Worth the read, short and drama-filled + a scumbag MC who improves afterwards.

Spoiler

Yes, the MC (gong) is being a scumbag at first, he's straight, ignorant and manipulative, trying to stay away from the ML when he knows that the ML is a gay. Well, he's like 'I hate gays' on his face, but is curious at heart. Until 50% of the novel, the MC starts to realize he likes the ML and is struggling. He doesn't wanna admit yet he wants to stay together with him, he gets jealous when there are other people being with the ml. Towards the end, he's improving. He stops being ignorant, he listens to what the ML says. When the ML tells him he has a boyfriend, MC decides to let him go TAT (but the ML was lying) . The MC went to another branch of the company, he became mature and more responsible. (I'm just happy the MC lets go and improves, even without the ML by his side, he tries his best and works it out. Not that scum in my opinion, but if you think he's a scumbag, don't bash me, he's just not as tr*shy as what I've read before, he's just childish and has low EQ lol) oh and yes HE

A sweet story with some angst added in. I especially love that it didn't take forever for the couple to get together but at the same time wishing it was longer lol.

I can completely sympathize with both the MC and ML. And just like other reviewers wrote this feels very realistic so maybe that's why it hurts so good? 😅

It's pretty nice. It's from a straight guy perspective who slowly turned gay. You might feel that he's pretty scummy at first but dear it was realistic.

It's not so bad and quite enjoyable. The angst is not too enreasonable but realistic. While the romance is a bit lacking you can tell that this is well thought out on how will the protagonist move past his inner conflict. I really like it.

Wow. That was such a realistic portrayal. It was very believable. Good enough for me to binge read in one sitting. At first the MC feels like a scum. But it is actually very realistic. Most people would react like that. (Not that this justifies anything) Kudos to the ML for being able to bear with it. Though the MC eventually comes around. The struggle is real. Thankfully its a HE

Thanks for the translation.

The story is more of the “getting there” for the MC. Tbh I felt really frustrated reading this because for the majority of the story ... more>>

the MC is scummy. Like he’s a typical straight man, very immature and ignorant. I say ignorant because he seems to have no understanding of what is it to be gay and just have a very conservative mindset about homosexuality. I know people would say this is just realistic portrayal, but I’m sorry the coz I didn’t like it.

Another thing that frustrates me is I kinda think they shouldn’t have gotten together in the end. Although MC changed, their relationship still do not make sense to me. I didn’t see any spark from ML’s perspective so I guess the picture is kinds incomplete. But given what we were presented, them getting together do not make sense. I do not see ML loving MC, It’s like he’s just settling. At most, it seems like because the author promised an HE (it’s in one of their chapter notes), then they just made it an HE.

But then again I am just a reader, what do I know right?

To summarize, will I recommend this to my friends? Not likely. So there. <<less

This one has a straight seme that meets a coworker who makes him question his sexuality. He doesn't react well initially and is scummy, but this seems close to a realistic portrayal as someone who struggles to come to accept himself. I like the fact to that the MC thinks through if he's gay or bis**ual. The MC really matures through this one.

The sad part made me cry but it was HE in the end thank goodness.

I think it was a reasonably good portrayal of the process of coming out to yourself. I mean not for everyone's experience obviously but like for me it felt honest to my own process.

I wouldn't really call the gong scum, he was wrestling with his identity at the time. Trying to follow the path that he thought was "right" and I really loved how he was well maybe I am bi but he wasn't ready to... more>> accept that. <<less

So touching. Seeing a straight man go through his identity crisis. I felt some indescribable feeling of "deserves him right" for the pain he brought to himself while I also pity him since I cant also blame himself for thinking that way. From that point on, I just wished that the ML would find another guy instead of MC and give back the dogblood karma but them being HE together is also good enough. Tbh, it was an annoying and infuriating journey at first but it was kind of understandable... more>> from a lowkey homophobe person like the MC.

I just want MC to suffer with his homophobe propaganda so much in the beginning that he did not know he is slowly falling for ML. HAHHAHHHAHAHAH <<less

It somewhat feels incomplete but I'm giving it 5 stars to pull up ratings. MC really is typical brainwashed straight man so yes, he was infuriating at first. He came around eventually and then the story ended lol

Love love love the story. It's realistic and short, making it a good read when you are quite tired of fantasy settings/ want something that is concrete. I also like how the author manage to answer most the readers questions at the end, everyone's story was wrapped up nicely.

Also, amazing work from the translation team!!!

This novel gave me mixed feelings. It was a hard read for me tbh, the story is considerably realistic, so h*mophobia was to be expected. The MC is really a scum at first, but it was because of all the internalized h*mophobia and he has to through a whole process before reaching his character delevopment, which is understandable (but still made me annoyed asf). I really liked the ML attitude, he never accepted being treated badly by the MC and valued himself. The development of their relationship and the ending... more>> was very satisfying to me, I`m glad I persisted and read until the end despite being angry at the MC. <<less

This is actually quite sweet. The MC does screw up a lot, but it feels initially like projection because he cannot comprehend his own feelings ... more>>
Spoiler

(i.e., from the start he's been interested in the ML and wanted to spend time with him, he's pursued him relentlessly; only when he realizes the ML is gay does he realize their relationship looks/feels like early romance. And, instead of being able to consider the idea that he's crushing hard on the ML, he decides the ML must have a crush on him.)

). He never acts out of malice, only fear, confusion, and attraction.

One thing I really enjoyed was his perception of the ML.
Spoiler

Initially, after he finds out the ML is gay, he looks for signs. He tries to impose femininity on him. But, after he grows up a bit, he realizes the traits--neatness, gentleness, etc--aren't signs of being girly, but are just personality traits anyone could have.

i don't know why the ratings are less but I m giving it a 5⭐.

For a short novel (just 22 chaps) there r many untold facts but still rhe missing ends are wrapped nicely.

If u want to sit back and relax enjoying a light read free from all harem sxhemes and business world complexities I will suggest read this. Translation is also flawless 👍
