias.
The first personality is a child.
The second one is a broody/moody reclusive shy young teen.
The third one is the only one acting like a young adult and has something 18yr old girls like her would be attracted to, a naughty but caring bad boy.
It would be rather weird instead to be attracted to someone immature.

She's married to him.

She'd want a husband, not a child or younger brother.
Makes sense to me.
She cares for the rest of the two but seem them lacking in the aspect as potential partners compared to no.3, duh.

Spoiler

Not going to finish the novel because of the tragedy. Author killed off the 3rd personality/OTP so what the heck am I gonna do with this information...?._.

MC ends up with ML because...? Makes no sense to me, not excited to find out.

It was a pretty good story I don't think it deserves so much hate. Anyway I agree that the original was definitely delt a dirty hand what with her parents selling her off for money to what was clearly far from an ideal marriage. BUT that doesn't make it ok to bully a special needs person. I mean even if she hated and treated the rest of his family badly fine (although you start to understand that his parents aren't evil even though they did some screwed up things.) But... more>> its not ok to treat someone with the mentality of a child so bad that they need to essentially bring a protector personality out full time to deal with it. Being pitiful is no excuse for how she acted its good she got replaced by FL. Anyway my biggest gripe is the clearly rushed ending it was obviously cut short. But I still enjoyed the story to spite not being big on revenge. <<less

Like like like XD

The plot isn´t anything totally special but it is well timed and has it´s rythm (comedy, faceslapping, romance and drama), with the the ML's condition and MC's inability to stay put being the spicy wild cards, so it keeps you entertained and reading.

The ML is... no, the ML's are great in a fragmented and varied way and it really is touching how all of him likes her and he gets jelous of himself (really soooooo cute). The MC, on her part, is likeable enough, thanks to god... more>> NOT a doormat and with good tastes, and knows how to: use her golden finger, get back at meanies, unite the family and love her husband... so good.

Of course, the interaction between MC and ML is really sweet and cute with some frustrating moments, thanks to his condition, but there isn't that much drama and the pampering, caring and loving sure is there.

So, totally recommend!!! <<less

I quite liked it. While flawed, there was not any major setback for the MC and ML. They progressed upwards and never had a falling down.

Additionally, the face slapping was loud and crisp.

Although there were some things that I thought the MC and her mother-in-law were a little cruel about (dealing with the elderly) — but their history in the family was filled with contempt and pain, so I could not fault that them a lot.

Overall, it was entertaining in my own opinion.
