A story about a man learning how to take care/ prioritize oneself after breaking off from a relationship that wasn't good for either parties involved.

Spoiler

Am I the only one who thought that fu yan, forgive me I can't really remember his name, basically the MLS white moonlight, was weird? I mean he was straight, and knew that the ML liked him. I understand you can't really control anyone's feeling for you, but wouldn't it be more logical to distance oneself from someone that you know have intentions to you? Like the MC forgave him, which would be one point I disagree with. At some point I really did think that FY stuck around on purpose. I know it's a hot take, but like I felt it was a weird point.

[collapse]

A continuation of my hot take...

Spoiler

Cus like their was a scene when MC was in the hospital for his broken leg (or sprained), anyways both the scum ML and FY was there. Then their was a moment when FY was alone with MC and FY acknowledges that he knows the both MC and ML are close. And he says sorry and that he thinks that ML likes MC more but don't know how to say it. Like I don't whether I should laugh, but it is speculated by MC that they (FY and ml) had like a 10 yr friendship and MC didn't know if they were lovers who couldn't be together etc etc. Anyways, pretty sussy. It almost felt like FY liked the attention he got, but never followed up on it.

[collapse]

But anyways... It was a good novel of 'rebirth' in a way of caring for oneself. Some might not like the ending, but personally, I felt it fit the characters. <<less

-First 25 chapters are in forum style, in 1st POV of our MC.

-ML chasing wife crematorium, in english, 'redeem arc' is 26 to about 56 in raws. The rest are sweet, fluffy stuff :D

-MTL is easy to read. And, there're no descriptive snu-snu scenes, in case you came here for that.

I really liked the author's writing. The flow was smooth in 1st POV. It was angsty and it fulfilled my cravings, hehe. There wasn't much suspense either. The story was quite reasonable, and really felt a little abusive (not physically).... more>> Would definitely suggest if you're looking for a little sob story with a heartbroken MC and an equally heartbroken ML. <<less

For me, I think it's pretty realistic.

A man who was blindfolded by his love, and not willing to listen to his brain that this love was sucking him to the bone and his lover didnot give him his all. But he woke up! He tore it off and wanted to start over his life.

Another man who lost his love because he wasnot trying his best to see and give the equal amount of love his lover deserved to get. Finally he understood how unfair it was. But the ship was... more>> gone.

The journey to go find each ohter might be a bit too coincidence, but it's fine. <<less

5/5* RECOMMEND

Such underrated story (3.8*??). This story was a little gem!

The first part, c1-c26, is written in a novel/forum style in MC's POV. MC asks advice how he could make ML stop bothering him. He explains their relationship and background. These chapters are really good!! I liked that that only in the end of each forum post of MC there are a few netizens comments, it didn't feel disruptive to the flow.

Chapters 27-60 is the 2nd part. It's in normal novel style. Part 2 was written 2.5y laters... more>> by the author.

Why 5*?

This story is soooo REAL!! Everyone that has gone through a break up in real life can relate to MC's heart break. The details, the reasons why he waited until then. Why he stayed with ML. And eventually what made him snap and realize he should leave ML.

The heart break is not dramatized, romanticized or exaggerated. But it was so very bone cutting painful nevertheless!! I'm quite sure the author must have experienced break ups first hand.

This story's character are written like real people. The plot is very realistic as well! Not the fictional, unrealistic abuse for the sake of abusing the characters and readers. How ML won back MC... ML wasn't on the brink of death like in most other novels, but it took him so much effort and time to be reunited again with MC.

I enjoy my share of unrealistic, face slapping, dog blood BL (wife chasing) tropes to the point I'm addicted, but when I come across a story that is so close to you what you feel and experience in a real heart break.. the impact is just much greater! Because I agree with the reader below me.. This story is like non-fiction, and therefore it touched me more deeply.

In short, give this little gem a chance! It is well paced. No dragging or fillers. The writing style is pleasant. No r*pe/dubcon. Btw I'm not so fond of those wife chasing stories where in the first half of the story the abuse is still going on and you frustratingly wait till MC finally realizes that he should leave the bastard. It's not the case here. You start the story when MC has already left ML. <<less

Well we all know that the MC and ML are going to get back together. The way it's going to happen is rather interesting.

And for once, the moonlight is not gay therefore not interested... So, it's sad, you'd shed tears but there's no savage means to get revenge. Because MC is trying to put his love behind him.

I've been thinking of breaking up with my boyfriend for months. I am hesitating because I feel like I have invested a lot in this relationship. This kind of novels somehow makes me more determined to break up.

Being in a relationship is like gambling. Once you win (creates good memories), you'll get addicted. But can you always win? If you lost, you'll just think that you'll get it back again, thinking of your past winnings. In the end, sometimes, your losses outweigh your gains.

