In the last arc, the MC returns to the real world (his ultimate goal when he bonded with the system was always to return to his previous life). You discover, alongside the system, that the MC had a super shitty life, particularly when he was a child. The system repeatedly asks if he's sure that this world is the world he wants to choose to live in after leaving the system. In response, the MC explains that he may not have had a perfect life, but he fought for everything he's had and he is damn proud of the life he clawed out for himself, and would not change a thing.

You also discover the ML's true identity. The ML was a powerful second-generation that the MC grew up with, but the ML was selfish and fairly sociopathic. This led to him abandoning the MC during the moment that MC needed him most, causing the MC to blacken. Afterwords, the ML fell in love with the MC and always regretted not helping the MC, but the MC hated the ML even more than the people who bullied or abused him, and constantly plotted against the ML

This led to an increasingly twisted relationship, where the ML was happy to just keep the MC's attention on him, since the MC treated him differently than everyone else (the ML is the only one who the MC would unmask his true personality for) while the MC constantly fought against the ML. The ML would always quietly protect him in the dark, however. Both were heavily involved in the real world's political parties, and eventually the MC's car was tampered with, causing him to die in a car accident. The ML refused to take the MC off the machines, keeping him braindead but alive on ventilators for years, while the MC goes through the worlds with the system. The ML goes crazy and takes drugs/uses hypnotism, and somehow his soul basically forces his way into the MC's universes, going through the worlds with him. Everyone else in the real world just thinks that the ML is insane and can't accept the MC's death. When the MC chooses to return to the world, he revives without any memories, of the rea world or any of the other worlds they visited together, but staring into his lover's eyes he still retains the feelings they've accumulated across the worlds.

I know some people don't like the amnesia ending, but the MC's personality would NEVER have forgiven the ML. He's petty and holds a grudge and I personally love it. It's what helps him travel through the worlds abusing the gongs so well. This way, the MC and ML get a clean slate. It's a bit openended, but they are together, married, and I believe they will be happy in the real world!

amnesia endings always piss me off and any time a story ends with the MC forgetting everything, it's going to drop the novel by at least one if not two stars in my personal rating system. What is the point of all those experiences and character growth when the MC is basically reset to the person he was before those experiences happened? It negates the validity of the mc's entire journey and it's lazy writing on the authors part.

The ending was abrupt, and there was no epilogue that truly dealt with the "reconciliation" between them. In MC's eyes, they had an antagonistic relationship, and there was no love lost between them. MC chooses to go back to his real world despite the possibility of death- because he doesn't know if ML would have pulled the plug on his comatose self while declared brain dead. MC wakes up, but without his memories. I initially thought that he chose to feign amnesia so that they could have a fresh start, because he heard ML's voice and knew who he was, as familiar as he is with the lives they shared. Then, I speculated, he only temporarily lost his memories and will recover them later, slowly reconciling the image of this heartbroken man, who cares for him, with the indifferent man who watched on as he suffered and slowly descended into paranoia. I struggle to think of a truly clean slate for MC who never remembers, because that goes against the entire foundation of MC's life. His experiences and hate made him who he is, and losing that would unmake him. MC admits this himself when he chooses to relive his life in the last arc without making changes, because he is satisfied with who he is, even in spite of the anguish and misery he faced growing up. The true ending is up for debate, as the official story ends at the scene where MC wakes up.

ML's side of the story is revealed at the end, painting him as a traumatized man who fell victim to love, trapped in a twisted love/hate relationship because MC is the only one who makes him feel alive. It is... a one-sided love.

At the end, I questioned whether MC truly didn't know or rather chose to suppress the idea that his anonymous online friend was in fact, the man he hated. But I always thought he knew the identity of ML in his various mission worlds. ML's fear of thunder is not uncommon, but MC has seen him at his most vulnerable moments one too many times. The fact that he would accept ML's love in some worlds despite abusing him to death in others- proves that MC learned to accept him even if he did not truly love him. There is potential for something to sprout- affection, care, love- with how long ML accompanied MC. At least, that's what I believe. (They're both abnormal in the head, though, so true love may be impossible after all.)

