It's pretty interesting actually. Aside from the fact the MC, yet again, transported to another world this brings us to how she will strugle in fitting in the modern world since she's a deadly (albeit sort of naive) assassin who, later in life, will serve in the elite military force. I just hope there's a bit of romance to liven up MC's cold heart (:

I pray and ask any interested translator who may want to pick up this c-novel as it seems amery edge won't be continuing this since the... more>> poll results, this was the first one to get eliminated. Please, please, somebody with a kind heart continue this?😣😭😫🙏 <<less

I've read the raws. I think it's a cute story actually. I do admit that the beginning is a bit confusing. We had no idea how she died in her previous life, but personally, I didn't care enough, as long as she was entertaining enough in her current life.

An ex-assassin/killer travels and inhabits the body of a young, not-really-well taken care of type of girl. I guess that part is cliche. The non-cliche part is when her neighbour (a boy that's one year older) sneaks into her room to check... more>> if she's doing fine because of his mom's persistence. He ends up getting badly hurt (lmao) because our beloved ex-killer doesn't take too kindly on surprise attacks.

The main goal of our MC so far (in ch 44 of the eng translation) is to go back in time. She's willing to join the military and the gang to do so. I absolutely adore her disciple/neighbour who thinks he's her ge.

Spoiler

Turns out he'll be her hubby at the end. The ending is super sweet. The two get married and she proposes to him (lmao) as expected. There's some extra chapters about their kids and going to the amusement park.

[collapse]

I love the main couple's dynamic because it reminds me a lot of my parents. My mom's the real boss in the family lmao.

I wished there was more than one update a week, but I'm more than willing to wait. The translation's only got 27 more chapters to go anyway. <<less

Up until now I would give this story 3 stars, but the reading experience is disgusting. It is almost unreadible, because you are thrown out of the story multiple times per chapter and my enjoyment of reading this hit rock bottom. Why?

A few chapters into this translation, after you got somehow hooked, the translator decided to put up 8, 9, 10 and more watermarks per chapter.

This destroys and influences my experience to enjoy this story, therefore I have to downgrade this to 1 star. I will never read a novel... more>> from zhanlantranslations again. <<less

Qin Ke Xuan, the top assassin of their organisation, transmigrated from a xianxia ancient china to the modern world. She transmigrated over to a weak willed young girl.

If it sounds generic, it really isn't.

It's an interesting take on this type of genre. MC might sound OP and she is in a way but she also isn't. The only OP ability she has is her xianxia assassin capabilities. Against modern invention and modern society... As a middle school student...

ML is a loyal ML. Waifu is law kind of ML. I appreciate... more>> how the ML grew and changed as a person (to accommodate waifu more lol jk)

Why 4 stars?

Spoiler

I hate her family, but at the same time I don't. I can't hate them fully to my heart's content in my main discontent because not everything is black and white.

I hate her crazed mom who ignored her and yet cooks for her.

Her dad, who even though tries to make up for neglecting her, still cheated and had a child with another. He was only driven by conscience.

The step mom who cooks and cares for her a little was still the person who broke their family. She also is quick to blame her.

As much as that grandfather offered her an olive branch, I also dislike him.

Sigh it's complicated.

Happy about the HE though

Not the worst, not the best.

The MC is an assassin who has transmigrated into the modern world. Because of this sudden transmigration, the MC tries to find a way to go back to her own world, but in the meantime, decides to join a military/government division to put her assassin skills to use while also teaching a childhood friend (of the body the MC has transmigrated into), some flying dagger/martial arts tricks.

The first part about joining a military/government organization is understandable since the MC is an assassin and wants more... more>> info on how to time-travel back into her own world, so the only way to do so is to see if the government/military have any confidential info on time-traveling. But the second part about teaching her new body's childhood friend martial arts got me so confused. Like why would any one do that? The MC should be busy with school and her military/government missions, not be tangled up in some problematic delusional childhood sweetheart drama, especially since the ML (who is the childhood friend), is weirdly nosy and keeps on bothering the MC left and right. I think the characters in this novel were not properly fleshed out as their personalities have a lot to be questioned on, and there was also no character development. Even though the MC stayed in the modern world for a while, she did not really try to adapt/understand the modern world's way of thinking and the ML never really did grow up as his mindset seem to be stuck in a preadolescent/teenage way of thinking, never really thinking about the consequences of his actions.

Overall, I am kind of disappointed in this novel as I expected something more, but don't let this review stop you from reading this story. This novel was not my type of tea or coffee, but it may be yours. <<less

short novel so the plot r rush n kinda forced.

MC is an assassin that doesnt really have an assassin capability. she doesnt have calmness n judging ability. shes reckless, ignorant, n easily blown her own cover.