Don't judge this book by the synopsis or the first few chapters, it's really emotional and I don't regret every minute I spent reading it or the roller coaster of feelings I had. Please read to the end. You won't regret it, just like me.~♡

The book is actually quite short. I'm still in the middle of reading the extras (which is pretty much a sequel book), but so far I like how it ended. I like how our MC isn't as dumb as how other MCs are who would throw themselves back to the ML just after a bit of coaxing and affection.

MC actually makes ML work and realize he was a d*uchebag and that MC doesn't trust him anymore. There were parts that I felt like it was too random but I just... more>> ignored it.

I like how the other characters actually have conscience. Like they don't just judge the main characters' actions based on what one person says, rather they hear from both sides before thinking of anything and immediately hating them.

The way the author wrote about the ML actually made me feel frustrated along with the MC, although there were times MC sounded a bit too much and arrogant, but I don't dwell on it much since MC is after all human and it's probably language barrier (I MTL-ed it).

But overall it's a decent read, if you want something to pass time. <<less

I read this at shubaow. net. Total chapter 61. The first part of 25 chapters was MC pov (his side of story) posted in a forum asking how to get rid of his scum bf. The second part in 36 chapters is the continuation of their (MC and ml) story in third person pov. (timeline after MC end his forum post and bonus of ML side pov). In this part, you can see bothside on how their attitude and thinking. How they regret, how they realise their own mistake,... more>> their own immature attitude and tried change it. How their family and friends react about them.. ect..

*try to read this on character perspective you will understand why the ending like that.*

Spoiler

yes. A happy ending. MC get back to Ml.

Personally I want more dog blood but if I'm MC myself I will moved too by ML attitude. Haha.

[collapse]

Overall, I give 4 star. I thought this novel quite realistic to real world. It also quite well written: the plot pace, character building.

Speak about character.

Spoiler

One thing I dissatified with ml, he a bit pushover and obsessive. Thankfully he know when to stop. As for MC, he easily get kissed by other people and did not get angry to much. If its me, I will slap them alrealy. I think the scene MC kissed by side character. If I not remember it wrong.

Btw... There few side character who at first I thought will end up with MC but they all scum. I want to beat them. Slag!!! I think they aproached MC to make him sparetire or subtitute or something but their part written quite rushed so no backstory about them

For those who want to read mtl, it easy to understand, so go translate. <<less

(I haven't read the extras yet, cause they might be back together in it.)

The novel is quite unique on how it was written. It's like a forum, where you tell your problems and netizens can comment on it. The MC tells his story through that. It's a bit dog blood, just a bit.

I love that they didn't got back together at the end. Most of the chasing novels really disappointed me when they reunited so I'm really happy that this one didn't. I mean– most of the MLs... more>> in those novels have poor excuse and the MCs are doormats.

In this novel though, the MC is really resolute which is I'm happy about. The ML? Nah. He doesn't deserve MC at all. In those 5 years of relationship, he didn't wholeheartedly love MC. And I didn't really like how he almost r*pe the MC. I'm actually already holding a knife at that point.

Though, I don't know what's the point of Jin Yu and his cousin in the plot? They really didn't do much except to cause more mess.

Anyway, this is a 4/5 for me. Minus 1 cause I disliked the ML. <<less

Rating: 3.5 but rounded down.

    • Half a star off for the
      Spoiler

ML almost raping MC in his anger after seeing MC kissed by a fake second ML--fake because he's actually kind of scum and MC was never interested. But he stopped after MC cried, so he'd kissed him super hard and touched his body but backed off. I mean, questionable ultimately because MC was briefly traumatized

      [collapse]
      • I'd have taken a whole star off, but at least the "white moonlight"
        Spoiler
            • WASN'T A SNAKE!!!!!!! Finally!!!! The white moonlight is really straight, he even gets married later. He hardly had a clue ML liked him. After the water accident, the white moonlight even tells MC that maybe ML just didn't know that he liked MC.
        [collapse]
    • Half a star off for the
      Spoiler

rather unnecessary side plot of a fake second ML (Jin Yu) who only chased him to basically find a replacement for his "true love" who's his younger cousin. Basically, the two are entangled with each other and could basically be another novel on their own. I wouldn't have minded this type of side plot anywhere else... but c'mon, saddling the MC with another tr*sh? I mean, MC wasn't into him from the get-go, but imagine if MC had been interested, even a little bit. The whole side plot's details are mostly implied, which makes it worse cos in the end the reader doesn't even know what was really going on bw the fake second ML and his cousin.

