Controversial because a chunk of the story takes place when MC is supposedly thirteen years old, and five-years-older ML starts liking him a bit too much. In that way. Since MC is a transmigrator he's actually in his thirties, but it got a bit too OTT for me in one instance (the cosplay...). Anyway, they don't cross the line so if you can overlook this aspect of the story you may enjoy it. Lots and lots of fluff and pampering.

My favorite parts are when MC is developing his business and his relationship with his dad. The grandpa is great. In later chapters the story gets a bit random, the revenge is a little too OTT in some instances, and there's such an overload of vaguely described smut you wish the author would stop writing it. Overall this is one of the very, very few BL novels I've read twice.  <<less

Less fluffy because the ML remains true to his villain "heritage" and is quite manipulative and scheming. The MC faffs about, admits the ML has mental illness (because he does...), but never sends this child to get counseling. WTH? <<less

I really loved this story but some people might object to MC's parents, who disowned him because of his homosexuality and beat him with a broom when he tries to reconcile. They eventually see the error of their ways but the domestic violence is never called out as inappropriate. That said, the main CP is super cute and warm, there are several interesting side CPs,  and the two little kids are great. First story I liked so much I had to MTL it.

One of the themes of this story is the price of intolerance, something that isn't addressed too often in BL (because a lot of BL is about escapism, and h*mophobia isn't fun). It's also rare to see a BL story where the MC was in a previous s*xual relationship. A nice change from the usual. Also, MC's sister is a piece of work! OMG!  <<less

Because of misunderstandings and manipulation the characters do various scummy things -- the story really isn't fluffy at all -- but they have genuine feelings for each other. The end is so random and contradicts pretty much all preceding character development to that point that I honestly hated it and purged it from my mind. However this is a quick read and an interesting change from the usual BL we get to see. <<less

After thoroughly screwing everything up, he manages to reset the game, but things go awry and ML's memory somehow isn't wiped.... more>>

Less fluffy because MC treats the game characters around him like action figures, randomly lying and ignoring their emotions. I mean, yes it's a game, but that's why this isn't a super fluffy story. <<less

Less fluffy because this engaged couple are too new with each other to communicate well and fall prey to various annoying misunderstandings. Also, it bothered me how eagerly ML helps MC set up his birth father and stepmother before they've even married. I get that MC's family is scum, but isn't ML worried that he's getting married to such a schemer? <<less
