This novel was really good and nothing like other cultivation novels. There was no face-slapping, no major betrayals and it was pretty straight forward. Which is why I absolutely loved it. It's a peace-loving cultivation world. No major conflicts between sects.

Its the slow burn romance for me. I really liked the fact that it wasn't love at first sight between the ML and FL. They literally started off as friends who traveled together and gradually realized they liked each other as more than just friends.

In the beginning the FL, Kong... more>> Hou, is a child and I like how the author describes her as she is growing. She never loses that naivety that she had as a child. Her trust in storybooks never diminished. I absolutely love Kong Hou's interactions with her sect, master, he senior brothers and junior brothers. Her master and two senior brothers basically raised her since she was seven and they are very close. Her sect is full of easy-going people who seemingly just wanna have a good time without any worries. But in actuality, when push comes to shove, they'll clap back twice as hard.

The ML, Huan Zhong aka Zhong Xi, is awkward and shy. I just like how he interacts with the FL. There are times he doesn't know how to react, and it cracks me up.

Overall, its a good novel and if you give it a chance, you won't regret it. <<less

As expected of YXDY. Another absolutely wonderfully written novel. The romance will give you cavities, especially since I feel in comparison to the other novels this one was much more innocent and pure. I felt really.... melancholic in certain parts of the novel. Some themes explored when the characters are working through their blockages really left a profound impact. I don't even know why I had initially hesitated for so long before picking it up but I'm glad I gave it a try despite my gut reluctance.

I like that it doesn't have any complicated drama. I'm not really that fond and familiar of cultivation stories but the story's explanation about the system and different sects were not hard to understand.

Like what the previous reviews stated this is a feel good cultivation story. Slow burn romance but when it finally accumulated it taste so sweet lol.

Kong Hou. I like her very much. Her unchanging straight forward attitude is very attractive and adorable. She draws in people and due to her honesty and straightforward opinion (also her extreme... more>> luck in meeting people) and she unknowingly cause positive effects in a greater scale. She's also proactive, luv it! Girly didn't hesitate when he grabbed his belt hahahahaha.

About the ML, he is also lovable!!! His only flaw is his possessiveness, which doesn't really appeal as a flaw. Honestly. It just makes him look adorable and funny.

I like the relationship between sects, especially Kong Hou's sect.

It's not really a complex story. I recommend this if you're looking for something light. Slow burn romance. Comedy. Cultivation. Doting ML!!! <<less

I don't really have much words other than I'm really glad I read this story. I love the FL and ML especially, but every other character also has their own special charm that I can't help but appreciate. I love that unlike other cultivation stories, there is no major revenge plot, or a bunch of "white lotus" girls constantly opposing the FL at every turn. Fantastic novel!

It is an extremely refreshing read after dozens of cultivation novels filled with tragedy, power struggles, shitty people, etc.

This novel is of course not for everyone, my honest recommendation is for you to read this novel if you either:
- enjoy or tolerate romance/josei novels
- have read a couple too many cultivation novels and need some kind of palatte cleanser

This novel is really sweet and positive most of the time so don't expect it to be like other cultivation novels at all.

I passed on this a couple times because the synopsis sounds so boring. So glad the story is much more interesting than the synopsis!

There’s no angst or darkness or drama or cliches.. It’s a cute, feel good story about a really nice girl (kind & sweet without seeming too boring) who meets a cold but sweet guy..

if you’re undecided about starting this, just give it a try, it’s a quick read with a happy ending

Wholesome xianxia
After reading all the stuff about xianxia worlds being a damn snake pit, the world shown in this book feels like a balm on your soul. Together with a plot that doesnt suffer from overused cliches and fillers filling, constant interesting interactions between FL and ML, funny jokes and a general feel of a good parody, this book is almost as great as "My Disciple Died Yet Again".

But then again, MDDYA is my favorite one, so I might be a bit biased.

But really, this book is like cute kittens sometimes. So adorable.

I think the Cold Love Interest tag is a bit misleading. ML is cold to other people but very warm to FL. Not the ISWAK type of ML.

I'm not really a fan of xinxia but I enjoyed reading how the author build up the novel setting. I love how almost all of the side characters dote on the ML and FL! I love love love the sects! It gives you HP feels where you imagine yourself as part of the houses.