      [collapse]
    • Half a star just for the vagueness with which the latter 3 years of their 5-year relationship were described. Barely is it described properly at all, so readers only know "oh, ML was hot and cold, so on and so on", except you can't really just skim over 3 years like that. Especially not the 3 years integral to the start of the plot.
The ML... I can't say he's tr*sh per se. Like, he wasn't abusive or any of the shitty characteristics MLs of this genre tend to carry. He's still questionable on many counts. I mean, he stalks the MC, ignores MC's requests, and so on. But in the end, he really leaves MC alone. It takes a while, but he does in the second half of the novel when he truly comprehends MC's rejection.

The MC... he's average. Nothing to like, nothing to dislike. One thing I'll say is that the hints of them getting back together were there the whole time. Every time the ML backed off (temporarily) due to MC's request, MC would think to himself, "see, he really doesn't care about me. nothing to hope for". MC, through the story (though less so in the second half), seems to be conflicted without realizing it himself. He'll tell the ML to go away, then bemoan how ML going away proves that ML's infatuation is just brief.
Spoiler

In second half of story, the MC remarks on how ML has really forgotten about him and implies disappointment--but wasn't he the one who told ML not to keep forcing MC to leave? (The MC first moved cities, then countries)

[collapse]

Anyways, the ML really changes. Given that he wasn't total abusive scum, I can't say he was impossible to redeem. I'd also say, he proved his persistence. I mean, 2+ years of waiting for MC? I'll take that. There are many MCs who have settled for less.

I am questioning every single one of you commenters except
holachica, Kaylee, and Irissska O_o. I especially question the one that said this story was like nonfiction cuz, wth is wrong with your love life wake up. Their initial relationship may have been believable, but the things ML does to get back with MC is very questionable, the whole process is so questionable. ML stalks MC to the point that I feel like MC should have gotten a restraining order.

Author does admit to avoid this relationship plus I liked how author wrote the forum format so... it's not completely one star.

The reason I'm dropping this is cuz of my redflag which occurred twice in the story. There are "fangirls" in the story. A girl tells ML that MC says they aren't lovers, ML basically gaslights MC saying oh we are lovers he's just angry, and the girl giggles. STFU. ML hasn't changed he's still dismissive of MC's thoughts, opinions, and feelings. He stalks MC to the point MC should get a restraining order. Then one forum person finds out who ML and MC is and is fangirling trying to support the CP.

I expected this story to be very basic because there's not a lot of chapters but damn, this is a really good novel. It's very angsty and a whole roller coaster ride filled with sorrows and tears. I feel so bad for MC. ML did get his redemption arc that he deserved. ML didn't do anything inherently bad like abuse or cheating when they were still together so I can forgive him quickly and it's what made reading this feel easy. Though, ML did forcefully kissed MC after the breakup.... more>> MC and ML got their own happiness back and I'm happy too. It's a sad novel with a bitter-sweet ending ? I'm not sure if it's even a happy ending after everything that I've read about how MC suffered so I'll call it a bitter-sweet ending instead.

I hate the white moonlight, very annoying. I'm actually not sure if ML likes him but it does seem like it so I don't blame MC for "overreacting" because I would've done the same too.

Also, this novel is great because the MC doesn't cave in to the ML. He actually moved on and start bettering his life.

Lastly, I need to know more about Jin Yu and Chen Yi. Jin Yu's end sounds sad. <<less

Good crematorium. ML sure earned his love.

But my takeaway was they were both responsible. People need to learn to communicate their wants & needs in a relationship. This is a problem with all MC's in crematoriums, they never require anything of their partner.

I don't like that Ml's difficulties were brushed over just because he was a bad lover.
    • He had an abusive dad & tried to break out of father's control. MC never discovers this.
    • That disgusting girl who outed him got away with it.
Edit: tell me why the ML pissed me off so much more this second read? He CHOSE to withhold his affection. He was not incapable of it, he just knew just how much to give and when to give. That's such manipulative behaviour. I checked the MC for his poor communication, the ML is guilty of it too. How do couples even consider themselves secure without discussing their past and future?

So angsty. This is one novel where the MC really tried to pick himself up and move on after what the ML put him through in their previous relationship. I felt pity for the scumbag ml. He really suffered a lot chasing the MC and trying to get him back. I mtl'd the novel and it deserve a higher rating here imo.

It was kind of story which is romantic only on paper but you have to avoid it in real life. And I like the fact that the author admitted it in the postnote. Also it was good enough that after reading 12 translated chapters I continued to read the mtl. Which was very easy to understand, btw.

Definitely not a light read. There's plenty of angst in it. The only difference is that in the main text, the MC recalls all the bad things the ML did (especially in chapter 4! - I would never forgive the ML for this), so the drama is in the past, which sort of eases the angst. But there's nothing cute or light about it. It has angst, dog blood, and chasing the wife in the crematorium (this one is in the Extras). It's a rather emotional novel.
