Xu Qing died after a run-in with the zombies in the post-apocalyptic world. He then transmigrated into a ger with the same name as him in a different world. Ger or whatever, he is still the same man that he’s always been. It’s just that he’s known as the ugliest ger in the village, and he is also an orphan. But Xu Qing, who is overwhelmed with the joy of rebirth, does not care. With his spatial ability awakened in the previous world, he will raise chickens in the village, plant crops, and find someone to accompany him along the way. He will live a simple and peaceful life in this world. So, welcome home, Xu Qing!

Pretty average, but becomes boring quickly.

The premise is nice, the type of story I enjoy, but the execution fell way short. There are a lot more stories with similar premises that execute them in an interesting manner.

The MC is suuuuper passive and barely does anything himself. Stuff happens around him a lot, which he is only reacting to (he orders ML around a lot)

MC has his space power from the apocalypse, which he doesn't really use. Except cooking sth occasionally and giving his husband instructions for furniture and woodworking... more>> he also doesn't utilise his knowledge.

After the MC gets together with the ML he loses his personality and just changes quite a bit, he becomes even more passive. <<less

Smooth read it is not like other ancient mpreg novels where MC becomes tooo op by have speing waiter and all even tho this MC has spring water but there is no too opness except it removed his pimples and overall story is good

A solid 3.8, I hope I press the star right.

If you are looking for a farming novel, with MC that has space golden finger, good family dogblood drama, good business, and ML that has a great background, well this novel is NOT for you.

First, MC never actually use his space, like fully, just sprinkle a bit of spiritual water here and there, and he freaking got a fertile soil, quite abundance of supply and did nothing with it.

Second, there is absolutely no farming at all, really, none. It just a bit of "its farming season, I need to farm, I have done farming", did he use plow? What did he plant? Did he has surplus? Is it enough to pay for tax? Did he use spiritual water for it? None explain. Not that I care.. It's just the title has farming on it, I was kinda expected some farming involved, its like going to burger king and there is no burger or king on the menu

third, the dogblood is like 5%.. Or less, MC don't have anyone, no parents, no uncle, no grandparents, and ML split and married to mc's family, so he is the only one with that 5% problem.

Fourth, business start around ch 78, and there were only a tiny bit about it here and there.

Lastly, both of them didn't have any character development, they just stay as farmer/carpenter for the rest of their life, which is fine, maybe this is what they define happiness

But, if you want to read a slice of life novel, this is the one. Cute kids, slow pacing, full with dogfood etc, name it. There are some side couples too, I think around four?

and I hate Chen Qi, he was forced by his parents to divorce hid wife since he can't give birth, only that is, he is the one who's infertile, instead of telling the truth to his parents, he get married (reluctantly) to another ger due to his parents. Then when this ger were pregnant, he divorce him and tell the truth, and I was like, dude!! You should have said this s**t before, you have ruined your ex-wife and this ger life! Though his ex-wife remarried with him in extra.

It's just okay. I totally agree with the review saying that Apocalypse MC's background is pretty pointless. It's just to provide an excuse for his 'space' existence and his hunting skills for about 5 chapters at the start, after that it's no longer of any use.

This novel can hardly be called a danmei, because in this world there are only two genders, 'men' and 'gers'. Gers acts feminine and does everything a woman is supposed to do. The only differences between gers and women are in the red dot on... more>> the forehead of the gers, the ability to birth the gers from the belly (literally born through the belly, said to be a red line on the belly that serves as the birthplace when it's time to give birth, like a ziplock?), and the gers have a d*ck. And wtf with the transmigrated women who appeared in the last chapter who gave birth to a woman then both of them died.

MC and ML live an ordinary life, maybe they just have more money than other people in the village (they are not OP). If you like a slice of life in the countryside with an old china background, this is for you. <<less

Much to my surprise, the MC had a super quick glowup and all the farming was glossed over...

Hmmm I also feel like compared to other stories, this one had a more misogynistic viewpoint. I was surprised since after marrying, the MC stopped doing the things he did before (hunting, gathering at the mountains, etc.) and instead only did traditional ger stuff like making clothes and cooking?? Also I wished the author took more time to flesh out the romance between the MC and ML. It felt kinda superficial cuz it's like they randomly fell in love after noticing the other is good-looking?

Lastly, I feel like the apocalypse past life setting was wasted (;_;).

