He ascended to the Heavens at a young age; however, due to unfortunate circumstances, was quickly banished back to the mortal realm. Years later, he ascends again–only to be banished again a few minutes after his ascension.
Now, eight hundred years later, Xie Lian ascends to the Heavens for the third time as the laughing stock among all three realms. On his first task as a god thrice ascended, he meets a mysterious ghost who rules over the ghosts and terrifies the Heavens, yet, unbeknownst to Xie Lian, this ghost king has been paying attention to him for a very, very long time.

I absolutely adore this novel very much! It made me laugh, smile and cry so much. The writing, translation, their love, animation, manhua everything about this novel is beautifully done. MC is someone I could relate to the most. There are many well-written characters as well. The character arcs, mystery, meaning behind things kept me intrigued till the end. There wasn't any chapter, I felt bored or draggy. I keep on re-reading this masterpiece. It has become my comfort novel. 100% recommend this if you love cultivation novel, heavy plot, angst, pure love, multiple characters and their story, unconditional love, adventure etc. I wish I could read this for the first time again.
Xie Lian, the crown prince who is believed to had been pleased the Gods finally ascended through an immense cultivation training but after his ascension, he had been descended as he wanted to help the common people, his people to be precised, in person. He believed that this is the right thing to do. At first, his people, all loved and believed him, that he will bring the flag of victory and end their crisis, Xie Lian thought that way too because who is he? A God! He is a God that will save his people! But after all, he is still a human in a way. All he did was what he thinks is for the good but day after day, he loses a devotee, a devotee is lose then his Godly power will depleted too, until the day when everything had been finally put into an end. He didn't managed to save his people, he instead lead them into a tragic ending. His people all blamed him for being a good for nothing God! Xie Lian were so aggrieved that in his second ascension, he lead a war and 'kill' anyone in sight and then descended again.
He was now a laughing stock in the Heavenly Realm. He was deprived of his Godly power and Good Luck by two seals/cursed marks so who would believed that he would once again ascend again? Little did he know, there's still a certain someone who wholeheartedly believes him, who trusts him, who loves him and will always be his beloved God. It is Hua Cheng who is now, after 800 years, had been entitled as Crimson Rain Sought Flower, a supreme ghost who challenged 35 Gods into a fight and also the Hua Cheng who had been saved by Xie Lian and who had believed that he's not a "unlucky" star.
An exciting road of a God with a Supreme Ghost helping him. A God with his one and only devoted believer. The road ahead is full of twists and turns so buckle up!
This is the only novel, I've rated full 5 stars in my heart!! The story is very well written! It's almost like you're in there as well! There are times, you will want yourself to hug Xie Lian and say "I'm also your devotee!" Or comfort Hua Cheng and say "Hong Hong-er you're not unlucky". And there are times you wanted to coughed and say "Pardon me, I didn't see anything. Nothing at all!" XD. *Winks*
Highly recommended for everyone!!! Yes for everyone! Come on read it right now and become one of Dianxia's (Xie Lian's) and Hua Chengzu's believer! I swear after you read it, you'll not know whether to laugh or cry!