My only complain is I didn't see more of their...

I LOVE THE MC SO MUCH MAN. SHE'S SO UNIQUE!!! THE ML TOO IS SO ADORABLE!!!

The plot is good, but need to keep in mind that not taking the story seriously and enjoy the comedy and their interaction. It's really good and not force so much just like other. The ending is happy end, and it connect each with some little hints that the author gave in previous chapter. The only thing that missed probably about the "pendant" that in early chapter which the MC got seems related to the... more>> ML, but we never got the full story behind that pendant. And maybe the author forgot or what, but t doesn't matter, the matter is the continuing story and their relationship!!

What an amazing story, not so much passionate romance thickness, but cute fluffy teasing romance, typical shoujo lol. Anyway, happy end for all!! Read it! <<less

I so love this one. It easily took the 2nd place of my all-time favorite novel. It's a light read, except for very limited scenes, with fluffy feels. The characters are all adorable. The FL is the apple of the eye of everyone around her. Although she is being spoiled, she is still very clever and knows how to play her cards well. Even though she was considered a genius, her character was not all perfect right from the start but we were able to see her progress. As to... more>> the ML, it was nice to see how he developed from being a cold person to being able to feel more human emotions. He's totally become a henpecked guy, it was funny how he's occasionally acting cute and shameless.

Given that there was only a very little summary and I didn't read the reviews beforehand, I was actually skeptic at the start and did not consider him as the ML right away since his character was quite doubtful. I am very pleased that the novel did not turn out to have a reverse harem unlike other novels. It was nice to see how they were really a match made in heaven and no other characters were able to dare to get in between.

I love how their romance slowly developed over time during their journey. I think it's very cute and sweet whenever the FL is calling out the name of the ML. The ML on the other hand was always unconsciously eating vinegar and being possessive over the FL. It was funny that they were already acting like little husband and wife even when they have not yet realized their feelings. After the got together, I always felt secondhand embarrassment on how they shamelessly flirt with each other even when other people are around.

I appreciate that the novel is about their little adventures and it was not like they were fighting a specific villain from start to finish. Honestly, I can't think of anything bad about this one. It does not disappoint and it's totally worth the high rating. I'd love to recommend this to everyone and I might read it again sometime soon. <<less

I reallllly recommend this!

This is not your typical xuanxia story where villain/antagonist should all be killed. The story revolves on individual struggles, growth and principles.

I like how the MC maintained her logic amonsgst the struggle on the throne and in the harem in her childhood. And how the story unfolded on how she was blessed by the heavens and she didn't took advantage of it, more on it made some things easier for the people around her. Her master, fellow disciples and the sect has a different way of cultivating... more>> which is really uncommon in a cultivation novel and they are all adorable characters! Relatable and chill peeps.

The ML, most of the times was portrayed as OP against antagonist but considering his cultivation level even at the start of the journey with the MC, it was understandable. His character growth along is so natural with regards to Kong Hous' usual antics. I love this couple!

Some may be an antagonist but they have bottom lines. This will make you understand the importance of knowing two sides of the story. <<less

Dayum, this is truly a "feel-good" story.

Every chapter never failed to leave me snickering or with a smile on my face.

PUREEEEE fluffiness, low-angst, some thoughtful stories, and a TON of really great humor.

I don't necessarily disagree with all the 5 star reviews since this is for the most part an incredibly good novel but the last 30 chapters ruined it for me personally and made me kinda dislike it, it's a really good story so I'll still rate it 4 stars, just the ending left me with a bad taste.

The story is mostly a lighthearted romance about a cute and optimistic little girl and her stoic love interest that travel around the world looking for a cure for his sickness.

Their adventures are... more>> relaxing and genuinely fun so you can't help but look forward to the next chapter with a smile and that was great, I loved the interactions between the two leads, the worldbuilding and the side characters.

Enemies are enemies but are also people, they have self respect and a bottom line, the "righteous" cultivators are righteous, the world has a vibrant and good vibe, it's a feel good story.

So, why didn't I like the ending? Long story short, this was always a story about fate, a match "made in heaven", now, "chosen one" characters with a predetermined destiny can be compelling but not all of them are Anakin Skywalker, I honestly think that going against "the heavens" in an apparently useless struggle and then winning is way more interesting than being manipulated by a greater force (in this case people) and going with the flow for "the greater good", it's a narrative element that I find extremely obnoxious.