While the MC does use his space later to survive the heavy rain and landslide, I just wish the ML didn't gloss over it like "okay, my husband has supernatural powers, whatever." Also wished it played a more key role in other plots of the story (ex. in the drought)

A shorter, dumbed down version of another novel with a similar premise. Not to say I didn’t enjoy it... I did. But there were a lot of unfinished business with this novel; it had a lot of loose ends. Romance was cute & had a lot of covered up snusnu, which was more than I expected. I love child-raising so that was a bonus. So yes, if you want something easy to read & conflicts involving overbearing crazy in-laws, then this is a good go to! Would probably not... more>> pick up again though <<less

It's a lighthearted, straightforward story. Not much about farming tho, weirdly enough. It's more of like rural village everyday life, very slice of life. It's not perfect, but it strangely feels so REAL. It felt like reading a diary, watching a daily life of families somewhere near a mountain. Their struggle, their way of thinking, the way they take care of each other. It's strangely calming. Even when there are problems like famine, drought, and flood. Everyone in this novel is not all black and white, even the good people... more>> have done bad things because of stereotypes, prejudice, and old way of thinking. Because they're simple people from a rural place. Even the bad people are not necessarily bad, well, some of them. There are brain dead people too ofc for plot reasons lmao

My complaint is that is not long enough, I want to read more tbh. It ended too quickly, I was so surprised. The author didn't end the story very beautifully, it felt like someone was forcing them to finish it as soon as possible.

Also the body shaming and fat shaming in this novel is a bit much. The author kept going on and on about ugly ger this ugly ger that. It's really annoying. I know it meant to be offensive but hell I feel offended too. If you're absolutely uncomfortable with such topic you might consider not reading it at all, better than reading it then giving it 1 star. The translator has done a really good job for this.

And also what's up with a woman magically appear out of nowhere in a world where only men and gers exist!?!??? She died as quickly as she arrived too. At this point I personally believe the author was forced to end the novel before more plots could develop. Wtf?

Story is so so, there's no character growth at all. It's like taking several typical Chinese drama plots and mix it up into an unrelated forced cohesiveness mess.

My biggest beef with it is that it is a BG masquerading as a BL. The author only changed "women" to "ger". The Gers are stereotypical women in an ancient era except they have dongs.

Not bad for a casual read! I didn’t end up finishing it, so I won’t do a full review, but it’s really not as bad as I was initially expecting. For this novel, the main theme is slice of life. It’s not poor-to-rich oriented like most Historical farming novels of the same kind, it focuses more on the drama between the people that are related to the main CP. As for the main couple themselves, their romance is pretty simple and straightforward. It’s also very traditional, so there’s not a... more>> lot of romantic development, just some fluff after the fact.

I recommend this novel for when you’re looking for something that’s not overly complicated. There is drama involve here, but it’s not the extreme kind, so the tone is pretty chill. Of course, vibe aside, it’s definitely not a perfect novel. The characters are a little too shallow and the plot a bit too dry (if you’re looking for something exciting, I mean). There are also a lot of elements that are not fully explored. Like the MC’s golden finger (a magical space with a spring), it’s just there for plot convenience, which is definitely a bit awkward.

Overall, I rate this novel as pretty average in terms of reading experience. Of course, if the vibe I described above is what you’re looking for, then it might just hit the spot! But in terms of overall quality, I can only give it a rating somewhere a little below 3.5 out of 5 stars.

Extra Notes: This novel has spicy scenes! They’re not the most explicit, but the main CP does the do on screen quite a few times. Also, the Translation, while not finished, is pretty good! Not sure about the MTL. <<less

It's about built a happy family, I think. Very light, the conflict rather medium, it's all about a familial think. How the MC start a new life after transmigrate, found someone he wants to fall in love, make a happy home, caring his child, and happy ever after. I feel like there's no villain, just some annoying Cannon fodder, no bloody drama, so I like it. It just, some additional in the near end make me feel..??. I dunno why a female suddenly join there just to die before she... more>> make a wave? And the translate things, there's some missing and repeat <<less

So far was very Pretty Good!

Most of it was truly Slice of Life. But don't believe if you think it was just Fluff and Easy life. Because the story does have some conflicts. Mostly Emotional conflicts. But problematic people does exist in this novel.

I keep praying nothing bad Happen to the Problem wasnt too big. I was jolted by slight fear few times already. Though so far the conflict wasn't about MC or ML.

This is the novel about the Poor getting better live. But maybe not the Poor become Rich... more>> like usual Transmigration Farming novel? It's only Maybe.

And MC's Golden Finger also wasn't an Important piece for plot. Except it does help clean his Face from pimples so he wasn't Ugly anymore.

Anyway I pray so hard the rest of the story are good and well satisfying so the it doesn't lose any Stars! 🙏🙏🙏

It's Completed perfectly!... Well, if you ignore ONE RANDOM thing the author did at near the end, so random it doesn't make sense and you can easily think it was a hallucination because it doesn't do anything for the story.

Ignore that one thing, the rest of the story was so Well Written and so Good!

The Extras was Perfect for the side characters. Showing the non Black and White situation, and I'm Pleasantly Surprised!

The main story ended with great final big event before the calming end. It was not weird sudden, it make sense in the Historical Ancient theme, and it was well written! I honestly liked it!

Anyway it end with Satisfactory and I LOVE IT!!! <<less

This really does read like an M/F story rather than M/M, but the biggest difference is that MC at least seems to enjoy the intimate moments with ML. I really don't like overly h**ny MLs, though, and ML seems to have nothing else on his mind after he gets a taste.

