I have so much love for this author. I really hope they consider producing English translated physical copies of their novels because I would definitely buy all of them.

I would rate this novel 4.5 out of 5. Although I don't reread it as often as her newer works, which have more prominent romance elements, I still adore it. Even though the story primarily focuses on the lives of women in historical China, it remains an incredibly intriguing read. I particularly appreciate how the author portrays the strategies to capture a husband's attention. <<less

I would rate this book a 4.1 because it is good and enjoyable to read, but there are moments when the premise of the story makes me cringe.

P.S the other books that I had read from her is Greetings Ninth Uncle which I DNF, the plot is good, love the FL and ML but the romance aspect really got me bored (DNF after chapter 116), The other novel was It’s better to be the empress dowager this one I did finish and quite enjoyed it but doesn’t deserve the spot for my all time faves, I felt like the FL here is better to be in a modern setting than in historical coz I felt like if it’s in real life the ML would probably kill her lmao <<less

I so sooo love this novel y’all and girl I was about to DNF this too because I was really bored in the first half BUT— when the romance starts to pick up, omg it was sooo good it even became one of my fave novels from yue xia die ying.
