A nice and short read! There are 29 chapters in total (and then some extras), so expect it to be a bit fast paced. There isn't any other conflict except for the main one. The story is really focused on MC and ML going along the plot of the original novel. There's not much world building or any in-depth character development. It's just simple, sweet and cute. And that's okay!

If you need to read something light, I can recommend this one.

29 chapters huh? I wasn't expecting a lot. Because cultivation and transmigrating novels needs more in-depth. So what could 29 chaps give huh?

But boy it was quite a good read.

Well author themselve said that there are some plot holes, fast paced and sudden- abrupt changes in the story. But according to me all of this things didn't hinder anything. Actually somehow all of it blended quite appropriately.

And with MC too he accepted ML's feelings and reciprocated too. But somehow author wrote in a such way that for me it was matching the flow of storyline.

Sure there is chance for modification, deletion and other edits but I thinks the story is fine the way it is now.

Even extras were enjoyable.

The biggest compliment I've to give that'll be while reading the entire book I had big smile plastered on my face.

Cause really it was really soothing, harmonious, warm love story.

3.25*, this felt more like a comprehensive outline than a full novel. There was some transition missing and forced plots. It did hold my attention enough to finish it all including the extras, but I probably won't ever read again.

As for the MC, I really couldn't tell that he was falling for the ML, felt more like MC was suffering from Stockholm syndrome.

The system here was okay, not as annoying as most systems are. It was a little more intelligent and caring than most systems.

The extras were okay, I wasn't into the side couple and the alt reality modern time one ended too quickly.

Also I agree with another reviewer about the art, wasn't a fan. It was the eyes I think that bugged me, the chibi versions were okay. Translation was good, thank you translators! <<less

Seen this one in a thread and I must say I kind of like it. How Gu Xuanyan had taken a liking to Qin Mingxi[Zhong Yan] seemed quite abrupt but I guess that's to be expected in a quite short story. That aside, I can't believe how I predicted a much, much dog blood story compared to the actual, lmaooo.

It helped that there's not much triangle or any actual mindless lead 2s.

it's pretty good, especially considering it's a short story. I didn't have much expectations when I start reading because of some low reviews here (I probably should stop reading those before picking up a novel lol). While reading, I keep telling myself that this is a short story and not to nitpick on every little details. Surprisingly, I found myself enjoying the ride.

Maybe it has something to do with it having just a short period of confinement yet no lengthen drama happening. The ML is not an unreasonable yandere too, he just has his own insecurity, yet he still respects MC's opinion very much. The author had done a good job with this one.

I think the ending fight scene was rather underwhelming, but I still enjoyed the whole book. The story moves quickly but still makes sense. The MC is funny, especially when he interacts with the system and his emotional development is really adorable. The ML is obsessive but in a respectful-ish way because he has the biggest soft spot ever. Anyway, I’d recommend this cute short novel for light reading. The translation team did a wonderful job as always!

Feels like I read a different novel than all these raving reviews because I honestly can't even bring myself to finish, I'm just so bored of this story. Added the fact that it's a short story, truly disappointing for me.

A simple short and sweet story. At its core about a - blackbellied shidi x mob character shixiong

I like reading specific scenarios with black bellied MLs and this ML was quite a fresh, nice and consistent version of that possessive archetype. At certain points the ML did remind me abit of A smile from the Villains Ml- but a much healthier and more sweet version.

Everything was well rounded, although the author did say they had issues with pacing and whatnot - I believe everything flowed somewhat well (I did not... more>> notice much errors) and added to the story especially being for such a short novel.

Would def recommend for everyone to give a try. It's an enjoyable short read and I appreciate the extras too. The ending is very harmonious and is consistent. Which is quite a big compliment from me as I am a big on consistency within a novel whether that is about character actions or plot as it can entirely throw me off a novel. While the ML falls in love really quickly, the mc's progression is rather reasonable, and the plot is well-paced. I couldn't believe this was such a short story, it reads like a longer one.

I also thought the extras were perfect - tying a bow on an already well-packaged story.

It was short but really good. The MC was not the sharpest but was incredibly funny and adorable while the ML was a bit black-bellied but he was undoubtedly inlove with the MC. I truly enjoyed reading this!

A fun read.

For a short story, had a good development. You can see the love and affection between the main couple. The interactions with the system are hilarious. The fluffy was very good, it deserved a little more chapters.

A fun short novel. Rather par for the course but still a worthwhile read if you want something more generic and calming to occupy time with.

Short, light hearted, and funny xianxia bl. Even though it uses a lot of common tropes (male yandere, op ml, etc) it doesn't feel cliche at all. Stays hilarious and enjoyable the whole way through.

If you're tired of angsty dog blooded xianxia/wuxia then I highly recommend this. Give your heart a break.

Is there anything super special about this novel? No. Will I read it again? Probably not. But did I still cry like a baby during that final battle, you bet your ass I did.