This is even more true in this case because "Ascending do not Disturb" never felt like a story about cultivating and fighting evil.

When the MC was revaled to be "the real chosen one" instead of the ML and received like 4 powerups in 5 chapters just so she could fight against the last boss I found it really annoying.

Yue Xia Die Ying always tries to implement some of her values regarding women in all of her works, themes like gender equality, women supporting other women instead of kicking when the other is down are ofter talked about and while I find it all admirable and liked how she implemented her reflections using various female characters (as I did in both To be a Virtuos Wife and Eight Treasures Trusseau) in this novel I think uplifting the MC so much was unnecessary.

There was nothing wrong with having the ML fight the villain 1v1 after she healed him and he passed his tribulation, that would have been a more natural development instead of having the MC going into the hyperbolic time chamber and then adding a legendary beast on the villain side just so they could fight a 2v2, it's a pointless plot development.

In conclusion all is wrong in this story is that chinese authors like "dragon and phoenix" storylines too much and are willing to include that narrative even in this kind of chill slice of life romance novel to the point it becomes detrimental to their own stories. <<less

This novel is sooo good. Really! The perfect novel to read after a heavy read.

While you read the novel, you get this warm feeling and laugh a lot too.

I mean, look at all reviews, and you will know that already! Few novels get so many good reviews. First author that I felt that have good ideals, and knows what a good person really looks like.

And doesn't try to force some shitty jurassic principals such as : Woman are all hysterical except for the MC, woman are all jealous of each... more>> other, and wish that others would die so that she could be queen, and so on... *eyes rolling*

  • Characters are complex, with good and bad traits, but not to the point that you're confused in the whole reading because of it.
  • FL, is my favorite protagonist so far. Strong, have femininity but is not super vain, she get scare sometimes, but overcomes that for her loved ones, perceptive but not a genius. Really, like a real woman. Not some messed up ideals of how woman should be. Loved the way the author wrote all womans in the novel, even the one who was a little jealous is a likable and funny character. I aprecciate it so much, because c-novels often portraits woman in a terrible way just to show how op the MC is, and what they think is a "real strong woman" do not exist in this world. I don't mind this so much in the novels, it is just annoying, but now that i've read one that don't do that I'm soooo in love with it ! In all the novelsthat i've read so far with female protagonists, you can't find phrases like "Oh, she is so different of other woman who can't control her emotions" "omg, I can't believe she is not crying and trowing a tantrum right now" like all woman are incompetent and MC is different and adored Bc she is not "like other woman" seriously. People need to stop with this depressive way of thinking. But the point is : THIS NOVEL IS REALLY ABOVE ALL OTHERS IN THIS REGARD !
  • While you will find some annoying characters, this is my first time liking characters that don't like our protagonist. Because they were not made only to be slapped.
  • The age thing with the ML was not a problem for me, he doesn't overstep the bounderies and because this is a Xianxia novel

    things go more smoothly. (Same mentality of a vampire-human romance, the age gap is huge, but the context tell us that is nothing like 40 year old creeps that likes to date kids.)

Both MC and ML were pretty nice. I think the plot was nice, and the characters and setting were fleshed out well. Sometimes, the worldbuilding in cultivation novel really throws me off. I don't read many, so when I get confused, I just drop the novel, but this was really well done. My favorite part of the novel was the characterization of MC's sect - Splendid Cloud Sect. I just really adore the values that Splendid Cloud Sect emphasizes. They are all about unity, good food, and enjoying life. From... more>> an objective standpoint, the best parts of the novel were probably the worldbuilding and the plot. About the romance - it is there, it is good, it is not overdone, it is not cringey, but I have seen better. Some sections of the novel can be kind of slow. <<less

Overall plot rating: 3.0
Round up to 4.0 because I love the world setting. It's the most chill, relaxed, optimist cultivation world ever.

Average story and definitely not an action/adventure story we expected from xianxia. It's a cultivation world but so little detail with the cultivation, hhahaa..
It also get boring at times, well the FL got all the best thing ever and always.
The romance is cute before they got together, then got sappy when they finally got together. But I adore the pairing, they definitely a match made in heaven.

I love KH sect so much, they're carefree yet amazing. The characters also all very positive.
