For generations, the Su family has only boys. So when there is finally, finally, a girl born into the family, how can she not be the precious pearl in 10,000 eyes? If you guard her with your palm, what if she gets squashed? If you put her in your mouth, what if she melts?

What nonsense! Her father General Su is a famous figure across 6 countries and even if she is a girl, she may very well be a heroine who may not lose out to men.

Still, the folks in the capital have yet to reach a conclusion on what Miss Su is like after 16 years. Who knows? Perhaps they can… ask the pirates?

I really enjoyed the first three "a mistaken marriage" novels of this series but this one is disappointing. There's a fine line between courageous and plain reckless. Compared to Gu Yun, Su Su still has a looonnngg way to go. She is reckless, arrogant and selfish. Not my type of MC.

I have read Gu Yun's book, Zhou Qing's book, and this one. However, this one is my favorite by far. The MC cracks me up at every turn. She is definitely Gu Yun's daughter. Although she knows a lot from her upbringing, she does not have the experience that Gu Yun started off with, so it is a lot more fun watching her grow and make mistakes and learn on her own.

There are plenty of action scenes, mystery, and a bit of fantasy, which makes this a really exciting read.... more>> Several of the side characters are more fleshed out than in previous books, so the writer has come a long way. The comedy is much stronger than previous books as well.

If you like action-adventure stories, this is one definitely worth checking out. <<less

I love the book cause it's not overly focusing on about romance wooing, fighting maidens all those cliche. It's like its own story cause there is mystery and something about the sea :P. The mystery keep me in. I like the MC cause she know what she is doing, ha ha must be her mom's gene.

I really love this novel, we have the daughter of Gu Yun who is really interesting. She doesn't have her mother's arrogant militaristic personality, and although she may look lazy and easy going, she's actually very intelligent and very observant in perilous times while also going about in a calm manner. She trained under her mother and learned martial arts, military tactics, and reading expressions, all the while training with her mother's soldiers.

I'm looking forward to reading more! ≪3<3<3

I could stop reading this now and I would be satisfied. I could fill in the blanks with imagination but out of curiosity I will come back later to see how this story would unfold.

I couldn't help compare this story with it's predecessor and I have to say the way I chose to read this series is quite satisfactory. A generation of military counselor made me want to read this specific story. I wanted to see how it played out and I was not disappointed. Although the similarities are there,... more>> the writing on this one is more upbeat and clever. I loved the mother's story more but I enjoyed the daughter's story more. As I stated in my previous review, the author is sly he knows how to bait and make you want to read more.",) <<less
