Guide To Raising the Sick Villain

Qiao Lan transmigrated into a novel.

She became a cannon-fodder who was rescued by the heroine after being bullied but was jealous of the heroine because of her love for the hero and ultimately ended up miserable.

When she first entered the novel, Qiao Lan met a cannon fodder more pitiful than her. He was bullied, severely autistic, and had crippled legs.

Qiao Lan: …

Thinking of the male partner who had only been able to live for two years, Qiao Lan had a distressed conscience and began to take care of the gloomy boy.

2 years later, they had both become each other’s lift and the boy would stand up again and be able to hold her.

***

She had seen a passage when she was reading a book about Asperger’s Syndrome. The passage had explained that people with Asperger’s Syndrome generally suffered from “love disorder”. Some believe that a small percentage of people with Asperger’s Syndrome have an IQ far exceeding that of ordinary people, but their EQ is much lower than that of ordinary people. In terms of emotions, they are more like children with blank slates.

That’s why Qiao Lan was so sure that Tan Mo would never like her. He would rely on her, take care of her, and protect her, but he would not like her like a man likes a woman because Tan Mo did not understand this type of emotion.

Some say that some people with Asperger’s Syndrome will never understand what love is in their entire lives. Perhaps a number of people will understand, but in some cases, people on the higher scale of AS are too paranoid and sometimes overarchingly possessive. With this came a large amount of trouble that came from being too obsessed with one person. Few people could understand or handle such love, which leads to tragedy.

The beginning was really interesting and the plot was very original. It's my first time reading a novel where the ML has a mental disorder and can't walk in the beginning. The novel was engaging but halfway through I got bored of it...

Halfway through the novel, the translator stopped translating the novel and I read it on another website but the translation on that website really fried my brain. I'm not used to MTLs so it was torture getting through the 2nd half of the novel.

After the MC and ML... more>> confess and get together, their are a lot of sweet moments and time for them to communicate and understand each other. There is a bit of drama but I felt that most of this novel was just the MC and ML falling in love and just being happy together by supporting each other with one another so problems. <<less

A very good read! I really appreciate how the FL made effort to make it clear to ML thay honesty and clear communication is important between the two of them. The external factors of their relationship remained external and were resolved pretty much quickly and both of their issues were taken seriously by both of them. They heavily depended on each other but with that, they grew maturely and developed nicely as characters. The FL also was pretty much clear headed and quick to action all the time despite other... more>> people obviously trying to drive their relationship apart.

There were also no actual villain/villainess in the story except that FL's Qiao family were tr*sh level annoying but they're irrelevant. <<less

Such a nice read! Please read the translation by Green Tea first. Sadly the translator only translate until chapter 71 or so, and continued by Tea Novel, which im pretty sure is just machine translated. Had to stop reading at chapter 92. Good thing that by chapter 71 or so, tan mo and qiao lan are already together, so for me I can just stop reading there.

I enjoyed reading this story till around the 30th chapter and from then on the translation got worse like it was a slightly edited MTL chapter so I went to compare it with the MTL version and it was basically copy and pasted with a few corrections. I tried to power through since I liked the story but eventually dropped the novel at ch 57 since reading it became more of a chore rather than reading it for enjoyment.

Honestly wouldn't recommend reading this if you want quality translations but if... more>> you don't mind MTL translations then go ahead since the story itself is pretty good and it's the reason I still gave it 3 stars. <<less

This novel is so dry, I need water. There are too many unnecessary sentences and details that make the novel incredibly slow and tedious to read and unnecessary paragraphs of side character thoughts that don't matter. At chap. 10, I was bored 4 chapters ago and found myself starting to skim through chapters. I love the MC and ML a lot, great characters, but I am finding it difficult to continue reading all of this unnecessary info, and I barely got onto the novel. Also, there is wayyyy too much... more>> dog blood drama. I find myself skipping many chapters that give incredible detail on how much someone hates someone else, what they think about their actions, their past thoughts about the character, cussing someone out, etc. Really irritating. <<less

Cute! Cute! Cute!

