Crazy!! Cute!!! Pure!!!! Love!!!!!!!

This is one of Mo Chen Huan's short stories, so there's only 36 chapters, plus 4 extras. I binged everything in two nights.

Most of the plot occurs in the game. I happen to love in-game interactions because they're really fun, and this absolutely did not disappoint. There's basically no drama, which happens to be very refreshing because a lot of other novels I'm currently reading are chock-full of dog blood drama. Also, there aren't a lot of events that occur between Ji Xiaoli and Ruan Fenghe face-to-face,... more>> so if you're expecting that, then perhaps you should lower your expectations hahaha. However, the most exciting one - the identity reveal - was certainly as nail-biting as I expected it to be. My heart non-stop pounded the entire two chapters. PSA that this novel is entirely PG, btw. The most you'll see is hand-holding (which happened like 3 times) and two kisses in the extras. It's a pure love story, friends.

Onto the characters. It's hard to create "innocent" characters that don't eventually become annoying. However, MCH manages to make Ji Xiaoli very likable. Plus, there's a believable reason for his personality: his parents treat him like the treasure in their palms and thus, he has a cheery outlook on life. The cutest thing about him is that he gets easily led by the nose during conversations with Ruan Fenghe, causing a lot of hilarity. He has his "aha!" moments though, so he's not entirely foolish (as he's referred to in the title, and constantly by Ruan Fenghe).

It's also hard to create the handsome male lead whose characterization falls flat later on and becomes very 2D. Ruan Fenghe seems to be your local gao fu shuai who is unreachable because of his status. He's known as Boss Yue/Chunhe to players and friends, respectively. He's the #1 player in his division, and is obviously very rich since his skills and equipment are all super OP. Irl, he's intelligent and studied abroad in robotics, but couldn't continue because he had to return and help with his family's business. (There is this one moment that happens later in the novel between Xiaoli and Fenghe about this, displaying their vulnerable sides, and I loved it.) But throughout the novel, we realize that he's just one very logical dude. And very patient. There's a lot more I could say, but I'd rather not spoil it. You'll just have to see for yourself how cute they are together!

Also, I practically stopped breathing during their confession, whew. (Yes, this deserved it's own sentence and space.)

The only con I'd have to say is I wish MCH elaborated on how Ruan Fenghe/YJCH lied to Ji Xiaoli in the game, thus causing Ji Xiaoli's very unfavorable opinion on him at the beginning of the novel (where he curses YJCH as "you scum, slag, no-good of a douche" left and right all in front of Milk Tea HAHA). MCH sprinkled the details throughout the novel, so I did put 2+2 together but I think I might've missed something. I'll have to wait for the rest of translations to come out to double check because I space out while listening sometimes, and I'm too lazy to go back.

Anywho, final verdict: 5/5! Read this for watered crops, clear skin, and good grades!

[EDIT] I listened to the audio drama and found out the reason! I must have missed it while listening to the novel. Goodness, their dynamics are so cute. The CV for Ruan Fenghe has a very magnetic voice. Also, fans of MDZS/GDC, the CV for Wei Wuxian voiced Ji Xiaoli! <<less

Another novel by Mo Chen Huan! I can't wait to read it all! It's only been translated to 2 chapters so far, but the start is promising as always and comical with a dash of seriousness. I'd suggest you try just by the prestige of Mo Chen Huan's storytelling skills! ^^

This was short and sweet. The main characters interactions were cute and almost like a slow burn. I liked that they both didn't fall head over heels right at the beginning. The gaming aspect was easier to understand than other novels (thankfully).

The only thing I couldn't wrap my head around was how the computer game could be played on the handphone, like it's complicated. But that's not the point.

Overall, an easy read compared to like novels with over 100 chapters.

Super cute and fluffy short story! A solid 3.5 stars.

It only lost two stars because of the little plot bits that were never explained:
Spoiler
  • they never explained what caused the misunderstanding between the two prior to the start of the novel. I mean we know it wasn't ML's fault but what exactly happened??
  • And exactly how did ML fall in love? We see MC's pov clearly but for ML he was weighing MC on the same "brain severely damaged" list as Bei Yuan, what made MC stand out for him??
  • Also personally I found it a bit sad that ML had to give up his robotics to take over the family business just because he had to "pay back the bread" actually I don't even understand what that means. What exactly is his family business anyways... Seems like a waste to send him to MIT for robotics and have him be this genius at it only to go home and do business.

This is so underrated! More people should know about this! It has so much potential though... for it to become a longer novel... however the short 36 chapters didn't feel rushed at all. Their interactions very sweet and fluffy, barely any dog blood drama. A nice short read if you're looking for one!

i like stories about gaming then the reveal of identity. The main charas are cute though it might be better if the author gave more thoughts on how they fell in love. It's very short so it's a quick read even in mtl.

ML is caring for MC and MC faced his feelings straight on not like other charas that keep dragging the story in denial.

Funny and short story, there are many holes in the plot but it really is a light story to not take too seriously and just enjoy.

For anyone, this book has a manhua with the same title.

