that gut-wrenching scene where the MC’s lovingly cooked food got tossed out because the ML had requested it be thrown away. Ouch!

the MC’s relationship with his biodad didn’t get much attention from the author. Only told, not showed type of a thing.

And the MC is literally stripped of all other emotions. So, for his revenge he is ready to do anything: he doesn't mind pretending to be pitiful, doesn't mind using people, doesn't mind being humiliated, doesn't mind selling himself if necessary. His bottom line? I wanted to see it - and when it appeared, it made me even more interested because it made the MC vulnerable. So the question was: what will be stronger?

The MC does manage to pull the ML to his side and get the ML's help in his revenge (even without sacrificing much, actually), However, it is another pitfall for the MC. Because the ML helps him, protects him, deals with his horrible family for him... but the ML's heart is occupied by a person who disappeared ten years ago... and the ML keeps waiting for his return. And no, he doesn't use the MC as a substitute - and he even has some feelings for the MC. But the person he waits for is still more important for him, more important than anything and anyone.

The revenge on the MC's former family is just a part of the plot, and not a big one. I liked how they were dealt with, especially the elder brother. The father is an idiot and the real young master is a psycho and a sadist, not complicated, but Luo Wenhao, the elder brother, in my eyes was actually the worst one, and I felt happy that the author seemed to think the same. The message that condoning evil is no better than doing evil comes across very clearly in the story, and it is very close to my heart.

Another part of the plot is the MC's real family (very sad, very touching). And there is also the evil medical experiments subplot that I didn't particularly enjoy but it tied the loose ends from the MC's previous life very well. This is one more thing I like about the author's writing: she really paid attention to everything. Nothing happened for no reason, everything that was mentioned made sense. Even the fact that the MC initially approached the ML to use him was addressed eventually in the way that made me very happy.

It expends its own energy to give MC chances again and again, to the point that it loses almost all its energy and has to go to hibernation. It also breaks so many rules because even though it's supposed to be cold and emotionless, it's got so much kindness and compassion for the MC and ML.

In the end, as MC and ML are dying of old age after a life of love and happiness, it finally gets to reap the benefits of its hardwork, but it decides not to convert the love and faith MC and ML had for each other into energy, because according to it, that love and faith is more precious than energy. I do not have words for how touched I feel, I feel like I'll never be able to come across a system as good as this one.

You will need tissues. A ton of em. I've only reached ch22 but every chapter was so touching I can't stop BAWLING.

And I bet there will be more heartfelt/touching moments in further chapters. So pls get ur tissues ready

ML helps MC with his revenge against his family. The process was much quicker and easier than MC expected. MC falls in love with ML but although ML has feelings for MC, he won't accept MC. For the past 16 years, ML has been waiting for the person he loved. The person disappeared and promised to see him again in 15 years. The time has passed but he has not given up.

The person ML is waiting for is actually MC. When MC was 15 years old, a system sent him 10 years into the past when he was 5 years old. His physical teenage body was sent back, so he was able to see his other self. Since he did not want to affect his past, he stayed away from his house and encountered ML. ML was 16 and had been kidnapped. MC rescued him and also picked up a kitten, Ribs. They stayed/played together for months at ML's place in the capital.

However, the time to return to his timeline is coming up. MC tells ML to forget about him but ML confesses his love to MC. MC then promises to see him in 15 years, by then MC should be 20 years old and be able to travel. ML is actually 11 years older than MC, so by then he would be 31. ML promises to wait.

On the day MC was to leave, he was shot while protecting ML. Because his life was in danger, he was pulled back to his timeline. The system went dormant and his memory of the system was wiped along with memories of ML. That's why MC did not remember ML.

In MC's first life, when he died at the age of 31, ML was notified by the system of MC's death and revealed MC's identity. ML uncovered the truth about MC and killed the people who ab*sed him. ML also exchanged the remainder of his life energy to allow MC to be reborn 10 years in the past. Without this energy, the system would not have been able to give MC the option to be reborn.

Luo Wencheng won my heart at the moment when he accepted the cat food to eat. I love characters who are ready to do whatever it takes and pay the price to achieve what they want, and it is another apsect of this story that I liked very much: nothing is free there. Being reborn for the MC is just a start, every next step has to be paid for, and the price is quite steep.

what should he have done? Should he have forgotten his promise, choose the new because the old was too long to come? My heart was broken because "the new" was our MC but objectively speaking, isn't the ML's choice honorable? I have to admit I kinda wanted the ML to hurt a bit more after the secret was revealed - and then there was the extra. The ML paid his dues, he paid them in the previous life.

MC died and was reborn 10 years prior to his death, found a backer (Ml) and destroyed the luo family.

After MC started living with him he looked after him, took MC's care and helped him in every possible way, when he realised his growing fond feelings for MC he tried to distance himself for MC, I really cried at that time. But I don't hate him he wanted to keep his promise and wait for his love who he met during his teen years, thank god it was MC either I don't know if I would have completed the story. After knowing that MC was the same person his personality took a drastic change, he turned from a cold caring ML to sweet coquetish ml

Or at least that was I thought until we get to see the Extras.

I thought you were just watching. I didn't know you had helped so much too. Truly the Greatest Helper that helps MC and ML get the Happily Ever After they deserve to have!!!

IT could just ignore them, but IT DIDN'T!!!

What I like the most about him is that he knew ML's gentleness, and he used his misery (getting hurt and injured, both intentionally and unintentionally) to gain goodwill. But even so, he did that in moderation--not only because too much will become annoying but also because he wasn't comfortable lying to ML. The prices he had to pay to stay alive satisfied my sadistic heart, and I love that it was never forgotten as a daily occurrence. I like MC's character in this, not overtly cunning, still has a heart, and high EQ.

He was first shown as a common domineering gong, but man, I love the fact that he loves someone so determinedly that even though he came to like MC, he stood strong with his first and only love. He has a soft spot not only for MC but also his subordinates. He knew his heart was wavering because of MC and he took precaution early on to diminish his feelings. He cared about MC, but he couldn't put MC as no. 1 so he made sure MC knew that too. This character of him is really the point where I'm really fine if the story ended as BE/tragedy, but thankfully his love was actually MC himself, this involved the rebirth and system sub-plot.

I've been looking for a story about moving on from old love, and this story shows great progress for this plot, only to basically end up in BE (since ML stayed true to his first love). And then, when ML knows about MC as his first love, their relationship progress engagingly. I cannot type it exactly, but I love the how their relationship develop from beginning to end.

I cried when Rib (Cat) Died. She was precious existence to the main Characters and to us. They should have added tragedy tag for killing one of our (MY) favorite Character/Animal.

I cried even harder when after Rib's death MC was telling ML, he would definitely fine someone else and be happy with them and ML to not care about him and then suddenly he brust into tear hugging ML asking him to consider him for one last time......... dude that emotion was so well and so beautifully written, I just couldn't stop my tears from flowing.

At that time, my soul was screaming to accept MC and not let him go. His 1st love was right before him and him unable to recognize it and even hurt MC feeling...... ufffffffffff

Even if MC wasn't his first love, I swear I wouldn't have minded him going back to his promises and accept MC.

But well, ML didn't and actually it was good that he didn't. I love ML who are loyal to their lover to death or even after death and I don't usually like typical tropes of replacing old one with new one. Being Substitute of other. If ML had accepted MC at tha time, it would have looked like that

because the other person involve was MC and ML was at fault with his misleading action...... how can anyone not fall for such treatment and actions..... very misleading and the most frustrating is that MC being the one he's waiting for but he couldn't recognize and hurted MC feeling