I absolutely loved it, the coming-of-age story of these two cuties is too great. The ML has gone through a lot but his actions are never too much (unlike other ML).

I’m not sure how accurate this book is with Asperger’s. Other than that the translation on the first half was amazing. From chapter 71 onward, the translation messes up with pronouns a lot and it is a bit confusing.

I LOVE THIS!! I don't know how to properly review books, but I should say that this work is well done. The FL and the ML is so precious that you just want to treasure them lest they would get hurt. I love how the character development was done and how they are helping each other in their own ways.

If you guys are looking for a slow romance, I'd like to recommend this to you. Honestly, I'm still smiling rn because of this. I'd love to know more about the... more>> story with their child but sadly that's the end of the story. I'm very satisfied on how the main story ends, cause finally the knot on the ML's heart has come to an end. Wuwuwu I'm so happyyyyy!

PS: It supossed to be 5 star but I can't change it. Btw the translation got a bit messy in their pronouns but still readable ^_^ <<less

Satisfying to read! Before you read this, I gotta warn you that after tea novel take over the translation got worse but it's readable. Also you must remember that Tan Mo and his roommates are MALES while Qiao Lan and her roommates are FEMALES.

But I am curious about the lovelife of both Male protagonist roommates (in their university). If you read this carefully it's have shounen ai elements in extras only. (Kong Sha have unrequited love to Xie Hongyi).

It's another transmigration story but for me this is one of those few ones that has substance. The content of the original novel does not really affect or takes place in this story. It has no significance whatsoever. It only introduced the main characters and the rest was done out of the ML and FL's initiative and natural reaction.

I feel the uniqueness in this because of mental health. It does not glorify mental health but it introduced this rarely tackled matter. The ML has Asperger's Syndrome and crippled legs. He... more>> struggles to cope in his everyday life. No, more like he does not even have the drive to get by everyday and was just barely surviving.

One of the things I like about this novel is that the emotions were real. It has a closer feel to reality. The FL and ML are not invulnerable to pain and hurt. They do get hurt, embarrassed, and also feel at a loss. They make mistakes and they have flaws. They were not written to be perfect but to simply convey their story.

The only downside here is the translation quality. Around chapter 70 or 80 (not sure) the quality of the translation became shitty. Almost MTL. He and She were interchanged and some long dialogues sounded nonsense. But I persisted. It's bearable. <<less

Reading this novel gave me a complicated feelings; It was like a hell for the first half, because MC's family (and some people in her high school) are so unreasonably written as villains and made me wonder if there are really people like them IRL, but the second half was so sweet and nice to read because we get to see them grow up as both individually and a couple

I only have one regret though, that the second translator barely edited his/her (I'm guessing) MTL. There are so many grammar... more>> mistakes; From as basic as mixing 'him/her' (literally happened in every chapters), changing the narration into first point of view out of nowhere, or mixing their name around in the same paragraph./sentence. Granted, it is still understandable, but at some point I felt like I'm not reading a novel anymore because most of the details are left out due to hard to understand sentences. <<less

This story has drawn me in since the beginning. I would really recommend you guys to give this novel a try. It is quite rare to find such an entertaining story with a healthy relationship, and you get to see their character development throughout the story. This story emphasizes the importance of communication and understanding. I like the fact that the MC is not the typical mary sue type since she got transmigrated but we can see her pain while trying to work hard to get out of her situation.... more>> Although
Spoiler

I would like to learn more about why she got transmigrated or at least have some moment of panic or any kind of reaction for being transmigrated. It seems that being transmigrated did not serve much of a purpose to the story except the little information she had on the MC and some of her work/school experience.

[collapse]
Nevertheless, I still enjoyed it. In the end, there were some chapters that were hard to keep the flow because of the pronouns, but it was still understandable. I am glad that the translators gave us the chance to read this gem. So, thank you, translators! :) <<less

What a beautiful story, really deserving its high rating. Both MC and ML were likeable. They slightly remind me of Mu Xiaoya and Bai Chuan from My Husband With Scholar Syndrome. Both MC had a sunny and bright personality but their family condition were different. Mu Xiaoya was raised in a loving and warm family but Qiao Lan wasn't. In her past life, she was an orphan and after transmigrating, she had a toxic family who made her think that it was better to be an orphan. It's a pity... more>> though because I really want MC to know how it felt to have a kind parent. But if it was the case, she won't be dependent to ML.