MC becomes very submissive (and a little lazy?) once they get married and it feels like he changed his character from the beginning when he went into the mountain and was able to solo hunt with a bow and arrow.... more>> That's the MC I kept hoping would come back, especially when they started exploring the mountain together, but the ML is now the one using the bow and MC just carries whatever weighs the least.

I can also sense the pregnancy arc is coming up, which means MC is likely going to become even more useless for a while (if not the rest of the novel), so I'm gonna dip and find a story that doesn't have ger/men. <<less

It’s been almost a year since I last read this, and the fact that I can actually remember what happens in this story shows how much I enjoyed it, both the first and now the second go around.

This is very much a slice of life story, with the MC easily adjusting and enjoying his newly transmigrated life without having to worry about the apocalypse.

I’ve read some of the comments mention that the ML is a bit of a doormat or too much of a nice guy, since (SPOILER) his family,... more>> particularly his first younger brother did him dirty, and his family kind of throwing him a little to the way side. I do disagree with this. ML is low key getting revenge, while it doesn’t affect the overall family he does say/do things that helps to worsen his younger brothers reputation while still keeping the families somewhat ok so that his youngest ger brother can still have prospects for marriage. This isn’t an in your face kind of vengeance, but the subtle kind with a dash of the best king of revenge is to live well. You can see this with his actions in taking care of his family and friends (look at what happened to a side CP’s ex-husband as an example).

For how long the story is, the fact that it’s a farming historical novel, I think the pace is just right, characters are engaging enough, and the fact that it’s a slice of life makes this a pretty good read. If you want something simple, with hardly any angst, I think you’ll enjoy this. <<less

It was a nice story, though it seemed like the author, being new at this, had some problems with the flow of the story. It went one way and then the other, presented situations and then didn't follow up.... But overall it was good... I liked both MCs and the side characters were interesting...

First and foremost the translation for this one was excellent. I specially enjoyed that the translator included a picture at the start of every chapter, which I feel added to the mood. I also enjoyed the occasional picture of food.

This is a slice of life novel, so there is no high drama, no face slapping, very little conflict as far as the main characters were concerned. It was a very relaxing read and I finished it right away. The MC is likeable, the ML... more>> is cunning and crazy for the MC, the side characters are developed enough to add interest. There is lots of spicy scenes, which sometimes added to the story, and sometimes were totally skippable.

The not so good parts: This is a male/ger world, so it could read as a regular male/female since a ger is the female version. So idk if this is actually a truly Yaoi book. I don't really care so much about it, just realized that for 90% of the book I was reading it as a he/she, so be warned if this bothers you. Also the introduction of a female at the end was totally WTF? Even more since it literally did nothing for the story. This is not a spoiler, it had zero bearing on the story.

The one thing that actually bothered me is that the ML is characterized as extremely obedient and filial at first. Then towards the end he completely hates his parents and his third brother, even though they never changed, they were horrible from beginning to end. It wasn't a slow progression or anything for the ML, it was sudden. It just made him seem very inconsistent. I also feel like lots of opportunities for some interesting drama were missed. As the reader we would have felt good if some of the characters got the face slapping they deserved, but this was fully skipped.

Read this one if you are into a no drama, feel-good, relaxing novel. <<less

Translation is great, 5/5, but the story really should be named as the translator joked at one point, "the ugly ger's 'plowing' story" as he had more going on in the bedroom than the farmstead. Heck the title can even be "The no-longer-ugly-ger and his rural life in drama town" cause the gossip and town's people have more drama than what the MC has going on in his life.

By nearly halfway point and so far we're still in the MC's future business planning idea. He had some stuff started, but... more>> at this point there's nothing exciting happening with the farm or his business plan, which make the story a little boring cause all we had are town's people marriage drama.

I actually enjoyed these kind of transmigration into farmer life and using modern knowledge to get rich. As I've read quite a few and enjoyed them even if they followed almost the same formula, but this one... Idk if I'll have motivation to continue on as the story is quite bland and barely barely any farming despite the title so far. <<less

I dropped by Ch40.

Translation wise. This is a 5/5 for me. Plot wise 3/5. Characters and their growth 3/5.

I just felt like the plot was stagnant. The side characters were too flat and I couldn't go on...

Read to see for yourself.

Also the ML is bland. I have to say it. He was promising in the beginning but the execution for his character in the story felt too forced.

The bed scenes as well. I feel like the story could go without it.

This novel is not too bad, but not too good either. It’s a very simple kinda slice of life of MC in a ger world, got married to a good guy and having a good family life. The author chapters sometimes a bit jumpy. So there’s alot suddenly scene. Translation is ok, I always appreciate someone took time to translate a novel. Even they start out abit shaky but it’s took alot of effort from that person to take on such lengthy projects. So thank you for your hardwork.
The story itself is simple, with cliche plots, but I do appreciate it, just a non effort read and don’t think much kinda happy read. Its short, so if you have nothing to read, just want to pass time. Thank you