ML is as useless as he can be. a typical deadweight that drags down MC every single time. MC join 2nd rate local gang (so far only become thief n fight some local thugs) n he feel that its dangerous, report her to police n get her to join the military in world espionage (job... more>> description: damage, assassinate and kidnap, reconnaissance behind enemy lines, seize intelligence, work as anti-agents, engage in anti-raids and anti-hijacking and etcetera.) n thats not dangerous eh? I wanna cut off MLs head n see if he have brain inside... he start off as a pest around MC... <<less

Hmm. I am a big fan of these transmigrating female MC boss fighters, especially from one of my favorites Mistaken Marriage: Military novel. However, the female MC is a bit too cold even by my standards. Plus the fact that she had to learn everything that happens without any previous memory is a little unrealistic. I am a fan of the ML, though I also feel quite bad for him and the fact that he rarely appears in the story. Would have liked having a little more context or background... more>> in the beginning to explain what exactly happened, though the flashback much later about how she died was quite illuminating. Do love the family dynamic lol, though the power differential is quite extreme. <<less

It's rather confusing at the start especially trying to remember all the Chinese names but, I really like this novel. The MC is uncaring to pretty much everyone around her but eventually she does open up to one person which is really cute. Also she's a badass.

It kinda just throws you into the story without any background or context on what happened. This is another story where an super assassin is transported to another body. It isn't anything special but I don't quite see why people are rating it a 1.
Pretty good so far

The novel started out as interesting but ended up sa decent.

Honestly, I like the character build up of the FL. When said swift and ruthless and it is. But on later chapters she became a little bit off especially when nearing the end. She comes out as a person that cannot be changed her decision when decided but on the later chapter she became indecisive. I cannot count that as character progressing but altered cuz nothing changed except that she fell in love with an unasuming ML.

As for the ML,... more>> it can be noted that he ranked up! From annoying neighbor to ML. I unexpectedly didn't think that he's the ML because he's so annoying but on the later parts he's the only character that can be seen some progress (little bit). I like the part about the ML and FL progressing because its the only scene that can be counted as pretty natural.

I'm just unsatisfied with some parts that is not specially specified like the previous owner of the body?, what did happen with her former school? What is her family's reaction?

In the novel, the scope of the story itself is realllyyyy focused about the main leads and it didn't explain the other elements. The novels seems rushed and fast paced.

Its a good read. <<less

Translation score = 3/5. This could have easily been a 4/5, or possibly even a 5/5 if the translator actually took the time to proof read their own work or hire an editor. Just so many idiotic mistakes they make in one paragraph, yet don't make that same mistake in another. Just lazy work over all.

Story score = 2.5/5. It actually started out really interesting. Instead of a girl time traveling into the body of some useless young miss of the past, she traveled FROM the past into... more>> the body of a young girl in modern times. Seeing her trying to adapt to modern times was pretty fun to read. However, that soon slipped away, and it was as though she understood pretty much everything just like any other normal person. It instead just continuously showcased how bad ass she was. Obviously, this is to be expected as that's pretty much all she knew, but the story more or less gave up on letting her have any social life besides the dweeb male lead, leaving much to be desired.

Speaking of the male lead, he started out as the loud mouth side kick you see in other stories, the one that's CONSTANTLY annoying yet teaches her things of the new world (for her anyway) that she doesn't understand. The problem is... actually, I'll put the rest in spoilers just in case..

Spoiler

The problem is, he somehow turns into the love interest. Now, I'd understand if, say, in the story something happened that turned him from the class clown jokester into a serious guy. Yes, they say he started studying harder, but he was still the same fool of kid who makes inappropriate jokes where even you as the reader want to smack him the face. Besides constantly wanting to hang out with the MC, he never does anything that in the story to make her realistically think something like.. "Hey, he might actually be someone I can fall in love with." He just continues to act like a side kick class clown lackey, and she ends up saying they should get married... What? It seems pretty obvious the author got tired of writing the story and just wanted to wrap things up, so decided to make HIM the romantic interest without building any sort of structure behind it, except for the fact that he was there when she first appeared in the world.

Speaking of the author wanting to wrap things up, there was an even WORSE case of this. As with a lot of female lead time traveling novels, the romantic interest of her past life who (usually) kills her in that life somehow ALSO transported to the same new time as her. However, the way it was handled in this story caused me to drop 1.5 stars from the rating JUST due to this. They run into each other, they fight, he explains that he pretty much had no choice but to kill her, she tries to fight him still and gets caught by him. She then suddenly agrees that he made the right call, says they shouldn't see each other anymore, and POOF.. The novel ends in the next chapter. There is a short scene of the old romantic interest meeting up with the class clown male lead and pretty much giving him the "you better treat her well" talk in the last chapter, and that's it. I mean... Seriously? That's how the novel ends?

Won't even get into the fact that the military brought her into a special forces group right as she enters high school just because she showed some skills, even though they constantly repeat she'd under the legal age to join them. Ridiculous forced plot pushing.

[collapse]

So, in short.. This is one of the first times I wouldn't say don't bother reading the novel at all, OR read all of it. I'd honestly say if you wanted to get enjoyment out of this novel without ruining your taste for it, read the first 40 chapters or and then stop. Stop when she enters the.. second, I think?, Military school. <<less