The MC was born in a rich family, but his parents were killed by his uncle and aunt. They took everything and send him to an orphanage, but later adopted him to use him as a blood bank for their sick son. He was treated coldly at home, bullied in school and betrayed by his only friend. For years he had to swallow his pride and endure humiliation before he finally got revenge. His uncle and aunt got sentenced to death for all their crimes, but I am kind of disappointed that they got to live in luxury for so many years only to get a quick death. To the end they didn't even regret their actions.

The ML and MC was married in their original world, but they had a love-hate relationship. The ML was born in a powerful, but dysfunctional family. His father had a mistress and his mother only cared about his achievements. He met the MC, when they were children. He knew that the MC was used as a blood bank, but did nothing and only despised him for being naive and clueless. Later he saw the MC being bullied in school. The MC asked him for help, but he ignored him and left. With his status he could have stopped it with a word, but instead he just informed the security guard about it.

The ML regretted everything after finding out that the MC was actually the pen pal that he had been confiding in. But at this point it was too late. The MC intensely hated him and kept targeting him. The ML didn't dare to reveal the truth to him and only helped him in secret. The MC did everything to hurt him and only felt happy seeing him in pain, so the ML indulged him. He even married the MC to protect him, even though he knew that the MC only treated it as a political marriage.

After the MC got in a car accident and went into a coma, the ML became depressed and took drugs. His friend tried to help him by letting him enter the MC's consciousness to stimulate him. That is why he appeared in every world that the MC traveled to. I admit that he is truly sincere, but it is still heartbreaking that he only stood by and watched the MC slowly reaching the breaking point. I know that he he had no obligation to help the MC and that he did everything to make up for it, but I still resent him.

it turns out that ML was the one diving into MC's consciousness and going through his imaginations of all these fast wear worlds in order to revive MC's mind. So there wasn't really any system; there was just ML trying to save MC. Ahhh its so heartbreaking to realize that they never really loved each other in the real world, even though MC is searching for his believed lover throughout all the worlds.

I hated the cultivation arc. I didn't like the ending or the bonus ending. Just tr*sh. A lot of chapters put into an arc that didn't deserve it. I would've preferred a junior brother raising cultivation arc than this two body, one soul plot.

I know he's supposed to be professional but his back story really makes him unable to love. I disagree with one of the reviewers about the amnesia. He doesn't just forget the worlds and his experience. He forgets everything. He gets a completely clean slate. He doesn't even know who he is. Obviously this novel was built for the ML getting a second chance not the MC, like we thought.

I loved the first arc - ancient China theme / siblings not related by blood. Mostly because Gu Chen chose to follow the original soul to scatter and because well.. ML is very appealing in this chapter, very cunning and very two faced.

The beast / orc arc was a little out of place... Kinda weird and disturbing. And the world just ended abruptly. Even though MC can have kids in that arc... He somehow didn't? Does that mean they never had sex? Idk. It's kinda fuzzy.

They most dog blood drama arc was the same blood type arc where ML needed a heart and MC gave it to him. That was just... If MC slapped a few white lotuses and green tea b*tches then I'd call that the ultimate dog blood NOVEL. Not just arc because gosh. That arc could've been a whole book of its own.

Yeah and that's it... I think. There's only a 100 chapters and it's a bit sad but I think it wasn't too bad. There's no HE or BE. I don't think that's bad though. All off the arcs point to the novel not being HE.

MCs personality and messed up mentality wouldn't allow for it. It's probably why author gave him amnesia so he can be able to love someone without wanting to cause them pain and torture...

It ended with our MC having amnesia was really great.

I was kinda always disappointed with some transmigation stories that have confusing endings that I find this novel so good.

The ML loved him so much despite being cold to him (bc our ML has mental problems and regrets) and even tho the MC hates him in the real world, the MC still looked for his traces in all the worlds. It shows that the MC likes him somehow but at the same time MC still hated the ML deeply. BUT it all ended with our MC not remembering a thing, and now the ML loves him so much and would surely treasure him more. I hope they would have a happy ending.