ML's condition was also different from Bai Chuan. While Bai Chuan was raised in a loving and warm family, Tan Mo came from a broken family. His father was a sc*m and a cheater. His mother loved him dearly but she died early because of an accident and left ML with a deep trauma until he met MC.

In this story, I love how MC and ML depended on each other. No doubt about ML, MC was always number one priority in his heart but MC who had a normal life also always made ML her number one priority. She didn't even care being called an exclusive person because she rarely spent times for other people and rather spent her time with ML. I don't think MC was pitiful though because like ML, she also relied to ML. Moreover, ML was the first person in her current life that gave her warm despite of his limited EQ.

If I have a dissatisfaction towards this story, it's just about this novel title. Why depict ML as a villain? Even in the original story, ML wasn't a bad person. He even loved the original FL wholeheartedly and often helped her until his tragic death. The ones who deserved to be called a villain were people around him who bullied him and hurted him just because he was mentally and physically ill. <<less

Um, this is a fairly standard novel of the trope female lead helps disabled MC. What it does well is the initial set up of bond between our two mcs, you see their affection grow and it is developed very well. But I feel by the end it just feels like the regular cnovel and I have to say her parent were too cartoonish but I get the discrimination and some other things they do aren't actually unlikely, still a very annoying element and very cnovel evil parents stock characters.

So far 4.9/5

I took 0.1 out bc I hate misunderstandings the most but the author really made it so that even tho I hated those misunderstandings, I couldn't help but want to stay tuned to find out how things would settle down. And I was hoping for them to get together before I run out of chapters but I guess that's not happening lol

The pacing and the story is too slow. Too much fillers. Too much details. The FL pushes things until it's really bad. Like she know that her family are planning to marry her off to a rich person (trafficking) and other bad stuff, she keeps saying that she should move away and all but doesn't until things get too out of hand. And her mother also tries to actively sell her off and is instead afraid that she (mother) will lose money. Her mother places money above the FL. If... more>> you skip all that and just read the important parts of the story its a solid 3.

Spoiler

The ML stands at Chapter 61

[collapse]

Eh. I'm dropping it, it's not for everyone, too much of selling her to a rich person stuff. <<less

I really like this because there's a respect of boundaries and FL genuinely wants ML to better ar communicating and not in the invasive way. I also liked the part where she had a dilemna after ML "learned and imitated" expressions and emotions. Yes it made it him better with getting along with others; at the same time, it felt unreal because it might make ML feel like he's living a lie.

Absolutely worth it, it's so good!

Loved learning about his disease and it's changed my view completely about mental illness.

It's a bit slow the romance but I loved every part of it even just the start of the friendship it's unique and beautiful and so fluffy my heart is warm and it's officially my fav chinese novel since the beginning of this year.

Almost dropped at the beginning bcs of her situation of not remembering anything and difficult situation but oh god, I'm so glad I kept going 😍

This is such a EFFING GEM.

Their relationship is so precious, like I can't 😌😌😌😌. What I like about it's story is also how it approaches disabilities and mental illnesses, also how the FL approaches this and does research to understand ML. I also like how she doesn't fully understand him (if that makes sense). People are hard to understand and it takes time to familiarise with their person, and I like how this was approached in this novel.

Can't wait for the other chapters to be translated!

I already read the mtl-edited of this novel and it’s totally worth it!!! Obviously one of the best chinese novel!! The plot is rare (definitely not your usual deuce bag CEO rich ML pursuing poor naive FL), not to heavy but not to light either. The ML and the FL are so likeable.

my only complain is I’m getting tired by the enormous amount of this novel praising tan mo and qiao lan beauty. Well, every novel do that so I’m not really complaining. Somehow, I’m quite curious tho, is being... more>> handsome and beautiful are truly very advantageous and important in china? <<less
