The first month I left, Lu Jiangming was still happy. The second month, Lu Jiangming occasionally suffered from insomnia. The third month, Lu Jiangming started looking for me. I cried a lot.

I loved this story. It brought out my tears since the very first chapter. That damn cheating ml. I never once felt bad for him.

Another angst story if you need some ache in your heart. Very short read to put a bit of grey in my days.

4th time rereading.

I just felt meh the entire time reading this. Maybe it’s because I’ve been binging stories similar to this all day (and they were so good I cried the entire time) but I felt nothing with this one - no tears, anger, nothing.

I contribute it mainly to the writing (or translation) cause I had a hard time following it. I was soo confused because every ‘part’ of the chapters was set at a different time point - sometimes in high school, sometimes in the present day, sometimes a bit before... more>> the ml’s death; yet there was barely any indicator of which point in the timeline we were at as I had to piece it together myself after reading a few paragraphs. Everything just felt so disjointed and each scene wasn’t expanded upon enough. Like I’ve read similar types of writing styles but it felt like the author just kept throwing things at me
Spoiler

like how the ml’s friend is yelling at the MC on the phone and then the next part, they summarise in one sentence that the ml’s friend got into a car accident right afterwards and apparently he’s in a coma now lol

[collapse]

idk, like personally I didn’t really feel like the MC was remorseful enough. Like it just felt like I was reading a grown man’s temper tantrums and the few times he was sad and depressed weren’t really fleshed out enough for me to feel like the MC got his retribution (as they only lasted like 1-2 paragraphs before the scene changed). You usually read these stories to sympathise with the ML and lament all his problems, or to rage at the mc’s s*upidity and watch him get his just desserts, but I felt like I just got no payoff for how long I sat here and read it. <<less

I didn't want to read it at first when I saw the Non-linear tag but it was fine. The story is too short for the non-linear story telling to be irritating for those who normally doesn't like it.

It's a fine, sad short story to read if u wanna take a break from those happily go lucky without common logic stories. Don't expect too much tho. It's not a master piece but it's still a fine story.