Well, this story is funny and care free type but protagonist character is so annoying. I think the author want to use protagonist’s behavior to make comedic scenes, but it’s just make him turn out to be a spoiled, bad mouth, and fool. Someone might think that he is just tsundere (?) but for me, it’s not likable at all. I can’t find the reason for ML to fall in love with him.

so, this story is not recommended to whose like high or normal EQ and IQ protagonist, but if... more>> you like foolish one, this story suit you. <<less

This was such a cute novel! And unlike another one that has the 'I am rich' theme, the guy very naively uses his wealth. And this book accurately illustrated that "there are mountain beyond mountains".

I think the romance is there, but very subtle. The build up to them falling in love is basically them playing together, learning about each other, improving for each other. Fine, also, one of them seduces the other with his stoic-ly sexy voice apparently. The other seduces with his cute naivety? I know, it sounds very... more>> generic and maybe it is. Rather boring and the story is all over the place.

About 90% takes place ingame. I really cannot say at which point there are feelings since none of it felt like getting close to each other or like special moments. I do not feel the sweetness.

The story jumps like crazy. Wherever there is an important thing happening the writer used time jumps to not have to write the harder part or learn to write about communication. This annoyed me big time.

Very cute and easy read. The MC is a silly little bun and the ML teases him so much hehe

The gaming aspect of the novel is easy to follow if you're familiar with games.

I wish the author had included more scenes of them IRL together. Also I still don't really understand why MC hated ML's main account so much (or had a misunderstanding or whatever) - it wasn't explained clearly.

Eyy a solid 4 for me.

I love MC and his family, they are so warm, loving and a sand sculpture family. ML is typical OP. He fell for MC pretty quickly imo. But I don’t really blame him. MC is such a sunny and silly man. However, the story has some missing information that was never explained, like how ML recognized MC irl from the start, what exactly happen between MC ori account and ML previous alt account, I mean it wad indicated that MC fell in love since he... more>> had the 520 fireworks, and what was said between ML and MC parents. The answer to this question was always ML telling MC to guess and MC giving up. MC wants to ask other people for answer but it was then forgotten.

Well one thought from ML that I love here is that he thought no wonder MC was like a treasure. Since he has been regarded and treasured by his parents for 20 years, so when they met MC was his best sunny treasure. ML love was never written as overbearing, he is patient, kind and supportive of MC growth. While MC doesn’t fall quickly either, it took sometimes to realize he was moved by Ml. Then they got together naturally, no drama and that was a nice short read. <<less

Short, light and funny gaming danmei, with a boastful wacky filthy-rich MC who sucks at gaming and a gaming god filthy-rich ML who dotes on MC from the start. From the author of 'The earth is online', 'King of classical music' and 'Rebirth of a supermodel', this little piece is not on par with the 3 aformentioned giants. Some things are not explained well, for e.g the old enmity between ML and MC. The writing style is too brief and abrupt... am guessing the author really wanted to keep this... more>> novel short! But it's still worth reading, because I love gaming, esp. chinese games and I also loved MC's cute character and MC's lovable parents. I loved how easy-going and adorable MC is. This is a very cute and fluffy conflict-free read. Highly recommended if you're looking for something short to read.

  • MC is cute, rich, boastful, but not in the arrogant way

I'm sad to give this 4 stars because it was actually quite enjoyable. I would give it 3 stars but it's not entirely tr*sh either...

The big problem is that the ending was wayyyyyy too rushed. It was still good all the way up to when they met offline, and then after that everything was rushed in a way that the transition from friends to lovers had become so superficial and shallow. And because of that, this novel felt like an empty shell. No direction and no substance.

I want to give this a 4⭐ but I think its a cute little story so I give them a 5⭐.

The story was a little confusing in the middle. I'm not quite sure whether it's just my bad reading comprehension ability or I just missed the part but it was never explained why the ML knows the MC's name at the start of the story. Like if my memory serves me right, one time before they even met in real life, the ML call the MC real name like he... more>> knows the other from the start but then the story says otherwise. So I'm pretty confused at that part.

Since this is a short little story I read to pass time when I crave some fluff, I think it fulfill the job to fill my fluff meter. It's a simple and cute story that you aren't supposed to think about deeply. I would recommend this to pass your time when you don't have anything else to read and want to read some fluff. But if you want some plot heavy story or have a hard time ignoring plot holes, I don't recommend trying this story. <<less

Super cute!! Still love the manhua way more though, the visuals make everything 1000x funnier.

The writing style does feel abit too brief and not indepth enough, in that alot of the events felt brushed across even as its currently happening.

this is cute. Idk why but I feel like for a short story this ML really has a personality. But he is still op. The MC really is foolish. The ML still fell in love with that so I thought that this indeed is true love. They are cuter when they got together.

I had read the manhwa and it's so drool-inducing. So unfair!!! Milk Tea Small Crisps deserves a manhwa of her own, like how beautiful is her illustration?! Her counterpart, Yue Jiang Chunhe, is so handsome too!

Ayz, Ji Xiaoli's potential as a top healer was impeded by that s*upid player leveller. So treacherous, I wanna throttle.

A really nice short read, this story has a good combo of fluff, comedy and MMORPG elements.

Maybe it’s bcz I love the Gaming tags/E-Sport Genre I’m biased; but I don’t think this deserves so much hate.
