I actually liked reading this novel despite it having some features that I usually dislike such as genius children that act like adults or super talkative and noisy characters (*cough* Fan Yao *cough*). These small pet peeves of mine were, however, overshadowed by the good things so it was easier to ignore them.

The plot itself if full of dog blood, but not to the extent where you think it's too much. Admittedly, there are a few things that are unrealistically exaggerated, mainly how extreme some characters are. Fan Yao (ML's... more>> secretary/assistant) is just plain annoying, Li Chao (ML's friend, part of a side CP) has such a violently explosive temper it's a surprise he hasn't been jailed yet for battery/assault, ML's big bro has such extreme facial paralysis that it's already comical.

Apropos comical, big brother Tang and his lover president Duan (also a facial paralysis victim) gave unexpected comedic relief. It's not the typical slapstick humor but rather humor derived from people being too serious. It's a breath of fresh air.

There are a lot of other ridiculous points in this novel, such as the ridiculous number of characters whose three views are crooked in the most disgusting way. Then there is the weirdly high number of homosexuals in this novel. It's like every family has at least one gay family member. It's unrealistic as f, but also funny at the same time since it allows many weird pairings.

Compared to the many ridiculous side characters the main CP seems strangely normal. You have the normal, virtuous and gentle MC and the "smiling tiger" ML of whom you barely see the smiling tiger image as he only shows his gentle and doting and earnest side to the MC and the kids. I like the ML. He is a good guy, an angel compared to the scum ex-bf. But then again, anyone would be an angel compared to the tr*shy scum ex.

This novel is basically a Cinderella story where a neglected and abused MC finds love and happiness with a rich and handsome prince. A bit clichées, but I read this novel exactly for it's clichée setting. <<less

A warm story, about the journey to find someone better. At first stage, it's about MC and his toxic relationship+toxic in law. It's hurt full to see the soft MC. But then MC meet someone who can knock his head, make him sober and end his relationship to start a new page. And this person is the ML. Know each other and fall in love in the warm way, make me think that ML is a competent third party 😆

A typical fantasy. Previous reviewer is right, everyone is gay.

It doesn't deserve 5 stars at all if we're just talking about the writing, plot, characters, etc.

But I was personally looking for this warm domestic life vibe and fantastical romance to help me get out of dark days. So 5 stars it is.

I think this story is quite interesting to read.

The MC personality is like a older widowed woman while ML was like a prince type. The relationship between MC and ML is very good and I enjoyed that.

but there are some things that I can't get over but maybe other people will like.

There are other side couples that was okay for me until the two children grew up and started a relationship, I honestly couldn't get past that and this totally ruined the whole novel for me.

I MTLed the rest of the novel which was easy to read.

The MC is gentle and caring which I loved. Others might think his personality is too soft but it's not. In fact, he's quite strong esp. How he deals with his ex-bf aka the scumbag as once he decides something, he doesn't go back on his decision. I understand how he didn't break up right at the beginning bc of how long they are together and first love.

The ML is so gentlemanly. Loved it! He always makes sure the... more>> MC is comfortable. I loved their interactions so much as well as the two buns. I loved their family dynamics!!!! The main reason this novel is so good. Highly recommended!!!!

Btw, the part that will break your three-view will make you want to hit the characters that are involved so badly. But they are just right together tbh so they won't harm others. <<less
