Its a bit hard to rate this book.
First of all the plot and world building is fantastic and very close to reality. From the old fashioned mindset of the people to their rural behaviours, it's very close to reality.

At 400 chapters: (3 stars)

It obviously never goes completely well from the MC because of these annoying pests whom realistically you can't kill off because they arrelatives. So that details and her frustrations are very real, kudos.

As for the pacing, well, that is Botha testament of the writer's great creativity, dedication and research, and it is also a trying test of the readers' patience. The book is really slow paced, bit interesting nonetheless. Except to see her day to day life and small decisions and challenges that lead to bigger decisions. But aside from faceslapping, food writeups, and family fluff, it takes time for the plot to move forward.

The sidecharacters are another point of focus. Almost all of them are well rounded with depth and back stories. Even the despicable ones sometimes show good sides. And many issues about old custom beliefs are portrayed beautifully through these less than likeable characters. Though further down, it tends towards a bit of repitition, it's still okay.

The romance is not the focus of this book at all. It is just so
Now, the MC herself. The MC us the character I feel the most conflicted about. She is honestly the first character I feel has really assimilated with the rural ancient lifestyle and attitude among many books. Her rashness that drove her to take revenge on her cheating ex-husband in her first life come through fully in her second. This means the MC will never miss the chance to dish out face slapping. But... yes, but! While it's interesting at first, it's not necessarily so later. Plus, she loses the very flavour of a modern woman later like when she pushes her pre-teen (later early teen) son to a girl she wants him to marry. The manner in which it's done is not something most people nowadays would nod at, especially at the kids age, and with free choice and love as main reasons for relationships today.

Plus, the MC is sometimes like an angry bull. Her enemies taunt her with one word and she rushes after them for a physical altercation, like wtf? She is supposed to be a rich modern businesswoman, how come she has no tact? Since she picks every fight, the fights lose their meaning. Later some conflict scene the writer sets up makes no sense and just seems to be there to make conflict to set up for face slapping.

Positively, her wealth creation is very, very logical. The MC does not transmigrate with an in-built system or OP knowledge. She is quite normal and has to figure out what she can actually do with the limit resources she can afford in an ancient world. At the same time, she can't exhibit so much skill otherwise people would think she, the new body, is possessed by a ghost (which is kinda true).

Not only is there little money, there is little technology and materials to work with! So each step to make money takes a lot of effort.

There are a few glitches and plot holes in the story but that's to be expected, isn't it?

Edit at 700 chapters: (2 stars)

The MC is not sensible at all. This is boring. For her business model she makes food and opens embodiery store. Plus nothing is particularly creative, she doesn't introduce new groundbreaking stuff, just rings others can pick up too as long as they are not demented.

The Gillian's start out challenging but are gradually dumbed down so the s*upid MC can deal with them with her usual rashness. Too boring. The writers also attemptsto show the good side of some bad characters but it really doesn't mesh.

Spoiler

As for the children, to be In a maybe the writer realised Xiaocheng-Yingzi together is awkward. AnAn age keeps increasing at a speed that doesn't match the timeline. As for the rest of the children, well, I won't judge the plot hole gaps in their move to the capital. Oh, and the MC remains a thorough rural woman raising family even in the new mansion.

[collapse]

The plot holes are gaping wider and wider.

And the MCs attitude? Spit.... What kind of crass modern woman is this? ATA point, the business ideas is just uninspiring. It's good but I expect more at this point.

Overall, I'd advise against binge-reading this. Take it slowly and patiently to enjoy it, otherwise it can be very frsutrating.

just as it says in the summary~ female lead dies and finds her self transmigrated as a poor woman in ancient china, with instant husband and children.

Chapters are short so far, but the female lead has a strong character and is not afraid of hardship. The children are cute and the husband seems nice too~ the family has had a lot of misfortune so I hope to see the female lead improve their lives~

chapters are short and easy to read. If you like the tropes then you can give it... more>> a try! <<less

I recommend this novel to anyone who loves farm with female protagonist. This is just like other the same novel like Transmigration with QQ farm and back to sixties farm just more realistic and without the fantasy turn of QQ Farm. If you guys are just looking for an easy to read novel to spend your time, you'll enjoy this. The translator posted chapters in Wattpad which is easier to access.

I just love how they included romance between the couple in a fast way unlike other novel with same plot. There are less cutesy moments with the kids and not really focused on farming but more into ways to gain money. The protagonist sells shrimps in town and things like that. There are a lot of scenes about the shameless family members and things. It's hard to explain but yeah. Quite nice. <<less

Gold! I love the lead chars. We don't need the ML to be CEO or full body abled, this novel differs from that. This is one of the best transmigrated novel that I've encountered!!!

Well, eventhough I'm still at the beginning of the story, I can already see the potential of its development. Though I'm greatful because someone is trying to translate and share this novel to us, non-chinese native readers or speakers, I still hope that someone more capable would work with it or that the current translator would try to further review his/her work so that it can be more polished and smooth to read.

I'll try to put this in my reading list first and wait untill the time that its translation... more>> is more polish or gain further improvement.

Again, I give my gratitude to the translator for his/her effort and hoping see improvement to it. <<less

It’s a 2.5

its a slice of life novel so progress is rather slow. The FL is interesting in the beginning and appears shrewd though impulsive unfortunately as the story progressed her edge dulled but she stayed impulsive. She doesn’t appear to me to be particularly modern but more like a hybrid? She does carry some modern values and some of her ideas are out of sync with the time she is in but most of the time she comes across as particularly in harmony with the time. Even in those... more>> times you had independent woman, though it wasn’t the norm, that’s what she closest ressemble.
Progression of the story is logical, there is no romance really, though the male lead is devoted. Speaking of the male lead, he isn’t much besides being devoted which explains the lack of romance.

Villains are like coackroaches, unkillable I find. But I did like the family dynamic.
maybe as I keep reading ill find something surprising about the male lead, I still have 500+ chapters to go. (At chapter 783 currently). I’ll come back to update my review if my mind changes. <<less
